Alrighty Let's do this.
I'm looking for a handful(4 max) of interested players to build a kingdom in Varisia.

I'm looking for interesting stories and character concepts. Over-the-top fantastic characters are welcome.
Send me your mad engineers and your ambitious do-gooders, send me your cynical schemers and arcane explorers.

I won't explain any character creation stats beyond acceptable race and classes until I've OK'ed a concept.

Races Allowed: Anything logically and reasonably drawn from the Varisian area. Player level races unless you convince me you should get something more powerful.

Classes Allowed: If it's on the Paizo PRD it's valid.

Here's the deal, give me a concept that hooks me and makes me excited to see you and your compatriots work together to build a nation.

Roll20 games will be on sunday and we will chatter throughout the week in forums as needed.

Feel free to work your concepts together.

"Welcome I hope you enjoy your new home."
Gathering power: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1) = 5

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Please feel free to bring Divine debates and ideas here, let's keep the gameplay thread about the world and in-character discussion. Although I don't mind earlier in character discussion here, think of it as a place before the creation of the world, this worlds astral plane before creation.

Hi, I run several games but I don't play in many here, does anyone have anything Supers related I can sink my teeth into gamewise?

I'm looking to recruit for another Dawn of Worlds similar to my Izopa Game.

In this all of these Gods are being blatantly stolen/rescued from their worlds, some weren't even gods before this.
I have two players already:
Antariuk playing, Karmesh
and
Kenji Elindir playing The Divine Twins, Atresse and Zurakar

How to Apply:
I will be selecting players based on deity concepts.
I need,
Deity Name/Title
Domains or Purview
General personality and attitude
Background story

Even Gods from Earth Mythology or other stories is fair game.
Each player can try as many concepts as they like but will only be able to play 1-2 Deities.
Aside from some house rules on the Dawn of Worlds Rules there is one other important note, Hexavos is a very powerful Overgod, he is not really bound by the rules as he is the one who sets them, he prefers to play along but he may exceed the abilities of other gods for the purposes of creating a rich and interesting world.

I am looking to kidnap a handful more gods for the World of Izopa
We are using somewhat modified Dawn of Worlds Rules.

What I'm looking for:
1-2 players to join us in the second age.(our game is covering 5 instead of 3 ages)
Players that don't mind somewhat flexible rules as we work out our dynamic and world.
Players that want to see a rich and interesting world built, not just one for their munchkin races to run roughshod.

How to Apply:
I will be selecting players based on deity concepts.
I need,
Deity Name/Title
Domains or Purview
General personality and attitude
Background story

Each player can submit as many concepts as they like but will only be able to play 1-2 deities.
I suggest you look at our Campaign and the Gameplay so you can avoid concepts that are already in there.

Please feel free to bring Divine debates and ideas here, let's keep the gameplay thread about the world and in-character discussion.

World of IzopaDawn of Worlds rules

"Hahaha! Come now, don't be mad at me. I may have stolen you away from your little worlds but, now you have a new world ripe for the molding. I grant you power long since lost by most gods, for only those with the power of Origin can shape the world."

Turn order is first come first post, however you must post all your actions in one post per turn. When everyone has acted, passed, or been inactive for 24 hours(48 on weekends) the next turn shall come.

Turn 1:
Power Turn 1: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6) = 16
The world is rather plain at the moment. Two major landmasses the southern being more than three times the size of the northern. A calm freshwater ocean surrounds the land.
Hexavos will observe this turn.

Im looking to recruit up to six players to do some world building.
Each player can submit either one or two deity concepts.
We will be using somewhat modified Dawn of Worlds Rules
I am adding in two further options:
Planar event(Where a deity forms or sets in motion an astrological or planar detail)
Metaphysics Shift(Change the physics or background details i.e; Easy magic/Rare Magic Science vs. Magic/Science with magic)
After decide on the deities we will start playing.
Current Deities:
Hexavos, God of Origin

Welcome this area is for open crossover situations and major events. Should we establish any time skips a city update will also be posted here.
GM's please Establish Scenes in Bold when starting a new crossover scene. Unless otherwise noted all interactions will be assumed to be playing out in the same scene/area.

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

This thread is mostly going to be focused on GM discussion and clarification on events in game.
To those playing in factions:
I AM NOT YOUR GM. I will not override their judgements and calls, if I think I need to address something with them I will do so in PM.
If and when we come to a major crossover event where the GM's want me to take over the running until the factions separate again I will do so.

I am planning to use the Gameplay thread for 3 things:

  • A general timeline
  • A place where rumors may be heard amongst the city
  • A place for major crossover events

Please direct all questions related to starting a faction in the recruitment thread, All questions about an individual faction to that GM on their threads, and any questions about the project over all here.

