This thread is mostly going to be focused on GM discussion and clarification on events in game.
To those playing in factions:
I AM NOT YOUR GM. I will not override their judgements and calls, if I think I need to address something with them I will do so in PM.
If and when we come to a major crossover event where the GM's want me to take over the running until the factions separate again I will do so.
I am planning to use the Gameplay thread for 3 things:
- A general timeline
- A place where rumors may be heard amongst the city
- A place for major crossover events
Please direct all questions related to starting a faction in the recruitment thread, All questions about an individual faction to that GM on their threads, and any questions about the project over all here.

GM Choon |

I have a question for Choon, should s/he check this thread.
What kind of resources do Tears start with? I mean, Korrith could probably make a mutagen from a bottle of rotgut and hobo vomit if he tried, but what kind of wealth would he get for equipment?
As that is specific to my thread, it will be answered in the recruitment thread for the Tears, when I get it up. Should be up in a few hours, but no promises. My life is bedazzled with chaos at the moment.

Thinking we should have some sort of summary format for the factions. Let me know what you think of what I got below. Advice and suggestions are always welcome. ;)
Goal: Power and Knowledge
Alignment: Strongly towards Lawful and Neutral
Leader: Council Head Sadron Whisperspell (LN Male Drow Noble Wizard 11)
Headquarters: Phaedan, The Crow Piling
Territory Presence: Underbridge
Not all of the most powerful Solrath mages died in their battle against the drow houses. While less then a handful of the Solrath's best survived they did not remain whole. The great houses attacked only when they had the perfect weapon in hand. A mad female mystic had created a potent curse that stripped spellcasters of their ability to use magic of any kind. Using a powerful ritual and priestesses the spell bane curse struck the greatest mages of Solrath down. Protected by their brethren some survived and all those who took part in the ritual were assassinated. The dangerous knowledge of the curse was lost, such a weapon could not be allowed to exist. Still the Solrath search for a cure or those favored enough by the gods to restore their comrades. Yet the cursed are not useless for they retain their knowledge and skills perfected over years of study and devotion. Should they be cured the Solrath Consortium's power would multiply over night with the restoration of these powerful masters.

I have a cunning plan for my kobold; he has the Draconic Aspect feat. He starts with fire resistance 5.
At 10th level, he gets access to the detonate extract. Not useful, right?
At 11th level, I can make Korrith immune to fire damage. Ka-BOOOOOOM! Totally safe! Unless you're not me.

GM Tallgrass |

Goal: Obscene wealth and the power that accompanies Scrooge-McDuck-like piles of coin.
Alignment: Neutral Evil - though many people are unaware of the Consortium's nefarious involvement in its dealings.
Leader: Unknown. The Consortium is organized by a serious of shadowy figures known as the Patrons, but none other than the Patrons know who they are.
Magnimar Agent: Maiveer Sloan (NE male Taldan rogue 11)
Player Point of Contact (Once they're officially initiated into the Consortium): Tyvain Labreque (LE Human Bard - Not sure what level yet)
Headquarters: The Bronze House, Dockway
Territory Presence: City-wide

GM Choon |

When should our posting deadline be?
Alignment: Moderately Lawful, Neutral - It's activity as a law keeping organization leads it's perception by most people, but it is a business, and business will do what they can to profit themselves.
Leader: Deepest Sorrow Honored Glory
Magnimar Agent: Sorrow Caligrific
Player point of Contact: Sorrow Absentia
Headquarders: A small warehouse directly bewteen the Eyes of the Hawk and The Old Fang Tavern
Territory Presence:Dockway, Capital District

DM Alaion |

Point of clarification, when I say Territory Presence I mean they control some turf in that area. Sort of like a foothold. Some districts I would think that is ether impossible or a PC event in itself at higher levels. The Ordellia, Naos, and Alabaster districts would be at the top of the list. Their are exceptions and the list changes depending on the nature of the faction. But I think those three would be hardest to get into regardless. Dockway and Underbridge I think would be the easiest to get into regardless.
Thoughts?
@GM Tallgrass
Tyvain Labreque would suggest lvl 7 would be good for a bard.
Goal: Power and Knowledge
Alignment: Strongly towards Lawful and Neutral
Leader: Council Head Sadron Whisperspell (LN Male Drow Noble Wizard 11)
Player point of Contact: Verdir (LN Doppelganger Rogue 3)
Headquarters: Phaedan, The Crow Piling
Territory Presence: Underbridge

