Human GM

Should we be making aliases, or just using our standard ones?

Aliases would be nice if not Just make it clear which god is acting in a given situation.

Rules question: can you go halvies with someone on making something?

Absolutely. I think it would also be fair to say this is one of the situations in which a god who has not acted in a turn, or who has power remaining may step in even if they otherwise had passed in a turn.

Sorry about that, I thought you were rolling for everyone.

How many dice do we roll? Rules say 2d6, Hexavos rolled 3, and Leviathan rolled 5. So I'm not sure how many I am supposed to roll.

I'd love to make an alias for Valis but someone's cybersquatting on it. Seriously, a name with no activity. :(

Try putting a title of some sort behind the name, like I do. ^^

I believe that Leviathan may have an issue.

There haven't been any life at all created yet, so... the fungus has no primates to infect...

Or did I miss something and it's assumed there's life? I thought we had to add that.

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

Life can be assumed. Races of signifigance or intelligence must be made with create Race. You can assume nondescript life of virtually any stripe, although those that require certain environments may not exist yet. Events and Create race can distinguish any particular race.

Also in the Campaign info tab I explain the house rules.

For the record, The Leviathan's race are called Vosarum, plural vosarii.

Yep - we've been PMing :)

Hey Tobaris; you talked about messing with planes and so forth.
I would like to grant my people a soul-home. Everyone has a tiny little extradimensional space that is and represents their soul/mind. A sort of a dreamscape. When they interact their soul-homes gain a tiny but long corridor-like link. As they become closer the corridor gets bigger and shorter, until eventually the soul-homes touch and finally join.

How much does this cost?

I don't want this to be something they can do so much as something they must do.

Bonus points if they go there when they sleep.

Hmmm I'd argue that would be an event much like the moon creation, so it would be 10 points. Another 10 points if this becomes a full plane or afterlife.

Female Human Geek 6/Mother 14

Wheeee! Been running my kids around. Should have dinner time after work today.

If you would like to do up a fractal mapper after the game to give us an improved map that would be appreciated.

I'm not countering. Creating another extra-dimensional place (or in this case a whole lot of little ones).

But that would require expending power, which you didn't.

I spent 10 - maybe I need to make that clearer.
Had 9 saved from last round, was lent 0, rolled 10, had 19, spent 10, had 9.

Ah, ok, that's fine then. The post said 0 spent so it looked like you hadn't spent any power on it.

Hey, you mentioned the need for a thing with dreams - and that's Yidhra's domain. XD

Though I did set it up specifically to ensure that the Lord of Nightmares would have the opportunity to act on anyone who left the safety of their own dreams. ^^

Ah I see. I seem to have misunderstood. We will need to work out how our realms (dream and nightmare) interact; for at the moment they do not do so at all.

Leviathan you should know for future reference you need to create an order or an avatar to command race. You will also need to mark your city on the map. I suggest using a Alpha-Numeral title on the map, such as A1, then posting in OOC the name of the city connected to it's marker. I will note the city in the Campaign description.

Creators of the race get a sect for free by rules, as I understand. Am I wrong?

At the moment the city is extradimensional.

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

Fair enough on the free sect. I would argue the city needs the cost of an event for an extradimensional aspect, however that's more for the later races. This being a powerful precursor race can be a little OP.

Male Kobold (reincarnated as) Human level 6 DungeonMaster/Level 2 Munchkin

I will post updates to game threads, later today. My internet is spotty because of storm damage.

S'okay. XD Stuff like that happens.

Obviously the Vosarii don't know the Great Lie is a lie.

I would hope so haha.
It is a pity I had initially planned for more gods from the beginning but it seems several have dropped out. I was looking at about 1-2 gods per player with 5-6 players not including myself. I am aware that Yidhra, Fel and Valis are preparing demigods for ascension. Leviathian do you plan to do the same or do you plan to go solo?
Also since we have an open spot for 1-2 players, would you guys want me to bring in more players or keep our group as is?

Having more gods could always be fun. XD Be an interesting turning point in the lore of the world, too.

Your world building, so your preference on bringing in more.

In all honesty I'd like to prepare three avatars. Sure does cost a lot of points though.
I'm inclined to suggest new players maybe should come in on the next age

There's nothing that says you can't Leviathan, when she travels the material world make sure to note where she is like the others. I'm going to start recruiting on a new thread now and when I find two people I will bring them in during the next age or so.

Ah I noticed Fel when I was editing the Campaign info I had chosen you for two deities, you can bring in Or Nassin next age as well if you like.