Good luck and feel free to chatter in here.

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

Rumors have been spreading around the city. It seems as if the Godsmouth Ossuary is in need of some 'cleaning'. The clerics of Pharasma are quietly looking for those willing to clear out a small 'problem' in the crypts. Even in a city like Kaer Maga however few are willing to dig into a crypt with priests over their shoulder. Still the money is good and there might be some unaccounted for loot in the older sections.

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

A pounding headache rings through your head. The hard floor smells of mildew and bilge. The sickly taste of cheap wine lingers on your tongue. The dark room feels as if it is still rolling from drunken endeavor.
Before any of you can do much more than sit up several pairs of heavy footsteps sound in the room and a sharp light spears into the room.
A tall man in a leather Greatcoat and a red bandana smiles painfully as he cracks a bullwhip in his hands.
"Still abed with the sun over the yardarm? On your feet, ye filthy swabs! Get up on deck and report for duty before Cap’n Harrigan flays your flesh into sausage skins and has Fishguts fry ye up for breakfast!”
He is backed up by six rough looking men armed with saps.

A quick look around reveals that most of your gear is missing and you have little on you aside from clothes.

The Tavern is dingy and rowdy but large enough that shouting for more ale is a necessity.

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

A place for players and observers to natter on and ask questions without cutting into the game.

The small island of Navigato is often shrouded in mist and fog, history states that this island once held proud mountains peering over the Varisian Gulf, however no sign of these mountains exists today save for the rolling hills surrounding large fields. These fields are empty of all stone larger than a mans chest. A small town, Magnam, has settled on the island and it is enjoying a tourism boom due to the actions of the Knight of the Hills.
The Knight of the Hills is a near mythical figure that has been seen by the islands inhabitants for generations. Only in this last year has he been seen regularly and he has now deigned to speak with villagers and outsiders. The Knight calls himself Amalgus and was long ago cursed to forever wear his armor. Amalgus seeks to bring together a crew to undertake a grand voyage beyond any ocean ever travelled. Amalgus has not said why or where this voyage shall take place only that it shall be a story worthy of legend.

The town of Magnam is enjoying a festival as today is the final day of choosing before Amalgus shall take his crew to the vessel. Amalgus has devised 5 tests to choose his crew. The Trial of Skill, The Trial of Combat, The Trial of Magic, The Trial of Wit and, The Trial of Fate. All hopefuls must win at least two contests to join the crew.

I have been planning to make several of my games connected in an ongoing gameworld that will have lasting repercussions and will grow and change as time goes on. However as PbP can make even the shortest adventures several months long, I'm looking to collaborate. I am interested in working with some GM's to make this idea grow. I will also threw this post up in Recruitment as well, but I'm hoping to recruit some interested takers.
I am interested in running areas with and without AP's.
So far I only have one game I plan on officially making a part of this world. That's Empire, Kingdom or, History? Although I may add Rise of Thassilon.

I think there are several options with this idea.

Option 1:
Each interested GM takes responsibility for a region, adventures that significantly cross regions should be run by those who are responsible for them. Although one that skirts a region isn't as big a deal.
Further on that idea, those GM's can then let me know the rough direction they want to take the region in and I can work with them.

Option 2:
We establish GM responsibility by campaign. Thus a Jade Regent Campaign would be the responsibility of one GM and a Skulls and Shackles would be the responsibility of another. If you are planning a homemade campaign then you could let me know where your campaign will take place and what it will cover so we can work around overlap.

If you can think of other options that might work I would love to hear them.

One important point about this idea is that the world will progress in it's own timeline which will change compared to the official setting timeline. Also this would mean that an official campaign or adventure could only be run once in world. Any results from an adventure or campaign will affect the rest of the world realistically and continuously.
Any ideas or interested GM's?

I'm willing to run a Skulls and Shackles game but I am missing the 5th book, so if you're willing to work with me on that, I can run it.

I'm looking for 4 +/-1 players for the game.
Classes:Pathfinder Classes only no 3pp, be aware some classes may not have an easy time being a pirate.
Level 1
HP and GoldHP max first level average+1 after that. Double max starting gold, make sure it's stuff you can carry wagons and horses will get left behind.
Traits 4 Traits one of which must be AP.
Races: Core, Mwangi related, Tiefling, Aasimar, Ratfolk, Catfolk and, Undines, Ifrits, Oreads, Sylphs

Backstory This is more important than any other detail for character creation, make me want to see your character in this AP.

In the spirit of GM Hills I will open a discussion thread as a pre-selection tavern. Please only post in character in there.

I will make my decision Friday the 11th and start the following Monday.

