A girl on my floor just stopped me and had me fill out a survey. Apparently, she's writing a paper on the experiences of people with tattoos in society. Sounds interesting.

We should have won by more in regular time. My take:

1. We need a new offensive line. Period.
2. The defense got tired (or thought they were done?)
3. Still putting things back together and working crap out.

What sort of questions? I think Tat's are much more mainstream then in years before.

So, after being in the job market for the last year, I'm trying not to keep my hopes up on this past interview. But it's hard not to. I mean, they paid for my airline ticket and rental car to come out to PA this weekend, arranged an interview on a Sunday afternoon, took me out to lunch before the interview, spent a total of over 2½ hours with me, discussed possible starting dates and when they will have a meeting that I could meet all the employees and finally, talked about salary, bonuses, benefits and vacation time.

In short the only thing they didn't do is give me an offer.

I don't start thinking of it as really cold until the air temperature gets to -10 to -20, of course I will still go to the outdoor rink when it is that temp and play hockey.

Oooh! Did you see he's going to be playing a Scrooge-like character on the Doctor Who Christmas Special?

AND, BBC America is going to be showing it on Christmas same as BBC? no waiting six months for it!

Good luck and MN FAWTL should get together before you leave (assuming you get the job). Knock on Mairkurion.

*sigh* Another stealth post. Not sure if I will be online this evening as I think I'm heading into manhattan for gaming.

Ashe, that sounds kickass. Of course, as your opposite, I have to ride through the freezing cold on my bike to work on a daily basis. Here's hoping you are carried to your new job on the backs of vestal virgins who sing your praises to any passersby.

Well, as a Michigander who has been transplanted into Houston for the last couple years, the heat isn't so bad, at first. It's just like the hottest week in August in Michigan. But then we have it for the next 8 months...and I have a hard time dealing with it. But I get revenge by wearing short sleeves until/if the temperature drops below 50.

I can't tell you how many times someone stops me in the grocery store on a day where the high is 70 or lower and asks worriedly "Do you need a coat? Are you okay?"

:D

lol. Yea it's hard going form one extreme to another.

Forgot to mention. I had a great weekend.

The girls' choir group did a Sunday evening performance of Scrooge in Bethlehem. It was very cute and the kids all did a good job.

The best part was seeing an entire row of the girls' principal, teachers, and friends who had come out just to see them perform. I couldn't have imagined having my elementary school principal take the time out to come see me in a play that had nothing to do with school. We're so lucky to have the support we do, there.

Anyway, I hope everybody has a great day!

I'll be underway for a couple of weeks, so you won't see me on Facebook, but I'll be checking the boards, whenever I can.

Ciao!

[rant]So, I negotiate a 30% reduction in warehouse costs for next year, saving the company about $30k. Mainly due to the warehouse mkt bottoming out. Who gets the credit from the CFO?

Spoiler:
The guy in Accounting that pushes the policy of competitive bidding over $10k, 'cause we 'wouldn't have done it otherwise'. Ignoring the fact that we have done this every year or two for the last decade. Before the butt kisser started.

Geesh! Why bother.[/rant]

Apparently everyone ran away from the shoe discussion.

Smurf fight!!!!

Lantern Lodge

I can't believe I missed a chance to discuss shoes...

:(

shoes are good. there can never be too many shoes. except most of my shoes are summer sandals because in winter I just wear boots on account of the snow. I mean I've got a couple pair that transition me from sandals to boots, but that's about it, and by the time I think I really should add in another pair it's boot season.

It's finals time and my brain is both fried and scrambled. too many late nights finishing projects and papers. one more week. just one more week.

I can't believe you said Smurf and nothing happened.

BTW, I *know* that there's a way around it, just making conversation

I am trying to decide if smurf fight is humans throwing them or like a gladiatorial arena where all the smurfs fight each other to the death.

It's because I am soulless.

EDIT: nekkid smurf war for TotP

Shoes cover the feet and keep one from being hurt when one steps on sharp things. Shoes are also required in most public places. They are expensive and good at tripping one in the dark.

Them are shoes.
