That's cuz we all get angry, but not necessarily at the folks we play with! My rant:
Cheaters! I HATE playing with a cheater. Ultra beefed up character with three multi-classes has died twice and supposedly spent XP on a Weapon of Legacy (which he then proceeded to play wrong, the DM didn't catch it, and then he argued when the rest of us protested!), and the character always seems to deal max damage, never gets hit, has saves so high my assassin character wouldn't even bother trying for a death attack (14th level) OR poisoning, etc. etc. GGGRRRRRRRR! And on each dying experience, player has thrown a temper tantrum at the table over their character! Good grief! It's just a frigging game! And your bad actions are ruining MY fun.

A couple things to get out of my system before we play tomorrow.
We've been slogging through SCAP for two years, which is annoying in itself. We've just started the 5th (?) chapter, rescusing Alek Tursival and going to the Demonskar and what not. So, it was our DMs birthday last Wednesday. He wanted to play and then maybe go out. We, the players, were very surprised since this rarely happens, seeing as he will cancel a session for no reason. He walks in and loudly proclaims "It's my birthday and I want to kill some characters!"
We hoped he was joking. He wasn't. He dropped my character once, another twice, and then finally completely obliterated another player's character. There was Walter goo all over the floor. It was nasty and mean. That's a normal part of the game, right? I mean, character's die, the game goes on, whatever. But what really pissed me off was the fact that he took such sadistic glee out of the entire thing. I don't know how it is for other groups, but the other DMs (who are playing in this campaign) try our hardest not to permanently kill a character. It sucks, it slows down the game, and we feel really bad about it. The players stops having fun, has to roll up another character, reintroduce them to the campaign, etc.
The DM has started taking real world issues he has with the players and taking them out on us through the game instead of trying to fix them. He got mad at the group a few months ago for completely ridiculous, immature reasons and 'quit playing' for about 6 months. The man is 36 years old and throws fits worse than a 5 year old. The only reason I agreed to keep playing is becuase I adore my character so much and need to know what happens in SCAP. The others feel the same. I don't know what to do about this at all. He's not my friend, and never really has been, becuase he's a condescending ass . If something like what happened last weeks happens again, I'm quitting. I don't care if he thinks I'm being immature or a b~~&$, cause he's immature and a b~&%+. He can throw a fit and call us all names but that doesn't change the fact that he is the reason this is happening. SO HA! The only reason he doesn't like me is becuase his girlfriend is my best friend (ok, seriously, she's 23 and he's 36. how weird is that? totally different rant about crazy people in my life) and talks to me about issues they're having. They have a lot. So, he then tries to pump me for info that I refuse to tell him and then he gets mad. GRRRR! WHY?!?! What the hell is going through his head?

By the way does anyone know where this wolf head avatar comes from? Any insight appreciated.
Well... there's really no way to tell you where it's from without a spoiler. So, if you REEEEEEAAAAALLLY want to know...

I hate people that hate Eberron. Yeah, it's got lots of stuff that seems more Sci-fi than fantasy, and it uses magic to act as technology. Well you know what? It's not part of the core rules, so if you don't like it DON'T BUY IT! It's the same as all the other settings out there, if you don't find something engaging about it then whip up some homebrew.
I hate people that blame anime and manga for making people want to be uber-powered freaks of nature in-game. If someone's going to munchkin, they're going to munchkin even without watching anime. That being said...
I hate people that try to make their characters carbon copies of anime/novel/video game/movie chracters. Get your own damn imaginations! When I'm DMing I make around 12-20 one dimentional characters and 1-2 intensely backgrounded, deep characters every couple of weeks. You're telling me you don't even have time to come up with a basic premise for a unique character?!
....Yeah, that feels better.

Savage Tides... kill Demogorgon... NO Graz'zt? WHAT?!
Out of all the Prince's they leave out Graz'zt, who's hatered of Demogorgon is as old as THACO. And their reason: He's busy messing with the Spider Queen, ALONG WITH HALF THE REST OF THE ABYSSAL LORDS! I play in the FR. She has her own frig'n plane now, Graz'zt has no reason the be pissy with her.
And what about the Witch Queen. Have you seen her stats. Its like my worst powergaming player nightmare... BUT 100% D&D APPROVED!!! Why even give you her stats? Who's going to attack her? Why, why, why, WHY?!
- calms himself -
On a less yelling note, why not include Graz'zt considering the interconected points of the AP's so far. He played a major role in the SCAP background and his half-fiend-lich priest was the second to the last fight. They had a chance to bring things full circle and blew it.
The rage is gone. Only sadness remains.

