"Hahaha! Come now, don't be mad at me. I may have stolen you away from your little worlds but, now you have a new world ripe for the molding. I grant you power long since lost by most gods, for only those with the power of Origin can shape the world."

Turn order is first come first post, however you must post all your actions in one post per turn. When everyone has acted, passed, or been inactive for 24 hours(48 on weekends) the next turn shall come.

Turn 1:
Power Turn 1: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6) = 16
The world is rather plain at the moment. Two major landmasses the southern being more than three times the size of the northern. A calm freshwater ocean surrounds the land.
Hexavos will observe this turn.

Fel steps forward, looks down over the land, and shakes her shadowy mane. "No... I do not approve. The land is misbalanced." Her hoof comes down on the ocean, and the sea floor heaves and writhes as it raises up out of the ocean, forming a 3rd continent, counterbalanced against the other continent.

For future reference roll for each god's power. Hexavos has 16 stockpiled power. Fel should roll his own power in the future for now we will just assume he got a 16 on turn 1.

The Leviathan appears; a being of the mind, in a world without minds. Almost instantly it feels its self disintegrating. Wildly it reaches for the power of the Origin 5d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 5, 1) = 19, but to no avail. Th Leivathan is proud, but finds itself now begging the other gods.
"Please... someone... I need minds... help me."

Hexavos chuckles slightly. "Not to worry friend I can spare some aid. We can't have you ending before the beginning. You'd be stepping on Yidhra's toes then."
Hexavos sends a trickle of power to The Leviathian to ground his wild need for thinking life.
Hexavos transfers 3 of his power to The Leviathan. 13 Power Remaining for Hexavos

The Leviathan takes the additional power and stretches out across the world, looking for something he can raise to sentience... Success! A neuro-parasitic fungus that infects the minds of a primate species, leaving them as drooling near-mindless slaves to their infection.

Leviathan teaches them Betrayal.
Leviathan gifts them with Nightmare.
Leviathan traps them in Mazes.
Leviathan seduces them with Fashion.

Betrayal requires Trust, and Language, and Society, so Leviathan teaches them these also.
Nightmares require Fear, and Hope, and Imagination, so Leviathan gifts them these also.
Mazes requires Memory, and Foresight, and Planning, so Leviathan traps them with these also.
Fashion requires Beauty, and Art, and Culture, and Pride, so Leviathan seduces them with these also.

A few small changes to make them even more beautiful to Leviathan and he is finished. His new creatures start to spread, and as they do their minds house The Leviathan, just as their hosts house their minds.

The Leviathan almost weeps at the beauty of it.

A figure quietly floated in the godly realm, watching and waiting as others began the process of forming the worlds. They said she was many things - and, as was often the case with gods, this was true. Slowly, the figure rotated in place, stopping once everybody else was upside-down but doing nothing else.

Yidhra will observe this turn.

Valis awakens, in a new world and without form.

I'm not in Albemuth?!

I suppose it could be worse, and it would be interesting to start from the beginning...and with something simple.

Hexavos to the heavens.
"Some lighting aside from the sun and stars is in order."
Hexavos creates The twin moons Roam and Kine.
Roam is formed of various crystals and has shallow seas of water covering most of it's surface, providing a shimmering prism effect on Izopa for 3 days 4 times a year.
Kine is formed of a pale smooth stone. Kine slowly wanes and waxes over 60 day periods disappearing from view on one end of the cycle and shining brightly enough to be nearly as half as bright as day on the other.
Kine is closer to Izopa while Roam circles more distantly.

Yidhra finished her rotation - an eon spent doing nothing but circling around, slowly drawing power into herself as she contemplated the world before and saw every possibility of its existence... including the one that was really going to happen. For reasons of her own, she seemed entirely content to continue waiting with all the infinite patience of a divine being.

Yidhra will observe this turn.

Fel looks over the world, and is fairly satisfied at this time, in general. She stands upon the land she created earlier, and stamps her hoof again, and again the ocean roils and boils and heaves, and the land doubles in size, forming a roughly circular land.

