![]() https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/tulpa-cr-2/ I have a player that wants to create a Tupla for a fantastical Stand/Persona esk Cohort. I am open to this if we follow the standard NPC/Cohort methods, and if they mistreat it (by having it die a lot ect.) I have story fodder for a reoccurring enemy. I am not sure of what Effective Cohort Level I should give it. I was thinking 3. Any thoughts? ![]()
![]() Having a bit of GM Block. I have a group of adventurers (5 lv 5 players) traveling though Cheliax to the Wisperwoods for the main quest. As of now they just left Kintagro (Pre-Revolution) on there way there. Outside a quick attack by a group of cultists related to the main plot, I am at a loss on how to fill their cross country travels. Do any of you have any ideas for small side adventures/encounters as they make their way to the wisperwoods? ![]()
![]() I have a player that wants to add “Ki Spells” to their quarterstaff. Specifically Blood Crow Strike (though they expressed interest in more), where they spend a ki point to cast the spell. Their logic/reasoning /argument to allow this are that the Mountain shaper’s Girdle is 25,000 gp (which is a +4 str belt & spend one ki point to cast the 4th lv spell stone shape. Subtracting the cost of an equivalent +4 belt of giant’s strength (16,000gp). That would be 9,000gp (4,500gp crafted) to add a ki powered 4th level spell. What are your group thoughts on this, and what would you calculate the cost for spells Higher or lower to cast? www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/m-p/mountainshapers-girdle ![]()
![]() I need some help describing a kingdom (that uses kingdom building rules) that jumped from rulers that provided Loyalty 38, Economy 30, and Stability 35 to Loyalty 66, Economy 80, and Stability 82. The scenario is a young prince (PC) fled his kingdom when his uncle orchestrated his father’s death and took the kingdom. The kingdom believes the prince is also dead, and the protector deity of the realm has made their divine displeasure know by withering the grand “Protector tree”. Over time the PC learns of his uncle’s purging his father’s loyalists from the court/positions of power. The PC and his adventuring party now returns 15-20 years later to find that his uncle is a hyper competent ruler, his father’s kingdom is flourishing under the uncles rule. Experiencing prosperity, a growing middle class, and equal rights for human and non-human residents. Like Bhelen Aeducan from dragon age, a total Jerk, but Fantastic King. This will lead to difficult questions/introspection/and role-playing opportunities for my players. I need help describing the differences between old vs. new, and any other suggestions you might have to help flesh this idea out. Thanks in Advance ![]()
![]() I am crafting a campaign (We Just Started) where the last big boss battle will be the party of 5 vs a Tarrasque. I want this battle to be epic, but I don’t want the party to instantly die or them to kill it super fast. So What Minimum level to fight a Tarrasque and win? I am fine with giving the mythic ranks as well. ![]()
![]() If a Human that has the Draconic Heritage Alternate Racial Traits " At times, a human’s family history can have a dragon’s power bound to the bloodline. Humans with this trait gain darkvision with a range of 10 feet and low-light vision. They can also ignore the Charisma prerequisite for Eldritch Heritage and any feat that has Eldritch Heritage as a prerequisite, but can select only the draconic bloodline with these feats. This replaces the bonus skill rank humans receive at each level. " Does that mean if they have a high enough Charisma (15), they can just take the Improved Eldritch Heritage feat without needing to take Eldritch Heritage first? ![]()
![]() If I had a single weapon, let's say a +1 Flaming Short sword, give it the Greater Transformative Enchantment, then turn that short sword to a quarterstaff. Could I then enchant the new “other” end of the quarterstaff with +1 frost, resulting in a +1 flaming/+1 Frost Transformative weapon? The purpose of the weapon is to have two sets of enchantments that can be switched between. ![]()
![]() So I have a player (A unchained Monk Librarian) that wants to make a “Spellbook” of Qinggong Monk Spells that he can cast from the book by paying the relevant Ki costs/being the relevant level for utility and RP purposes. Would this be overpowered if I allowed it? If not how should I go about managing the “Transcription Cost” for each spell/the cost of the book itself? ![]()
![]() So one of the tables I run has used the Synchrony device at the end of Ruins of Azlant to blow up Tar-Baphon’s (whispering tyrant) Ise of Terror. Due to the number of tables I run and the tables being connected in a group cannon, the Ruins of Azlant was run after Tyrants grasp. As such it was relatively known that Tar-baphon the Whispering tyrant had escaped. Some of the players where refugees looking for a new life, and all the players were shades Lawful/Chaotic/Neutral Neutral aligned. So at the end of the adventure they have this Synchrony Device Nuke and decide to stick it to the undead king.
