JH and LJ arrive at the Sanctum. JH hurries to the counter.

Acme, we need a room please.

Anticipating getting a key, JH grabs Lyn's hand and they rush upstairs before any other catastrophe can interrupt them. ;)

I can appreciate that sentiment... ;P

A Stranger appears in the middle of the main floor. He turns slowly in a complete circle, gazing at each person and thing in the room. He sniffs the air. One blink of an eye later, he is simply gone.

For those touched by or in command of Board Energy -

Spoiler:
His gaze pauses on you for an uncomfortable moment

Even before the droid makes his move has a room key in his hand. He follows JH LJ upstairs.

Bouncer tunes to Sunny G on a higher telepathic frequency. His telepathic processes is converting transmitted across the astral planes of telepathy in an series of light encoded pulses

"Hey Boss, Sorry to distrub your mediatations but it seems some uninvited smoe is teleporting in and out of the Sanctum. Ya want me to ready the wards and barriers, I mean especially with that dragon threathing and tithe, you'd think he was important or something."

Replying on the same frequency...

"Inform the hidden solar and gravity. have them observe, but do not interfere with any intruders. If they become unmanageable they may eject them off the Sanctum grounds. I have sent word to Alaina and Corin."

An elder air elemental blows into the Sanctum. He stops, looks around, and speaks politely.
"Excuse me. I am looking for my granddaughter, Lynora-Jill. She said she was going here. I have something I need to show her if you could please tell me where I can find her."

"Ah Elder Elemental, I am honored by your presence. You're charge left in a hurry, however I believe she will retun to Sanctum very soon. Do you require refreshment?"

"Thank you, Sun god," he says respectfully. "But I thought she had returned here from the Grove," he adds confused. "At least that was the intent expressed by herself and her mate."

They may still be their yet. If it is no bother I can send one of my elementals as a messenger. I would dishonored if I had seen you to the Grove for nothing.

"I would appreciate that, Sun God. I have a surprise for my granddaughter, and I wish her to see it. I think it will provide some much needed encouragement after a series of setbacks."

A nondescript seeming woman, who does not create any particular impression on the minds of other visitors to the Sanctum, discreetly wanders about the place, taking in the sights and sounds.

The dwarven lord of a mountain stronghold, with his retinue of half a dozen guards in mithral plate, wanders the tables of the casino, spending his gold and socialising with the various guests.

"As you wish."

From the floor rises a being of elemental force, feminine in its silhouette.

"Seek Lynora-Jill in the Grove and have return here immediately. Tell her, her Grandfather wishes it so."

The elemental nods once respectively and departs.

He approaches the Dwarven Lord and his retinue.

"Compliments of the House Sir. Four waiters each carrying serving trays topped with tankards and flagons of the house's strongest dwarven brew. If you need anything else, call me."

My servant informs me that she's here right now. She is being paged as we speak.

LJ comes downstairs looking happy and relaxed. The stars in her scar are still twinkling. She stops to talk to Acme.
If Jack Hammer asks where I am tell him I needed to stretch my wings. I promise I won't go far. He's sleeping like a baby, she added with a smug smile. I doubt he'll even notice that I'm gone.

"Granddaughter!" the air elemental boomed. "I have been looking for you. I have something to show you."

LJ turned around with a smile as she heard her grandfather's voice. The smile wobbled a little as she saw him with SunnyG. She wondered if this would ever stop being awkward.
"Why have you been looking for me?"

"Come with me and I will show you. It's a pleasant surprise, I promise."

"Alright, alright," she said with a laugh. "Where are we going? Or am I not supposed to know that?"

"Follow me. You will see."

Azuri'ith waited for her to follow then went outside and flew towards the mountains, making sure that she was following close behind.

JH smiles as he sleeps. Lyn doesn't realize the connection is this much stronger. He flies thru the earth as she glides above it. The Eyrie is beautiful but he sees it in another fashion than she. He sees/feels the life there. He glides back to their bed, and dreams of other things.

Retrospective post

My thanks. the dwarf nods. Your hospitality is to be commended. Although some of your other guests, his brow darkens for a moment, are fortunate to be granted hospitality by the master of this house; out of respect for my host I will not say any more.
Later Berholm moves off through a portal to the Bazaar, where he currently is; he is due to return to the Sanctum at some point later.