Also The new recruitment thread is up, Send them here
Feel free to refer your friends.

Two announcements:
1.
I have selected two more deities to come play.
Nar'Shuun and Cay'sin
They will show up in Gameplay after I introduce them but feel free to welcome them here early.

2.
Some of the Concepts I saw in the recruitment drive were too good to let go to waste, so I have started recruiting for another Dawn of Worlds game. Feel free to check in and you can apply if you want to try out a new concept, things are a little different there but mostly the same.
The Other Gods

Male God

Hello everybody, very excited to be in such a unique game!

Here's the info on Caysin if you wan to know about him.

Caysin:

Caysin
Titles The Laughing Blade, The One Among us, The White Rose
Domains Chaos, Good, Liberation, Luck, Protection
Subdomains Good (Redemption), Liberation (Revolution), Luck (Fate), Protection (Defense)

General Personality and Attitude
Caysin is a lighthearted god who believes in few shackles on life. He fights against oppression and unjust rule in all of their forms. He laughs and jests about everything, believing that is the only way to properly enjoy life. Sometimes his carefree attitude leads to carelessness.

Background
Caysin was born a man into the slums of the heart of a tyrannical nation. The law was cruel and unjust, draining the life from the people to feed the power hungry nobles and tyrants of the land. Caysin began an uprising of the people to throw off the heavy shackles that bound them. Caysin found a job near the tyrants and spied on them, feeding information to the revolutionists. It took many years of spying, stealing weapons, and planning, but eventually there was a full-fledged revolution. Rivers of blood ran through the streets as the hellknights and liberators cut each other down, but at the end of the day Caysin and the people were free. Caysin was found dead at the steps to the king's throne, a dozen dead fully armored hellknights around him. He wore no armor, his right hand clutching a dueling blade and his left clutching a white rose, now spotted with blood. On his face was a smirk, as if he had died laughing. But as his friends reached down to claim his body it faded away, the only things left behind the thin blade and the bloody rose.

I'm going to start putting the details of the races both living and extinct in the Campaign info, In a spoiler to save on space. Just so I don't have to hunt down info on your races can you give me details on your races?

Here is the stuff I'm looking for:

Insert Race Name Here:

Race Name Again
Status: Extinct, Precursor, Rare, Active, Etc.
Created by: Deity and Time of creation

Physical features: quick and dirty description

Culture: General culture and alignment leadings

Alignment Score: Races start with 2 points to be spent in Law, Chaos, Good, Evil, or Neutral. Corrupt/Purify race can change this score. Example: CE (Chaotic 1, Evil 1)

Orders: Names of any orders/organizations either specific to this race or that this race has members in.

Major Cities: Any major cities or structures belonging to the race, if any.

Advancements: Points where the Race or Cities are advanced such as Engineering, War, etc.

Misc: Any side points or details not covered

If you want to send me Race Builder Stats as well I can include them, not every race has to be playable but it does help for us to stat them.

Male GM 1

Plane-born
Status: Precursor (Active)
Created by: Yidhra, Age of Creation

Physical features: Human until 10 years old. Humanoid, but made of a planar element afterwards.

Culture: Generally Neutral. Strong emphasis on learning and experiencing things; knowledge is valued. Not isolationist, but largely content to stay put and avoid troubling others.

Alignment Score: Neutral 2.

Orders: Church of Yidhra (Auto)

Major Cities: City of the Elements

Advancements: Magic Recharge

Misc: Members reincarnate back into the world, but the race will eventually vanish if left alone simply because there are a limited number and enlightened ones go to live with Yidhra.

---

The Trial
Status: Active
Created by: Yidhra, Age of Ancients

Physical features: Variable; tend to look like the viewer's fears. They're essentially living nightmares, Aberrations that stalk the Dreamlands.

Culture: General culture and alignment leadings

Alignment Score: Chaotic 1, Neutral 1

Orders: The Trial

Major Cities: None

Advancements: None

Misc: Monster species. Won't trouble other nightmare creatures, and serve Yidhra in her capacity as ruler of dreams (nightmares are a part of dreams, and within her greater portfolio).

As for Race Builder, um... I could try it? o wo

Which age is turn 12?

Human GM

The Fey
Status: Active
Created by: Fel, Age of Races
Physical features: Widely disparant, by sub species. Any creature in the Bestiary that has the Fey subtype is a member of the Fey race. Each Fey is a sub-race of the Ur'Fey.

Culture: Culture varies widely, but each race reveres the Ur'Fey that created them, and Fel Shadowhoof.

