1. What is your character's long term goals:
Long term? Who thinks about that stuff. I can tell you what I don't want to be, a stuffy Houseman worrying over ledgers and abacuses, abacui, whatever.
2. What is your motivation for doing what you are currently doing:
Ehh, yonder lass Betsy is motivation enough if ya get what I'm laying down. The usual, gold, women, wine, women...oh wait I already said that one.
3. What are your short term goals:
Didn't I just tell ya. Gold, women wine, oh and I'm pretty savvy with this here blade.
4. What is your character's greatest fear:
Fear? What's that. Alright, I've been known to s!!+e my jammys when thinking about life in the House. All that money and power, coupled with tedium you would not believe.

Empty Vessel to be precise from the conversion link you gave, ultimately how I build him will depend on party composition. At this moment we seem to have an abundance of skilled characters and not so many martials or full casters, so I am leaning towards psion or mindblade.
Perfect. A psion that could work as an arcane type caster would be very good.
I plan to do some research on psionics tonight. I just haven't seen them in play yet.

I'll go the clairsentience route then, makes the most sense as the best way for Rhorn to defend himself is by being a few steps ahead of the Inspired. If however it would be more conducive to the party's needs Rhorn can go the telepath route for a more social character or the Nomad route which will give him some nice group utility abilities.

Sounds good Viluki.

1. What is your character's long term goals:
2. What is your motivation for doing what you are currently doing:
3. What are your short term goals:
4. What is your character's greatest fear:
1. Finding out more about other cultures and people as he is very unworldly.
2. It is a way of starting on that path, a slow introduction to other people.3. Finding out more about his father's death and why people would do such a thing.
4. The rage and loss of control that he felt on hearing his father's story. It is why he seeks balance.

1. What is your character's long term goals:
2. What is your motivation for doing what you are currently doing:
3. What are your short term goals:
4. What is your character's greatest fear:
1. Tierney wants to continue his father's work into learning the truth about the Day of Mourning. This is complicated by the fact that he has little aptitude as a researcher.
2. For the time being, Tierney wants something to take his mind off of his grief over his father's death. He looks to occupy himself with something that forces him to concentrate on his immediate surroundings, as he did when he worked as a bodyguard.
3. Tierney desires to establish some relationships with others, if no actual friendship. His life has been one of some isolation, despite efforts by his father to get him to overcome his social limitations.
4. The prospect of a slow, progressive death frightens Tierney more than anything. The idea is disturbing enough that he is only vaguely aware of this fear. For the most part, he avoids the thought.

They traveled for days. Through the shadow reach, into the heart on the way to see Olian, The Great Druid, an awakened tree thousands of years old and the most powerful druid in the world. After a few hours the twilight hours set upon them, the forest grew more mystical. Mazina spoke in her reverent and teaching voice, to her young ward. "We are entering the heart, near the gate to the shadow court, can you feel the energy of the Fey?"
Melody touched the ground, it seemed alive. "I feel it." she said. Minutes later, the trees began to turn, they seemed to look at the intruders, some even moved and followed them. Melody gasped in awe as a plethora of animals came into view, great stags as tall as the trees, bears five times the size of horses, fairies flittered about, and nymphs danced at the edge of her vision beyond the trees. Another mile of this and Mazina stopped and pointed. There stood the tallest tree in the forest, with a face and arms, it looked down on them. The Great Druid. It spoke with a low rumble and the wisdom of ages. "Mazina, how fare you this fine eve?" it asked in a kind tone.
"Well, ancient one." the magebreeder replied before continuing. "Olian, this is Melody, youngest scion of house Vadalis."[b] Melody curtsied as best she could in her practical leather forest wear.
[b]"Hello sir." the young girl spoke to the ancient tree. "I see you bear the mark of handling as well little one. Will you be a magebreeder as Mazina?" the tree rumbled.
"And a druid like the Wardens." the confident child stated matter of factly. "A bold one this child. Work hard youngling and you may achieve that goal. A druid must strive to keep balance within and without. Many of your kind cannot balance themselves in the short time they are on this plane." the old tree remarked. The young girl replied. "Within and without, one can't balance themselves if they don't strive to balance the world around them. At the same time."
"So wise already." the big tree chuckled sounding of low thunder. "Mazina thank you for bringing her to me, she gives me great hope for the future of the young races and Vadalis."
Mazina bowed, and spoke to Melody. "Go play with the beasts mistress." Melody complied, finding a big badger that looked really mean but really was just sleepy, while Olian and Mazina talked of other things, Melody heard "Baron", her father, and "war".
During the return trip Melody did little but think of the Druid and the power that such an old thing must have. She would strive for that.
For years she threw herself into training, both as a druid and a Magebreeder. Excelling in both. Determined to become more skilled than her mentor Mazina, and hopes one day, as a powerful druid, to bring the whole of the Reach under the rule of her house. Merging the Wardens with House Vadalis. The presence of so many druidic sects causes chaos in the region that Melody would do away with. In her mind the end goal is Baroness Melody d'Vadalis the Great Druid Warden of the Eldeen Reach. A lofty goal, but one worth achieving. That way she could help Olian protect the people and animals of the reach, and protect Olian himself.

Melee-types are not usually my cup of tea, but I've now (finally!) got a new concept that I'd like to explore in the form of a Elf Cavalier from Valenar. Thinking Emissary archetype (from Ult Combat) combined with Order of the Flame (from Blood of Elements) for lots of fast, agile scimitar (presumably double) on horseback action.
Presuming there's still time before selection deadline, I'll break out my books and do some reading up on Valenar and Elven culture (specifically the Valaes Tairn and the Spirits of the Past) so as to nail down the idea, then get background and crunch written up.

I am overwhelmed by the submissions that I have received for this campaign. I know the work it takes to put together a character with a good background. I want to say thank you all for the effort you have put into this recruitment thread.
With that being said, I have spent the last forty eight hours scrutinizing over all of the submissions. I have looked at posting rates and character posts to get a good idea of how each of you play. I have also worked to put together a well balanced group. This means that I have had to chose certain characters due to their roles.
This evening I made a decision on who I think will be the best fit. I am pleased to invite these players/characters to check into the discussion thread:
1) Servitor-Warforged Fighter
2) Uriah Lewis-Human Swashbuckler/Blade of Orien
3) Adir Bloodmoon-Skinwalker(shifter)/Lunar Oracle
4) Jarot Tennet-Daelkyr Halfblood Vivisectionist Alchemist
5) Tierney Quade-Tiefling Magus
Again, thank you all for your submissions and happy gaming! ~GM Mason

Ahh, well that answers that. :p
Congrats to those who were picked!
I sent you a private message on Thursday, but never heard back from you. I was sad you didn't get a submission together. If it is OK, I may PM you again should we lose a player. Thanks for you interest. You were definitely an attractive candidate!

Sorry about that... Always bad about remembering to check/reply to PMs. Also doesn't help that I'm usually rather slow (I prefer "deliberate") when it comes to character creation, hence my lack of posts over the weekend... -_-;
Once again, congrats all! I'll be sure to follow along.

GM Mason |

Alright, well looking forward to things here! Thanks for the congrats Veltharis, and look forward to playing with you if we need that extra person to fill in the ranks. :)
Let me know once the game thread's going GM.
Discussion thread is up if you want to check in. I posted a couple of things. I will PM you when I get the game thread up. Should be tomorrow afternoon/evening. I already have the posts written. I am just waiting for everyone to check in and ask questions if they have any before we get rolling!
