Male Human Ranger Level 1

As Gaedren's last breath is driven from his body as Marra finishes with a coup de grace, Dorran just spits in the dead man's direction as he sheathes his blades. He helps Sorin search the room, not quite knowing what to say to the griefing sorcerer.

Male Chelaxian Cleric 1

After the coup de grace of Marrala , Clandru sighs looking at her sorrowfully :
"I hoped better of you but it's understandable. Ah well ! let's bring the corpse to the authorities then . It won't be the same thing but it'll help. "

Male Human Rogue 4 AC:18 T:14 FF:14 / HP:16 / Init:+4 / F:+2 R:+8 W:+2 / CMD:19

Pavo looks up at Marra as she places her hand on the sorcerer's shoulder. Tears are readily visible at the corners of his eyes th those that look at him. The scene is certainly a strange one, a fully grown man, being consoled by someone so young.

Snapping out of his daze, he takes his cloak, and wraps it around his sisters dead form. Then carrying her body, he will meet up with the rest of the group as Sorin goes about looking for items of worth. "Please make this quick, I don't want to be here any longer than we need to be." Pavo finally says as he kicks Lamm's dead body when he passes by it.

CotCT GameMaestro

judging by what you've been hearing going on outside, the city seems to be rioting...taking the corpse to the authorities would be a bit difficult...Marra hasn't delivered the killing blow yet...she is dragging him to the dock, to give him to the shark...

CotCT GameMaestro

The shark that is in a near frenzy, due to all the crocodile blood in the water...

Marra leaves Pavo and returns to Gaedren's corpse, dragging him to the dock. She looks at Calliope's razor, then fold it up and returns it to her belt. She stares down at the helpless Gaedren, then just pushes him into the water...consciously not mutilating him...she removes her mask and drops it in the water with Gaedren...

"Torture is not needed...Justice is done."

remembering a line from Acts of Iomedae "No longer lost, I am now reborn..."

She turns away from the water before it churns with blood as the Jigsaw takes a chunk out of the sinking Gaedren...

She returns to her companions, there is visibly less weight on her shoulders, the hate and anger gone from her face. She seems more at peace now.

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

"What has been done here tonight is a strike at the cowardly! An assault against the corruption of Korvosa. We have delivered the young ones from the wolf named Lamm..."

"I feel I have ascended past my childhood finally, I will take a new name, Now call me, Marra Warblade...I am The Phoenix".

CotCT GameMaestro

As fury of the battle calms down, you look around Gaedren's room...

This foul-smelling room seems to be a combination
bedroom and study. A wooden bed with
a lumpy mattress stands against the east wall,
while a round table heaped with dirty plates, bread
crusts, stained goblets, fruit rinds, and scuttling
cockroaches sits nearby. At the foot of the bed sits a
large strongbox, a slighty rusted lock securing its
lid. A sagging dresser filled with moth-eaten
clothes well past their glory days is in one
corner—what appears to be a wooden
hatbox surrounded by a small cloud of
flies sits atop this dresser.

The footlocker was locked, but the keys were in on the bed, knocked loose during the battle. Each of these treasures is wrapped in cloth and tied shut with twine.

Spoiler:

The treasures include a narrow teak cigar case
inlaid with tiny bits of jade and nearly full of cigars, a 2-pound gold
ingot bearing the Cheliax coat of arms, a
miniature gold crown, a fist-sized scrimshaw
carving of a kraken with garnets for eyes,
a silver ring bearing the inscription “For
Emmah—the light in my nights,” a highly realistic and
highly scandalous ivory figurine of two entwined succubi, a masterwork shuriken, an adamantine arrowhead, an abalone-shell holy symbol of Shelyn , a tiny glass tube containing an oil, an obsidian wand, a crystalline vial with a silvery liquid, and
a bejeweled brooch with a broken clasp.

Even to an untrained eye, this brooch is obviously the
most valuable object in the entire collection. The circular
gold brooch depicts a pseudodragon and an imp coiled
around each other in an almost yin-yang pattern. The
pseudodragon’s eye is an amethyst, while the imp’s eye is
an emerald.

Zellara's Harrow deck is not in the Footlocker.

Male Chelaxian Cleric 1

"No ! Don't! We need the corpse to prove to all the ones he wronged he is finally dead and their loved ones avenged ! "

If Marra does it nonetheless
"This was vengeance , not justice. "

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

"Fine priest, I won't feed him to the sharks." Marra states as she draws Calliope's war razor and quickly puts him down. "Painless, quick, justice is done."

"Do what you will with the corpse...would probably give the shark a stomach ache..."

CotCT GameMaestro

Where do you plan on taking him? Now that you're on the dock again, you can definitely hear rioting, and see the orange glow of fires in the city.

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

Marra heads over to Sorin, "Did you find Zellara's harrow deck?"

Marra looks around, "Gaedren really slipped over the past few years, he was never this withdrawn before...and he didn't just slaughter the Lambs in our time...not like this..."

"I wonder if the children are still above..."

