Hey everyone. We'll have my character put together Sunday. Tomorrow I'm going to be at New York Comic Con
Will do, I'm way behind but a hail of bullets can happen and I'll read stuff later.
So good to start putting together char sheet or no?
So... a bard with an alchemist's spell list. Interesting but I think I'd pass. If the background/description/concept sounds good I'll roll up an alchemist character

I have something fully flushed out by tomorrow.
But for now character concept and backstory, Ciara (subject to change) was a brilliant biochem major, working her way towards finishing up her Master's. Not much of a social life but completely enamored of all things fantasy.
Through a message in one of her online fan chat groups, she received a tip of a hole in the wall bookstore that had a first edition copy of an obscure fantasy novel she had been looking for for years. Going there she did find it a little odd that other than the person at the register up front, there seem to be no employees anywhere in the store to help, and even more though the shelves were racked high with books there were no step ladders or ladders to get up the things on the top, which of course was exactly where she spotted the book she needed.
Not to be denied she decided to climb onto the rickety shelves to reach her desired prize, a mistake that turned out to be fatal.
Description wise, 5'2 (hence the climbing), brown hair, hazel eyes
Also, I'd be interested in seeing what the Potion Idol archetype looks like
So I'm thinking college student Chemistry/Biology double major, with a love of fantasy novels and a bit of a thing for monsters. Will likely go with Alchemist.
What's the setting world like in terms of tech level (High Fantasy/Steampunk/ Magipunk (think Eberron)/ Varies by region?
Cause of Death: 1d10 ⇒ 9 Crushed by a falling bookshelf while reacing on the top shelf for that weird fantasy novel trait - Lorebound soul - Start with a +4 bonus to all knowledges.
OOOhhhhh! Wizard/Alchemist/Magus/Investigator....what to choose?
1d12 ⇒ 10
Queen Cruncha Devourer of Worlds and Breakfast Cereals
- Domains: Consumption, destruction, artificial flavoring, primal hunger
- Symbols: A tyrannosaur skull filled with rainbow marshmallows
- Rituals: Devour a meal without chewing; roar at the sunrise while holding a spoon aloft
- Boons:
- Bite attacks deal double damage if preceded by a pun
- Can summon cereal minions (e.g., “Frosted Fiends,” “Oatmeal Ogres”)
- Once per day, unleash Crunchquake—a stomping tantrum that knocks everyone within a 50 ft radius prone full round action
Okay, that's gonna be weird as hell. Lemme think.
1d4 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Considering a Skinwalker (wereshark) Ranger (Either Guide, Skirmisher or Warden) hired to keep the explorers and colony safe.
Finally back home! Will get caught up and posting.

Hey! Funny you're in NY while I'm out of it. (Currently in Kansas, on a semi-vacation looking after my wife's dad so her brother can get a break and take his kids on vacation)
So I think I definitely have to toss my hat in the ring on this one.
Con: 10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (2, 3) = 15
Dex: 10 + 2d4 ⇒ 10 + (4, 3) = 17
Str: 10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (4) = 14
Cha: 10 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + (5) = 15
Wis: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (6) = 8
Int: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (3) = 11
.
I'm thinking Battle Dancer (Brawler Archetype), capoeira style islander who lives in the Champion's District, recently having won a low-level arena tournament
Any background requirements? I'm considering an at least semi-amnesiac android brawler.
Damn. Sorry to hear that man. Just hang in there and do your best. What you do is important.
The lore and intrigue of this (plus the desire to go past level 2 in this AP) is too strong for me to resist. Will get to work of retooling Sahba al-Xemestra, a Keleshite Half-Elf that wn a black bladed kopesh in a dues, and has since been feeling the pull, and having dreams of ancient Osirion, leading her to Wati.
1d4 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
1d4 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
1d4 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
1d4 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Was there a cutoff date mentioned?
