Fun, Adds Variety, Easy to Use

5/5

Not much can be said. These are great and easy to reference. Similar in size to magic cards. Easily fits in a small deckbox or binder.

I used to be an adventurer like you until I took a critical hit to the knee.

Hmmm. The preorder page say 55 cards, the spiel here says 52 and the box art says 53. Which do I believe?

I am guessing that we have 52 cards that actually show critical hit effects and three other cards that may or may not be counted for various purposes.

It's a 55-card deck that uses 2-3 of the cards for the OGL and credits and such. It was the same with the previous decks, we just listed all the cards in the box instead of differentiating between playable cards and non-playable cards.

Can this deck be used with 1E?

Possibly, but there is a separate Critical Hit Deck for Pathfinder First Edition.

Soo I hear you saying that they are NPC's and therefore doesn't count? ;)

Oooooooooooooh!! Nice new box art!

No PDF of the cards? That's a shame, I'd love to use them for online play.

Is there going to be an app?

I would liike to see a pdf or another document for this and the Critical Fumble deck so that I can use these in my campaigns in Fantasy Grounds as well as around the table.

Can anyone comment on how this differs from the 1E deck?

I just opened mine and the gist of everything is still the same, Bludgeoning, Piercing, Slashing and Bomb/Spell. The results are based in the 2e rules. Target is wounded 2 or enfeebled 2 etc.

Is there more than one card for "The Rules", or is the example card above it?

Only one rules card, but it's flip side has more rules on it.

No plans to release a PDF version of these to use per se for Roll20?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

So it seems some of the Spell/Bomb effects only have a spell effect like the bounce or planar rift. Should a bomber draw again if they get an effect like that or just do a normal crit?

Just a normal crit "if the entry's effect doesn't apply to the attack used."

I do not play with books or the sorts why is this not available as a PDF when everything else is a PDF?!? I would like to play with this on roll20 but I'm not wasting my time buying it or the fumble if your not going to make it a pdf

Just a normal crit "if the entry's effect doesn't apply to the attack used."

Slightly disappointing but at least there is a listed rule.

Looking forward to potentially using this for the first time this weekend!!

Can anyone in Paizo confirm that my Deck is correct.

The box says 54 card deck.
I have 53 critical hit cards, one OGL agreement card and one The Rules card.

Is it missing a card or does "The Rules card" count as a card towards the number (54 in the deck?

Jeff Alvarez said earlier that there were 55 cards in the deck, so apparently the rules card counts and the OGL card doesn't for the count of 54.

There are 53 critical hit cards, 1 rules card, and 1 OGL card.

How do you apply "deadly" weapon traits with the Critical Hit Deck? Do you apply the listed affect and then add the extra "deadly" dice to that?

You would apply deadly and fatal no differently than normal for a critical hit.

Note: effects use your class DC.

Class DC <> tradition DC.

A sorcerer, for instance, will never gain training in her class DC.

Verdant Wheel

is there a chance that this product will be released in PDF?

PDF version please ... I am from Brasil ... the shipping cost is very expensive to me.....

If you can't shuffle the cards, a better solution might be a set of tables that you roll percentile dice for results on. The point of uncertainty would be the design work to pick which cards should be the least likely to come up (1 rather than 2 percentile roll results) plus the layout labor vs. the likely demand for this product.

It would be nice if such tables can already be found in the Gamemastery Guide or some other existing or upcoming book. (But I have no idea whether they are.)

Finally got these in some of my games after scanning the deck for Roll20.

Working very well so far, we just do the Nat 20 crit roll only then pull, not the 10 past AC, for both Players and monsters.

Transposition? How is a wizard swapping places with his target a critical effect? Wouldn’t this be bad for the wizard under most circumstances?

I just bought both deck (critical hit and fumble), but I have a doubt.

All Critical Effects have a Saving Throw, aren't they?
I mean, that is the reason the rule card lists that you use your class DC.

Because some effects, if you apply them automatically, are pretty devastating. Not counting that double damage is still done with the attack.

These are for spells and spell effects that require the caster to roll a die, not the subject of the spell. Spells with ray attacks and touch attacks.

I would like to sleeve my set. What is the card size?

Can we get the back images added to the digital versions for both this and the fumble decks?

Grand Lodge

So looking at the example cards, some have the words "Crit Effect." Aren't all these crit effects since they only trigger on a crit?

Is there a pdf or table list other than cards?
