I think the Blessing draw is supposed to be random. I can't find a reference in the Society Guide, but the WotR RB says:
RULES: DRAWING CARDS wrote:
Unless a card says otherwise, drawing means taking a card from
the specified source and adding it to your hand. If no source is
specified, draw it from your character deck. When you draw a
card from a facedown deck, such as a character deck, a location
deck, the blessings deck, or any other deck the game tells you to
create, draw from the top of the deck. When you draw a card from
a faceup pile, such as your discard pile, the blessings discard pile,
or any other pile the game tells you to create, draw a card of your
choice. When you draw a card from the box, unless you are told to
draw a specific card, draw a random card of the appropriate type.
But I seem to recall something about class deck play operating differently... So many rules.
Which Ship?:1d8 ⇒ 7 Mark of Yunnarius:
Check
Divine 8
Wisdom/Survival 10
Powers
BYA, a random character at your location summons and encounters the henchman Pirate Shade Haunt, which may not be evaded; that character displays it next to her deck.
Henchman/Monster Pirate Shade Haunt:
Undead/Pirate
Powers
Display the Pirate Shade Haunt next to your character card. For each Haunt next to your character, the difficulty of your checks is increased by 1, or by 2 if your check has the Swashbuckling trait.
Drink Potion of Heroism...
[dice=Wisdom Vs Mark of Yunnarius 10]1d8+1d6-2... 12.5% chance of success.
Upon reviewing others' hands, I find that I'm on my own. Correct?
Vika, can we reset and have you use your Blessing on Jirelle's check? You have the Potion of Heroism and the Topaz, so you'd have a 1d10 + 1d6 for a 9?
Then Jirelle can use your blessing for her Survival check to get 2d8 to get a 10?
Both are items. So I only get to use one. Without the blessing, my chances are pretty low. What would Jirelle's chances be? Plus Cayden gives 2 dice to a Strength check, is that the better route?
I wouldn't try to grind it down in one sitting. That's 1:1 Blessing/Explore turns. It might make more sense to allow a redraw in there in hopes of getting blessings/allies.
When you would encounter a non-villain monster, banish it and roll 1d8 on the table below; summon and encounter that ship (listed on the next page) instead.
1. a random ship from the fleet stack
2. Burnt Saffron
3. Cetaceal
4. Hu-Hazhong
5. Impervious
6. Kraken’s Spite
7. Mark of Yunnarius
8. Ravishing Ruby

Assuming I get the Armor 2,

Are we still sorting out Jirelle's out-of-order turn?
Maybe its my turn...:
Disable + Topaz v. Harpoon Trap(6):1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 WIS v Temp Close(7):1d8 ⇒ 7
Woo! Power turn!
End and Draw-up:
I discard Lucerne and Greatsword

Damage dealt by the Sea Devil is increased by 2.
If defeated, you may immediately attempt to close the location this henchman came from.
Closing the location isn't a layup, but I have blessings! Let's give it a go.
Warhammer+2, Recharged v Sea Devil (13):1d10 + 1 + 2 + 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 + (1) + 2 + (1) = 9
Well. F~*+.
Discard 4. End and Draw Up:

Well, that answers that.
End and Draw:

Well this went off the rails quickly.
[dice=I clench my fists together and slam down hard on the plant's "face"]1d10+1+2[/dice]
If plants could laugh, it would at me... 10 Damage.
I bury my Elven Breastplate to reduce it all.
I cast Instant Armor(banished) to Recharge the Breastplate instead.
I hang my head in shame.
I end my turn and draw up:

Oh but wait, I have to find out how bad this is going hurt first...
Scenario Rules:
When you encounter a non-villain, non-henchman monster, roll 1d6:
1–2. During the encounter, the difficulty of any checks by characters at your location is increased by 1d4.
3–4. Before you act, each character at your location is dealt 1d4-1 Combat damage.
5–6. During the encounter, characters at other locations may not play cards or use powers.
To the Pain:1d6 ⇒ 2 Increased by...:1d4 ⇒ 4
So that's a BYA Wisdom 12 and a Combat 15.