I'm thinking of doing a pathfinder game using the Distant Worlds book as the main focus. The party will be either using a vehicle or the portal sytem to travel between worlds.
I'm looking for a maximum 5 players, each player can build up to two characters for consideration. I may allow both characters but I will still only allow 5 players.

The Details:

Please use an alias for me to review.
Classes:Pathfinder classes and archetypes only. No 3pp or 3.5 anything. Please don't ask.

RacesPathfinder races found on Golarion only, really weird ones will need a good reason.

Level, hit points and gold:7th level, 6th level WBL, average or rolled HP whichever is higher.

Feats and traits: 3 Traits, nothing from AP's, Leadership is fine but you need to specify if you already have followers and who they are or if you are planning to recruit in game.

Posting expectations: I expect 1 post minimum M-F I won't be on much weekends and won't expect that of you either. Combat will be cinematic so don't worry if you can't post as much as some, just know the story moves on regardless.

Backstory is the most important factor in my decision making process for characters you are 7th level you should have stories by now.

Questions? If it's something that might clarify things for everybody ask it here. If it's something just for you PM me.

Last but not least mention Grand Voyage somewhere in either your alias or posts so I know you actually read the details.

I will review applications and decide this Wednesday so you only have til then to get one in.

Hi! I'm Genis Lothan. I'm looking to join some adventurers or perhaps a caravan. Does anyone out there have openings?
I studied to be wizard and I hope to get back to that but I learned how to use guns so I can prove my skills as an adventurer. Don't let my weight fool you I can really make myself useful!

This is an area for building up back story, answering questions and, general chatter. Good luck guys!

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

Rain drizzles down in the miserable weather as our... 'heroes' huddle under a canvas strung between a wagon and a cliff face. A small fire provides meager warmth. The escape from the city had been harrowing and exhausting.
Who knew you could get into such trouble by doing the right thing?
The fires of Cassomir still flaring to life in the distance as swamp gas ignites. A stuttering reminder of how the city that hated them had been saved by them.
Perhaps Andoran or Galt would be kinder to them?

Welcome feel free to bring ooc and other random chatter or backstory here, so we can avoid cluttering the Gameplay thread.

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

The Old Fang Tavern in Magnimar is unusually quiet today, as the stale air and summer heat do the atmosphere no favors. Even the ale tastes sour and flat.

The Masquerade Slasher has put all of Dockside in a foul mood. Rumors abound about the number of victims and why he replaces the face of each victim with a monstrous mask.
Some say he's a madman who sees monsters in all of his victims and just brings them to the surface. Others claim it's the sick game of some aristocrat. Some even claim each victim is a step in a dark and profane ritual.

As you and your companions finish your rounds, a scrawny youngster bursts in the door. "They just put a 25,000 Gold bounty out on that killer Pa! he shouts to a gruff looking man in leather armor. The man nods to his son and leaves the tavern quickly.

Good luck and feel free to discuss your plans, it is assumed all of the party is here, whether you like drinking here or this was the only place you could afford.

I am looking to start a 'villains' game in one month and I am looking for players.

The concept One of you is either an Oracle or is otherwise plagued with visions. When confronted with these visions they went to their closest friends(the party), during the course of unraveling these visions they became infamous in the city they were in at the time. While they stopped a great evil from destroying the city, they were also branded villains and outlaws. Since then you have been following the visions, doing the right thing where you can but often only adding to your bad reputations.

The Party I'm looking for 5-8 players, though if I find truly fantastic concepts I may go up to 10. You are encouraged to collaborate with others to build characters and I will give interconnected characters priority.

The build Level 4 since you need to be able to outpace the local authorities.

Any base pathfinder classes.

Any core or ARG races, unusual suspects encouraged!

3 traits with up to 2 drawbacks, so potentially 5 traits

Applications You can either post them here or PM me. I focus on fluff over crunch and that will be my main concern in deciding characters.
Posting When we start I will expect at least once per day M-F, though that may leave you in the dust if that's all you do.

P.S. Does anyone have a nonPFS PbP I can join? I'd love to play too.

This thread is where we can talk about the game and where it's going without cluttering up the other threads. I will answer any questions here, if I'm going to answer them publicly.

Arodus 31st, 4713
A small caravan, consisting of three wagons and several horses, makes it's way down the lonely Southern Brevoy Road. As the last day of summer begins winding into the late afternoon, a small wooden fort comes into view, if one squints past the glare of the sun a green strip of forest lies a few miles to the southwest. When one of the wagons and s a few of the horsemen turn to the north to bypass the fort, it becomes clear that many of you are headed to the fort.