Male Human Rogue 4 AC:18 T:14 FF:14 / HP:16 / Init:+4 / F:+2 R:+8 W:+2 / CMD:19

Pavo never wanders far from his dead sister's corpse as he helps in searching the room. However, his search seems half-hearted at best, for though it seems that a weight has been lifted from Marra's shoulder's, it seems that the world has been placed on Pavo's. Though he hears the rioting, he pays it no mind as he goes through his inner turmoil.

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

"Pavo, if we could find a way to raise your sister, would you want her returned from Pharasma's realm?

Malv made the decision to have her be dead, doesn't mean she has to stay that way...

Male Chelaxian Cleric 1

Somehow , I think a raise dead would not be sufficient there . I doubt the corpse is whole specailly after staying in Gobbleguts stomach for a while ...

CotCT GameMaestro

Spoiler:
Raise Dead

School: conjuration (healing)
Level: cleric 5
Casting
Casting Time: 1 minute
Components: V, S, M, DF (diamond worth 5,000 gp)

Range: touch
Target: dead creature touched
Duration: instantaneous
Saving Throw: none, see text
Spell Resistance: yes (harmless)

You restore life to a deceased creature. You can raise a creature that has been dead for no longer than 1 day per caster level. In addition, the subject’s soul must be free and willing to return. If the subject’s soul is not willing to return, the spell does not work; therefore, a subject that wants to return receives no saving throw.
Coming back from the dead is an ordeal. The subject of the spell gains two permanent negative levels when it is raised, just as if it had been hit by an energy-draining creature. If the subject is 1st level, it takes 2 points of Constitution drain instead (if this would reduce its
Con to 0 or less, it can’t be raised). A character who died with spells prepared has a 50% chance of losing any given spell upon being raised.
A spellcasting creature that doesn’t prepare spells (such as a sorcerer) has a 50% chance of losing any given unused spell slot as if it had been used to cast a spell.
A raised creature has a number of hit points equal to its current Hit
Dice. Any ability scores damaged to 0 are raised to 1. Normal poison and normal disease are cured in the process of raising the subject, but magical diseases and curses are not undone. While the spell closes mortal wounds and repairs lethal damage of most kinds, the body of the creature to be raised must be whole. Otherwise, missing parts are still missing when the creature is brought back to life. None of the dead creature’s equipment or possessions are affected in any way by this spell.
A creature who has been turned into an undead creature or killed by a death effect can’t be raised by this spell. Constructs, elementals, outsiders, and undead creatures can’t be raised. The spell cannot bring back a creature that has died of old age.

Now, does that mean it has to be in one piece? or just all the parts have to be accounted for? She might be missing an arm, but crocs tend to swallow smaller thing whole...the death roll sometimes removes an arm or leg as it kills it.

Spoiler:
There has always been several interpretations there . But what I meant is after some days in a croc stomach , omme parts must already have been processed ..

CotCT GameMaestro

Spoiler:
Crocs have a very slow digestive tract...cold blooded animals tend to. She would be good for probably a week or two, I would rule.

Male Human Ranger Level 1

Dorran looks down at the corpse of Pavo's sister and back to the young magic user with a sense of sorrow. He mutters "No one should have to go through this" Dorran then offers the use of his cloak as a makeshift stretcher to carry the young one's body back. Hearing the commotion outside in the city Dorran offers to take point and help lead the group through the the city

Male Chelaxian Cleric 1

Thank you but I need to take care of the children up there .
If I can reunite any of them with their parents , I'll be happy .
And seeing Lamm dead should help them put all this behind them .

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

Marra leaves Pavo in peace, and checks in on Sorin.

"Sorin, did you find Zellara's Harrow Deck? It is one of the reasons we're here, to recover and return Zellara's Harrow deck to her."

Male Human Rogue 4 AC:18 T:14 FF:14 / HP:16 / Init:+4 / F:+2 R:+8 W:+2 / CMD:19

Pavo nods his head in thanks to the party's kind words, but after a few moments, simply says, "No, her death in my penance for not finding her in time. Life is like time, not so easily reset after it's time has past. Besides, my family are but minor nobles, not possessing the money needed for such a costly spell. Once we find what we need, let's get out of here. We must make sure that the children are safe, and i must return my sister to her parent's estate." Once the search is complete, Pavo takes the bundled corpse of his sister in his arms and follows Dorran as he leads the back to the street.

CotCT GameMaestro

Clandru:

Spoiler:
As you return to the upper levels, it's eerily quiet, no sounds of the children at all...as you continue to look, you come across giggles, though you had stabilized him earlier, he's dead now, you examine him and it appears he's been beaten to death by small hands...you find a dead gnome, with a note pinned to his chest...and an unconscious human, (Yargin) barely clinging to life. You do not find any of the children though, the Little Lamms have left the building. They're freed.

PC Puppet:

Sorin: "No, her Harrow cards aren't in here. There's a nice looking pendant though..."

Sorin:I know it's rough losing your job, so I'll post for ya...good luck with the grievance letters

CotCT GameMaestro

Dorran:

Spoiler:
You recognize the pendant, when you were formally inducted into the Sable Company, the Queen was wearing it...what was Gaedren doing with it?

CotCT GameMaestro

Anyone who's looking in the footlocker...obviously Clandru went upstairs

Spoiler:

Zellara's Harrow deck is not in the Footlocker.

