Hi there,

I've responded to you via email.

Thank you very much. I replied to your reply via the email as well.

I have been attempting to place an order for digital content, P2 Advanced Player's Guide and Advanced Player's Guide Character Sheet Pack, for five months now. I have tried multiple browsers, adding and deleting the products, and waiting several weeks between purchase attempts. Nothing has worked though I have found pending chargers on my bank account every time that has been returned to me after several days.

I've also noticed that I'm not the only one having these issues. I realize that you're having issues do to COVID-19 like the rest of us but this is a rather long wait for a solution to an issue that is about something that is a revenue source for you as well. It's getting annoying and to the point to where I don't want to shop with you or recommend Paizo to my friends.

Silver Crusade

I second this. Even if you print in black and white only, you're still going to use a lot of ink.

Under "Paizo Inc: Community Use"

You'll see "Iconic Pregenerated 2e Characters" or something like that.

Thank you. I finally found it. I wasn't expecting it in Community Use even though that is where all but the playtest pregens are downloaded from so I'm chalking it up to brain fart and a half.

Okay so I added the pregens to my downloads but I can't find them on my downloads page. What are they under?

It has been six years since I put in my first report about this issue. I'm now at the point to where I'm not really sure I would want to give organized play via Paizo a shot because while I can understand and appreciate the fact that companies have backlogs, but six years isn't a backlog, it's disregarding the desires and needs of your customers and very disrespectful.

If I get a wild hair to join an organized play event, I'll just have to create a new account so I can start with a fresh character that hasn't been used by someone else.

I am looking through traits for a new campaign I am going to be a part of and I have noticed that in the Wilderness Wanderer Package in the Well-Provisioned Adventurer Equipment trait lists a Composite Longbow but does not list the strength modifier. Is this a typo or was it meant to allow the GM to decide on a Composite that fit the strength of the adventurer?

This is a huge fumble. Huge. We forked over good money in good faith for a product that can be downloaded for free, to have zero tracking info, zero amount of real feedback, and just a disappointing ‘oops’ email.

I ordered the book because I don’t like large PDFs. I like books. I ordered a book. There is no book, at least no this week. I suspect this won’t be sorted until after GenCon.

Major, major disappointment here. I will not make this mistake again, more fool me.

The fault lies with Amazon, not Paizo. I'm not surprised that it happened because Amazon has been messing up their shipments more and more often lately. And it hasn't just been shipments. Their site will show that they have more than enough of an item to ship it and get it to you by their standard delivery dates but then for some reason it is suddenly out of stock a couple of weeks later and you don't get what you ordered for at least a month. Next time maybe instead of ordering via Amazon, try your nearest gaming and hobby store if they are doing preorders.

I am attempting to bring my current character, an Elf rogue follower of Calistria, into 2E rules. As part of his background, he was raised in the House of the Silken Veil after his mother was killed. A part of him growing up in the House was learning the trade plied there and worked as a member of the temple staff.

When I create characters, I like to have at least part of their skills match up with their background even if they aren't likely to ever have a situation where that skill will come into use. In 1E, this was easy to solve in how to represent his profession since it's a skill and all you have to do is Profession: (I'm not going to post the job title for child friendliness reasons). In 2E, it isn't that straight forward. We no longer have the Profession skill with it instead being given to Craft, Lore, and I am going to assume Performance for the fine arts.

With all that being said, should I pick Lore: Church of Calistria or Performance: (Appropriate title here)?

I could ask the person who will GM if I play this character, but I also GM sometimes and would like to know which one other GMs think is best or even get a more official ruling as to what skill is more geared towards this particular line of employment.

This is starting to sound way too 4&5E for me.

Thank you all for your wonderful help. I was only concerned because it had been a few years since I sent my first email.

Silver Crusade

I have forwarded the first email I sent, in September of 2014, to the customer service email address at the bottom of every page. I either deleted my more recent report or sent it from a different email address. Thank you for your reply.

I have used the Report a Problem feature on my Organized Play page a couple of times because it shows that my Pathfinder Society ID number and character number was used in Asheville, North Carolina on 12/07/13. I live in Oklahoma and have never even been to North Carolina much less on that date. I created my account and character because we used to have a Society registered group in our area but they have since fallen apart and there are few of us that openly meet up to game in my town.

