What nonsense do you speak sir... it is clearly 8pm. My computer and grumbling stomach tells me so (stupid late dinner).

Exactly. And I'm just waiting for Mrs. Zombie to finish getting ready so we can go to work.

True. Everyone's lucky to have JOE.

Anyone ever read the Marvel Mangaverse comics?

He's with me right now, clearing the cobwebs from my brain.

Dark Archive

JOE and I parted ways many years ago. He just wasn't right for me.

Lucky. Caffeine makes me sleepy. If I don't get enough sleep, I'm totally screwed. There is nothing that helps get through that. And I have insomnia. I'm just glad I get a couple weeks off before the kid starts summer school so I can at least not be sleep deprived for a few days.

Have you ever been screened for ADHD? Caffeine tends to have a calming effect on people who have it.

Yep. I do indeed have ADHD. Can't take Ritalin because it doesn't like my antidepressant, so I often use coffee to help me focus.

I use coffee at different times of the day for different reasons. In the morning it wakes me up, at lunch it's like a treat, and in the evening it is relaxing. I don't seem to get all hyped up from caffeine so much, but I get serious migraines without it!

When I first started working for the Navy, all the older guys swore I'd be drinking coffee within 6 months. Well, that was almost eight years ago, and I still can't stand the stuff. I'm not really sure why.

Some of the guys around here though, man they might as well have I.V.s of the stuff.

I wonder what Navy coffee (GI Joe? Salty Joe? Joe Jack?) tastes like. That could easily be the problem. One of the highlights of my Spanish adventure was the coffee. God bless Barcelona, they know what they're about. (Josep)

I'm not sure, but if it's anything like what my dad (who is ex-navy) makes at home I'm guessing something along the lines of drinking charcoal briquettes. Blech. Don't get me wrong. I love coffee. A world without coffee would be a very sad place. But that is *not* coffee. That is the sad remains of what might have been coffee once.

I'm pretty sure they periodically use it as a paint remover, and I swear that a ship once used it as an emergency fuel.

I have a few different kinds of coffee in the cabinet, Naturally I have Plain Starbucks, as well as Cinnabon, Kiss Cafe' Jamaican Rum and hazel nut, espresso, and I think there is a Starbucks Vanilla up there! Any flavor for any mood! I love coffee!

If you have a sugar mamma/daddy, have them get you an Illy instant espresso maker for some good coffee.
It's still mind-boggling to me that coffee that good can come out of a pre-ground pod. Much better than Starbucks.

Eww...Folgers doesn't deserve to make it. I mean, there's drinkable beans from Five O'Clock and Community Coffee that won't break the bank--but Folgers? SPLORCH!

Seriously, you can't spit in my building without hitting a coffepot. And pots are being brewed from before 0600, all the way through to the evening. My building alone must be like 1/5 of Folgers annual revenue.

If you want coffee try this for info and for price try here. Tom Clancy made this popular in his Jack Ryan series of books. I nominate this blend for the cabnet

I agree Folgers is not worth it. I have had better

Hey, what do I know. I don't drink the stuff. That's just the only brand I could remember.

and lest you think I overlooked the fact:

Coffee belongs to the Domain of Nature.

Lord Secretary of Nature, I beg of you to make all coffee Jamaican Blue Mountain

I just keep a nice Sumatran blend on hand, in an air-tight canister at room temp, ready to be ground when I want some coffee. I use flavoring syrups for when I want something different. I have hazelnut, vanilla, raspberry, and probably a couple of others that I've forgotten about.

Probably a good time to mention that I'm something of a foodie. That's why I'm such a good cook.

I just commissioned an initial study for Operation Mount Jamaica.
It will study the feasibility of raising the elevation of the rest of Jamaica to maximize the land that may be used for Blue Mountain coffee cultivation. After all, aside from beaches, what else is the land in Jamaica for?

Jamaican Blue tastes good, but for some reason it doesn't agree with my stomach.

Sumatran is very Good.

Costco has a Rwandan coffee that has become my regular coffee. Quite a bargain for the quality.

I don't really do the whole fru-fru coffees like what you get at Starbucks. (Not that I ever go there, since it's never organic and rarely free-trade. If I don't brew my own with the french press, I go to the Beanery.) I like my coffee black, with cream, or a cocoa mocha (rhyming unintended). But the purpose is to be bitter.
