Here comes 5th Edition already...

4th Edition

1 to 50 of 99 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

Quoted from Kobold Quarterly issue #5:

-----------------------------
KQ: Fair enough. Last question: How is the work on 5th Edition coming along?

Andy Collins: <BLAM!> Thud.

KQ: I swear, the readers voted that as their favorite question. My apologies for even making you think about it.

Rob Heinsoo: Jonathan Tweet is probably hard at work on it.

Andy Collins: If my experience in the last 2.5 editions of D&D has taught me anything, it’s this: One of the key contributors to the next edition of D&D just started working here within the last year, and another one doesn’t even work here yet... and we don’t know who they are. Let the guessing commence!
-----------------------------

Anyone still want to agree that handling D&D like an MMORPG and CCG game is good for the game and still makes it D&D, or can we all finally agree that D&D is truly dead and we have this abomination, 4E and beyond, in it's place to compete with WoW?

This is hilarious.

That is all.

I think Razz needs a gentle hug and some cookies...

And possibly some pudding.

Nothing makes you smile like pudding.

Where is Lilith? She's Mistress of Cookies ... and the Dark Arts.

Honestly, does this post serve any useful purpose?

Other than to point out some people don't know how to get a joke? Not really.

HEY RAZZ! Always great to hear from you, buddy. I love your fresh perspective on things! It is just awesome.

Have you considered maybe getting a new hobby? You seem to have a great deal of angst about this one. Maybe you should take up knitting?

Have a great day Razz!

There's no real need to get angry over anything Razz posts. It's so off the wall and extreme that it's entertainment in its own right. Though it does make me wonder what medications he's on and I do sometimes try to guess when he misses a day or two based on his posting habits.

Good point :P

Scarab Sages

I'm confused.

It's a joke that Razz (with wonderful tunnel vision) took as serious, by the looks of things.

Keep 'em coming!

Or is that flame wars? I get confused.

Ha ha! Just kidding everyone. Even I am not so stupid or trollish to think this is any sort of evidence of fifth edition. It's just that I saw it while reading my enormous collection of 4e information and got so excited I had to share. I love 4e, but I think a 5e would be even better given how much 4e improved 3e.
I love 4e!!!

4e 4ever!!!!!

Next we'll be arguing ninja vs swashbuckler around here. What PHB will they be in, anyway?

From the business perspective, if 4e 'works' as well as 3E when first published, and it follows closely to WoW and CCG's in terms of style/philosophy, it follows that 5E will come. With each generation of change ' role playing' will eventually be very different than what we are used to mechanics-wise. As long as it doesn't change story-wise or fun-wise fine. The problem is, based on computer game culture, I fear that those pillars will change too. Sigh, I hate getting old.

One vote for 4e ninja. The 4e swashbucklers won't see em coming.

Oh, and for what it's worth, 4e Superman would kick 4e Batman's butt.

what this thread needs is a cute picture of a squirrel

I adore them. Why look at my profile and you'll see since the launch of the profile function that I have been a squirrel apologist.

Yes, but the thread is moving slowly. Maybe someone will come along and give it nudge.

I don't think their talking about anything.

They both have secrets - no surprise everyone does.

My guess is beyond that their just playing to see if they can get others to start trying to find out their secrets.

I could, of course, be wrong on whats up but thats my guess.