Is there some way that this session can be removed or that I can get a new ID just in case we do get another active group in the area? I don't really want to be playing with benefits I didn't earn.

Silver Crusade

I realized a little too late, that trying to download today was a bad idea. It's like trying to get onto a hyped up game's server the day of release. Yeah if the setting was ideal you would have either been able to account for the bandwidth drain or have another solution in place but I am sure you got hit a great deal harder than expected, especially since your not like some of those companies that purposefully keep stock small on something just to be able to keep the price up.

Silver Crusade

I look at it this way. The lawful part of their alignment could be them holding to their faith's teachings. A paladin of Cayden Cailean would be about bringing an end to slavery even if it is the law of the land because he holds to a "higher" law. This would also work in a roleplay mechanic where the player has to work within the laws of the land while also trying to undo them.

Silver Crusade

I figured the myth and the creatures had some differences when it came to Tsukumogami. I just noticed that in Pathfinder some of them are good or at least leaning that way while others are well on their way to evil. I just noticed that they were very similar in that they were worldly objects that were possessed by what are very similar types of spirit creatures.

As for the Silkling I like the way it is as a mimic type creature. It is more fun that way. I thought I had mentioned liking it as a mimic but going back over my post I see that was just my sleep deprived brain or tendency to backtrack and delete forgetting what I left in and took out by the end of the comment. I may even, if you are willing to allow it, include the creature in part of an adventure I am working on.

Thank you for posing your questions by the way because it is helpful in coming up with new stuff to see what other people are doing that is similar or totally in a different ballpark than your own ideas. You have some fun ones.

Hello Raven,

Your card is being declined because it is failing the address verification system. Usually this happens when the billing address attached to the card does not match what the bank has on file. What you are seeing are not charges, they are authorizations. Each time you have tried to submit the order the bank gets ping. When this happens most banks will put a temporary hold on the funds, which can look like a pending transaction on your end. Because the card was declined we cannot finalize these authorizations. If not finalized authorizations will expire and the holds will be released. How long that takes is entirely up to your bank and not something we can control.

Just moved so that must be the issue. I will see about updating the information here and on my card again. See if that works. Thank you for the help.

Not really all that new either. I kind feel like I've seen this character already. I guess thats why we play our own characters. Not a bad origin just doesnt feel like anything new either.

Of course this will be a common theme seeing as there is no new story under the sun. This is an archetype and a very common one for wealthy characters that befriend and wish to help poor characters. They character has her own little twists and that is what makers her unique.

I placed an order for the Bestiary 6 pdf about three days ago and my account was messed up so the order was declined because even though I had nearly $16 dollars in my account it said I only had seven cents.

I deposited more money in my account yesterday and tried to order again. This time I had over 30 but the order still did not go through. It said something about getting an email about my order. My card holder shows I am being charged for the first order that they declined and that I am being charged a second time with two different dates on the charge attempts. I have also gotten access to my PDF files the moment I ordered them before so is there something wrong with my account because of the mess up with my card at the end of last month or is there a new policy in affect or something?

Silver Crusade

Well it looks like they pretty much go hand in hand. Swap out the Vermin Empathy in Verminous Hunter for the Low Friends EX though they both seem to be the same thing anyway. Drop the Improved Empathic Link at 4 to pick up the Child of Pollution (Su), and either drop the team work feats to take wild shape or limit your beast shape spells to vermin animals.

I know the levels for wild shape and team work are off but that is all I can come up with right now.

Silver Crusade

Have you looked up information on the Tsukumogami from Bestiary 5? They have a similar flavor to what you are talking about and some of them are abandoned or lost items that tend to lean towards turning into Oni as they grow more unloved. In this case they are objects that gain some degree of life when a Kami binds to them after they turn 100 years old.

As for objects of a mundane nature that would be valuable to a person, family heirlooms like jewelry, a first pet's collar, love letters, pieces to a game from childhood, something a beloved dead relative owned and left in their will, stuff like that.

My final comments will concern what I have seen about the Perdu that you linked. The Key Perdu has some very fitting abilities. I would maybe give it claws as a natural weapon since keys can be used like claws in a pinch. Other than that I think it looks good. In this case chaotic or unfocused might be good since that is what a fey is.

