Little typo there, it's whoreticulture.
What can I say, some people have a green thumb, I ... don't

If it comes back green, seek a doctor... or a botanist... STAT!

OK, is there any Fawtly who is NOT depressed? Anyone? Bueller?
I'd put a badger on the payroll if I could. Do badgers do independent website creation?
Good luck!

Decided against the Cure. Instead I'm listening to Who Killed Amanda Palmer.
+1
And by the way, NEVER listen to Mark Erelli when you're depressed. It will make you more depressed and almost crash your car into a brick wall.
I might be speaking from personal experience. Then again, I might not.

You might find this stimulating.

By the way, I listened to all your shows. Enjoyable stuff, and I've been building a list of bands to check out. :)

"What I don't understand is why exactly it is that you are incapable of simply not opening up threads you don't want to participate in." (emphassis, mine)
"Of course, it may help to, also, mark any frivolous threads as 'FRIVOLOUS:'"
"Having to skim through threads you don't want to read when you're looking for something frivolous isn't anywhere near as rude as finding a serious thread flooded with several pages of nonsense non sequitors..."
"With that in mind, your above comment isn't helping."

I dig theologians and philosophers you can cut people with. But one of my volumes of Occam is missing. I think a woman ran off with it.

Gary and Ross are software devs, and their time is better spent doing that rather than policing the messageboards. There are a lot of threads though, and sometimes the offending stuff doesn't get flagged, or gets flagged days (or weeks, or months) after they've been posted. The definition of "offending stuff" can vary wildly from poster to poster too, and all of these little details have to be considered when deciding what to do with some posts. Moderating these boards is not easy, and treading the fine line between letting anything and everything be said and removing any negative posts is a tricksy path indeed.
Flag it and move on- don't feed the trolls...
I do think that some topics can be discussed without people resorting to making personal attacks. Unfortunately, I am an optimist.

Yes, yes you are. *sigh*
For the FAWTLies:
*blink*

I was traveling over the weekend so I missed a lot of the Thanksgiving trolling battles. And with recent ill feelings toward toward the decline in the civility of OTD threads I thought it was a good time to share my feelings about FAWTL and the Paizo message boards.
* I am thankful for the FAWTL threads and everyone who posts in it. I read it almost every day.
* I am thankful for the humor, your quips and the humorous tangents that you take off on. They make me laugh and brighten my lunch as I read through them.
* I am thankful for the compassion shown to those who are going through difficult times. Words of encouragement, advice and experience zoom out to help sooth the pain of the moment and remind that this too shall pass and to remain ever optimistic.
* I am thankful for all of the links to youtube videos, cartoons, movies and many other references. It has expanded my world and introduced me to ideas and information that I would never come across otherwise.
* I am thankful for gaming advice, miniature discussion, and updates on your games. Being very new to the game, I have been able to quickly soak up lots of game history and tips from what you say.
* I am thankful for the long time posters who/whom (I can never remember which) are returning, you are the ones who first drew me to begin posting, and I am thankful for the new posters have kept the thread alive and brought new ideas to the thread.
I hope one day to meet each of you in person, perhaps at a convention, a game table or a meal. You are all an amazing collection of people.
Thank you for being you.
I wish everyone the best during this holiday season and for those who are going through difficult times, I am praying for the best for you and remember you are never alone. You have friends here who will always be there for you.

I understand where you're coming from. I was in a supremely bad mood yesterday, so it just rubbed me the wrong way. Unfortunately, I was only seeing the negative. You're right, I should give the benefit of the doubt.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this. :)

Wish I could be optimistic.
But, that being said, the thread dump (BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE - Grats!) seemed to get the message across. Tho the point was ignored by the longtime trolls, with their darn damage reduction and crazy regeneration. Hopefully the new one sees that 'social commentary' comes in many forms. Time will tell.
When flags fail - Behold the powers of FAWTLies, smurfs, poodles, and Jiminy Sunwake! Gosh, that last one is tiring to type for, but he's funnier than heck.
Remember the only thing needed for trolls to hold sway is for good/whacky/fun-loving FAWTLies to do nothing. One FAWTLy nation, to have, to hold, to cherish.
We need a national anthem. Suggestions? Theme song from the Three Stooges?
Here's to a whacky holiday season with good friends!
*bonks nearest FAWTLy on the head with a mallet*
EDIT: LOL! I got the avvy opening a present!

I've noticed that your "customer service" responsibilities have expanded to moderation. Not the most fun thing in the world, I'd imagine. :)

TEAM FAWTL!
Could you guys help my memory with something? There was a web show whose premise was that a jerky guy brought his girlfriend into his RPing group. He breaks up with her, but the group decides they prefer her and quit gaming with him to game with her. So the episodes progress from them showing up unannounced to pulling some of her friends into game, the b/f finding out the group dumped him for her, awkward meetings at the game store, etc. I'd appreciate anyone curing my memory of it curse. Thanks!

Ah great. Now I can't remember the name of the show either. I think there was a web comic associated with it as well, or perhaps you saw a show based on people acting out the comic?

So...I guess all the FAWTLies went to work? (Or back to bed. Where I so dearly wanted to go this morning.)
Yeah, I'm in the salt mines. Just got out of our weekly meeting. Could go for a political thread right now, that's the mindframe the meeting has me in right now. :-D
[EDIT]Nekkid political salt mining for ToP!!