So I am looking for ideas for repercussions and story hooks, to continue their off canon campaign. Tldr: Players Nuked Tar-Baphon’s (whispering tyrant) Isle of Terror and I am looking for story ideas. ![]()
![]() How do I incorporate 16 canonical lv 17-18 PC paladins into Hells Vengeance, and still have the Glorious Recomation lose, without upsetting my players? Backstory, my group has been playing pathfinder for over a decade and we have made it through every adventure path up to hells rebels, which we just started, and my players pc’s from each path have become cannon heroes of our Golarion. One of these players has played a paladin of Iomedae for each path, using archetypes/multiclassing/RP to make them fit, with the basic backstory that they are from cheliax and with to someday liberate their home land from the devils grasp. At the end of each path his character would “ride off into the sunset” to return to his home land and fight the good. It became a running joke, and I never thought anything of this until the Hells Rebels/Vengance, which as the Glorious Reclamation. The player’s paladins would totally join this group and fight tooth and nail to free their collective homeland. So any thoughts or should I alter my tables history and have the glorious reclamation win? ![]()
![]() I have a player who wants, and has the funds, to create a semi large demiplane. They want to lay out all the "demiplane cubes" out, creating a flat open space outside map to then build within. With the motif a temple hidden in the forest. However, since the cubes are 10/10, would my players have to sacrifice cubes to create a "sky" for buildings higher than 10ft or would that fall under the Structure part of Create demiplanes? ![]()
![]() I am making an artifact for a custom Eastern Campaign, and was hoping on some feedback on balancing/believably/Destruction Suggestions of the artifact. I will be making a fluff description of it after i finalize the hard abilities. Staff of the Monkey King
DESCRIPTION • Quarterstaff Monkey motif Metal Jade • Functions as a +1 Quarterstaff, its special powers are not discernable by detect magic or identify. • In the hands of a character with a ki pool Staff of the Monkey king is an intelligent +4 Ki Intensifying Dancing Quarterstaff whose special purpose is to defeat denizens of the land of the Outer threats. • The staff automatically resizes itself to match the size of its wielder, and can shrink down to size a dagger (1d4) at the wielders or the staffs command. The staff also grants the wielder the Quarterstaff mastery feat (For the Monkey Kings’s Staff only) Even if they do not meet the prerequisites. • The bearer of the Staff reduces the number of ki points needed to use a ninja trick or ki ability by 1 (minimum 1 ki point). • Three per day as a standard action, you can call on a cloud to bear you into the air. This enables you to fly at you land speed with good maneuverability. This ability otherwise functions as the spell Overland Flight. If the cloud is dispelled or the duration expires while you’re aloft, you descend at a rate of 60 feet per round for 5 rounds, then fall any remaining distance normally. • Once per week, when a command word is spoken, the owner of the staff can plant it in the ground and summon the spirit of the staff, which takes the form of a spectral Vanaras monk. The Spirit fights alongside the owner bearer, protecting her to the best of its ability. Using the staff and all its abilities. This otherwise function as spiritual ally. • Once per day, the owner can meditate while focusing on the Staff and ponder the great mysteries of the universe. After 1 hour of uninterrupted meditation, the owner recovers a number of ki points equal to half his total ki pool. The ki points recovered in this way are temporary, and go away if the user rests or meditates for 8 hours to recover. Additionally, the owner of this item cannot use it to replenish ki points in excess of his total ki pool. • Monkeys, Gorillas, and other Primates will not willingly attack the bearer unless they are magically compelled to do so or the bearer attacks them first. • Wise, mischievous, humble. Speaks in riddles STATISTICS

![]() Long story short, my pirate players, while in Absalom on an unrelated quest, have all decided to try the test of the starstone. Consequences be damned! So does anyone have any advice for a group test/dungeons idea? I was thinking individual tests, but scheduling would not work out. So they well be doing it as a group, right now they are trying to find unique ways to cross the pit. ![]()
![]() So Long Story short, I am making an Illusionary set of armor that looks, feels, and smells like real armor. But in truth it is a glamor effect and provides no bonuses Ac or anything. The Base item is for the neck slot using the spell Mirage Arcana. Maybe some prestidigitation for a flashy donning effect. Yet, using RAW would be around 360000gp(5x9x2000x4), and I think that is way too much. The item would be only be able to create an illusion of one specific set of armor, for the wearer, so I think that would reduce the price. What do you guys think the price should be? ![]()
![]() We have one session left in the Reign of Winter AP and my players are talking about what they want to ask Baba Yaga for as a boon (I had baba yaga tell them she would reward them). So one of my player, knowing we are going to play Wrath of the Righteous next, is going to ask here to help Seal the World wound. Apparently he did the log con on me for this AP, He made a Paladin of Iomedae whose backstory involved family in the fourth crusade, and has been planing this from the get go. I don’t see any problem with it, I just don’t know what or when it should occur. Thoughts? ![]()

![]() I have a higher lv party and our wizard just learned the wish spell, and wants to wish himself into a true (silver) dragon. His rational for this is that, asper per the reincarnation spell; you can wish to can your race back to your true race. So why can’t you wish yourself to another race. The party has the money to do it, and they are all on board. Thoughts? ![]()
