Well, I have fallen in love with the Magaambya since seeing the Magaambyan Arcanist back in PF1, so when I saw the Strength of Thousand AP I had been waiting for a chance to play it.
About me:
I am a 29 years old guy who has played TTRPGs for more than 10 years, starting with D&D 3.5 and slowly migrating to PF1 and lately to PF2.
I'm not a native english speaker, so PbP games always kinda scared me for the language barrier. I currently run a Rise of the Runelords (converted to PF2) game IRL, and a PbP Age of Ashes game here on paizo forums (with IRL friends, in italian)
We already completed a Kingmaker PbP game, so I'd say I can handle the additional commitment as a player.
I love the crunchy aspects of the rules, and I love playing with the rules when making characters, to create something different from the usual.
I have a good knowledge of the PF2 system, if that could help.
Sadly I never played on discord, but I can learn quickly if I will get the chance.
I still have to think about a character, but I'd love to play something strictly tied to the Academy. With the free archetype rule the first thing that comes to my mind is a character that takes the Magaambyan Attendant/Halcyon Speaker dedication path, probably starting out Wizard and multiclassing Druid.
I have managed to login through my laptop browser (Chrome), by deleting cookies, as someone pointed out.
I'm still having problems in logging in thorugh my mobile browser (always Chrome), I did clear my cookies on my phone as well, rebooted, changed password, but I still can't login.
I never played PFS rules, always thought that means a list of banned things. Is that correct?
I believe we can play a solo frontline tanky martial and a divine ranged support or a more offensive martial if the divine is also able to stay in melee range.
I can play both, maybe I can go for Herald Caller cleric if you like, a more ranged divine, but with summons to help melee (hoping it's pfs legal) xD
Hey guys, I'm a bit late to the party, and I'm actually a lot interested in this stuff.
I have been DM and player for years on Pen&Paper and recently here as well.
I would like to help, I know the system very well and encounter balance is one of the things I find most thrilling in this game, since there's never a correct answer, it all depends on the players and how they approach to the game. So I could learn something as well.
I really like to optimize and build characters, but I'm also the one who understands and knows that everyone at the table must have fun, and if the party power isn't balanced, problems arise.
If you're interested, I can build anything you want, just let me know :)
I'm mostly done, except for some minor stuff.
Katherine Dreamborne, Half-Elf Unchained Rogue VMC Magus.
Superpower: Shadow Form:
You can assume a Shadow Form as a full-round action as will, becoming a pure shadow. You can either assume a hybrid form, or a pure form.
In a pure Shadow Form, all of your gear melds into your body, and this ability works like gaseous form, with the following exceptions. You gain the incorporeal subtype and are invisible in dark environment.
In a hybrid Shadow Form, you gain concealment versus melee and ranged attack, and are invisible in dark environment.
In both forms you gain the see in darkness monster ability.
Wish: 10 Race Points:
At Will Dancing Darkness - 2 RP
1/day Deeper Darkness - 3 RP
Advanced Dexterity - 4 RP
Weapon Faimiliarity (Elven Branched Spear) - 1 RP
Special from another class: Inquisitor Solo Tactics:
At 3rd level, all of the inquisitor’s allies are treated as if they possessed the same teamwork feats as the inquisitor for the purpose of determining whether the inquisitor receives a bonus from her teamwork feats. Her allies do not receive any bonuses from these feats unless they actually possess the feats themselves. The allies’ positioning and actions must still meet the prerequisites listed in the teamwork feat for the inquisitor to receive the listed bonus.
Weakness: Light Vulnerability:
Conditions of Bright Light suppress all Shadow Form powers, and make Katherine dazzled.
If Katherine remains in bright light condition for 1 minute, she is staggered. The keeps the staggered condition for as long as she remains in bright light, and for 1 minute after. This condition can't be removed by standard means.
Katherine is dealt 1 Constitution damage for each 1 hour she remains in bright light. She can't use Shadow Form if she has any Constitution damage due to Light Vulnerability. Removing the staggered condition by staying out of bright light resets this timer.
Fear: Light:
Because of her inherited weakness, Katherine is terrified by the sun. She rarely walks in direct sunlight, and if she really has to, she uses her dancing darkness ability to get some shadow to hide in. If she couldn't use it, she would definitely hide somewhere.
Well, I mean, that is, ehm, I'll just keep the previous ones. I think. Ehm. That 4d6 being the highest is like driving me mad.
I'll think about another wish.
EDIT: hey right I forgot about HP rerolling, maybe I will get worse rolls here as well...
HP:4d8 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 8) = 18
Hurray, I improved them to average :D
I agree with you on the fact that the template is strong, I liked it because of the fear aspects it offered and it fits thematically with the character concept.
Sadly I'm afraid bad rolls and bad hps are going to impact, that's why I made the build to have a lot of evade abilities (superpower gives concealment and an escape button) and reach/blind to avoid direct confrontation, animal companion has trip to help, and fear aspects of the template help on the rolls. I think it is balanced, I could find some synergy, but I will find something else if templates are out, even if this is a CR+1 only.
