Verzale |
Verzale waits for Tuon and Scarrd to ask their questions, still hanging back and uncertain of his acceptance.
"I hope you can help me as well - or you may know someone who can. My adopted father served under General Dameon Garrett. The General patrolled the Bluetip Mountains. For some reason I was told to come to Keeper's Dale. I've no idea why, and I have to follow up any leads I can."
He thinks a minute.
"If you know about psionic warriors, can you explain why Scarrd reacted so violently when he saw me? What would do that? I have no memory of Scarrd at all. I've never been this side of the mountains since I was six months old or so I've been told."
Bri Leagallow |
Bri wanders about waiting for everyone to get done chattering away.(Bri thinking to herself)'They are like a bunch of old witches having nothing better to do than to take up others time. Well I guess I could go and see if anyone needs to be lightened of anything, but then she think better. "Oh my Scardd your awake!! Nice to see that you joined the land of the living. I missed you! Now can we go" Bri says to the group.... You boys are mean and I will hold out on the DM until I get a fun little spoiler!!:)

That would be on the "to have and to hold page" but for some reason they omitted the "to have and to hold out" part in all of you boys' books!

Garl smiles, "Garrett you say? If you mean Lord Garrett, I don't know if you can talk to him real soon. He was appointed ruler of Keepers Dale by the Gilead throne and oversees the city counsil. As far as the half-ors reaction, it could be a number of things but few causes would be psionics."
Scardd nods his head in agreement with Skiddifig, “Alzo, Zu zaid iitt wazzz beeeger, and zu cut iitt down. Do zu ztill have zome piezez? Do zu know vhere zey got ze zlab?”
Scardd’s speech speeds up with excitement. At times he just sounds like a buzzing bee.
Garl peices together Scardd's request and nods, "Over on this shelf I have a couple of the pieces with some of the runes."
Fair Tuon Clawed |
"So these adventurers.. you don't happen to remember where they found the stone or perhaps who they were, do you?"
Tuon looks around to make sure no one other than the party is listening in.
"And as for this psionics, I have it growing in me like a disease. What can you do to help that?"
Bri Leagallow |
Bri listens to what people are saying but since she missed the first part of the discussion (I was wondering around) she really has no idea what they are talking about so she starts to daydream a bit while trying to piece the info together. Do you ever wonder if this is what I am actually like??

Do you ever wonder if this is what I am actually like??
All the time … :)
As Tuon questions him further, Scardd moves over and checks out the pieces of stone. His eyes scan the runes and workmanship for any incite.

Sorry busy weekend.
For Verzale and Scardd if he could roll decent numbers.
"Wait--you say that these adventurers sold it to you? What were their names? What did they look like?"
Garl looks down at the halfling, "Yes a group that lives in Narath-Dur, two humans and two dwarves. I didn't get there names but they acted like I should know them. They must be pretty important in Narath-Dur."
"And as for this psionics, I have it growing in me like a disease. What can you do to help that?"
Garl's eyebrows pinch together in a frown, "A disease? Where are you from warrior?"
DM Dreamweaver |
"A village to the south. A place where no one could do what I can and they would kill me if they found out."
The mercenary bluntly looks at Garl, "You got it too? Did it get worse in you?"
The cracking of white knuckles on his sword hilt ends the warrior's queries.
"Worse? I wouldn't say that. If you are from Forlorn then you have grown up to fear your abilities and I can see where you would feel like it is a disease. I am one of the few that have accepted and nurtured my abilities and yes they have grown, but I wouldn't say that was bad. As you have probably known the psionic people are tied to the Demon Wastes some how and unlike the majority I don't believe the Demons were summoned on purpose. If you want to find out more about your abilities the Wastes are the place to look, but beware the Ancient Lands of the Psion are dangerous and shouldn't be explored by inexperienced adventurers."
Garl waves his hand around the shop, "I have been collecting relics from the ruined cities to the west and have slowly learned more about our people so I will help you when I can. For now just be careful who you share your secret with and do not be afraid of your gifts."
Garl turns to Scardd, "What is so special about the stone table?"
\-*^/ |
"Arcana of some kind for certain. They don't mean anything to me though."
“Mean Nozzing to me either,” Scardd says to Verzale. He shakes his head again, “Theze markingzzz tell me nozzing.”
Garl turns to Scardd, "What is so special about the stone table?"
The Half-Orc turns to regard the man, “Ze table and iittzzz runezzz were familiar, but from vhere, vy cannot zay. Thiizz table or at leazzzt vhere iitt came from might have anzwerz zat I zeek.” Scardd turns back to stare at the rock pieces once again just incase there was something that he missed. His ears perk up as Creed speaks.
Bri Leagallow |
Bri seeing that maybe they are getting ready to get going moves over to Tuon to see what he is looking at. "So are you ready to get out of this place yet? I really think that we should get going but for some reason everyone seems to have forgotten what our "job" is. Now don't get me wrong I want to know what is up with the big guy just like everyone else but I really don't do well staying in one place to long." Bri starts to say something else but then realizes that she is pretty sure that Tuon isn't hearing a word she is saying so she just stands in silence.
Creed of Kord |

