Hey, I was trying to get an idea of Brentaal IV was... For some reason it wasn't clicking even with descriptions like, "It sat at the strategic intersection of the Perlemian Trade Route and the Hydian Way."

So... I went looking for a map. Is there a better one than the searchable PDf found at: http://www.xs4all.nl/~wrvh/galaxymap/

Spoiler:

For my background I was wanting to make a brief visit to the Nuns of G'aav'aaar'oon... Who will leave quite the impression on my character and began his journey in learning about the Force. Unfortuantely, the best I can place them is the Vodilux Star Cluster which I can't find on any map or with any google search. Can we just say it's within a short distance of the Brentaal System, say 1-2 hops?

** spoiler omitted **

Mr. Marius:

This is a great map you found. Brentaal IV (or just Brentaal) can be found at the intersection of the Perlemian Trade Route and the Hydian Way. It is in the Core worlds and is fairly close to Alderaan.

Spoiler:
I can't find G'aav'aar'oon or the Vodilux Star Cluster anywhere either so I'd say its fine to place it in the Outer Rim near the Perlemian Trade Route or along the Hydian Way so its not too far a stretch for you to have wound up on Brentaal.

so i'm yet to come up with a solid background, but i see Kael coming from the Jedi Temple in Coruscant. So I think a connection to Corvus is very possible.

HK-22 has been a Jedi training droid for a very, very long time. Frequent memory wipes have left him bitter and prone to violence. In fact his latest forced power down came after he led a group of Jedi younglings on a lesson on stealth in the wilderness. The exercise ended when HK-22 abruptly stunned them all while they were standing near the top of a cliff, leading to numerous broken bones and bruises. His only explanation: "Statement: Jedi must learn never to trust their comrades too must and to expect the unexpected." In a strange fit of irony, this advice came shortly before Order 66 ended the Jedi Order. More recently he rebooted onboard a strange space station, probably traded as junk from the Jedi Temple. Masterless and without purpose, he has decided to pursue a career as a bounty hunter. After all it combines hunting and violence; what more could a glitchy droid want?

Quote: "Statement: mindless violence never solved anything. But it did make organic life much more interesting to watch."

Okay, just a couple of backgrounds people are still working on and haven't heard back from Thomas Thiessen (Rogen Horle) yet but I think we will start on Monday everyone. Stay tuned for the PbP and OOC Discussion threads for Dawn of Defiance Episode 1: The Traitor's Gambit!

=Excited!

A bit of background....

Kael was identified as force sensitive as a new-born on his homeworld of Coruscant. A short time later, as is customary, Kael was taken to the nearby Jedi Temple to begin his life as an youngling.
Right from his earliest trials with a training saber Kael showed great promise as a lighsaber combatant. This drew the attention of human Jedi Knight and one of the lead practitioners of form II lightsaber combat, Tegan Cath. His time as a padawan was not unlike that of any other. He accompanied his master on countless missions, Including a couple on the front lines of the clone wars.
Cath and Kael returned to the Jedi Temple in the waning weeks of the Clone Wars, Merely days before Order 66 was executed. When the 501st and Darth Vader attacked, Cath ordered Kael to run. Kael did as instructed by his master and fled the temple. His escape was only made possible by the self-sacrifice of his master, Who fell to clone trooper fire before Kael's eyes just as the young Padawan slipped away.
As instructed by Cath, Kael Fled Coruscant and followed the Perlemian Trade Route as far as his small supply of credits would carry him. He finds himself now at an unsuspecting space station orbiting the Core World of Brentaal, Sel Zonn Station. A Pull from the force holds him here.

Also...

Because of the similar upbringing, I would suspect that Kael and Corvus at least know of each other, So perhaps they've met up since arriving on Zel Tron Station?

That makes sense to me...

I much prefer the PDF of all three pages. The second page has all the close up sections (where losts of systems are practically on top of each other) and an index... And best of all it's searchable. =)

I fixed my statblock, and am working on the background.

Simple version is that he's from Alderaan, joined the Imperial navy, got sent to an Imperial prison ship, freed by a rebel force, and escaped to Sel Zonn station. No love for the Empire.

Looks good Rogen.

Okay everyone, the game thread for Episode 1: The Traitor's Gambit and the ooc thread for Episode 1 are now up. Let the gaming begin!
