I was looking at creating an Aid build using a ranged weapon to Aid on attack rolls. When I reading through the Aid action, I didn't see anything restricting you from using a ranged attack to Aid.

However, someone quickly pointed out to me that there's a fighter feat called Assisting Shot that supposedly allows you to Aid at range "instead of being within reach of the target." However, I can't find anything in the Aid action that has any kind of restriction on reach.

Does Assisting Shot currently do anything? Or does Aid have the restriction because Assisting Shot exists?

Aid:

Trigger An ally is about to use an action that requires a skill check or attack roll.

Requirements The ally is willing to accept your aid, and you have prepared to help (see below).
--------------------------------
You try to help your ally with a task. To use this reaction, you must first prepare to help, usually by using an action during your turn. You must explain to the GM exactly how you’re trying to help, and they determine whether you can Aid your ally.

When you use your Aid reaction, attempt a skill check or attack roll of a type decided by the GM. The typical DC is 20, but the GM might adjust this DC for particularly hard or easy tasks. The GM can add any relevant traits to your preparatory action or to your Aid reaction depending on the situation, or even allow you to Aid checks other than skill checks and attack rolls.

Critical Success You grant your ally a +2 circumstance bonus to,the triggering check. If you’re a master with the check you, attempted, the bonus is +3, and if you’re legendary, it’s +4.
Success You grant your ally a +1 circumstance bonus to the triggering check.
Critical Failure Your ally takes a –1 circumstance penalty to the triggering check.

Assisting Shot:

With a quick shot, you interfere with a foe in combat. You can use the Aid action with a ranged weapon you wield. Instead of being within reach of the target, you must be within maximum range of the target. An Assisting Shot uses ammunition and incurs penalties just like any other attack.

Was just wondering if Gestalt rules could work in this edition. Just brainstorming the following rules:

HP: You take the higher of the two classes.
Stats: You get stat bumps from both classes.
All Proficiencies (Including Saves and Perception): You take the higher of the two classes.
Skills: You get all automatic skills for each class, and gain a number of trained skills equal to the higher number of the two classes (For example, a wizard/rogue would get Arcana and Stealth automatically, and then 7+int skills because the rogue gets 7+int and wizard gets 2+int)
Everything Else: You get all other abilities of both classes (Including skill feats, skill increases, etc.)

1. Can you increase the damage from Titan Mauler with an offhand when you have a large weapon in one hand and the other non-large weapon in the other, because you're "wielding" one already?

2. Can you apply it with Raging Hurler with a thrown weapon in offhand, even when it's not Large, because you're "wielding" one already?

Titan Mauler wrote:
You can use a weapon built for a Large creature if you are Small or Medium (both normally and when raging). If you’re not Small or Medium, you can use a weapon built for a creature one size larger than you. You gain access to one weapon one size larger than you, of any weapon type otherwise available at character creation. It has the normal Price and Bulk for a weapon of its size (page 295). When wielding such a weapon in combat, increase your additional damage from Rage from 2 to 6, but you have the clumsy 1 condition (page 618) because of the weapon’s unwieldy size. You can’t remove this clumsy condition or ignore its penalties by any means while wielding the weapon.

Hi,

I ordered a Starfinder GM Screen which was supposed to ship with my Starfinder subscription. I thought that the GM Screen got delayed because it wasn't in my box with the Starfinder Core Rulebook... but now it doesn't say it's shipping at all. Is there anything that can be done about this? Thanks!

(Side note: I have 2 t-shirts that should be coming with my subscription now too)

Welcome to MomoCon 2017!

Warhorn and Sign-up Link: Warhorn Link

We will be in exhibition hall A-1 in the back corner. Link to the map of MomoCon.

MomoCon 2017 will be May 25th to May 28th and takes place at the Georgia World Congress Center.

We will be running the #6-00: Legacy of the Stonelords (Levels 1-11), one of the season 6 interactive specials, Saturday during the afternoon slot. Most of the schedule is our regular Standard tables (3-4 tables per slot), and, as many of you know who have attended MomoCon, there is an extremely heavy walk-in traffic, so for those I have put tables of PFS Quests (2 tables per slot). This is important so that we can have a separation between those willing to play a scenario for 4-5 hours, and those that only want to be there 0.5-1.5 hours. The special is scheduled to have 5 Standard tables. There will be no CORE as this convention unless demand arises (for example, the special potentially) as last year not a single one of those tables made.

