To the best of my knowledge, spells described as a burst are a one-time flare-up of effect. anyone outside at the time of acting is unaffected.
Only ones described as an emanation have a continuous effect within the area of the spell.
It's like detect magic, if you walk into the area while it's up, you're suddenly subject to it.
So in the case of Prayer it would be a no, but Protection from Evil would be a yes.
HP (2-5): 4d8 ⇒ (4, 3, 8, 1) = 16 (slightly below average)
HP (2-5): 4d8 ⇒ (4, 5, 8, 2) = 19 (reroll)
So it looks like this is a rare opportunity, where the combination of Pathfinder archetype, and not having to lose the replacement feature really captures the flavor I'm going for.
With a spell dancer magus who's a devotee of Ellistree and a self-styled arcane sword dancer, she'll be able;e to wear armor as a magus, but gain insight bonuses to her AC when not wearing armor, and be gracefully flitting around the battlefield.
This is going to be fun to create.
Very late to the party but huge fan of The Realms.
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6) + 6 = 19lowest(2) = 18
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2) + 6 = 12lowest(1) = 11
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1) + 6 = 18lowest(1) = 17
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2) + 6 = 12lowest(1) = 11
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3) + 6 = 12lowest(1) = 11
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2) + 6 = 15lowest(2) = 13
Not bad at all, though nowhere near as impressive as some others. Going through the creation details now.
So is Propeta D'Oro the analogue for Spain or Italy. It feels like Old World Spain but some of the details (pope/ architecture) also feels Italian.

Then it would probably be the most sense to be connected to the duchy of Matrose, Segellelund, or Schiefbau. A Noble of a house in Propeta D'Oro, probably a second or thrid child, so not likely to inherit head of the household, but in line for something of some prestige, like house protector, currently studying abroad for both diplomatic and martial education.

Question. With the set up for the start of the adventure, would you prefer everyone be a native of Urliek, or would something like a young noble of Propeta D'Oro studying abroad in Urliek be viable?
Considering a Bard (Arcane duelist)/ Gunslinger gestalt (very arcane musketeer type)
As long as you have a familia tie to a Noble house in Urliek then its fine That works given the info provided: Quote: Propeta D'Oro: The Large Island kingdom of merchant princes, artists, philosophers, explorers, and more. The Churchs Pope and each of the seven saints reside here. Though not as powerful as Urliek, it is reknown for its architecture, art, literature, fashion and more. It relies heavily on trade and Many nobles of Urliek has connections to the nation. Any houses you'd recommend as morel likely to have ties with Propeta D'Oro? I could definitely see one of those that deals with firearms or warfare as viable options.
Starting wealth: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 4, 3) = 16 x 10 =160 + 900 = 1060gp

Definitely interested, maybe a druid.
Best of luck and swift recovery!
Damn, that sonds really unpleasant. Sorry. Happy to hear that it's healing well.
"I think the cops are coming, we should go!"
"Y'all got any weed?"
NEVERMIND ONE OF THE PARTY IS AN ACTUAL COP.
LMAO!
Definitely interested. Character would be an Agathion-blooded Aasimar Sorceress (Silver Dragon bloodline). Trait would be Riftwarden Orphan (both of her parents being Riftwardens that gave her to someone to keep her safe while setting off on a secret mission they never returned from)
Any idea on when you plan to start an actual recruitment?
I would definitely consider either a Magus, or Hunter for this, someone who draws their power from diligent arcane study, or nature itself rather than the gods.
Looks like no one has put forth anything nature-based yet, so I'll submit a druid. I'm intrigued at the idea of the person going for the High Priest Kingdom role being a proponent of the Green Faith instead of a god and seeing how a druidic kingdom would play out.
Going with a unique form of magus/gun magic is perfect actually, as it plays into the Inexplicably Expelled trait. Arcane prodigy who develops a unique gun-oriented style of battle magic, ruined by that bastard Mugland while on the verge of a breakthrough.
The interactions with dead/fluctuating magic due to zones or storms will be an interesting challenge, and the alchemical ordnance functioning as non-magical will definitely help with effectiveness when spells aren't a reliable option.
Character should be done in a day or two.
I hope you heal quickly and well.
Okay great! Will have something up tonight
I'd definitely be interested in rolling up a character.
Out of curiosity would you allow the Black Powder Magus?
Understandable. Always crazy after a vacation.
Definitely interested. I'm thinking Human Hunter (either standard or Forester), follower of the Green Faith, likely taking the Chesnardo Hopeful or Foxclaw scout trait.
Will get started on building the character.
Ah forever soups....makes me wonder how many people died of undiagnosed anaphylactic shock over the centuries.

Merry Christmas to those celebrating!
Philo Pharynx wrote: would you allow a synthesist summoner. Basically somebody who can turn into a sea monster. If it isn't allowed, you may want to take a look at the Krakencaller Druid
Okay, Good and Darkness it is.
I know in 3rd Ed Selune had Protection as one of her Domains, would you allow that? If not I'll go with Darkness along with Good for blessings. Otherwise, Good and Protection.
I was also considering a Lunar Mystery Oracle, but given that DarkOne7141981 suggested it first, I may instead go with a Selûnite Warpriest specifically dispatched by the church to get to the bottom of the sudden silence, and to bring The Lady of Silver's might to bear, should Shar have anything to do with it.

Yeah, I used to live in Richmond Hill about 13 yrs ago. And yeah, West Indian Chinese food is a unique thing specific to the Caribbean. We had it in Trinidad as well, an interesting blend of flavor profiles.
Sorry for your loss. You were in my neck of the woods.
Is it two traits and one campaign trait, or two traits (one of which has to be a campaign trait)?
Chiming in with interest. Considering a half-elf (possibly half-drow) Magus (spell dancer), a devotee of both Mystra and Eilistraee, and as such having a vested interest in aiding followers of Selune.
Will get to work building a character.
First one is definitely cool, and flavorful. Would be interesting to see how he'd mesh. Like Patrick said he's way older than the rest of the smart device-using young uns. Though he might have quite a bit in common with Miren.
The second one is interesting. Though I wonder what his motivation would be for joining the group, I don't see him taking the offer from a mysterious billionaire.

It's written by Clinton Boomer, the same person who cobbled together these modern horror rules for Pathfinder.
Ragadolf wrote: To me it just proves that they should be hiring actual gamers to write the fun movies. ;)
Case in point? I don't know if you like their podcasts or not, (I myself cannot STAND to watch OTHER people play D&D or video games for hours. I don't get the appeal)
BUT, the anime adaptation of Critical Role's first D&D game/season "Vox Machina" has been VERY enjoyable in my opinion. I am looking forward to Season 3 of the show.
Proof that they should let gamers write adventure movies. ;P
Heck, LAdyhawke, COnan the Barbarian, ALL the cheesy 80's fantasy movies, we adapted elements of ALL of them into our games!
:D
Yes!! If you watch the YouTube video of how the "^#$@@# $#!+ Up!!" battle from season 2 translated from live game to screen it's the kind of moment every game lives for, and it resonates because of it.
Big time spoiler warning
Ah yes the levels where 1 round of combat takes an hour and requires a calculator.
I'd be on board. This currently doesn't even show as one of my active games, since it fell off.