Alignment Score: Each sub-race has a different alignment, and they are all over the alignment spectrum, from LG to CE.

Orders: Each subrace heeds the orders of the Ur'Fey progenitor.

Major Cities: The Fey have scattered all over the world, but their primary home is in the Forest of Shadows, on the Isle of Madness.

Advancements: Magic +2. More to follow.

Misc: N/A

male human level 4 rogue

This is the correct thread I take it and do we need an alias considering that this is essentially world building?

Male God

Hexavos when and how do you want us new players to jump in?

We are trying to use Aliases Viluki since we've been going for roleplaying world building.
Leviathan Turn 12 is the first turn of the Age of Ancients.
Caysin you are introduced and can jump in at anytime.

Male God

Pabthaczil:

Pabthaczil
Status: Precursor, Active,
Created by: Caysin on Turn 12

Physical features: Amphibious race with smooth, slimy skin that ranges from green to blue to red, although other colors exist rarely.

Culture: Hunters and fishers mostly, they protect their families fiercely and make their homes in the cliffs to hide from others. They try not to get involved with other races, but if somebody is in need they might help. They hold no laws but act by the unspoken bids of common decency, believing everything good or evil you do will in turn be directed back at you.

Alignment Score: CG (Chaotic 1, Good 1)

Orders: None

Major Cities: None

Advancements: None

Misc: Thrive in the heat, are excellent swimmers and climbers.

Male God

Interesting to see how so many of you are massing power. I can only imagine the massive changes that are all going to happen at once. Caysin, on the other hand, is impulsive and will rarely store power unless there is something very important he needs to do.

I appreciate any and all advice, I'm new to the system and am just learning the ropes.

Good advice for Caysin

1) DO NOT PISS OFF FEL
2) DO NOT IMBALANCE THE WORLD
3) DO NOT MESS WITH THE ISLE OF MADNESS
4) DO NOT MESS WITH THE FOREST OF SHADOWS
5) DO NOT MESS WITH THE UR'FEY

Note that Rule 1 really kind of takes care of rules 2 to 5, but 5 is a nice round number. :)

Male God

Hey, live and let live says Caysin. As long as you don't go all LE and trying to rule with an iron first there won't be any problems ;)

I can handle character things just fine, and I do appreciate the insight into the different gods, but I am more concerned about the rules side of things.

Oh, that's fairly simple.

Gather power, spend points. Rules are at the top, they're not complicated. If it's something not listed, it's usually a 10 pt event. For example, there is no 'raise avatar to Demigod' power, so it's a 10 pt event.

Subraces from existing races is pretty flexible. You don't have to create Dwarfs, Duerger, and Aquatic Dwarfs as 3 different subraces. You can just create 'Dwarven' as a subrace, and all 3 are considered created.

I spent like 20 pts to basically create every fey in the bestiary, as subraces from the Ur'Fey race. Insectile Fey, Humanoid Fey, Bestial Fey, etc.

Basically, just do the best you can and people will help.

Vosarii
Status: First Race (literally as old as time)
Created by: Hexavos and The Leviathan at the dawn of time.
Physical features: The Vosarii are a symbiotic race, a fungal creature that infects humanoids. A degree of knowledge is transmitted during infection, meaning that the race effectively lacks a juvenile stage. The humanoid currently infected is pre-sentient (basically homo-erectus)
While not a feature per se each Vosarum is intrinsically tied to an extra-dimensional realm they can enter at will. These realms are linked in a para-plane known as The Labyrinth. From inside a realm other Vosarum can travel to the location of the linked individual. Most Vosarum therefore take care to defend their soul-homes, often using their engineering and enchanting knowledge to create traps.
Culture: The Vosarum are currently the most technologically advanced race, having metalwork, writing, engineering and item-crafting. They revere The Leviathan and Hexavos as their dual creators and believe that these 'overgods' granted them dominion of the world known by the gods as The Great Lie
Vosarum are very, very careful about entering other's houses. Conversely they are happily adventurous as they can easily return to The Labyrinth - their first and primary city.
Alignment Score: Neutral 2. Vosarii have a range of
Orders: Librarians (Leviathan's order) and Creators (Hexavos' orders)Hex; is this okay?. Both default orders.
Major Cities: The Labyrinth. City of Dusk.
Advancements: Metalworking, Engineering, Writing, Item Crafting, Irrigated Agriculture.
Misc Vosarum hosts age and die, and so Vosarum die. In the Labyrinth there is no aging, no hunger. Vosarum there can live forever, slowly gaining more and more power, but also tend to go insane.
