Drives up in a white, mud-splattered truck. Gun rack, check. Longhorn hood ornament, check. Yosemite Sam mud flaps, check.

C'mon, Froggie, hope in the Escalade EXT and I'll drive ya back.

YAY!

Hops in the truck and leans up on the dash

Sounds like a plan. Okay, launch me. I wanna see where I land. And don't worry about the lawsuits and lawyers. I have more than enough wealth to pay them off.
*takes dragon to the Jack catapult* Ok, where would you like to go? How about the knights thread? With your size you'd go through the castle wall and then you'd have a chance to munch on a few knights. I know how you dragons like knights.

Launch me towards the Kobold-Free zone. Someone needs a belly-flop.

Ok, here ya go! *launches the dragon to the Kobold-Free zone*

The air shimmers as a small snoring frog appears in the pond, asleep on a Cthulhu floaty.

*SNNNARAPGRP*

The small frog snores on. A small furless pink rodent is curled up on his tummy.

Wwwwwwaaaaaahhhhooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Dragon takes off like a bullet.

The small frog wakes up

Wow! Dat was an adventuresome day! Maybe dat Mr. Tex will take me mudboggin' in his eskylade today! Or maybe the Jacks will catapult me agin'! YAY!

*takes lynora and froggie where they want to go, comes back and dives for the bottom of the pond*

Jack Hammer arrives at the Frog Pond to seek out the old treant. Somehow he knows the right direction without asking. The treant sleeps, but JH won't wait. After asking, shouting, and knocking on the treant to no effect he bangs his hammer on the ground in frustration. The ground shakes, and the treant stirs.

Young one. Why do you disturb me in this manner?! And with that vile weapon!

I want answers!

The treant sighs. You young ones are so impatient. What are your questions? Perhaps I shall answer them so I may get back to sleep.

What happened to me?

You were made into a weapon, a Champion of Destruction, using knowledge from the Elders. The Earth chose to make you her own, a Champion of Life, to contain this threat.

Why do you call my hammer 'vile'?

Because it could not be turned.

What are these markings on my body?

The first are the Forms of Death, runes of antiquity. The second, The Tree of Life, protects you from the first, lest you be lost and need to be destroyed.

Destroyed?

Yes...

JH is at a loss for words. He grows fatigued and falls at the base of the treant. His sleep is dream-free.

The Emperor, 7th of his line, watches over him but keeps a wary eye on the hammer beside the metal man.

The treant senses great magic at the Jack Clubhouse but is unable to leave his vigil over the one called Jack Hammer. The threats still exist. More heroes will be needed. Too much hangs in the balance.

*Flies on JH's shoulder*
Hey, you okay? I wish KC were here...I don't know how to read this book... *motions to the tome which KC was using to free Lynora* ...and without it, I don't know what to do. These tattoos...they feel ancient, and powerful. I only know of one thing which could equal their power, and only in the right hands.

Huh?

Hops to the big golem, wasp and treant huddled on the pond's shoreline

Hey guys! What are you doin' dere? Hey Jack guy! Will you catapult me today?

Gives big froggie eyes to JH

Are you the Champion of the Winds, little one? Perhaps not, but I sense great energy within you nonetheless.

The little one sleeps but will awaken soon. His battle is an ancient one. The Kobold's tome you carry is ancient also, and will play its role in things to come. Guard it well. It's knowledge can be misused.

The time of battle draws near but is not here yet. Not yet. All of the players have yet to reveal themselves. The Seas have not spoken, nor revealed their place in this struggle.

May I beg a favor of you Wasp? Might you deliver this seed to my Brethren of the Skies? It is most important. Please ask them to not eat it.

Jack Hammer wakes to blinding pain. He is lying on his stomach. It feels as if his back on fire. He rolls onto his back to extinguish the flames he senses. At the earth's touch the sensation fades.

As he gathers his breath he recalls the conversation with the treant, and wonders if he will ever be normal again.

He is startled by the frog staring at him with sad eyes. I remember this one.

Froggy I am going back to the Clubhouse. Do you wish another ride in the launcher?

Gathering up the little frog and his hammer he heads home.

YAY!

Hops on the golem's shoulder

Alright...but I am no Champion of the Winds. I am the Champion of the Board, as KC's heir. I only hope I'm up to it, I haven't had much time to learn the secret lich art which he used.

A whistling sound echoes over the pond

Spoiler:
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

A small green frog lands into the center of the pond with a huge splash

YAY! THAT WAS FUN!

Spoiler taht, please. And please stop making posts that stretch the screen.

Shoo wasp!

The small frog waves his webbed hands at the grouchy insect

I wonder where my pal Mr. Tex went off to?