Then she walks to the north, and her hoof lands again, and the ground groans, sheer cliffs rising up out of the oceans and mountains forming a half-ring around the center of the island. Within the mountains, a river springs to life, forming the first part of a spiral.

Spent 18 points
Mountains do not take up the entire hex, they're about 50 miles deep all the way around the edges. My assumption is that once the land is created, one shaping is required for everything in it, not one for the mountains and one for the river, yes?

That is correct in a given hex although a temperate climate is assumed unless you also change climate, don't forget to place your river and if you don't mind can I shrink and multiply your mountains?

No skin off my nose, you're the GM. As long as they ring the outside of the island. I kind of hate a perfectly round island, but short of me starting up Fractal Mapper, that's about all I can do with Google Draw. On a separate note, can we have the map put in the campaign info? The first box on the campaign info tab, that will make it appear at the top of the screen all the time.

Done. Also the maps are vague to begin with but after we complete the world map. I hope to either commission a map or have someone volunteer to fancy and detail it up.

I can do a fractal mapper 8 version if you like.

p.7 of the official rules says we get additional power per turn if we end each turn with low totals. Does it work that way in this game?

Good question! Fel would have some more power as well.

Yes one more per turn if your power level is less than 5 you get +1 next round this stacks up to a +3 until you end a turn with a power level of 5 or higher

THen Fel has 1 power point, not 0. And will gain +2 next time.

Fel continues her walk along the island, and mountains and trees spring up around her. As she continues to walk the spiral, her steps become a dance, the dance of spiraling madness. The river forges it's way to it's source, the mountains erupt from the ground, trees explode up and spread their branches with odd white leaves.

As she reaches the center of the island, she dances in wild circles, her hooves flashing, her hair spinning about her as it takes on a life of it's own.

Thousands, tens of thousands, of purple crystals break up out of the ground, some hundreds of feet high, some mere inches. A dark lake explodes upwards in a fountain of dark water, and the river has it's source, the two joining with a crash of water. White leafed trees erupt from the ground around the lake, and pale white grass springs from the ground. Odd black and purple flowers bloom in clearings.

4 hexes terraformed : 12 pts

When complete, she stands on the dark lake, and looks above, and waves her hand. Cold and moist winds begin to compete over the island, forced in by the spiraled mountains. A permanent cloud cover forms over the interior of the island, blocking all light.

Yet.. there is light... as the giant purple crystals glow in the darkness, providing an odd light that distorts all normal color. The leaves of the white trees begin to glow in the purple light, shedding yet more light of a pale green nature. The grass as well. The odd black and purple flowers erupt in a riot of unnatural color under the dark light, oranges, blues, reds, greens.

Alter climate 1 hex : Perpetual cloud cover, spills over to nearby hexes at the edges, stopped by mountain peaks : 2 pts

The cloud cover blocks all light. The crystals glow and give off ultraviolet light (black light), causing the trees to floresce, as well as the grass and flowers. Basically it looks like a 70's acid trip.

The Book of Yidhra
Chapter One

1. The Goddess of Knowledge looked upon the world as it was formed, and was both pleased and unhappy with what had happened.
2. The Goddess calmly reached up and plucked a hair from her head, weaving it into a silver net that she cast around the world.
3. And the Goddess said, "However far apart life may be, let there be one thing they share."
4. And the Goddess pulled the net tight, transfixing all life and granting it understanding of what she had done.
5. The Goddess considered her creation for a time, then spoke to all living things.
6. "When you rest, I shall welcome you to my Dreamscape, and while you remain within your dreams I shall protect you."
7. "But if you desire knowledge, then leave your dreams and brave the path to me."
8. "There will be many dangers, for wisdom is never without its price."
9. "But always remember this: Those who seek knowledge will find it."
10. The Goddess was satisfied with what she had done, and she rested for a time.

So much to indulge in...

Since there’s mountains on one large landmass, I think the opposed on the other end would be fitting.

With seismic power, Valis detonates the earth, rich ore exploding upwards and outwards leaving a ring of boreholes extending all the way to the mantle. Standing at one edge, a mortal could just barely see the other edge at the horizon.

