Fear and ruin grip the land as the long-imprisoned army of a mad genie renews its
ancient war. From the streets of the exotic city of Katapesh to the shadow
of cursed Pale Mountain, this horde of immortal warriors leaves
only fire and ruin in its wake. Empowered and perverted by the granting
of wild wishes, this seemingly invincible legion strangles the realm in
its fearful grasp as an obsessed general stokes the embers of an age-old
devastation. Can the PCs save Katapesh from both a burning tyrant and
the resurrection of a living apocalypse? Find out in this, the climax of the

GOOD:
The artwork is amazing (the super-impressive gnoll from page 20 has already been made into a miniature: Nargok, Warpriest of Rovagug. Some of the downtime activities after book one pay off greatly. The liberation of Kelmarane is actually fun.
Xotani´s Grave is an impressive location and mostly fun to play in.
The Spawn of Rovagug article.
The Bestiary is worth it for the nowhere reprinted Azi dragons and Xotani the Firebleeder.
BAD:
The city of Kelmarane is underdeveloped. The GM has to flesh out quite some buildings. The Brazen Tower is a big grind. The "Clockwork General" is not compatible with Pathfinder lore of today, predating it.
UGLY:
Having to clear the House of the Beast a second time is no fun at all.
The adventure has zero chance of roleplaying opportunities as written.
If you have the time to flesh out the city of Kelmarane with buildings and NPCs (best done before beginning book two) and insert some roleplaying opportunities/chances to parley with some creatures encountered, this adventure will gain tremendously from it.
The first 4 parts of this campaign are a lot of fun, the last two have to be pimped up by a GM to be. This is why i want "Legacy of Fire" as a hardcover with Pathfinder Rules in 2019.
I remember being quite disappointed with the finale of Legacy of Fire when I first read through The Final Wish. Having just started the AP again with the outstanding Howl of the Carrion King, I revisited the last chapter and can honestly say my opinion hasn’t changed. I really expected something a little more interesting for the culmination of one of the more innovative APs. Instead we get the Liberation of Kelmarane as “cinematic combat” i.e. characters run a few errands and take on a few high level NPCs while the battle takes place mainly off screen.
The big show down with the enemy which has been building throughout the AP occurs at the end of a very vanilla dungeon crawl with a few uninspired visits from past friends and foes. Whatever happened to “the strange wish-powered minions the PCs are destined to face in the final adventure”? The House of the Beast was far more fun the first time through.
Along with Pathfinder Beta, this Adventure Path is bringing me back to Paizo. I didn't enjoy rise of the Runelords because of the inbred incestous rapist ogres and stopped at PF 4. But this new Pathfinder direction sounds more interesting to me.
And with Pathfinder the new rules handling the next AP, I'll probably stay even if the devils are fairly gross in the adventures.
What's actually curious about this is that the fighter in the picture with Seoni looks like the OLD Dungeon Magazine Iconic fighter, the one with the blue tunic and breastplate looking guy. Sword and shield ...
Wow! That cover rocks! Who did the portrait of the efreet I'm assuming is Prince Jhavul?
What Yoda said for the artist. As for the efreet... he's pretty much just an efreet. He can certainly do for Jhavhul's appearance, but since the cover art came in relatively late and we thus couldn't use it as a model for the interior art for Jhavhul... he looks relatively different from the Jhavhul we illustrate inside the adventure. So pick and choose, I guess, which one you want; the official line is that the cover efreeti is merely just one of many efreet the PCs are going to fight in "The Final Wish."

Was that on purpose or is that someone else?
I think the "fighter" in the picture is actually Kyra, who for some reason found a shield to use in that fight.

If so, stick with that artist, as they follow text direction well. I'm sure I've seen Kyra stated up with a shield more than once.
Who knew your little adventure was appearing beside my amazingly magnifico ginormous set piece? :^)
Seriously, my man, it's downright cool to be in your piece. Can't wait for this to come out!

I certainly didn't know! Just another thing to look forward to when this thing comes out (and after the three weeks or so shipping to the Czech Republic! :( Grrr!)
Seriously, looking forward to seeing your set piece, Lou! :)

It's even a longer shipping time for me here (Finland), because I've ordered them via my FLGS... (just to show them that they should stock Paizo's APs).
Are we close enough to late July yet? It feels late. Just looking forward to seeing this issue.
I'm wondering what the ETA is for this too (my first AP volume). I tied another big order to this one to minimize shipping costs, and since this is my first issue, I wasn't sure what the "usual" time of the month was for these to ship (now that we're officially in July).

This is slated to ship in late July. I just get excited about the latest issue that is coming out, so I'm hoping it might be released a bit early.
You can check the Product Release Schedule from the main page. Otherwise there is'nt really a "usual" time that I can tell. Sometimes Paizo gets ahead of schedule and can release things a bit early. At worst, they get multiple shipments stuck in customs.
Here's a link to the Product Schedule (if I figured out how to make a link).
Based on Gray's handy handy linkification there, I was able to confirm that this is still set for "late July." Seeing as this is a 31 day month, that means that, technically noon today was the middle point. So how far from tomorrow is "late", in your estimation (which can obviously be offset be shipping problems and customs and weather and alien invasions and pets getting sick and stubbing your toe and minor paranormal occurrences in your closet at night and escapes at local insane asylums and Sean seeing a cute girl and needing to write a haiku and cookies and major cataclysms in the very fiber of the cosmos and bathroom breaks and some other stuff that I shan't mention for space conservation reasons)?
As far as I am aware, this is still on track for a release toward the end of July. However, that's not exactly my area of expertise, so I'll see if I can get a more specific answer for folks tomorrow.
Love the cover art, but I thought the "what you wished for" link would go to the corrupted wishes game page. Definately interested for this one to grace my mailbox.
The cover guy is an efreeti. The intent was to have him be the main bad guy of the AP, but he ended up looking a little different than he does on the inside in the adventure's art, but if that doesn't bother you, then the cover guy is Jhavhul.
When will this get added to My Downloads? I'm dyin' here!
I'm with ya, Lou, oy am I with ya!

I'm really looking forward to this one. It's got Rob's big AP-ending adventure, Lou's the-very-last-set-piece, Boomer's insights into Rovagug, Wolfgang's examination of wish magic, AND Elaine's final chapter of Channa Ti. What's not to love?
It just that I thought wood was hard for Efreeti to come by.
It is. Very hard to come by. It's a designer shield. Nothing impresses the ladies like a show of wealth, and a wooden shield that doesn't burn owned by a fire genie? Oh yeah, the ladies go for that.
Either that or he just had his shield fashioned to look like wood because wood is an exotic pattern in the City of Brass? It's actually steel with a wood-grain pattern.
