Sovereign Court

In the distant land of Tian Xia, the Pathfinder Society's Lantern Lodge sends a team of agents high into the mountains of the Wall of Heaven to an abandoned Iroran monastery in search of a powerful relic to assist them in ensure victory in the upcoming Ruby Phoenix Tournament. Though the monastery has long laid unused by the faithful of the Master of Masters, it is not completely devoid of danger, and the PCs soon discover that merely retrieving the ancient artifact is but the beginning of a much larger quest.

Which map is used for the encounter with the giant spider?

Quote:

Once the goblins start looking, roll 1d10 to determine how many goblins come close enough to the hiding goblin to attempt –1 Perception checks to notice the hiding goblin.

Does this mean I first roll how many goblins are close to finding the dare taker then for each goblin I roll 1d20-1 Perception to find the hiding goblin?

You are goblins of the Licktoad tribe, who live deep in Brinestump
Marsh, south of the hated man-town called Sandpoint. Once, other goblins tried to burn Sandpoint down, and they would
have been legends if they had succeeded. But they didn’t bring
enough fire, and got themselves killed as a result.

Yesterday, your tribe discovered that one of your own had
been using forbidden arts and was engaged in one of the
greatest of taboos—writing things down. In fact, rumor holds
that what he was writing was a history of your tribe! There’s no
swifter way to bring about bad luck than stealing words out of
your mind by writing them down, and so your tribe had no
choice. You branded the goblin’s face with letters to punish
him, which is why everyone calls him Scribbleface now, and
then you ran him out of town, took all of his stuff, and burned
down his hut.

That’s where things got interesting, because before you all
burned down his hut, Chief Gutwad found a weird box within
the building. Inside was a map and a lot of fireworks—fireworks
that immediately came to use in burning the hut down. Then,
this morning, Gutwad announced that tonight there would
be a feast in order to drive out any lingering bad luck from
Scribbleface’s poor decisions. But perhaps even more exciting,
all of you have been secretly invited to meet at Chief Gutwad’s
Moot House. Why would the chief want to speak to you? It can only mean that he’s got an important mission for you all... one that the other goblins of the tribe couldn’t pull off. This could be your chance to go down in Licktoad history!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So I made a half-elf Rogue(Scoundrel) with Otherworldy Magic(Ray of Frost) because he is supposed to be a snowborn who takes after his snowcaster parent. Is my Rogue trained in Spell Attack and which stat does he use for casting? Dex, Int or Cha? He's just going to be a dabbler so I'm thinking of taking Minor Magic, Trick Item and Magical trickster.

His stats:
STR 12
CON 12
WIS 10
DEX 18
INT 10
CHA 16

Trained in Arcana

For now I don't want to take Sorceror Dedication.
And how do I Heighten Ray of Frost?

Aside from devils and azata what other options does the Pact Wizard have for Outsiders with improved familiar options with which to form pacts with?

Sovereign Court

To anyone who has experience using spellcasters in both systems: how do the spell casting systems differ and does 5e have any spells in common with Pathfinder? Can you use the dnd Spellbook cards in Pathfinder?

Sovereign Court

I am thinking of playing a Fated Guide Spiritualist for this AP but I am not sure if I want to multi class into Spiritualist or just go straight Spiritualist. So far my character is someone who stayed in his village, a healer or maybe a local mage if we don't have enough casters, while his fighter wife went out on jobs outside the village. I was planning on making his wife his Fated guide.

Would it be better to start off as a spiritualist or should I multiclass?

Sovereign Court ** Venture-Agent, Philippines—Quezon City

Is there a list of all the Pathfinder chronicles mentioned so far? I know there are some in the Pathfinder Society Primer, I think, but I don't know if there are any others.

Sovereign Court ** Venture-Agent, Philippines—Quezon City

Due to the way I've been playing my lvl 3 Cleric(Cardinal) lately and the results of my latest game I've decided that my cleric will be joining the warpriests on my next level up.

My question is: do I only get the spells per day for warpriest or do I get both my cleric spells and my warpriest spells for a total of 6 orisons, 2 level 1 spells + 1 lvl 1 domain spell? Do I also get both domain powers and blessings at the same time?

