DM X |
There wasn't an easy way to climb down until Marra stung up that line, (not safe anyway), and I was giving you the opportunity to react to Sorin and the gnome. This is basically a giant hole leading 15 feet down to the river below.
and you haven't made a climb check, so I dunno if you fell or not...
Marrala the Lost |
I believe I have been climbing down now for a long long time ....
As usual you are speaking of yourself , I'm speaking on behalf of all the parents , brothers , sisters , lovers of those Gaedren has killed .
Marra visibly reddens at Clandru's words."You are a fool priest, yes I do it for myself; to avenge Calliope, and my brothers and sisters, those what suffered under Gaedren's ministrations. Those children above, Sorin and Dorran, we lived a hell you can't begin to imagine. Don't even begin to judge me."
Pavo Alazario |
Pavo, seeing the two doors, ignores them for now. Believing the children, his sight is set on the open bay where this 'Gobbleguts' is supposedly kept. Then hearing the argument between Marra and Clandru, he snaps with "Enough of this bickering, the more time we spend up here, the less of a chance that my sister is alive!" Focused on his search for now, he ignores Doran's comment about the wand, leaving the wand for after he is sure his sister was safe. This was the closest he had been to finding his sister and he wasn't gonna let Gaedrun take her away from him again.
With that, he descends the rope quickly and smoothly, seeming almost like the monkey that was still playing watchman on the roof of the Fishery. Obviously, his search was fueling the young man to push himself much more than the aristocratic man may have otherwise.
DM X |
Pavo rushes down the stairs, behind Dorran, who of course is behind Sorin, who was kicking the body of Hookshanks down the stairs...
Dorran didn't hesitate to climb down, then Clandru began his climb, but he seems to be climbing down carefully...so Pavo impatiently waits to descend.
The argument occured during Marra's descent.
Clandru KRUPTER |
DM X |
As Clandru makes his way down the rope and begins clamoring through the support structure, Pavo impatiently waits, then skillfully slips down the rope and slithers across the pylons and braces with amazing agility, beating Clandru onto the dock.
Perception (Sight:DC 15)
Perception (Sound:DC12)
You hear the water ripple below the dock as the jigsaw shark slides below you.
Dorran Kelvar |
Seeing that no one showed any intrest in the wand, Dorran quickly places it in his pack and draws his shortsword as he does so Dorran uses all his training to concentration to listen on whats going on Perception (Sound)(1d20+5=14)
Dorran slightly tilts his head as he catches people shouting and says to the group " You guys hear that?"
Pavo Alazario |
Pavo takes but a moment while they wait for the others to get down the rope to look around and he notes the flicker of fire on the water. Looking up, he then notes that parts of Korvosa are on fire and all he can wonder is What is going on?
DM X |
Under the docks...
A narrow space exists under the fishery, with about four feet of
room between the floor of the building above and the languid,
foamy river water below. Wooden pilings support the building,
and moss and cobwebs hang thick from ropes and rusted chains
between them. A wooden walkway floats on the river surface,
winding along the inner wall of pilings that supports the building’s
frame above, leading from the sodden barge to the east all the way
west to a wooden door that leads into an understructure below the
fishery’s land bound half.
Marra slams the door open, Dorran pushes past her with his bow drawn...
The air in this large room is somewhat chilly and stinks of the river, no doubt thanks to a huge opening in the floor that drops away
to the river shore five feet below. Several pilings emerge from the
waters to support the roof above, with mossy ropes slung between
them. In two places, rusty manacles hang from the ropes over
the water. Two five-foot-wide walkways cross the hole’s edge to
the other side of the chamber, where a collection of old cabinets,
lockboxes, and piles of clutter are strewn about. Chipped porcelain
plates, a cracked goblet, badly rusted silverware, an old wooden
shield with a crossbow bolt embedded in it, the odd dinged helm,
and other “treasures” litter the floor of this entire chamber. Three
tables, their tops heaped with additional clutter, stand amid this
mess, while just west of that a wooden door seems to provide
access to a walled-off section.
Gaedren is across the way, near the open door opposite this one. He's grinning an evil grin. monologue time. "Marrala, and Dorran...never thought I would have seen you here...thought you had goblin stomachs...Marra, Marra, Marra, I'll gut you like your little Calliope, nice n slow... "
"Who else is there with you...oh little Sori..." Gaedren says in a condescending voice, shifting to a threatening voice. "I should have fed you to Gobbleguts rather than let Hookhanks have his fun with you..."
Gaedren looks past the others, seeing Clandru, "What are you doing here?" then he looks to Pavo..."You look familiar...ah yes...you must be the big brother, you can join your sister soon! In Gobbleguts belly!!!"
"HAHAHAHA"
With that he lowers his hand crossbow and fires it into the water as he ducks into the other room...
The water surges as the bolt hits the massive crocodile
If Dorran hits with his shot, there would be an ugh, and he fires early
"Dorran! You'd make a perfect Lieutenant in my new outfit...turn and strike that wench down...then cut down that hafling...we shall rule this city, my brains and your brawn!"