As for other options for Perdu, how about that Silkling you have that follows it? Arrogance and vanity are an aspect of some of the more maligned fey. The Silkling could be the prized robes of a courtesan or courtier that has lost them or had them stolen by a competitor and that would explain the evil nature that comes with it.

Silver Crusade

Don't forget that they also have the brand new Starfinder Core Rulebook, and I would assume first adventure path for that, that they are getting ready. They have more irons in the fire than a lot of places and still seem to keep things on a relatively close to date track. A weekend of having to wait is not nearly as bad as oh say two months or longer after release date that many other RPG publishers and video game production companies make their fan base wait for their products that were slated for release.
Heck I'm still waiting on my preorder of SC: Ghost. *Yeah I know that one was killed years ago but I had to make a jab at that particular company.*

I would most likely worship three gods, Cayden Cailean, Sarenrae, and Desna while also paying homage to Shelyn, Pharasma, Milani, and maybe Arshea. Though I think this might change depending on where I grew up and where I live.

You do the +2 to all instead of the +2 to one.

I was only going by what I had seen from a couple of much older posts as to how their race traits worked. Which is why I said if you don't strip them of the baseline human race traits.

It might make even more sense to take out their extra feat and extra skill point and give them some different human friendly race traits that reflect their magic and martial legacy and add a weakness or two related to the Aboleths using them as puppets.

Deadmanwalking wrote:

That list of stats is also wildly high by reasonable standards. They'd use the Heroic Array like anyone else (or Standard Array, or Point-Buy). A generic Azlanti Wizard would thus have stats more like this:

Str 10 (08+2)
Dec 16 (14+2)
Con 14 (12+2)
Int 17 (15+2)
Wis 15 (13+2)
Cha 12 (10+2)

And then 2 Feats, 6 skills, 8 HP, and a Favored Class bonus in either skills or HP like an ordinary Human wold have.

And they definitely didn't get Aboleth for free. The Aboleths being their masters was a very well-kept secret.

I was using the standard roll system which is why the stats are so high. Every group I have ever played with has always used roll 4 drop the lowest so we get a player or two who are godlike and a player or two who have to be healed and resurrected a lot (my rogue from AD&D 1), with one or two that are just about right (my current Hunter in RotR).

Your character has a much better balance and wouldn't even throw off the balance of a standard campaign. I would love to play a wizard with those stats.

Good point about the Aboleth language. I gave it as a possible starting language because of what I could remember of the backstory which was that Azlanti were basically slaves to the Aboleth so with that being all the information I remembered it made sense.

Silver Crusade

Say you use the base 10 attribute system. Azlanti are automatically given +2 to each attribute making them base 12 in their attributes granting them 20 as a max attribute stat without the human +2 to one attribute being added making their highest possible starting score a 22 if you use the classic rolled scores. That is if you don't strip them of the baseline human race traits.

Under this assumption an Azlanti Wizard would look something like this:
(I rolled these attributes using a dice roller app)
STR: 13+2=15
DEX: 15+2=17
CON: 14+2=16
INT: 15+2+2=19
WIS: 14+2=16
CHA: 14+2=16
Feats: Improved Initiative (Starting Feat), Spell Penetration (Human Bonus Feat)
Skills: Appraise +8, Craft (alchemy) +8, Fly +7, Knowledge (arcane)+8, Knowledge (planes) +8, Linguistics +8 Spellcraft +8
Languages: Azlanti (starting), Abolith (maybe starting), Draconic, Elven, Sylvan, Common (if Abolith is not starting this is the Linguistics language), Thassilonian (if Abolith is a starting language this is the Linguistics language)

You could probably swap out some of the basic human traits for boosts to things like Spell Resistance, and maybe gain a weakness to mind-affecting effects when an aberration is the one casting the spell.

Silver Crusade

Hey I have a guy that wants to play a psychic in a campaign I am running and I downloaded your psychic sheet from your site and noticed that it seems to be missing the class specific page that you released in this tread. I went ahead and downloaded the class specific page but I thought I would give you a heads up.