Sploooooorrrrrtch

JH descends the stairs, waves to Acme, and departs via the omniportal.

Returning after a couple of hours, JH sits in the lounge and enjoys a Dark & Stormy.

LJ lands outside the Sanctum, thanks her escort and sends the two starhawks back to the Eyrie. She walks in and sees JH sitting in the lobby. She walks up to him, eyes twinkling with excitement. (In her case that's rather literal as she has stars in her eyes.)
I just had the loveliest surprise. You'll never guess what my grandfather and the Winds have done.

JH waits to hear it, as seen thru Lyn's eyes.

What could it be, that puts such a sparkle in your eyes?

I had sent my grandfather to try and find allies, but I never expected...

They've built the most magnificent place, an Eyrie for all of our new allies to live in. It's in the Mountains of the Wind, and they've set the nests into a pattern to look like a swirling galaxy, and there are beautiful rooms set into a cliff face with enormous balconies for the convenience of those of us who fly. And there are so many, many new allies. Celestial eagles, and something called a starhawk, and invisible stalkers, and a very odd djinn, as well as of course the air elementals. I never expected so many to come. Oh, I can't wait to show it to you.

"Man, I feel so left out.... I think I'll try a Dark and Stormy. Where's that droid?"

Thanks. Haven't you know, ever transformed into a motorcycle or large robotic dinosaur?

She gave him a beaming smile. As soon as you like. They have an omniportal set up in the main room of the cliff complex.

Let's head there 1st thing in the morning. We still have our room 'til then. *wink*

Hey you kids! GET OFF MY LAWN!

Well in that case, we should head back upstairs, she said, taking his hand and heading for the stairs. It would be a shame to waste a perfectly good private room.

"Sigh..."
KC pops in.
"Things are not going well. I have attempted, without success, to bring back the Kittens. The Lemmings are decimated, and must retreat from this war to recover. And I just received a prophecy from Plantjack. I didn't know he could do that....I knew he was good with divination, but not this good. I told him about Braaktor and he just looked at me and said,
'Death of the Winds could draw near,
Death of us all, I'm afraid I must fear,
The death of a prophet is a sign of the end,
We shall take wounds that cannot mend,
Barriers fall, wards will fade,
An old friend no longer, you shall grow to hate,
This is a sign of the end, and we must think fast,
Or this battle could be our last
.'

LJ pauses halfway to the stairs and turns around.
KC, that makes no sense. The Winds are doing just fine, although we certainly had a close call. And when Bwaaktor's spirit spoke to me, he seemed to be at peace, he said that it was his time to move on to the next step. And is that prophecy supposed to be suggesting that we have another traitor in our midst besides the one who already revealed herself?

"Perhaps. Or somebody we haven't seen in a while. I don't know.

"If we lose, the Winds--or a least their home--will die. As will everything here. So, yes, the end of teh Winds--and everything--could be upon us."

LJ shrugs and heads upstairs. After all, the end of everything had been upon them for a good long time now and dwelling on it didn't really help with the making plans to avoid it.

I avoided something once......I think it was a job, but it may have been a rabid dog.

Alaina flashes back to the Sanctum. It has been so busy, discussing the new threats looming on the horizon. There was still a temple to run!

She sees many folk enjoying the pool, casino and the nearby beach volleyball. She sees Acme bartending a decent-sized crowd

Acme, how have things been?

*BEEP*

Busy Miss Alaina. But other than temple business nothing has occurred. I did see KC talking to Miss Lynora-Jill earlier

KC rolls in, looking shaken.
"I have some bad new--"
A cloaked figure appears.
"I'm back..."
KC is blasted by Board Essence.
"...to finish the job."
There is a bright light, and they are teleported elsewhere.
...as I take a break.

The Warden appears via the omniportal. He walks to the site of the attack on KC. He kneels, and sniffs the ground. Tracing a finger along the blast mark that few can see, he touches the essence to his tounge.

Spoiler:
It tastes smokey, and unpleasant. For the Board Warden, it registers as Dark Board Essence (essentially normal Essence, but from all the evil parts of the Board).