CotCT GameMaestro

I'll post a list of everything the bad guys had tonight...(Giggles might be missing few things...)

CotCT GameMaestro

Items on Yargin: acid (3), tanglefoot bag (2), thunderstone; Other Gear leather armor, dagger, light crossbow with 10 bolts, garnet amulet, key.

Items on Hookshanks: studded leather armor (small), kukri (small), disguise kit, key.

Items on Giggles: studded leather armor, light shield, flail.

Items from Gaedren: masterwork dagger, masterwork hand crossbow with 8
bolts, ring of keys.

Male Halfling Rogue 2

Just got back from Paizocon so don't feel to bad :)

Sorin throws the tangle foot bags, thunderstone, garnet amulet, disguise kit, and Gaedrens weapons into the chest and closes the lid.

Sorin then looks around the room and notice the box with all the flies around it. He slowly approaches and inspects the box.

Perception for traps: 24

CotCT GameMaestro

can't throw that stuff in the footlocker, since Clandru is the only one upstairs currently, and that stuff is up there...

Sorin looks in the box and is startled causing him to lose his grip on the hatbox...Zellara's severed head comes rolling out, poorly preserved and decorated with unsightly makeup in a crude attempt to give her sagging
flesh the semblance of life. Several maggots are knocked loose when it hits the ground, she's been dead longer than when you met her...

A small box that was under the stump of her neck hits the ground, pops open and harrow cards scatter across the floor. Hand-painted images decorate this Harrow deck, the frames gilt in silver so that under lighting they sparkle and flash. Despite the worn condition of the card backs, the images on the faces are so vibrant they seem to move when
viewed out of the corner of the eye.

Male Halfling Rogue 2

"Ah guys, I found the deck of cards. Some thing else a little puzzling." Sorin says and start gathering all the cards together in a hurried way, almost as if he wants to get them away from the head.

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

Marra sees the head roll out of the box.

"By the gods, what is going on here? We just talked to her a day ago..."

CotCT GameMaestro

As Sorin begins to pick up the cards, Zellara appears on the bed...

"Thank you my friends...you have recovered my Harrow deck, Gaedren and I unfortunately cross paths several weeks ago and I ended up in this state...now my spirit resides in my Harrow Deck."

"I know destiny has touched all of you, I have seen it in the cards...my death was part of that destiny, for it made me seek out my killer's location, and in turn I found you."

"You may use my house during the turmoil that has gripped the city. Decide what to do next."

"Do you have any questions for me?"

Male Halfling Rogue 2

Sorin trys not to drop the deck of cards again as he stares at the women and her head on the floor. "Ah..... I think I am good."

Human Inquisitor of Iomedae 6

"PAVO! Come in here!! some magic is hapnin!!!" Declares Marra after she stares at the figure of Zellara...

"So, you uh, weren't at your house?"

Zellara replies, "No, that was an illusion just like this is. My spirit is tied to the Harrow Deck as I said before, so I can project myself from them, but it is quite taxing, so I can only do it once per day."

Male Human Ranger Level 1

Dorran eyes widen a bit at the form of the woman who started them on this quest so to speak. His military training refusing to show more emotion than a simple wide eye look. The only question Dorran asks "Whats going on in the city? Why is everything in tumoil?" He pauses for but a moment and adds more to himself than anyone else "I hope my squad wasnt called in to action. If so then we need to move and I need to join my brothers in arms."

CotCT GameMaestro

As if on cue, You hear the sound of a Griffon shrieking and the building shudders, dust falling from above...

"I can not know what is not in range of the cards, only that destiny is at hand...something, grand is happening, and you play a major role in the destiny of Korvosa."

Male Human Rogue 4 AC:18 T:14 FF:14 / HP:16 / Init:+4 / F:+2 R:+8 W:+2 / CMD:19

Hearing Marra's shout, Pavo turns from his search to see Zellara's Ghost materialize from no where. His sadness seems to fade for a second as he exclaims,"Amazing!! An otherworldly manifestation attached to a worldy object of obvious value to the spirit."

Zellara turns toward Pavo

"I'm less a ghost and more of a projection Unicorn, I can also project into my surroundings, when you were in my house, it looked as if the house were lived in, but when you return there, it will not look that way today..."

it appears that Zellara thinks of you as the cards she sent you, as she called Pavo, Unicorn.

Male Chelaxian Cleric 1

Clandru sighs seeing the children have left the building not being able to stop feeling in a way it's a failure of his leadership .
He moves towards the nearest exit and look outside

CotCT GameMaestro

Clandru:

Spoiler:
As you look out the doorway, it quickly becomes
apparent that something terrible has happened. Korvosa
is in flames. Smoke rises on the horizon. The frantic clang
of alarm bells sing out in harmony with a multifarious
cacophony of screams, the clash of steel on steel, moans,
and even the periodic detonation of arcane power.

Amid the chaos, the voice of a Korvosan herald cuts through
the din: “The king is dead! Long live the queen!” only to
be shouted down by ragged cries of “Hang the queen!” and
“The usurper whore must die!”