I have been drawn to Cayden Cailean for the combined fact that yeah, he accidentally became a deity but he didn't become a total tool and because while he is a roguish mercenary he has a code of honor. Even though he is Chaotic he is still good.
He is the kind of god I would like to have at my back because you can have fun when he is around but also know that if some nasty brutish jerk of an orc berserker tries to crush your skull in because he doesn't like how short you are, Cayden will be their to help you stand against your enemy, sword in hand. Yeah he will also have a tankard of ale in the other but since it actually makes him a better fighter, why not?

Silver Crusade

The WotC website is the only place I know and I am not sure if they have extended their web subs to include 5e.

Silver Crusade

I know that I am incredibly late to this party, but reading through the list as it is, I read a theory or two that are similar to my own.

I theorize that Aroden has been imprisoned in the Eye of Abendego by Zon-Kuthon to be broken by the alien god breakers of the Dark Tapestry. It was during this time that Aroden detached his soul from his body to seek assistance from the other gods in ending this threat.

I'm still fleshing out the rest of the backstory, but I would like to run it as a Mythic Campaign one day.

Silver Crusade

My advice, craft a crap ton of void bombs, the old portable hole into a bag of holding/handy haversack trick, or just pick a player willing to take one for the team and mind blank him with instructions to void bomb the wizard.

Of course they are. For a certain section of the Republican base, this is gold. Confirmation of their persecution complex.
The funny thing is other parts of the Republican party are turned off by this stuff. I'm pretty sure that eventually the libertarian wing and the religious wing of the party are going to go to turn on each other.
I don't know. I've seen an awful lot who claim to be "libertarian" defending this kind of thing on the grounds of "local control" and "federal overreach".

What most modern libertarians don't seem to realize is that many of the earlier and more prominent members of the libertarian movement also shied away from or outright opposed religion, for the same reasons they oppose government. American libertarianism is working against its on "best interests."

As with so many other modern party and movement lines, modern libertarianism is one thing masquerading as another. The modern libertarian movement is actually a theocratic oligarchy movement claiming it wants government out of our personal business but seems to actually want to privatize government, also not libertarianism, with strong Puritan religious tendencies and a drive for war.

As a gay man living in Oklahoma, one of the many states claiming to be the buckle of the Bible belt. I have seen homophobia and transphobia as something that is very prevalent. Something that seems common in rural and suburban areas of the Midwest and deep South. I have even seen and experienced hetero-normative masculinity ideals within the LGBTQA+ community here, the gay man that thinks you have to be masculine if you are male or that thinks gender identity/role is determined by whether you are a top or a bottom. Luckily most of my current circle of friends, gay and straight, are not transphobic.
I think the rise in the visibility of the LGBTQ community is helping dispel much of the stigma we have had to live with throughout modern history. I like the fact that we are becoming more of a part of society and less the enemy but I see that we still have a long way to go as well.

Silver Crusade

It does sound a bit like a fetchling, though if you are using them in a custom built campaign they make for a good variant from the basic fetchling.

If you can get a copy of the original Campaign Setting book for 3.5 it also has an official pronunciation guide.

A paladin was the highest valued warriors in the court of Emperor Charlemagne. Examples are the Childe Roland and Olivier de Vienne. They were warriors that predated knights and at least in modern popular fantasy materials are precursors or even contemporaries of knights and live by a holy code much the same as that of chivalry.

Mosaic's quote from Kingdom of Heaven is one example of that code. Another Code of Chivalry and vow of Knighthood is from The Song of Roland and is listed as follows:

To fear God and maintain His Church
To serve the liege lord in valour and faith
To protect the weak and defenceless
To give succour to widows and orphans
To refrain from the wanton giving of offence
To live by honour and for glory
To despise pecuniary reward
To fight for the welfare of all
To obey those placed in authority
To guard the honour of fellow knights
To eschew unfairness, meanness and deceit
To keep faith
At all times to speak the truth
To persevere to the end in any enterprise begun
To respect the honour of women
Never to refuse a challenge from an equal
Never to turn the back upon a foe

To make it fit in game all you have to do is change out references to God, He, and Church to the deity your character follows, gender pronoun for your deity, and Temple. Or you could keep the code you choose in is original form and worship a "strange god" from a strange land.