Feeling the intense heat seeping from beneath the earth, Valis wonders how it will affect the weather.

"You're disturbing the balance, foolish one. The crust cannot sustain such wounds and remain stable. Do you wish to destroy what we work for here? Or are you simply stupid?" The centaur asks curiously.

"They're but insignificant skin piercings compared to the rest of the surface."

While they may be deep, each borehole is only several kilometers in diameter.

"But they directly pierce the mantle. And in a circular formation. That weakens the mantle in one spot. As pressure builds with age, that entire section will become destabilized. Volcano's will grow, ash and soot will be spread, a permanent winter will occur." Fel responds, her eyes glazed over with purple mist. "Life shall wither and die, and eventually the surface will split and crack and the world itself shall shatter and become as dirt in the stream."

"They only touch the mantle, not pierce all the way through. Still, I do see the point about vulcanism. Perhaps you can do something creative about the boreholes?"

Fel sighs. "My own efforts to provide permanent balance have been set back by 900 years to fix your mistake." She says somewhat grumpily. "In return, I request you transfer some power when you have some more."

create soul-homes

Leviathan is bitter at the Dreamlands. It is that which ties together minds. This dreamland pushes into it.

Determined to mock this creation and make his own mark upon his favored creatures he cuts off a bit of himself - the tie that binds them - and grants it to his creatures.

Let each of them have their own little world. A soul-home. As their body is host to their mind, so their soul is host to their soul-home. Each Vosarum a weak point in the worlds between itself and it's soul-home.

Now they have a place to rest safe from the Dreamlands. A place to build. A place to be alone. There is no time in the soul-homes. A creature there has eternity, without worry about hunger, or thirst, or age. A world that reflects their own souls. A paradise.

A mockery.

A hell.

For if ever a Vosarum enters its own soul-home, then the weak point is gone. It is trapped. Forever.

To counter an event, you have to perform another event. Even on your own creations. I believe, from reading the rules.

Yidhra smiled as she floated through the void. She rather liked the Leviathan's creations - they were very pleasing to her, considering how they were a combination of gift and punishment. Power continued to gather within her as she watched both the world and the other gods, waiting for the right moments to make her own marks on the world.

To clarify Yidhra has already rolled her power for turn 4. We will move on to Turn 4

Hexavos Gather his power to give the elemental planes form. However he has not the power to form them all He shall begin with the Plane of Air, creating a portal to the plane high above the center of The Pitted Ring of Valis. He raises mountains in the untouched center of Valis' Ring filling a lake in their center. He creates six rivers each leading to the edge of each Pit. He then shapes the climate around the portal to cause the resulting steam clouds from each pit to be pulled and cooled by the Portal to air, causing the clouds to pour themselves back into the lake from whence they came.
Event to create plane 10 points, 2 Shape Land to form mountain lake and rivers 6 points, 2 shape Climate to create localized rain cycle.
"Fel perhaps we can turn this imbalance unto a new gem. Might I suggest using your power to reinforce the ring and perhaps assisting me in the creation of a Plane of Fire to recycle the heat lost in the Mantle?"

Fel nods. "Much as I'd planned. It shall have.. odd.. repercussions going forward for the economy, compared to most worlds." She seems oddly amused.

Gather Power: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 3, 1) + 3 = 13

Rather than try to re-terraform what was done, she instead begins to dance in a spiral around the newly formed pits. Her hooves drop shadow into them as she dances over them, an whirlwind of fel magic drips into each and every pit, elemental madness descends into the depths of each pit, and merges, forming a spiral structure that permeates the ground, from the depths of the pits to the top, and then she closes the whirlwind and fires 6 arrows from her bow, each arcing out and landing simultaneously in the pits.

Energy explodes and madness unleashes itself on that which was wrought by another. The dark madness creeps it's way into that creation, forever altering it. When the dance is done, the pits glitter darkly from surface to bottom most crevice. Where once stone and dirt held sway, the madness has concentrated things, altering not what is, but what was made. Instead of pits of stone and dirt, Fel's dance alters the original creation by reaching back in time and infecting it with her madness.