Creed perks up at this. "Let's get going, then, yeah? We've got an ambush to ambush! Haw!!"
Fair Tuon Clawed |
He mulls over the people going about their business and speaks without looking away.
"Bri, you're right. Talon's job matters. But so does Scarrd and I'd be waiting here if it was you too. Got to help the man just the same."
He notices the way one man keeps bumping into people as he walks, trying to decide if its an accident or not.
\-*^/ |
Scardd turns and shakes himself out of his comtemplation and self-absorbtion when he hears his name, "Zu are right. Vee have a job for Talon to do. And vy have a new plaze to look for anzwerz after. Thiizz plaze called Narath-Dur. We go now. Zet ze ambuzzhhh."
The Half-Orc looks briefly at Garl and says, "Thank zu," as he nods.

The walk out of the city is quick but hectic now that the merchants are in full swing on the main drag. Brightly colored wagons packed with crates and tarp covered bundles slowly make there way through the city. As you walk you feel a small shake in the ground every couple seconds and a load trumpeting sound can be heard up ahead around a corner. Soon a group of ten of the Keeper's Watch are quickly clearing away pedestrians on the street. The shaking increases and a Huge elephant standing over forty feet at the shoulders slowly walks around the corner. Red cloth is tied between it's four twenty foot tusks and you can see a small shirtless elf covered in tattoos and piercings stands on the beasts head. He carefully taps the the monstrous elephant on the head with a long stick directing it slowly down the street. Pulled behind the creature is what looks like a six story mansion on wheels. Exotic birds fly around the moving building and perch on the arched roof and you can even see a large tiger peering over a balcony. Elves walk around on walkways and several elf women barely covered in thin flowing silk watch the crowded streets below occasionally waving. One of the women with several tattoos on her arms and legs tosses a single flower and it floats down to Creed landing in his hand. The women waves at the big man and the rest of the girls giggle as they pass you by.
Know. Royalty and Nobility DC 10
Tuon and Bri consider this roll trained since you are from or have been to Forlorn
Know. Royalty and Nobility DC 18 Tuon and Bri same as above
After several minutes the huge wagon rumbles by and the road is open again, walk to the western gate is quick since most of the crowd followed the monstrous elephant to see it leave.
As Carrie promised she set up a wagon with some empty crates, barrels and a large bail of straw wrapped in a tarp. "Well here is your wagon, kill those bandits and bring it back." says the surly dwarf women.
Creed of Kord |
Creed smiles broadly as he gently catches the flower and waves in return. "Just beautiful," he says, a faraway look in his eyes. He sighs and moves on with the rest of the group.
Creed's Knowledge Check (1d20-1=13).
In response to Tuon he says, "Xorian."

Creed the flower in your hand looks like an orchid. The five petals surrounding the center flower are red with white stripes leading up from the base of the petal that slowly turn pink at the tip. The main bell shaped flower in the center is a dark red on the outside and the inside a dark burgundy almost black.

I love the detail you give there big guy, how about you bring your wife a beautiful flower like that or at least draw her one!
Verzale |
"Never seen anything like that before. Astonishing. Creed, may I look at the flower? I'm curious."
If Creed is OK with that Verzale will use his Know(Nature) to see if there's anything he can identify about the flower. Other than it being beautiful

Scardd watches the big animal and the moving building in complete astonishment. Memory or not, he has never seen or could possibly imagine such a thing. He watches the flower float down into Creed's reaching grasp wondering the significance of the act.
---------------
Scardd moves along when the small parade passes by and eventually reaches the waiting wagon. With a nod, Scardd says, "Thank zu. Ve return vith zour wagon intact and bandiittzzzzz dead."
