Combat Over
Surveying the scene, and looting the bodies, you find each of the two dead acolytes bears a rapier, leather armor, a scroll of cure light wounds, and some jewelry. One of the acolytes is wearing the Besmara's bicorne the item you have been sent to recovery from here.
As the noise of fighting dies down a human man and two young half-elven children, simliar features to the man, come wearily walking down the spiral stair case. The man leads the way. The man looks at the carnage yet he seems little fazed by the death of the acolytes "Y-y-you saved us. Thank you. Come Niana and Frelinda let us begone from here." the man and his presumed children rush from the temple. Should you wish to stop them they will stop.

the three items securly in hand you return to Vidrin Jenk at Barracuda Cartage, he briefly looks over the religious items from Riddleport's three temples. "Well they match the descriptions of the religious items I sent you to collect. Oh and look the Calistrians even gift wrapped the dagger that will look nice when you deliver the items. Here's the note I recieved from the spider, deliver the relgious artifacts to the Lissalan cultists underneath the Seven Needles tattoo parlor." Jenk looks at you and says "Well what are you waiting for get going."
Agent Jenk,
You demonstrate excellent initiative in collecting our overdue debts and offering them
as gifts to the Lissalans. This way, we can start to stem the hemorrhage of our goodwill
with the Lissalans for very little actual cost to the Consortium. Deliver the items to
the Lashmistress at the Lissalan safe house with our best wishes for future negotiations.
If Thestil Shadowtongue’s team has impressed you, they can make the delivery in your
stead, but be sure they understand that the situation is politically tenuous. Indelicacy
here could do us serious damage.
The Lissalan safe house is located underground. Their complex is accessible via an
abandoned tattoo shop called “Seven Needles” just south of Zincher’s Arena and the
Gas Forges.
The Lissalans remain paranoid, secretive, and edgy. Tread carefully, so we can
turn this situation around. Success so soon after our arrival in Riddleport would mean
accolades for me, and thus for you.

Juis Helfro |
Juis takes the scroll of cure light wounds off of the dead acolyte for it will surely prove useful later on.

Listening to Jenk and then reading the letter. "Jenk is right. We should be on our way to deliver the items."

Rewind
As Nylthe puts up her hand to the family making their way out the 'Temple' the man stops holding his dear children tight to him. You can see a few marks on his face more than likely cause by the Reefclaws and maybe a rapier or two. Btw there are two CLW Scrolls
In between his heavy breathes he speaks "Those heathens.. kidnapped my children and I... over some deal my wife had with the Besmarians. They meant to sacrifice us to those beasts since my wife Redelia is out at sea. Unless you need anything else we are going to get going and I must send word to my wife. The man and his children leave the Besmarian Temple.

FFwd: Off to the Tattoo Parlor.
The Salty air fills your nostrels again as you find your selves at you intended destination. Tenements sprawl across the portion of the Wharf District between Zincher’s Arena and the solid-looking Gas Forges. A shop with a sign reading “Seven Needles” stands at the end of a dim, trash-strewn alley. The tattoo parlor is abandoned, its windows cracked and portions of its wooden trim looking like they were removed long ago.
As you enter the shop you see the interior holds nothing inside.

Juis Helfro |
Perception DC 18: 1d20 ⇒ 17
At first Juis doesn't notice the foot traffic until Okuru points them out. "Ah... so we are in the right place. But no one seems to be around right now. Could there be a specific time they show up."
GM Poblano Pepper |
With Okuru pointing out the Foot Traffic Juis, although limited in his sight, happens to notice when he is walking around the room that a section of the floor seems to give a little to much with his weight.
Hunkering down to the floor to investigate he notices that a trap door is bellow his feet. The trap door in the tattoo parlor leads to a series of stone tunnels beneath Riddleport. Some of the tunnels collapsed long ago, but the construction is currently quite sound. The tunnels are well lit by several continual flame spells cast directly on the stone of the ceiling. Following along the Continual Flame Spells you make your way into a small room connected to a hallway.
I placed you on the map, feel free to change your marching order. Now starts the Dungeon Crawl portion of this Scenario.
Please let me know if you have any "I am always" Actions such as "I am always stealthing into every room" or "I am always looking for traps" or "I am always searching the room for anything" etc. if not I will assume you just follow along normally and making basic perception checks.