Gaedren attempts to intimidate Marra, and succeeds...as Marra seems to shrink slightly as Gaedren's word strike her weak point, she's shaken.
Marrala the Lost |
Initiative:1d20=9+2-2=9
Marra is visibly shaken, her bravado stolen from her by her tormentor. Tears well up in her eyes, as she steels herself for the confrontation, she slowly hefts her blade, as if the weight of the world lies in that blade, she begins thinking of Calliope, trying to get the nerve to do what must be done. Then marra looks at the falcata, and places it in its scabbard, and draws out Calliope's war razor, slowly opens it... "Calliope, you will be avenged." she mutters.

Attack (1d20+4=6)
As soon as Dorran steps into the doorway, he sees Gaedren and the ranger takes his shot but the vision of the old man seemed to still haunt the young man as his shot was wide left.
"Time to end your reign of terror Gaedren. You tempted me once for which I still bear many of the scars. It shall not happen again." Dorran shouts

Gobbleguts makes a beeline toward Dorran, his latest transgressor...launching himself out of the water snapping down on Dorran's leg, its entire weight pulling Dorran toward the edge of the walkway and into the water...

DM X |
You have to beat it's CMD...of 24...or Escape artist (DC10+opponent's CMB)
Grapple
As a standard action, you can attempt to grapple a foe, hindering his combat options. If you do not have Improved Grapple, improved grab, or a similar ability, attempting to grapple a foe provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver. Humanoid creatures without two free hands attempting to grapple a foe take a –4 penalty on the combat maneuver roll. If successful, both you and the target gain the grappled condition (see the Glossary chapter). If you successfully grapple a creature that is not adjacent to you, move that creature to an adjacent open space (if no space is available, your grapple fails). If you successfully grapple an opponent, you must continue to make a check each round, as a standard action, to maintain the hold. If your target does not break the grapple, you get a +5 circumstance bonus on grapple checks made against the same target in subsequent rounds. Once you are grappling an opponent, a successful check allows you to continue grappling the foe, and also allows you to perform one of the following actions.
Move: You can move both you and your target up to half your speed. At the end of your movement, you can place your target in any square adjacent to you. If you attempt to place your foe in a hazardous location, such as in a wall of fire or over a pit, the target receives a free attempt to break your grapple with a +4 bonus.
Damage: You can inflict damage to your target equal to your unarmed damage. This damage can be either lethal or nonlethal.
Pin: You can give your opponent the pinned condition. Despite pinning your opponent, you still only have the grappled condition, but you lose your Dexterity bonus to AC.
If you are grappled, you can attempt to break the grapple as a standard action by making a combat maneuver check (DC 15 + opponent’s CMB, this does not provoke
an attack of opportunity) or Escape Artist check (DC 10 + opponent’s CMB). If you succeed, you break the grapple and can act normally.
If you have your target pinned or otherwise restrained, or unconscious, you can use rope to tie them up. This works like a pin effect, but with a + 5 circumstance bonus to determine the DC to escape the bonds (making the DC equal to 20 your CMB). The ropes do not need to make a check every round to maintain the pin. If you are grappling the target, you can attempt to tie him up in ropes, but doing so requires a combat maneuver check at a –10 penalty.

Pavo Alazario |
Focused on the wretched form of Gaedren Lamm, the man who had murdered his sister, Pavo seems to enter a strange state of mind as he advances on Lamm (Moving to F,6) and mutters off a short cantrip, launching a glob of acid through the air. Unfortunately, in the man's rage, he severely miss judges his aim as the acid splashes against the door frame, scorching the wood.

Gaedren reloads and pops out from behind the door and launches another bolt at Pavo. "Yes boy, come to me, you can see your sister..." The bolt burying itself in Pavo's arm.