Black diamond permeates all the pits, it's structure built in upon itself in a six sided pattern that provides strength. The diamond, hardest of all natural substances, and highly resistant to heat. And the perfect substance to provide a gate to the future plane of elemental earth, and at the crucial depths, where it repulses the very mantle itself, the heat will be perfect for a gate to the plane of fire.

An Eon passes and The Leviathan grows bored with his creations. A mere four centuries in they deduced the missing of their race had travelled to soul-homes. Now they practice meditation to avoid an accidental slip.

Stealing shamelessly Yidhra and his own nature he crafts tunnels, corridors, between the soul-homes. Whenever a Vosarum interacts with another Vosarum the link between them becomes part of their soul-home. Soon there is a labyrinth of twisted tunnels between soul-homes of the living and the dead. An endless, multidimensional maze.

Leviathan is pleased.

Now his people can travel from one soul-home to another, and from a soul-home to the place where that Vosarum is.

He attempts to command his people to make it more and discovers the difficulty in communication with such insignificance. While the others play their games his effort is sufficient only to convince them to start building a city in the labyrinth of their own-soul homes.

One hunter discovers he can store his kills, trade them to his friends, and still return to his wife. Families start living in each others soul-home in shifts. Craftsmen start to emerge. It is a primitive city, but it is the First City.

They call it the Labyrinth. They call it the Maze. They call it the City. They call it Home. A hairsbreadth from their city they mad ones trapped still in their isolated soul-homes scream insanely and call it Hell.

Yidhra laughed delightedly as the world continued to form and power continued to flow into her body. Such combinations of things were truly a treat to behold. There was nothing at all that surprised her, but she'd long since decided to enjoy things as they happened, regardless of her knowledge about them - when she wasn't too busy forgetting about things, anyway. The paradoxes amused her.

Truth be told, she had little interest in the physical scope of the land - she was more interested in preparing the way for what would come after. She was interested in life itself, for it was living things that sought knowledge, entered dreams, and otherwise provided the majority of her entertainment. There would be time enough for life to be made later, though - for now, the foundations of the world needed a little more work. She wasn't much of a creator when it came to such things, though... on the whole, she usually preferred to remain within her own domains.

Yidhra will observe this turn.

Gather Power: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (4, 3, 2) + 15 = 24

Now that the world is back on course, Fel returns to the island she was working on, and implements the next part of her mad plan to keep the world balanced. She wanders the island, touching crystals. Mad whispers follow her, one.. two.. one hundred ninety two... four thousand eight hundred forty seven... and finally... nine thousand, nine hundred, and ninety nine.

And when the whispers hit their gibbering climax, Fel releases a pulse of energy through the crystals, and they all begin to show cracks, from the greatest to the least...

...forms step out of the crystals, the cracks they leave sealing over, but not without leaving a few shards of purple crystal in the body of each of the creatures that steps out.

No two are the same, some are gorgeous beyond comprehension, some are hideous beyond nightmare. Some are as tall as the trees, and others as tall as a blade of grass. Some have two arms and legs, some have no arms and eight legs, some have four arms and two legs. Each and every one has a matched mate though, one different yet similar enough.

And yet, they do not mate, not now, it is not the right time. Instead, they grow their power and bide their time, learning about this world, about themselves. The power of each is terrifying, each worth a thousand mortals. They do not age, they do not sleep, they do not tire. They are the Ur-Fey, and their only purpose is to maintain the balance on this new planet, and they will bring the full might of their wrath down on any who through willfulness or stupidity try to unmake the balance.

Spent 22 of 24. 2 remain.

By the way this is Turn 5 so if there is a unanimous vote to move to the next age we can do so. In my version the second age will have the same costs as the first with the exception of race creation and command race. They will have second age costs, these races will be precursors and most of them will fade, leave or die out before the end of the game.
"I'm happy if you'd like to move on or keeping tinkering in the beginning."
