So Fascinated has no effect on AC and gets broken if you're attacked unless it's a special version.

"A fascinated creature is entranced by a supernatural or spell effect. The creature stands or sits quietly, taking no actions other than to pay attention to the fascinating effect, for as long as the effect lasts. It takes a –4 penalty on skill checks made as reactions, such as Perception checks. Any potential threat, such as a hostile creature approaching, allows the fascinated creature a new saving throw against the fascinating effect. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a ranged weapon at the fascinated creature, automatically breaks the effect. A fascinated creature’s ally may shake it free of the spell as a standard action."

My Touch AC is 15 (17 in an urban environment) and Mage armor applies if the thing attacking me is Incorporeal (*in which case it's 19 or 21 if this counts as an urban environment)

On an unrelated note, Investigator level 2 is kind of lame. All the good stuff comes at other levels.

I think hard copies of the new Bloodlines & Black Magic book are set to ship this month. If we did want to convert to the new system, I see ways that Nace (now at level 2) could be recreated - more or less - with dual classing.

Sorry for the absence! Last week was incredibly hectic. This week looks downright boring by comparison, so I should be able to keep up now.

To be clear - Nace has some pretty distorted views about his bloodline. Based on the setting lore, Infernal blood is not necessarily evil, but his perception is rather tainted by the fact that the last ancestor manifesting the bloodline (that he is aware of) was an actual war criminal.

Yeah - I'm sure that carries a whole steamer trunk of emotional baggage ...

Everyone, I have been absent since about mid-September. There are a lot of different reasons- several work, personal, and family issues needed to be dealt with. Also, the recent revelations about Paizo and how they treat their workers left a very sour taste in my mouth. I was debating shuttering my games altogether. Today, I saw that the workers are forming a union, which I am very pleased to see. With that in mind, I am planning to take some time this weekend to crank my games back up. Thank you for your patience.

Do our two players with their third eyes open see anything in the rooms? I think Miyuku is in the kitchen, and Nace is in the chiller bedroom.

As you might know, I have been trying to restart my games. I was going through them and getting things setting up. I felt like I was missing something…

Somehow this game fell out of my head. Like, I’m actually a bit worried about how completely it fell out of my head.

Anyway. I do like this game. But I understand I haven’t updated in a long while. And I’m not sure what level of interest there still is. Let me know if you want me to update.

I enjoyed this game, and I actually had a few interesting thoughts about future adventures. A lot of horror novels can be adapted easily to this game.

If the original three are willing, perhaps we could recruit a couple more to come on? I seem to have found a good balance of posting now.

Ran into others also invited
Poked around town, scoped out house of Jonathan Thatcher - the mysterious host
Went to Santa’s Village - fought Dark Santa, some sort of shadow spider creature that fed off fear and children
Two weapons broke during fight
Met Silver John ( or to be precise - his grandson). Tipped them off to magical smith Old Heph.
Went to Old Heph’s forge and had weapons remade
Accompanied John to a haunting by a dead punk rock star, GG Alanson
Defeated GG, saw John off at bus stop.
Went to dinner with Jonathan Thatcher, agreed to work for him provisionally.
Given job to retrieve wedding ring of Sarah Thereaux, who disappeared with her husband Daniel back a hundred odd years ago.
Explored historical society and hall of records. Moved on to Bailey House museum.
Witnessed Mother Bailey’s suicide and Daniel’s proposal to Sarah.
Currently about to walk the trails to Adam’s pond.