DM Alaion |

Aw need to readjust things again. Another fun fact below too. x3
Goal: Power and Knowledge
Alignment: Strongly towards Lawful and Neutral
Leader: Council Head Sadron Whisperspell (LN Male Drow Noble Wizard 13)
Player point of Contact: Verdir (LN Doppelganger Rogue 3)
Headquarters: Phaedan, The Crow Piling
Territory Presence: Underbridge
The Solrath Consortium did not flee their former homeland empty handed. Few of their number were foolish enough to think they would never need an escape or getaway. Many prepared for such an event by hoarding resources should such an event occur. So they brought more then just their knowledge and skills with them on their journey. Upon settling Phaedan and discovering Magnimar near by they began unpacking and making use of these resources for their goal. Many of which are unknown to Magnimar or the surface world.

Tobaris |

These are all looking good so far. I think that whether the factions are aware of each other should be between each GM so if you think they would then they will.
I thought we established our deadline for character applications, I will repost it here:
November 8th For character submissions.
November 10th Game start.

GM Choon |

You can solve it the easy way and just outlaw underworld races.
Or say you're a traveling mercenary group who's finally decided it's time to settle down and try running a town instead of just burning them. And, for starters, you've decided to rule Magnimar. Trying to start small, ya know.

Voyd211 |

What do I do if I have two different characters?
I made a kobold alchemist specifically for this, but then my brain went on autopilot, and now I have a dhampir ranger. If there's anything that needs to be known about me, it's that I'm HORRIBLE at choosing between options. Do I just keep one as backup, in case the other dies, or can I alternate using them, or what?

GM Tallgrass |

I wrote this for my recruitment thread and thought it might be worth sharing here. Feel free to borrow, tweak, or ignore for your own recruitment threads.
About The Campaign
The game will take place in Magnimar, a large, wealthy and adventure-filled Varisian city. Multiple factions exist in the same city, each with their own goals, territories, and members. You will play a character in one (or more, GM-approving) of these factions alongside the other factions in other threads, with other GMs. Your actions or inactions will affect them and theirs will do the same to you.
As you work towards the aims of your faction, you will increase not only your experience and character's fame, but that of your faction, granting you and your allies bonuses, equipment and prestige.
There will be intrigue. Interactions with other factions (yes, that potentially means PvP combat). And all manner of urban adventures. All in the hopes of spinning a grand tale.
Why You Should Play as an Aspis Consortium Member
There is nothing money cannot acquire - power, knowledge, love (the bards are wrong) or simply a cold cup of ale. The Aspis Consortium recognizes and embraces this reality, granting its loyal members access to obscene wealth, power and knowledge.
We are not noble. We have no desire to save the downtrodden. We exist for profit at any cost.
Those who align with our ambitions will be richly rewarded. All others are simply annoyances to be bought off, stepped upon or wiped out.

GM Choon |

If he takes the crafting skills it shouldn't be too bad. 1/3 cost is nice as long as it's mundane ammo. Honestly I haven't thought about it much as I don't have any of those submissions.
As for me, I noticed that psionics were being submitted elsewhere. I wasn't aware that was allowed. Must have missed the post. Is this being treated as a GM things or are we allowing them Loom-wide?

Jen the GM |

I was allowing psionics because they are effectively paizo-made at this point, and it would be terribly hypocritical of me to ban them, considering I personally enjoy using psionics in general. At the very least they are weaker than the corresponding arcane magic, so balance-wise, I think they are okay. Setting-wise, I did not think about that.
As for firearms, I think they are already well restricted by their cost. If you even consider say the guards of a faction, the faction would certainly hire more soldiers with mundane weapons than a single firearm wielder.