Word count on my story is 1007, but I could easily write more. Probably a word count can be better evaluated than line breaks. In the end everyone is inserting line breaks here and there to get to thirty :D
As promised, I completed my character.
Let me present you Katherine Dreamborne, you can find crunch and fluff in the link.
As special perks (also in the link) I took:
Superpower: Shadow Form:
You can assume a Shadow Form as a full-round action as will, becoming a pure shadow. You can either assume a hybrid form, or a pure form.
In a pure Shadow Form, all of your gear melds into your body, and this ability works like gaseous form, with the following exceptions. You gain the incorporeal subtype and are invisible in dark environment.
In a hybrid Shadow Form, you gain concealment versus melee and ranged attack, and are invisible in dark environment.
In both forms you gain the see in darkness monster ability.
Wish: I'd like to gain the Nightmare Creature Template Special from other classes: I'll take Inquisitor Solo Tactics.
Hey guys, I'm a bit late to the party, but I saw this just today.
If you leave this open for a couple more days I can come up with a character because I really would like to join this fun :)
I completed my character, I will apply with Alastriel.
She is a half-elven Fiend Keeper Medium, which will play like a melee (and has a high will save :D ).
I will copy her backstory (10 minutes background) also here. You can find it also in the link.
Backstory(10 minutes background):
6 facts about Alastriel
1 - Alastriel(NG) is an orphan child, raised in Caliphas in an orphanage. His childhood was a rather normal one for an orphan, living in misery.
2 - At the age of 12 his orphanage closed because of a tragedy. Thirteen children died at once at the very same moment, for unknown reasons, and Alastriel was the only one to survive. She was expelled and forced to work for her living.
3 - Since then, she started developing connections with the world of spirits. The veil broke in that orphanage, and spirits started to haunt her dreams. She managed to control them with time, and started working as a card reader in the capital. Everyone thought she was a charlatan at first, but then some things she foretold did indeed happen.
4 - As she reached her maturity, her connection with spirits got more deep. She punged the Veil every now and then to seek the knowledge of the ancient spirits, and many times she was strengthened by their knowledge.
5 - Recently, she had a client which asked her to predict his future. She did it as all the other times, but this time she couldn't find anything about this man. The spirits were silent, so she thought she had to delve more deeply in the Veil. She found a presence, which attacked her. A monstruosity which was waiting someone to infest, and it attacked her.
6 - She fought hard, trying to return to the world of the livings, and in the end she managed to do so, but at a price. She cut her connection with all other spirits, she had to give all of her mind and soul to bind this dark being in her consciousness. She now is the cage of this dark being, and as long as she lives, it will be confined.
3 goals of Alastriel
1 - She must keep this being confined from being released until she finds a way to destroy it.
2 - She wants to find out more information about this being, trying to know who it is.
3 - (Character development) I would like to see Alastriel learning to control her demon with time, up to a moment in which she will be able to dominate it, with some particular event for instance.
2 secrets about Alastriel
1 - The entity infesting her is called Dark Whisper, and it is an entity of destruction. That client knew her skills, and was confident it would have haunted and infested Alastriel. He would never think she would have been able to control it.
2 - The client is part of an organization which worships these demons, and might as well try to kill Alastriel to release it from her control.
2 special people for Alastriel
1 - Jeanna was her former teacher at the orphanage. After the closure of the orphanage she was the only one who actually cared about Alastriel. She helped her with food and a place to stay, and Alastriel will forever thank her for it.
2 - She had a special relationship with the Halgrim, the blacksmith that had a shop on the opposite side of the road where she was reading cards. They were friends and maybe there could have been something more. She hopes to see him again after she destroys the Dark Whisper, but she would never put him at risk before getting rid of it.
3 special memories
1 - She remembers of the time when she fought with the Dark Whisper in the Veil. It was the most terrifying moment of her life, as it wanted to consume her soul.
2 - The time in which she was most happy was when Jeanna told her that she had never seen a more determined and strong person, and that she was proud of her.
3 - Alastriel sometimes can feel the Dark Whisper memories, but even if she rejects them, she understood that it previously haunted a man named Dervak. She has to find out more about him.
Appearance and Personality
Alastriel is a beautiful slender half-elven girl with greenish hair and deep brown eyes. She gives normal people a strange feeling, probably because of her connection with spirits.
She is sweet and cares a lot for others, and tries to be cheerful, but she does that to hide her dark side which is the wound she bears in her soul. The deaths at the orphanage and the Dark Whisper left her mind wounded with sorrow and suffering.
She reveres Desna as her goddess, as she thinks life is a journey, and she hopes one day to complete her journey.
She is binding the Dark Whisper which haunted Dervak in herself, holding it so that it can't cause trouble to the world. But she is also looking for more information about it, because she knows nothing about.
Changed my mind, I will propose a Fiend Keeper Medium to you. I was thinking about having him be the vessel of some bad spirit guy, could be connected to the story in some way. If you gave me hint I could connect him better, otherwise I will think about something.
