I had thought when Bestiary 6 came out I wouldn't need it.
How wrong was I!
This book will definitely take it's place as one of the essential Pathfinder books in my collection, if you're waiting to get this, don't! Get it now!
Well done Paizo!
My one complaint is mine had the same s%#%ty yellow binding glue as the first printing of the Starfinder CRB, but I'm not dropping the rating because it is that good (also I still have binding glue leftover from my Starfinder CRB).
So Bestiary 5 was a bit disappointing to me, but this one is something that did something with Pathfinder I haven't seen in a while: gave me ideas that I wanted to use. A lot of the monsters presented are honestly interesting. As usual, there are some reprints from other products, but I always favor having consolidated lists of things. I won't use everything, but there is enough here that I'll be using a good chunk.
Also, the weremantis reminded me how much I love Portal, so I have to give it to them there.
So me and two other guys from my gaming group ordered this book from amazon. WOW, all of us have missing and or scrambled pages.
I have over 17 missing pages (most of the archdevils content)and more or less 20 pages out of order. I don't know if they are sending all the "special" books down here, but I can assure you I will never buy a physical book from Paizo anymore.
I associate The Wild Hunt with Cernunnos, but since he's CG, that might not be copasetic with what B6 has in store. At any rate, we're talking some crazy fey stuff right?
I still want to see a ghost/phantom train but we would need trains in Pathfinder for that:(
Dancing shoe monsters, sure, if Dragon Quest can have them then why not us:)
Whimsy about tanks and cars aside, doesn't Alkenstar have trains or trams?
Ooooo ghost blimps!
I'm not sure it has steam methods of transportation around it's city. Perhaps steam based locomotion transport in the upper-levels? Remember that other cities around it are still using horse and carriages (or in case of Geb and Nex, skeletal horse-drawn black ghost carriages and arcane teleportation devices).
I would like stats for a magically animated Alkenstar Steam Tank though. :D
I'm aware of that yes. I'd still like to see the type of warmachine Alkenstar can come up with though. I'm a huge fan of Warhammer Fantasy Battles and the Steam Tank is one of my favorite units to deploy. ;) :D
Wait, the Horsemen of Abaddon? Wow, those stat blocks are going to be impressive at the very least. I'm expecting each of them to be CR 30/MR 20.
Also, I hope the next core hardcover after this is an Advanced NPC Codex featuring some of the other core classes. :D
I had always wondered if they ever got stat blocks, would they all be CR 30? If not, I believe it would be something along this:
Famine - CR 27 or 28
Pestilence - CR 28 or 29
War - CR 29
Death - CR 30
Anyway, are we really getting the four of them?
Considering that not a single foe of any measure of power has been able to unseat Charon from his throne of flesh, bone, and souls I'd assume that he'd have to be CR 30/MR 20 at the very least. This is a being who has either stood up against or outwitted Lamashtu herself (and probably other deities as well) and lived to tell about it.
A "living sword" could be a construct, undead, aberration, magical beast or even an ooze. It could be an outsider as well but I would prefer any of the other creature types.
We do have the raktavarna, but that's limited to LE characters who can take Improved Familiars. I'd definitely like to see at least one option for non-evil characters, whether it be a celestial equivalent to the raktavarna, some form of tsukumogami, or even some form of rebuilt moldspeaker from the Legacy of Fire AP.

Oh, sorry, i'm not as good as humans in the idolatress of other humans, music stars and movie heroes, only in me, myself and I.
I liked her competition though, it was very well done, though I disliked it that some people already got their copy when the competition was still going strong...

while it's okay to not understand why people may want to see certain options in Pathfinder material, it's not ok to be dismissive or rude to or about them. I removed a post and several replies to it. Play nice folks.
Mephistopheles and Mammon also seem like they could be really frigging high CR, maybe 30 as well. One is a manifestation of Hell itself, and the other is a genius loci whose spirit inhabits every coin in Hell's treasury. Both sound like...difficult opponents to kill, at least permanently

Firstly, whilst I would like to get all four horsemen, it most likely will not happen. The most high CR monsters we got from one race in one book was (I think) the three demon lords in Bestiary 4.
Secondly, Charon might be anything from CR 26 to 30 (with an adequate numbers of mythic tiers). Just because he was able to hold his position for that long and outwit Lamashtu, does not mean that he is that powerful, he might be just that good at scheming. For instance, even Pazuzu (CR 30), who has an ongoing war/feud with her, is still alive. Thus, a being on a different plane might be even less powerful and survive and ongoing feud with a god. Although Lamashtu has been described as willing to even go to different planes and kill demi-gods (she killed at least 2 horsemen in Abaddon). I guess if she really wanted to (meaning really spending all her resources), she could probably go kill him, but that would be a really stupid move in terms of being vulnerable to other attacks.
Always remember, Pathfinder power levels so far are capped at CR 30. Anything above is considered a god and does not receive stats.
