Man Love for Jason Bulmahn

Advanced Player's Guide Playtest General Discussion

Anyone else love these new classes as much as I do? Forget for a moment all the amazing things they did with the old classes like the sorcerer bloodlines, rogue talents, rage powers etc etc etc.

I mean the Oracle is what the Favored Soul should have been. Why that wasn't the spontaneous divine caster to begin with I don't know. Focusing on a specific domain. Dead on.

The Summoner is just so unique. And the Witch. Dear God, I love this Witch!!! We are getting non LG Paladins, more bloodlines. I can't wait for August and beyond

It's scheduled to come out next August? Is there a FAQ or something for the Advanced Player's Guide?

Unofficial Advanced Player's Guide FAQ compliments of d20pfsrd.com.

This time of year, I have no time for playing. :(

Does one still get to proclaim one's man love for Jason in this thread?

We Bulmahnauts approve of this thread. Offerings to Lord Jason may be sent to his ship, The CORBOSSY, via a P O Box in Dallas, Texas...

Oh! Lord Jason! I...I meant to talk with you about that...

I want to give Jason a warm, brimstone-smelling Chelaxian hug! Dwarven love for the win! ;)

+10

to add, the witch is a fantasy STAPLE...how it was not core 30 years ago i don't know. It a heroic version of the adept...FINALLY

the alchemist?!?! i can't even accurately express how excited i am.

A comparison i would like to make here

D&D 1st Ed - Batman (1989)
AD&D - Batman Returns (1992)
D&D 3rd Ed - Batman Forever (1995)
D&D 4th Ed - Batman & Robin (1997)
_____
Pathfinder - Batman Begins
APG - Dark Knight

yeah the first few where cool, started it all, but years later we look back at and go "what were we thinking? I could do better." --- Thus Pathfinder is born...as if the other 4 never existed.

As of today, i run my games with the core rule book, bestiary, magic item compendium, and a binder. soon, it will include the Game Masters Guide and the Advanced Players Guide!

I won't say its a man love.

I will say there is a savior-like quality to Jason, having been the right person at the right place at the right time - AND delivering the right things, the right way.

Perhaps it was fate/destiny or luck chance... either way, my appreciation is more a spiritual one than a man one, but appreciation nonetheless.

Thank you Jason.
Keep up the great work!

-Pax!

Oh Pax, you dualist you! Someday, you should join my Man Spirituality group... ;)

This thread is sexist and excludes women from expressing their excitement for the new classes, Shame! SHAME!

Can I join? My beard may tickle, and my breath smells of brimstone, but otherwise I'm as spiritual and manly as a [dwarven] male can only be!

well, I referring to my man love for Mr Bulmahn, but I apologize for any offense

I am quite sure Mr Bulmahn would not mind any woman expressing their love for him

Sure. I was thinking we would call the group Man-Spirit. We could sound bull horns, beat cow-hide drums, grill beef over open fires, and wash it all down with high proof beverages.

Ackward.

Bill the Cat reference?

Hey wow! Another thread for us to rampage through! I had wondered where #1 and the Lord Jason had been.

Can there ever be enough threads to rampage through?

Probably not. They're like china shops - I just can't get enough of them.

Ah, fine china... The catnip of minotaurs.

Dark Archive

Are there any Romanian women here?

Bulmahnaut #3 wrote:

Fixed that for you.

If I could find a hot Romanian woman who owned a china shop, I'd be heaven.

Sounds *GREAT*! I'll bring some dwarven spirit(s) into our solemn gatherings! I also know some... er... friends who know a thing or two about hellf... I mean, fire - maybe they can join as well?

No Devils or Diabolism Allowed.

Erects sign at the edge of the magic circle around sweat lodge.

What was that?

Although it won't be in time for the playtest, when our group finishes their current story line we've already talked about doing Council of Thieves with a party made up entirely of the new character classes.

Yeah, the new classes are really cool. I'm looking forward to playing them.

"Noooo.... Little Tim, come back! Come back to Daddy! That nasty treeface didn't really mean to hurt you!"

(Damn, it took me three months to lure my traumatized Pit Fiend from the cellar after showing him my naked dwarven dance around the Core Rulebook!)

May I bring four of my friends?

(Joseph, Carl, Robert, and George)

Sure, why not. As long as they are not naked dancing dwarves.

Sovereign Court

Though the first two are dead, I'll bring the first three's immortal philosophies bound in print, and mayhaps a dvd player for the last one's first trilogy. If we're beating drums in a sweat lodge we would be walking their path. Can you guess their names?

How can you not love Jason?

He's the only guy for whom I ever wrote a personal theme song (albeit for a goblin choir).

I'm guessing the last one is George Lucas.

Robert Bly...

Joseph Cambell...
Carl Jung...

I'm not coming up with anything for George other than CB's guess. If so, I'd view Jung as kind of the John the Baptist in the group.

A+ professors! Well done.

Starting with Jung, one can trace Man and His Symbols to Campbell's Hero of a Thousand Faces, then on through Bly's Iron John seen through the eyes of the contemporary space opera, Star Wars, from Lucas.

No self-respecting sweat lodge, or male spirituality group, would be complete without the presence of these four imho. We have all four to thank for much of what has been "best" about in fantasy roleplaying and this genre's greatest stories. And much of this explains the expression of man-love for Jason, at least mythically, as he has delivered, in some quasi-promethian sense, a new fire to gamer-kind. Its possible that Jason is the Christ-like figure, sent by the god, Mona, who brought to us a new covenant in gaming. This epic struggle against the pharisees of the coast is truly a symbolic story for anyone who believes that in every revolution there is one man with a vision.

All of this is the story of a new generation of gamers finding their own paths to becomming Jedi, like their father before them. This has been a hero's quest for sure. In our humble way, we have taken the ring to the mountain by creating a new iteration of v.3.5 under the OGL that continues our traditions and thrives for 3PPs, and we have also survivied the darkness of the Empire's attempt at a monopolistic GSL.

So, no matter what form it takes. This was an epic journey, and yes, it is some kind of love we share as a Pathfinder RPG community.

I am ashamed to say that I have never heard of Robert Bly. What would be a good starting point for his works?

Spoiler:
another excuse to go to HPB. What?

So you guys *DO* love me, regardless of Mairkurion and Yoda trying to claim the opposite? ;)

I could send you the pictures, if you want me to? Don't say automatically 'No!' to naked dancing dwarves, because that is prejudice and outright speciecism!

(besides, my flaming beard covers my private parts... at least in two or three pictures! ;))
