One of my favorite CDs yet

5/5

Theres so much flavor and interesting mechanics packed into this CD. I've got every single one of them and this one, with only 4-1 from OP completed, has given me the best choices at improving my deck. I actually have to consider which cards to add and how they will be useful in the future with every ally being new. Thats right. Every ally in this deck is brand new. And have some pretty cool mechanics.

While some choices in the deck are easier, obviously Celeste has no use for cards that help weapons, there are still a fair amount of this or that instead of the "this because that is garbage for this character" from other class decks. There's been a trend towards cards being good but even better for certain characters over the older very narrow cards that helped only a single character.

Looking forward to the next deck if this one is any indication on why it was totally worth waiting months for a new deck!

Three interesting characters

5/5

One of the things I liked the most about this deck is that there seem to be very few filler cards. All the class decks have a few cards that are necessary but boring, and this one had very few. The cards generaly have a good thematic feel and though they do not seem over powered i think they will be interesting to play with.
They have done a particularly good job with the allies. Different groups of allies have a good synergy between them that means you will want to keep them together even after some more powerful allies become available. That is particularly good for allies as they are thematically just the sort of thing your adventurer will not want to dispose of.
I hope the character decks continue in this vein, with interesting and playable characters using some unique mechanics.

Any chance of a certain 'retired' Pathfinder showing up perhaps Chris?

I don't play the card game, but this might be worth picking up to just to see the Pathfinder Tales characters.

And then you should try the card game, cuz it's great! ;-)

It really is. This game is perfect for those in a Pathfinder-mood, but cannot invest the time needed for a Pathfinder RPG.

I already spend too much money on Pathfinder books, so I have to stay away from the card game for now or I won't have enough money left to eat!

Organized play! Someone else brings the box! ;-) (Totally understand, though, really.)

I don´t care about Celeste, but Varian & Radovan are a must-have!

Please get Dave Gross to write a 6th book once the Pathfinder Tales mess is through.

Nope, didn't like the first two "romance on the high sea" novels too much, so i didn't buy the third one.

The writing was okay, but low magic sea battles weren't my cup of tea.
But to each their own. ;-)

Thank you.

Also a set list would be great.
I don´t play the card game, but i like most PF Tales characters, especially the ones from the old Paizo books.

And you can get Appleslayer as a companion!

I learned of this at GenCon... Yeah... so cool.

Glad everyone love my serpentine navigator!

Thank you... To each his own... Kissy books aren't for everyone.

Does he really just have levels in aristocrat or is he a vigilante or something?

To people looking to pick this up simply for the character art, I'd highly recommend giving the card game a try as well. Specifically, look to see if there's any Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild organized play games in your area, because it's a lot lower cost to entry -- in fact by buying this deck you literally have purchased everything you need in order to join an organized play game as one of the 3 characters included in the deck!

I just started playing in my area. I'm excited for the new season to become available!

My son wanted the original set (RotR, IIRC?) and I had reservations about it as I tend to be a 'purist'. The RPG only! However, I gave it a try and my sons and I really like it. I can get my brother to play this, but he doesn't think he has the time to do the RPG.
What does that have to do with this deck? Um, I don't know. Just putting in my .02 for the game itself, I guess.

Any ETA on the deck list and character sheets for this?

Following up on Abyssalstalker's question from 2 weeks ago. I want to play the characters I purchased. When will the Class Deck PDFs be updated?