Convenient way to view the Pathfinder Society schedule: Condensed list of the schedule.

MORE INFORMATION ON PFS QUEST TABLES: You can sign up as a GM for these tables, but not as a player. These tables will count towards your GM total number of tables ran whether you actually end up GMing something or not. (Although, the way MomoCon traffic is, I would count on GMing at least some during your time slot, if not all). Our regular players are of course welcome to play at these tables, but again, there will be no way to sign up for them ahead of time and you need to be flexible with the people you will be playing with.

More GM Info for PFS Quests:
If you sign up as a GM for those slots, be aware that you will be mostly dealing with newer players and need to be ready to explain the game, rules, and be catering to them. You may have people walk up in the middle of combat. I encourage all GMs for these quests to be as flexible as possible. Judge whether they need PFS numbers or not. Some people are there to play and never be seen again after about an hour of play. If someone only stays for one quest and is never to be seen again, it might not be a good application to give them a PFS number or chronicle...but if they stay for like 2 or more, it might be a good time to introduce those things to them and the campaign. If someone is staying for a lot of quests, perhaps they can graduate to one of the longer slots. Please do not sign up for this slot if you do not like having players new to the system or do not feel like being flexible in your GMing style.

Convention Information: With 28,300 unique and over 71,000 turnstile attendance in 2016, MomoCon is one of the fastest growing all ages conventions in the country. Fans of Japanese Anime, American Animation, Comics, Video Games, and Tabletop Games come together to celebrate their passion by costuming / cosplay, browsing the huge exhibitors hall, meeting celebrity voice talent, designers, and writers behind their favorite shows, games, and comics and much much more over this 4 day event. GM Information:

GM tiers:
Tier 1 (3 slots or more) - Free badge, GM Boon
Tier 2 (1 or 2 slots) - GM boon

I can provide chronicle sheets for GMs, but the assumption this year is that I won't be providing them unless you ask me. Don't be afraid to ask, though, as I have zero problems providing them. I mostly want to avoid using 5x the paper I need to. I will still have spare Silverhex/Phantom Phenomena/Honor's Echo/Legacy of the Stonelords chronicles regardless.

Tier 1 GMs (but not Tier 2 GMs) will also be required to fill out a volunteer form, but are not required to do any of the other volunteer-type of information (such as you don't have to attend a MomoCon volunteer meeting). Please see the spoiler below with the link and how to fill this out.

Tier 1 GMs:
  • Link to Sign-Up Form
  • Fill out all required information.
  • Fill out Departments as "Pathfinder Society."
  • Don't worry about "Schedule."
  • In the Volunteer History box, put the following: "I am a Pathfinder Society Game Master who is volunteering to GM at least 3 slots at MomoCon 2016."
  • For "What year did you first start volunteering for MomoCon?" put the first year you started GMing for MomoCon.
  • Submit your application
  • That's it! Don't worry about all the other stuff on the Volunteer website, and let me know if you have any questions. This is mostly so they can know who they are giving a badge to and so they can track their volunteers. (Also, don't worry about the Shiftboard stuff. We are doing our scheduling on Warhorn instead.) Also keep in mind that any e-mails you get from Shiftboard may pertain to other games (other organized play or non-organized play). Please ignore those e-mails. I will let you know if it is pertinent to you.

I have a question about the Fighting Off Corruption (Ghoul) Convention boon in regards to CORE campaign.

Fighting Off Corruption (Ghoul) (Abridged):
Completion Benefit: When you take negative energy damage, you reduce the damage taken by 1 point per damage die. You gain a +2 sacred bonus on saving throws to resist the extraordinary and supernatural abilities of undead creatures (+4 against ghoul paralysis). You can cross this completed boon off your Chronicle sheet to change any bloodrager or sorcerer bloodlines you possess to the ghoul bloodline (Pathfinder RPG Monster Codex 80) or undead bloodline.

The bolded part in the spoiler is my question. Can it be used in CORE campaign?

This is important so that I know whether I have hit your character or not when I do attacks. You can even change it up as your AC changes (like mage armor, etc.) Here's an example of one of my stat lines for a character (but there are many different styles that are acceptable):

Also make sure your character sheet is up to date by the start time.

If you have a companion, feel free to make an alternate non-PFS alias for them with their own stat line by going to My Account -> Create New Alias. This is not required but it can be rather fun!