Wanders down the shoreline and picks up his Cthulhu floaty

After listening to the conversation, Kiba walks up to the treat

and asks: "Ancient One what are these threats? And why do I feel drawn to protect the land from them?"

*DbJr. rises from the pond, and walks up behind Kiba*
"I too, feel the need to know this answer. What are these threats?"

"I am one."

GAH!

Gets in his Cthulhu floaty and starts paddling rapidly away from the dracolich that has appeared

FLIPPERS DON'T FAIL ME NOW!

*blows out candle*
Well that seemed to easy. Probably didn't work...

Indeed, it did not.

The dracolich speaks words of unutterable power, and the Bard bursts into flame.
Not dead, just in significant danger. Candle Lighter is very powerful now.

There is only one thing I want, Wasp. And that is the Cleaver. As KC's heir, I know you can lift the wards. I WILL be the Champion of Flame!

Flinging his arms out, the flames disperse

"Do not think that, just because I'm a bard, I can't put up a fight!"
As he starts to sing, light swirls around him, infusing his very soul with unimaginable power.
"I am a Seeker of The Song, and you would be wise to flee this area NOW!"

Well, I am the Champion of Flame, so I should think not!

The dracolich blasts The Bard with flame incredibly hot, seeing taht this could be dangerous.

So your not wise?
*Throwing his hand up, the flames slide around him to dissipate harmlessly behind him*

"You'll have to better do than that, you foul imitation of life! I've lived ages more than you, and shall live much longer!
*light flies out to slam into the dracolich's chest*
"If you leave now you may be able to save your hoard from the sellswords I showed it to."
*He smiles gleefully as even more musical light enshrouds him.*

I have no horde, fool!

I am thrice your own power, human!
The dragon blasts him with pure eldritch energy.

Shadow Lodge

A goat of flame blocks the dark energy.
"You've entered the wrong dragon's domain lich. This is a battle you won't win. My son has battled KC and lived to tell about it. Imagine what I can do. Your battle is elsewhere, and all residing here are under my guard. Leave. NOW."

Looks back at the pyrotechnics

YOWWWIE!

Paddles faster

...

Fine. I shall kill you all later, but I need my strength.
It teleports away.

"Nicely done Dad. It seems he has fled."
*looks back at the treant*
"What was all that about?"

Shadow Lodge

*begins constructing a massive amount of wards and alarms*
"Hopefully we will be ready next time and can evacuate any who do not wish to fight."
*turning to The Bard*
"I thank you for your assistance old friend. It will be appreciated by all here for a long time."

Shadow Lodge

The Bard wrote:

*grumbling*

"You said you wouldn't mention that."

"Hey Dad, I'm gonna go look for others to help if theres another fight. I'll be back soon."
*flies off*

*flies back, tired and wing sore*
"Ive done what I can, but the choice is theirs to make."

Lynora-Jill flies in and lands on the shore.
Is all well here? The Champion of Fire went on a rampage last night. It attacked the Jacks and did much harm. I wanted to make sure that it hadn't harmed any of you as well.

The wasp smiles grimly.

So, Jay told me you're the Champ of the Winds. We ARE screwed, aren't we? Two champions of minimal power, who couldn't hope to win, a Champ of Flame, who can't be hurt by the Jacks (meaning that two of our Champs can't hurt it), and to boot a super-powered Dracolich who CONTROLS the Champ of Flame. And one of the most powerful folk here is trapped in someone's brain and can't help us.
This. Sucks.
The wasp starts to fly off, then stops.
Wait a minute...could it be?
I've gotta get the book.

Let me know what you find out! she calls after the wasp.

This was certainly depressing. She wasn't a fighter, but the flame creature had to be stopped. And the wasp had been right, she couldn't truly hurt the creature since it used the power of the Jacks. This was probably what Brwaaaktor had been referring to when he said that wind fanned the flame. Blast!

Since there didn't seem to be anyone hurt here she once more took to the skies.

Not for lack of trying. If not for myself and Db3, I doubt the Wasp would be free right now. DbJr went to ask for help in placing defenses, but it would seem none are willing to help.

Would you like some help? While not able to defeat the dracolich I could distract him long enough for you to get the book. Like the oceans, my song can be gentle, or full of fury...

Suddenly, the Cleaver flies at top speed through the thread. It pauses for a moment, then lets out a strange, loud noise.

Thank y--hey! That's the Cleaver~ The wasp flies over and grabs the Cleaver, somehow able to lift it.

Yes! We have a shot!
I have to get going. I need to get the book. There is no need for you to help.

We were busy fighting battles of our own last night. The Champion of Fire is somehow powered by the Jacks own energy. Which basically means that we're screwed.

Energy of that power... How was I able to stand his flame?

*The Bard begins to look worried*
If he was the Champion of Flame, does that mean there could be others?