Hey there, dotting for interest. What would you think of a poison happy alchemist? He would play mostly like a rogue, could build him either as ranged or as melee
I do have an alias I'm not using which might replace your lost rogue. He is a poison happy alchemist, which basically plays like a rogue.
He crafts a lot of alchemy and poison stuff.
This is the current build, I have already in my mind the full build path, just have to update to lvl 7. Will is bad, but I mean, rogues are bad-willed as well :D
I can keep up with the posting easily during the week, I'm not sure I can during weekends.
This is the character I will apply with, Hyde Morrowind, a ranged dart throwing poison specialist alchemist.
Linking backstory also here
Backstory(10 minutes background):
5 facts about Hyde
1 - Hyde (CG) is an orphan, raised in Daggermark in an orphanage. He was then bought by Daggermark's Poisoners Guild to become an alchemist and a thief.
2 - For most of his childhood, he had to follow the guild's orders. He had to steal, but never liked it. He instead liked much more alchemy. He became with time one of the most promising poison-making alchemists of the guild.
3 - As he reached his twenties, he started developing interest to leave the guild, going elsewhere. Obviously they would never lose one of their most proficuous goldmaking alchemists. He started plotting his escape with his best friend Eliana, another member of the guild.
4 - To escape, they made a deal with a man named Artaxes. They paid him to stop the guild from following them for some days, hindering them the best he could. He killed some of the assassins chasing them, but later they knew he told the guild where to search them for even more money.
5 - They managed to escape, leaving Daggermark and going East, deep in the Stolen Lands. They thought to stay there for a while, and let some time pass. They would later go to Brevoy or Pitax, trying to live a normal life.
3 goals of Hyde
1 - He wants to forget his past life in the Poisoners' Guild, but he thinks they will follow him for the rest of his life.
2 - He wants to protect Eliana, and find a place where she can be safe.
3 - I would like to see Hyde find his new home in the stolen lands, to fight to make that place a good home for himself and Eliana, and to find safety in it.
2 secrets about Hyde
1 - He knows many secrets about the Poisoners' Guild, and that alone can be a reason for them wanting him dead.
2 - Atraxes has become the assassin chosen by the guild to chase him and kill him. He is actively looking for him, but he hasn't found him yet.
2 special people for Hyde
1 - Eliana (CG) is his best friend. The grew together in the guild, and Hyde would give his life to protect her. She isn't the fighter type, she is a slender and sneaky girl who usually avoids fighting and prefers running. And she does that well. She earned her fortune stealing things from rich nobles, and she hates hurting people
2 - Atraxes (NE) was one of the guild's agents. He is a scary assassin which would do anything for some coin. He helped Hyde and Eliana escape in exchange for money and now accepted even more gold to kill them.
3 special memories
1 - There was one time in which Hyde nearly kissed Eliana, but then people came in the room and they never talked about it.
2 - Running away from the guild was the most dangerous thing he did in his life, but even if he is not a brave person, when the stakes are high he becomes it.
3 - He knows he would leave everything and everyone to chase and kill whoever would kill Eliana, even if it means dying doing it.
Hey, is it too late to apply right? Saw this post only today, I have a cleric ready for a Carrion Crown game I couldn't manage to get in. He is lvl 9, but would obviously level him down.
Jeremiah "Mad Prophet" Racek
Hey guys,
I'm looking to join any game, possibly starting from medium levels. I'm an enthusiastic player and would really like to start joining this wonderful world that is this forum and PbP.
I have a great experience in Pathfinder in general and like to find new strange build concepts that no one has (possibily) seen before.
Let me know!
I am definitely interested as well, as I do have some ideas to get strange sinergies with monster abilities. Reign of Winter and Kingmaker are also APs I've always wanted to play, so that would be perfect.
I do have an idea for a heavy poison (roguish) alchemist build, that would be perfect for a Spymaster of Royal Assassin role. Sadly core books have really low support for poisons and alchemy, and it would need to expand options. It would definitely need at least the Alchemy Manual pathfinder player companion and the poison milking rules from Ultimate Wilderness and probably something else I don't quite remember.
Would that be a problem? I can share a build idea if it can be viable.
As promised, here's my apply with Valmoria.
She's a White Haired Witch/Unchained Monk with a focus on maneuvers like grapple and such. Backstory and such are in the link page. I didn't take any gear yet, and I will probably tweak the build a bit if it gets picked.
Hey, I'm really interested on this, since I've never played gestalt but I really would like to try it out. I will think on a character, I'll post it once the idea is ready.
Rolls:
Roll 1:4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 2) = 8 = 7
Roll 2:4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 2) = 13 = 11
Roll 3:4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 3) = 11 = 10
Roll 4:4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 4) = 13 = 12
Roll 5:4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 1) = 15 = 14
Roll 6:4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 5) = 17 = 15
Roll 7:4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 6) = 16 = 14
I present you Jeremiah "Mad Prophet" Racek, hope you find it interesting. I changed god to the Lantern King from Sivanah, it matched domains better with the idea I had.
I have an idea for a tanky debuffer/healer bad touch Sivanah cleric, will tweak it and post the build today.