No "I am always" for me
As Aconite begins to pad forward towards the strange circle, Nylthe sends to him Wait a moment, that symbol could mark something important. With a few words of power, she reaches out to sense any lingering sorceries. Detect Magic
Aconite's Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Juis Helfro |
Juis follows behind the group, interested in the construction in the tunnel.
Juis will always be searching the room for anything interesting.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 6
GM Poblano Pepper |
Holding her hands up making a sort of picture window with her fingers Nylthe notices the present of magic down the hall way. Spending a few moments to concentrate on her spell further she is able to notice two overwhelming magical auras mid way down the hall. Narrowing her search she can pinpoint that one of the auras is eminating form the Symbol on the floor and the other is coming form the Wall to the left Marked in Orange.
Nylthe Shadowbound |
Nylthe informs her companions of what she has discovers, but adds, Unfortunately, I cannot discern precisely what magic awaits us.
Juis Helfro |
Informed by Nylthe about the symbol and the wall. Juis spends time study them.

Knowledge (Arcana) DC 19 | Wall: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
"However, the wall is radiating illusion magic. The wall might not be real. If I was to theorize, the symbol on the ground activates something that comes from behind the wall. I could be mistaken though."
Juis moves up and stops just before stepping on the Symbol and investigates the closest part of the wall by pushing on it to see if his hands go through.
GM Poblano Pepper |
AS Juis approaches the wall and Symbol he attempts to interact with the wall and...

"There are iron bars behind the illusionary wall. Maybe a cage with something in it."
Juis pushes his face through the wall to see if he can determine if anything is on the other side of the iron bars.
Duncan Blackfeather |
Duncan rolls his eyes impatiently. "Nothing there but a solid wall and you know it. C'mon let's get moving again."

If you believe that what lies concealed by this illusion is a trap, Should we simply jump over the symbol?
Juis Helfro |
That must be an amusing sight. Only one of you passed.
GM Poblano Pepper |
Juis' interactions with the 'wall' gets very mixed responses form the group. You are beginning to figure something magical is certainly plagueing this room. The Symbol on the floor seems to be the main cause of the frustrations if only you were able to get past this obstacle.
All of you look and spend some time looking over the Symbol wondering what could happen. Assuming you all would assist and some would be taking 10/20
The Symbol on the floor is masking a glyph written in powered diamond that has been fused to the floor.
Juis Helfro |
Juis takes a step back, away from the glyph on the ground. "Call back Aconite. Unless one of you is hiding the ability to disable such a trap. We might have to set it off."
Juis goes through his stuff and pulls out a sheet of paper. He then crumbles it up. When it is clear, he then will toss the paper onto the glyph on the floor. If that does nothing, he will light it using his Spark spell.
Marianna Nicos |
Marianna crouches and brings her shield up to protect herself in case anything happens from Juis's attempts to trigger the glyph.
Duncan Blackfeather |
"I have no experience with such devices," says Duncan with a wary expression. "Nor do I particularly want any."
If someone moves to tinker with the glyph he stands well back out of the way.
GM Poblano Pepper |
As Juis Thorws his sheaf of paper and lights in ablaze the Glyph on the floor has no Reaction. Upon further Magical study its clear with the curls of the Sigils used and the references in the Arane that it is reactive when a person or creature walks through the symbol.
Woot for massive Migraines v.v
Juis Helfro |
Juis frowns, "Darn. I was hoping that would work. But looks like we need something living to cross it."
My mother use to suffer from migraines. I remember how she was down for the count with it.
Nylthe Shadowbound |
"Ah, simple enough." Nylte dismisses Aconite with a snap, then with a second gesture summons a Fiendish Pony on top of the rune.