How will the multiclass affect Channel energy since they both have it but warpriest require using fervor to activate it.

If I use Unchained Rogue does my Kitsune FCB of 1/6 rogue talent convert to 1/6 unchained rogue talent?

Sovereign Court ** Venture-Agent, Philippines—Quezon City

My unchained rogue recently got access to dragon hide so I was wondering: are there any light armors I can make using dragon hide? My rogue is lvl 5 and currently has Dex 18.

If I can use dragon hide to make light armor which type should I get? If I can't use dragon hide for light armors am I better of just getting a mithral chain shirt? Is it better to have higher armor bonus or Dex bonus?

Sovereign Court ** Venture-Agent, Philippines—Quezon City

How does the Vanity - Height of Fashion(You gain a a+3 bonus on Diplomacy checks against nobles, politicians, and artistocrats of your race.) work for those that can shape change? If taken by a Kitsune that is in human guise does HoF give bonuses against humans or against kitsune?

Sovereign Court ** Venture-Agent, Philippines—Quezon City

Is it possible to buy a Prestige Award(from the PFS Field Guide) from a retired faction that has no equivalent?

For example: Can my Tian Xia Kitsune buy the Lantern Lodge Honorific Prestige Award even if my PC is Sovereign Court?

Sovereign Court ** Venture-Agent, Philippines—Quezon City

How useful are vanities in general and should/would they be included in 2E?

The Additional Resources page does not mention vanities so I have never tried purchasing any using prestige points for my PFS characters but some of them look nice especially the ones for memberships to specific groups.

Flavor wise I think spending Prestige to gain access to training in other classes or entry to Prestige classes makes sense. Like calling in a favor.

Sovereign Court

If Paizo ever makes a PRD for 2E I hope it is PFS specific instead of having a separate Additional Resources page for it if not everything in 2E is applicable for PFS. Or at least a line in the PRD page to identify if the page is PFS legal.

I find the current Additional Resources page to be hard to read through. You can't use it without having to flip back and forth between the page and the PDFs or books and you can't use it with the current PRD as the PRD does not seem to include the Companion books like Blood of the Beasts.

Sovereign Court

I'm looking for spell decks feature decks to use with my characters. Can anyone recommend any good ones? RIght now I am playing unchained rogue and I also have a cleric but I am thinking of making an arcane caster.

Sovereign Court ** Venture-Agent, Philippines—Quezon City

Are Unchained Rogues limited to only taking Rogue talents from the unchained rogue talent list?

I took the Kitsune Trickster archetype or my Unchained Rogue which suggests the following complimentary talents:

Major magic, Minor magic, False Friend Obfuscate Story, Steal the Story, Charmer, Coax Information, Honeyed Words,Convincing Lie

The only ones that appear on the Unchained Rogue Talent list are
Major magic, Minor magic and Coax information

They don't show up on the Unmodified Rogue Talent list either

Does this mean I can't take the others? Or does this mean my Rogue is illegal?

Sovereign Court

What is the difference between the 2 books? Which one should I get?

Sovereign Court

One of the goals in the faction card says to recruit a named NPC without letting anyone except maybe the recruit know that the PC is a member of the Court.

My question is: Would the PCs from other factions recognize members of the Court and are they exempted from the "not letting anyone know" restriction.

Sovereign Court

Going to my first Pathfinder society organized play tomorrow and have decided to make my own character. I have decided on playing a female kitsune trickster/spy using unchained rogue. Any suggestions on how to assign stats?

Would Int be better than Cha for this build? Already decided to take superior shapeshifter to replace kitsune magic.

Sovereign Court

I am trying to build a female Kitsune Unchained Rogue(Spy Archetype) and need some help in deciding how to distribute my stats. I want my Kitsune's human form to be a socialite, someone who is comfortable speaking to powerful people and know how to charm them but still be able to do fight.

Which stat should be highest, second highest and lowest?