Next to the first wagon, being driven by a young human woman sitting next to an elven man and a rather large dog, ride two gentlemen whose gear denotes them as devotees of Abadar. The wagon looks simple and functional, though it clatters and clinks up a racket.

The second wagon appears more lived in and is painted quite festively. It is being driven by a shapely varisian woman dressed in traditional varisian clothing.

Riding next to the second wagon is a young half-elven man of Tian descent on a pale bluish-white horse. He wears a smile at most times, though his eyes are often on the horizon. His shoulders often sport an energetic fox.

Following up the group are two riders accompanied by a large wolf.
The two riders are a solid man wearing full-plate with black hair, blue eyes and a wicked grin. Aside a large man of obvious orcish descent, geared in all manner of tools. The orcish man has been rather quiet and kept to feeding the wolf jerky most of the journey.

All players are welcome to introduce yourselves and talk before we reach the trading post

I'm looking to run a modified run of the Rise of the Runelords AP
focused more on Magninmar and similar to Shattered Star in some aspects.
This game will be run in the same ongoing game world as my Kingmaker Campaign

Party size: 4-8 players

Posting Rate: 1 per day M-F minimum likely more, until I get consistent weekend access

classes: core and base classes from all pathfinder books. No 3pp please. 3.5 under review.

Races: core and APG only

XP and progression: I tend towards powerful games loot-wise and medium XP progression.

Focus The game will have a focus on Magnimar and the growth of the Varisian city states. Ultimate Campaign is suggested as I will be using it often.

Feel free to post concepts here and PM full applications to me.
Please don't clutter the recruitment thread with full character sheets unless in spoilers. Dice rolls on the thread are fine.
Please ask any questions here unless it needs to be sneaky. Mwahahahaha!

Kingdoms? We don't need no stinking kingdoms. We're building an Empire!
About me:

Spoiler:
I have just recently joined the Paizo/Pathfinder community, but I have been gaming and running games for a long while. Hopefully my GM skills will get me into a game that I can play in as I havent gotten to play in years. I tend towards Monty Haul and Hell Yeah storytelling.

I am looking to run a play by post Kingmaker game. We will be running combat light until we can stabilize a schedule that lets us deal with combat relatively quickly. However when a fight happens it will be done proper.

Campaign overview:
Restov meant to pick some schmucks to soften up the Stolen Lands and maybe serve as allies against their political rivals. They got more than they bargained for.
Not only did they get a new nation on their borders but this nation seems determined to expand to the horizon. Will these upstarts last or will they merely open up the River Kingdoms to a new age of chaos and blood.

Campaign Details:

Spoiler:
Im looking for Level 3 characters who have style and panache.
Classes: Core and Base no replacement classes
Races: Core and APG Featured races

Sources: Pathfinder PRD as well as kingmaker and most pathfinder books, no third party please. Ultimate Campaign encouraged

Gear: three choices
A: 6,000 gold to buy non magical gear
B: 4,000 gold to buy any gear
C: The Mystery Box.... ooooooh shiny.

Traits: 3 Drawback limit 2

also:

Spoiler:
We will be using updated Kingdom building rules from UC with some tweaks by me, mostly in streamlining city building and I will only apply penalties for leader vacancies depending on if I deem your kingdom is large enough to need said position. Although the bonus for filling a position will still apply.

I'm looking for 3-5 players, who will forgive the occasional short hiatus as I will be moving cross-country soon.

"One more thing"

Spoiler:
When we finish and retire the characters I will start the next part of this campaign. Where the players will have the opportunity to play in a world that has been affected by the new nation a generation later. I hope to make this a continuing campaign where players can join a growing and changing world.

Please place interest and concepts here and PM me Applications.

I am now GMing a Kingmaker Campaign with 6 players. I tend towards Monty Haul and Take Names storytelling, but I also like to keep it interesting.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
My players are:

Lianda- Human Gunslinger accidentally sent to the River Kingdoms by way of Mana Storm, now wandering around the area with a cart full of supplies most of which are locked in a chest she can't open.

Currently forced to abandon her study into her homelands past, she hopes to amass the allies and support she needs to return without being sent to a Korvosan dungeon.

Kyra- Human Cleric of Sarenrae Sole survivor of a brutal raid on her hometown she has pledged herself to Sarenrae. She has travelled to the distant north to bring the warmth and acceptance of the Dawnflower to a savage land.

Ezren- Human Wizard a disgraced man filled with a hatred for his own family. After spending years trying to prove their innocence only to be proven irrevocably guilty, he has soured to the world. When he turned to the study of the arcane it was as an escape to the disappointments of reality. Now he has wandered to the Stolen Lands hearing rumors of the First World. He is looking for the 'Ultimate Escape' as he puts it.