I know. I know. I am at such a loss. I DM STAP on Sundays and my dad is on a hiatus, which pisses both of us off becuase we know that we could be doing some really coooool stuff with those parties right now.
As to Grazzt in STAP, you could play up Tyralandi's role in SoSc more since she's an agent of his.

F~%~ bad things happening to good people, and good people just making terrible decisions. "Friction" between my best friend's father and stepmother has basically left him and his dad homeless. I won't get into it, especially since it isn't even happening to me, but I really wish there was more I could do as a friend. I guess it has to be enough that he knows he can always stay at my place, any time day or night and that I'll do whatever I can (in the realm of legality) to help him out. It just sucks that sometimes the phone can ring and one day your life is just completely upside-down.

I'm crushed today- my cat just died. She started acting oddly about half a week ago, dissappeared last night, and was dead in the garage this morning. I'm 19 and I've had that cat since before I was 10. She was a stray, and I never did know how old she was. She just seemed to be timeless- as the years wore on, she seemed completely unaffected, with only a barely perceptable slowing in her levels of energy and attitude.
It may sound strange to some, but you don't have to be human to be a member of the family and a friend. She was both to me.

I know exactly how you feel. The timeless feeling, the horrible surprise when it happens, and then the intense mourning afterward. My childhood kitty passed away a few years ago, and I just...crumbled. My condolences, and internet hugs! *hug*

It isn't strange. Loss of a loved one, for many, is not lessened by the fact that those lost were of a different species. I am so sorry.
One of my own dear cats is dying slowly from neoplasia in the lungs. It could be any day or week. What's worse, I have to work away from home and can't spend the time with her that she deserves.

Bummer, almost as bad as me having to have my previous cat put to sleep 2 years ago.
She was about 12, and according to the vet her kidneys had shut down, which left me with the choice of ending her pain then and there, or waiting a few days for her to pass on.

Almost as bad, a comparison of relative pain, isn't appropriate here.
I'm sorry for your loss as well. I had a cat wheezing his last in the vet's office many months ago. The vet called to say, "Come now. He's going to pass any minute." I'm not one for putting cats down, but he was dying in the vets' office and was in the last stages as they were attempting to euthanize him. It was so terrible.

I am so sorry. My childhood kitty went out in a very similar way. She disappeared and then we managed to pull her out from under the shed, only to see her go horribly the next day. I spent that night holding her and crying, terribly confused as to what was wrong with her.

Sorry dude...
As the owner of three cats, I feel your pain. In fact, I have found that I hurt more inside when one of my pets die than when a friend or family member dies. I had a siamese cat (Cleo) who died last year right after christmas, and I still get water in my eyes thinking about her (I have water in my eyes right now). I think it's their pure innocence that make it tragic for me.
Again, sorry dude.

My condolences. I can understand you perfectly. I have a 1-year old dog, a precious Shih Tzu named Tsuro, who has become in this short time my best friend. I cannot imagine now my life without him. I try to spend most of the time I can with him because I really enjoy his company. For me it's more than just a pet: it's a friend, a confident, a brother.

I bought my tires from Firestone. At the same time I also purchased their free lifetime alignments package because, well, curbs have a certain attraction to my tires.
Yesterday I called them to ask if I needed an appointment for the alignment. They said no, bring it in and it will be done in about 30-45 minutes. I take it in today, having planned my day around the appointment, verify again they will get it done, and go do my other errands. I come back in 60 minutes and they haven't even taken the car inside yet and tell me they won't be able to for another hour or so. They said, "Well, we only have 3 guys working and ya know, I didn't know." They couldn't at least have called me on my cell or let me know????? Grrrrrr.

Thanks everyone. I'm impressed by the outpouring of support. It means a lot. I'm doing fine though- I've got plenty of good memories to last me, and feeling bad is, well, not fun at all. So I'm trying not to be too down about it anymore, and doing pretty well. I'm no stranger to loosing pets and even loved ones, and while it's never easy, it does provide one with a certain philosophy that helps you cope. Thanks again.