![]() I am starting a new campaign and I have a player that wants to have a Figment Decoy Human Familiar. The backstory is that her human wizard underwent a magical mishap that turned them into a koala like creature, 10 rp creature made with the race builder rules, and resigned to her fate dreams up a familiar that looks like she did before, to act as her “face” when dealing with the public. I liked the idea of the twist with the wizard familiar trope. However, I am not sure how to stat it. Since most familiars are CR ¼ I was thinking of having her use a LV 1 commoner human as a start with a +3 to bluff as its benefit. Any thoughts or suggestions? Also, If she takes the improved familiar feat should I allow here to figment to take class levels to be a CR 2 creature? ![]()
![]() So my players have killed Karzoug the Runelord of greed and now one of them wants to take the mantle of the Runelord. Since we are continuing the campaign to higher levels I see no problem with this. However, apart from Looting Karzoug body, wearing his cloths, and wielding his swag how do you think one could officially become a Runelord. At least in the "eyes" of the Alara'quin Karzoug's Burning Glaive and Chellan, Sword of Greed. I was thinking of having them use the anathema archive to learn how, but what that would be is why I am asking. Any Ideas would be appreciated. ![]()
![]() My players have met an important NPC in a variation of the Skull and Shackles adventure path that has Schizophrenia and paranoia. So instead of curing him the long and expensive way, they want to kill him and reincarnate him, figuring that reincarnation should fix any mental instability caused by outside sources as it has been established that was not mad to start out with. Any advice on how I should proceed? ![]()
![]() So I was running the Skulls and Shackles Campaign when the pc's decided to go off and do something else. Long story short, they stole baba yaga’s teleportation cauldron and are now in on another plane of existence, yet as of now they think there just near the crown of the world. Natural most of the crew did not sign up for this kind of adventure and would like to go back to the shackles. I would like ideas for a decent mutiny that doesn't involve the pcs just walking through their crew. Of the original crew it is the 4 pc level 8 (a gunslinger, ninja, witch, and alchemist) and Sandara Quinn (the rest died or were given ships of their own). The rest of the crew is sailors picked up at port, a slave they bought for comic relief, and a merfolk wizard who they allied with too uses the cauldron. Any suggestions? ![]()
![]() I have a player that wants to take the Monstrous Mount - Feat for his level 5 druid in our skulls and shackles game, but he wants to reskin a Hippocampus as a Large shark. Any suggestions on how I should alter the starting/4th/and master steps. I was thinking of changing its base bite attack to d6 with it increasing one step each level marker. ![]()
![]() So my pcs finished a modified shattered star campaign and two of my pc’s cast wish and miracle on the body of xin to restore him to life and redeem him. I thought it was an interesting idea, as you have the chance to redeem an evil runelord in wrath of the righteous, and xin was not evil per say just went every mad. Also, I could not see Xin not being willing to return as he went through this whole clockwork mess to begin with. So now they want to hunt for other rune lords, with their old master Xin. I am not sure how to stat Xin, I have never made a wizard before, and many questions keep popping in my head. Should he be mythic? What school would he be of? Would strength be a dump stat if he could hand forge an entire clockwork army? Any Advice would be appreciated ![]()
![]() Is there a non evil way of preventing a soul from being Raised, reincarnated, resurrected? I am player that is playing a devout cleric of Pharasma. Who believes that, unless with a divine pardon, anyone that dies should stay dead as it is the natural order of things. So wishing to role-play my character better, I am asking this question. As of now I can only find evil ways of doing this, any advice or things that I am overlooking? ![]()
![]() What would be the best class that would mimic the randomness (dice rolls to determine an effect) of a forth edition wild Mage Sorcerer? I am starting a campaign that is a continuation of a unique 4ed campaign i did, which i have retconed onto Golaron. Most of my other players have straight converions. Wizard to wizard, cleric to cleric ext. But This one we are having trouble with, any suggestions? ![]()
![]() I am starting a campaign in Absalom, and two of my five players are members of the Pathfinder Society. They are beginning at level 4 and I was wondering what would an appropriate level of fame and prestige for them to have if they were active members in the society for 20ish years. They are both of the Grand Lodge Faction, a Druid and Ranger respectively. ![]()
![]() I am looking to build a 15 point buy Ice based caster arcane character, think Ice Queen from adventure time or Jadis from Narnia. Backstory in short: From an old noble merchant family. 7th in line for control of the house until last year, after her graduation from her (School/coven/XXX) all those siblings, expect one, went missing or lost their lives. With only her eldest brother in her way, dark whispers are abound of when he too will “be removed from the picture” and she sits on her families trading throne. A practitioner of the winter arts and with a personality as cold as her magic, she navigates the webs of business and nobility with the grace and ferocity of winter itself. She has a knack for taking meager purchase and turning them into enormous profits. In truth she has done nothing, owing her rise in succession to two older siblings who did away with most of her siblings until they were quietly put down by her eldest brother. Who doesn’t see his youngest sister as a threat now, but still remains wary. Her merchant success due to smart investments and dumb luck. Her cold exterior is but a mask to hide her utter terror being thrown into the cut throat pits of politics, business, and nobility. She longs for times long past when all she had to worry about, was who she might marry. I don’t know where to go with a Witch (winter witch archetype), Boreal Sorceress, or an Admixture Wizard. Any advice? ![]()