Looks like with Huntmaster, Broodmaster, Packmaster and Pack Lord on the excluded list, the goal might be to avoid having 40 PC controlled characters per turn (an exaggeration, but you get the point)
Definitely like the Grey Paladin (I've got a soft spot for Ragathiel), and we'll definitely need a heavy hitter.
Mesmerist is an interesting class, and the Devilbane Gazes might be particularly thematic and useful in Cheliax.
Yeah, the most charismatic tanks are Paladins and Cavaliers, though Inquisitors can get up there with the right selections. There's always Urban Barbarian.
As far as race there's tiefling (thematic with some good resistances), Aasimar, Drow
Giantslayer's definitely an AP that I've had interest in but never tried out. I'd definitely be down
Well you definitely be out of place and looked at strangely, devils would likely get less side eye than a lizardfolk
Cheliax:
In Cheliax, a large kingdom in Avistan, Lizardfolk are often viewed with suspicion and hostility due to their reptilian nature and their tendency to live on the fringes of society.
So I'm discovering that Investigator has more moving parts than any other class in Pathfinder but it's kind of fascinating.
So this being in an urban setting I'm sure we'll need a trapfinder, which is usually no problem with an Investigator, but... in a setting with secret shadow stuff roaming the streets the Lamplighter is so cool and thematic. It loses trapfinding though.
Would you allow this as my second trait?
I think since at least two of you seem to be trending toward casters, I'll lean into the Investigator. I'm fine with either. We're all adults here. I've done spoilers and PM's so whatever the consensus is works for me.
I sent a message so we'll see.
I can go with other ideas as well. Possibly trying an Investigator for the first time, taking the Conspiracy Hunter trait.
They are, just have a lot going on at the moment, they'll probably pop by or give you a response in the next couple days
I'm thinking of leaning into the Child of Shadow campaign trait, as someone touched by the weird shadow curse of the city, playing an Oracle with the Shadowbound curse and the Shadow Mystery.
I understand completely. I'm here.
I'm here, reading through the player's guide and coming up with an idea.
I've taken exotic weapon proficiency a number of times
So verdict on Combat Stamina, do Fighters get it for free or have to take a feat for it?
GM Two-Hands wrote: @ Mark Thomas 66, I've had a brief read and I'm struggling to find a reference for the free combat stamina outside of the legacy archives of nethys page here. Can you point me in the direction of a better reference?
It might be a loose interpretation but it's listed as an option here: Combat Stamina
Starting Gold: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 1, 2) = 17 170gp
Since "players to use unchained variants of existing classes." does that mean Fighters get Combat stamina for free?
Oaky, let's start with stats.
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 1) = 1716
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 3) = 119
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 3) = 1512
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4, 1) = 1312
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 5) = 1613
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 6) = 1716
Total 78 not bad.
My first thoughts are either Ranger (Chernasardo Hopeful/ Ironfang survivor) or Fighter/Barbarian (Unbreakable Survivor/ World weary)
Also has a druid in mind for the Frontier Healer trait but looks like we're likely to have a number of healer submissions.
Looking forward to the official recruitment post.
I'd definitely be interested/ I really like the community in survival mode concept of Ironfang Invasion. I'd likely go with either a druid herbalist/healer type of character or a ranger scout type.
As far as veteran player, I've been playing PBP games here since 2008 and know the ruleset pretty well (I've written a few 3pp titles over the years). I'm basically online for a living so odd posting times aren't an issue (work in Social Media, overnight)
To the best of my knowledge, spells described as a burst are a one-time flare-up of effect. anyone outside at the time of acting is unaffected.
Only ones described as an emanation have a continuous effect within the area of the spell.
It's like detect magic, if you walk into the area while it's up, you're suddenly subject to it.
So in the case of Prayer it would be a no, but Protection from Evil would be a yes.
HP (2-5): 4d8 ⇒ (4, 3, 8, 1) = 16 (slightly below average)
HP (2-5): 4d8 ⇒ (4, 5, 8, 2) = 19 (reroll)