Get a kitten ASAP, that definitely helps, especially when it starts developing it's own personality.

I hate my desk. My writing space is so screwed up and uncomfortable that it makes it a drag sometimes to sit down and crank out some words. I've got decent equipment, far too many computer's than I can justify with a straight face, but the desk and chair are extremely lacking.
Nearly all my furniture in my house is reclaimed. I'm a 31 year-old guy living in a house furnished very much like my house when I was 21 - only with different, and in some cases more, junk. The only new furniture I've purchased in the last 6 years is a new mattress, and it sits on the ground frameless. I really don't care about the appearance of my home furnishings. I'm no Home & Garden photo shoot, nor could I ever dream of living that kind of suburban museum exhibit life, but a desk is essential.
Here's a quick rundown of this piece of s+*#. The surface, and I use that term with hesitation, is a shelf from a 18"x36" set of Metro shelving (you restaurant workers know what I'm talking about.) This wire shelf spans an old, cheap two-drawer filing cabinet and a nightstand my Dad and I built when I was 6 or 7 (that I had since spray painted chrome when I was a teenager). I've got a cheap Target desk chair that I received as a Christmas gift last year that is already squashed flat under my hefty 145lb ass. This makeshift desk's tiny surface holds my keyboard center front, a stack of Dungeon and Dragon magazines with random notes, papers and (eek!) bills interspersed between. The rest of the surface is cluttered with a random CD case or two, a coaster, a notepad, an ashtray, my speakers and what ever else that can't fall through the 3/4 inch gap between each wire 'rung'. My two monitors are sitting on stacks of milk crates three-high each. The computers are on an old coffee table someone was throwing away, off to the left side. The monitor for the second computer is on a single milk crate to my left, so when I'm in the chatroom my head is turned 90 degrees to the left. Now, my wife has a proper, albeit assemble-at-home particle board, desk. Her computer sits nicely below and the monitor is at a good height. Plenty of room to actually write or draw on paper without having to have a book on your lap. She also has another one we bought years ago in her extra room that she uses to display the minis she's painted and the random bugs and stuff we find and take home.
I hope I've horrified some of you enough that I will feel guilty about my makeshift squalor and actually go out and buy a new desk. I'd actually like to make a new desk all custom-like, but that would require me going to someone else's house to use their tools, and that's always a hassle - for me and the tool lender.

I hate my desk.
Cheapest option in the world is to go get a door slab from the Home Despots, the uncut, unpaneled perfectly flat super cheap door, and a couple of 2 drawer file cabinets. Lay Part A on top of part B1 and B2, and you get a lot of work surface, some drawers, and best of all, no tools needed.
If you have a slipping problem, get some of the rubberized drawer liner stuff, it will lock everything in place and still come apart so you can move it.
may not be as cheap as some Wal*mart particle board desk, but it won't come apart the first time the humidity goes up, and you get way more space

I can't either; some of them are very tasty, and no, I am not kidding, and most of them are just trouble. Imagine the horror of playing with some cute baby lamb or goat, and believe me; they are really cute and lovable, only to find a few weeks later that your eating one of them for dinner. A few years of that and no furry animal is cute and lovable anymore. Several people in the communtiy I grew up raised rabbits and sold the little babies to pet owners and stores to feed their snakes. I never understood peoples affections for cats, birds, reptiles and various rodents. We had cats growing up; bout 10 or so; they lived in the grain barn, but you rarely if ever petted them; they kinda just did their thing and caught mice (they are really cruel to mice too which takes away a lot of their cuteness. hehe I guess puppies are cute when they are not peeing all over the place or eating your shoes or the furniture, or; hey, I guess they, like most things; are not cute until their asleep.
I guess now that I have been a city slicker for a couple decades, I am loosing my rural resitance and think other peoples puppies and kitties are cute.

I still haven't got the seventh Harry Potter book yet, which has been surprisingly not bothering me. I'll get to it sometime this week, and I have plenty of stuff to do to entertain me besides read the book.
However, some a$$@&!& on YouTube has been posting spoilers, MAJOR spoilers, on random videos all over the website. I don't read them obviously, but every time I see one, my eye catches on something new and yet another little piece of the book has been told to me.
My only hope is that he's making crap up, and in case he isn't, I'm know being forced to not read the comments on any videos on YouTube in fear that the book will be further spoiled.