Designation Advanced Jedi Training Droid AJTD 1

Trang Robotics donated this droid to the Jedi Counsel on Coruscant. Mace Wendu believed for proper training one had to go all out against an opponent, but retain control, and the temptation for the young jedi would be going all out to kill in training, might lead to the dark side.

It was the Jedi Counsel who programmed the basics of light saber combat into the prototype. The droid was tested and tasked with training a single young unidentified padewan learner, under the watchful eye of master Yoda.
"Welcome to the palace of the Jedi! Brave you must be, a great challenge have you."-Yoda holorecording...

Although the jedi counsel never purchased dueling elites for training purposes, some jedi from noble famlies still could afford one of the later models. The prototype AJTD1 was different in appearance and was not easily identified as Traang technology.

In the Jedi order only Grand Master Yoda and the unidentified young recruit who completed six tasks that Yoda had assigned to him, did anything with AJTD1. It was during this time with Yoda and the youth that AJTD1 became sentient, and it was the young recruit who helped him adjust both his hardware and software. Master Yoda was skeptical of a droid teaching Jedi, but eventually he trusted in the single droid. Master Yoda saw nobles come in to train some of them had dueling droids, but without jump servos, magnetic feet and other extensive upgrades the droids were too limited.

Order 66 saw the droid escaping the carnage of the temple he was picked up by Bail Organa the noble from Alderaan on the ship Sundered Heart, along with Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The droid was damaged during the escape. This resulted in the placement of Luke with his aunt, uncle and Obi-Wan on Tatooine, Yoda going to the backwater planet Dagobah and Leia being adopted into Alderaan nobility and the Organa family.

The noble Bail Orega had a very limited idea what the droids capabilities were beyond basic home schooling and protocol functions, though out of friendship and loyalty to master Yoda, the noble family took on AJTD1 "AJ" as a protocol droid, helping to upgrade him adding a 3PO language processor, an internal comlink, and a remote starship starter. At the time R2D2 and C3PO came into the families service as well.

AJ spent many years with Princes Leia helping her in her training as a noble, fencing and martial arts but also providing unobtrusive security to the noble household.

In the interim time AJDT1 escaped the destruction of Alderaan, by being back on Coursecant with Leia Organa, he was left planet side in order to later try and find Obi-Wan on Tatooine. Although Leia did not yet have the plans to the death star at the time she gave the order to find Obi-Wan to AJ she still wanted to get word to him. "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, your my only hope." Leia holorecording

The force was not with AJTD1 "AJ" and when Leia was captured in space he was hit with an ion cannon, which overloaded his circuit he was forfeit as property and was captured while trying to get to a Starship. AJ was subjected to restraining bolt and a memory wipe and ended up deactivated and stored long term. So he never got to deliver his message to Obi-Wan....

*******deactivated

A salvager got ahold of the former junk and began attempting to catalog the bulk of the junk, looking for anything of value, he found the droid and noted the noble attire, but also the age of the droid, upon reactivation the droid went through and slowly began to reboot his system. "AJ" began immediately to claim he was the property of Princes Leia Organa, and had business to attend to. (try and seek Obi-Wan to relay the message from Leia). Though he would never discuss his business....

Eventually the trader got in touch with Jedi Master Wolf Sazen at the Jedi temple on Ossus. Curious the Jedi purchased the droid and had him shipped to Ossus.

During the voyage AJ spent time making repairs of all damage he had and better integration of back up and reboot systems, catching up on technological advances and integrating helpful minor functions and gear.

Initially AJTD1 was reluctant to trust the Jedi master and was uncertain as to the current time. The Jedi master showed the droid lightsaber forms 1 and 2. AJTD1 then showed the holographic recording of Leia requesting the assistance of Obi-Wan. The Jedi master initially overlooked the droid as being out dated and useless. This was not the case when the Jedi took to training, unexpectedly the droid began correcting applications of the forms, they requested the droid show. AJDT1 produced one lightsaber and did the forms from beginning to end, then as the master thought the droid was finished he did dual light saber....

Once the master was able to see the training droid in action he became convinced it would be possible to with minimal risk establish a hidden training facility for young potential Jedi.
