Kingdoms? We don't need no stinking kingdoms. We're building an Empire!
About me:
I am looking to run a play by post Kingmaker game. We will be running combat light until we can stabilize a schedule that lets us deal with combat relatively quickly. However when a fight happens it will be done proper.
Campaign overview:
Restov meant to pick some schmucks to soften up the Stolen Lands and maybe serve as allies against their political rivals. They got more than they bargained for.
Not only did they get a new nation on their borders but this nation seems determined to expand to the horizon. Will these upstarts last or will they merely open up the River Kingdoms to a new age of chaos and blood.
Campaign Details:
Classes: Core and Base no replacement classes
Races: Core and APG Featured races
Sources: Pathfinder PRD as well as kingmaker and most pathfinder books, no third party please. Ultimate Campaign encouraged
Gear: three choices
A: 6,000 gold to buy non magical gear
B: 4,000 gold to buy any gear
C: The Mystery Box.... ooooooh shiny.
Traits: 3 Drawback limit 2
also:
I'm looking for 3-5 players, who will forgive the occasional short hiatus as I will be moving cross-country soon.
"One more thing"
Please place interest and concepts here and PM me Applications.

When you say no replacement classes, do you mean no archetypes, no ninjas and samurai or just nothing from 3PP?
Specifically no ninjas and samurai same with 3PP though. Although I might consider it if the backstory is engaging enough. Archetypes are fine, though I would appreciate it being noted where you got it from so I can reference it.

How do you want stats? HP? and what is a Mystery Box? (thinking about an Alchemist, maybe a wizard)
Thanks for asking I forgot to mention that.
2d6+6 please.A Mystery Box means you play the lottery on gear, I may just give the bare minimum you need to function, or I may hand out something grossly overpowered. However there is nothing stopping rivals from snagging your gear if you aren't careful. :D Are you feeling lucky?
Max HP 1st lvl average or rolled after

Three more quick questions:
1)Any problems with people who have played or ARE playing in a Kingmaker game already?
2)Are we starting at the beginning of the story, just higher level or is that too much info (I actually want it to know the background on creating 3rd level character)/
3)Any other special rules/house rules/mythic rules you might be using?

3)As I do not have Mythic Adventures I won't be using any Mythic Rules. House Rules include Rule of Cool, countered by Rule of Logic. We may develop more as needed.
2) You will be starting at the beginning of the story, tweaked as I find necessary to keep it engaging. You are starting higher level, however Restov seems to think your around the capability of level 1. This might be due to you being from a distant land or keeping your exploits secret, or whatever works for your character..
1) No problems as I expect players to keep metagaming to a reasonable minimum also the sandbox nature of Kingmaker as well as my own changes should keep it fresh for you. Just remember to keep your games straight so no one gets confused by mistaken comments.

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 2) + 6 = 14
I've been doing so many character backgrounds without stats, I actually want to see what I have to play with to see WHICH idea I go with.
Hrmmm, two to decide from now. App incoming in a bit.

Concept, Elf Wizard. Evocation, prohibited schools Illusion/Necromancy. Bonded Object, Longbow. Lets do the Mystery Box. I will pm his stat block to you as soon as I draw it up. The only equipment I will be starting with is a Masterwork Bow (Bonded Object, better if given from Mystery Box), and a Spellbook containing all my spells. Will you need anything else?

I'm tentatively interested and I'll try and toss something together this evening after work. Right now I'm debating between a Cavalier/Divine Tactician Paladin style build that would work towards Battle Herald or an arcane caster of some sort (Sylvan Sorcerer or an Evocationist Wizard spring to mind).
With the Cavalier build, would it be possible to replace some Cavalier or Paladin ability with Inspire courage like an Evangelist Cleric? I was thinking the Paladin's channel energy or Cavalier's mount might be good candidates. If not, then I'd do a 1 level dip into Cleric with the Evangelist Archetype to meet the requirements of the Battle Herald. I have a backstory for the character that I think would fit well and I'll post that later.

I think instead just roleplaying a very pious Cavalier who prays for help from their deity often might be better. Also tell me what class/build you decide on so I can build you Mystery Box.
I would also allow you to trade out your challenge ability for channel energy, however you would have the alignment restrictions of a cleric.| Rikash |
To clarify Tobaris, my goal would be to play a chivalrous/devout leader of men. My goal is therefore to end up with ranks as a Battle Herald which requires the Sermonic Performance ability of an Evangelist archetype cleric or Bardic Performance. So it's that ability that I'm looking to swap into the Cavalier or Paladin class options. I can't trade away the challenge ability as it's a prerequisite for Battle Herald.
A theoretical build if you don't allow me to swap in Sermonic Performance/Bardic Performance would look like (at 7th level): Evangelist Cleric 1/Divine Tactician Paladin 4/Standard Bearer Cavalier 1/Battle Herald 1. The build in general being a decent fighter on its own, but also having quite a bit of buffing ability and being able to hand out useful teamwork feats/abilities.

That build is decent however if you can think of an ability you could reasonably propose to swap in Sermoninc Performance I will consider it.
Also I will return tomorrow as I am off today.

Would replacing the Paladin's Channel Energy ability entirely with Sermonic Performance and Perform(Oratory) as a class skill work ok? The Evangelist loses medium armor proficiency, shield proficiency, 1 domain and 3 increases in channel energy potency (decreasing ending channel energy from 10d6 to 7d6) in order to gain Sermonic Performance.
I think that may be a little in favor of the Paladin in which case I'd also suggest losing 2 mercies at level 6 and 12/15. Let me know what you think and I'll toss something together after work. Thematically this seems to be making the Paladin out to be a leader of men who rallies his friends to his cause at the expense of lesser healing potency.

Well, Take 10 and Identifynbrings my Spellcraft to 31 So we will do that for the potions. The coin on the other hand may need more sonic will go ahead and roll for that. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34
Also, here is the d6 you wanted.
1d6 ⇒ 5
I posted here becausenthe dice wasn't working in the pm.

Hmm I think it's alright for us to go with the first suggestion. While this does overpower him somewhat I tend toward high octane games anyway. Although perhaps a slight drop in AC for a turn after a performance instead, to represent his rally also drawing him as an obvious leader and target. Especially as it would be likely that you are doing your best to make yourself visible and noticed during such a performance? What do you think?

I think that seems reasonable. -2 AC for the round after starting his Sermonic Performance sound about right? Also, would the ability scale with his full Paladin level (e.g. when he gets the ability at Paladin lvl 4 he'd be treated as a 4th level Evangelist cleric for the purposes of the ability)? Or were you thinking about the ability being his Paladin level -3 or something?

It's up to you either a minus -4 AC for equal level progession or -2 for Paladin level -2. Sound fair?

Hmm, if you are still accepting applications Tobaris, I've had the concept for a bounty-hunting Inquisitor bouncing about for a while. Let's see if the dice are kind...
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 = 8
Nice! Is it alright if I get an alias with crunch and further background up by this evening? I just looked at a clock and was filled with remorse...

After a little thought, I am contemplating an Angel-Blooded Aasimar Cleric of Abadar. Bringing the Law to the Stolen Lands!
Edit: Do we place the stats where we want, or are they in order?