Please use your PFS alias for all posts related to this game. Makes it a lot easier to track people. Other aliases are fine until character is decided.

This is a 10-11 subtier game of #7-00: Sky Key Solution that will starts August 27, 2016.

Please read the rules below. If you can't abide by them, don't sign up.

  • I expect people to be able to post at least 1/day on weekdays. This is a special and will be at an accelerated speed. PLEASE try to adhere to the 1 post/day. Multiples/day are even better. :)
  • Weekends are more loose in that regard.
  • I expect each player to have their character fully visible to me in some way (through linked character sheet or on their alias profile).
  • I may also ask for chronicles. It's not required, but you need to be prepared to show them if I ask. It's probably easier to have them ready beforehand.
  • If you are new to PbP, please read this: PbP Info.
  • Being new to PbP is fine, but you must have at least a level 9 Pathfinder Society character, which means your Pathfinder Society character cannot have less than 24 XP. I will not be accepting any characters less than level 9 at all unless we have trouble filling the table. Obviously, characters level 12 and above can't be accepted as the scenario does not account for characters that high.

There are three players already signed up for this game

  • tchrman35 - Fighter 11
  • Keith - Rogue/Warpriest 10
  • Amber - Rogue 10

That means there is room for three more. If interested, please sign up below!

The mismatched bard leads you during your long journey to Kaer Maga. The journey takes weeks, first by sea and then by land.

Upon arrival in the city, Gray takes you to the Bottoms district, land of the free man in the city, and leads you to the Godsmouth Cathedral, the center for Pharasma worship in Kaer Maga.

This is where you need to be. Find a person named... He takes out a note with a little etched name on it ...Valanthe Nerissia. He hands the note to the party, which a ripped piece of paper with her name on it. She is a member of this church here. Just tell her you are Pathfinders and she should instruct you on what to do. There should be a small reward involved, but more importantly access to their underground and whatever magic treasures lie in wait there, if there are any.

He salutes the party Good luck, and Desna speed. I have other business to attend to. And with that, he heads off.

Feel free to dot here or do character introductions. :)

Hi,

I have a bunch of Core campaign characters that, at some point along the way, have been switched to Standard campaign somehow. Is there any way I could get this switched back in the reporting system? They have not played in a single Standard game, but it may have been reported that way. The applicable characters are -50, -52, and -53 (I made all 50+ characters be Core so it's easy to distinguish).

There are many GMs that have shown concern that having my characters not being Core for reporting purposes might be switching other characters to Standard, to the point of refusing to report for that character number to prevent propagation (an issue I plan to fix myself if the characters' campaign status gets fixed).

Thanks!

[Grand Lodge]

You each receive word that you are to head to Drandle Dreng's office in the Grand Lodge of Absalom immediately. Of course, it's about 5 AM when you receive this missive.

When you arrive, you see Drandle Dreng is currently taking a nap, but you also see that other Pathfinders are trickling into the office about the same time as you are. The chatter amongst yourselves doesn't wake Drandle Dreng.

Once you have decided on characters, feel free to introduce yourselves (or dot in)! I will post the box text once everyone has "trickled in."

Feel free to "dot" in here with the character you wish to play (basically, making a post that marks this thread in your campaigns) (Wouldn't recommend posting in here until your character is decided, because you'll want to use that PFS alias).

As well, you can also post character introductions and roleplay if you wish before I post the introduction box text.

Quick Guide to Formatting:
  • Use normal text to describe actions or descriptions in-games.
  • Use "b" (Bold) text for character dialog (your character speaking).
  • Use "i" (Italic) text for character internal dialog (your character's thoughts).
  • Use both "b" and "i" for dialog involving Message or Telepathic Bond.
  • Use the "ooc" tag for Out Of Character talk.
  • Use "dice" when rolling dice. Example syntax: (Replace <> with brackets) <dice=Attack Roll on Yellow (Bless, Inspire Courage)>1d20+5+1+1</dice>

Formatting Example (Doesn't have to be this fancy and organized, but still a good example):
Waaaah! Didn't see that coming! Is this <redacted>'s doing?

<redacted>? Gonna take a stab at a Knowledge check. It's the only knowledge I have so might as well try it.
Knowledge (Planes) to Identify: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Move Action
Theodore pulls out his wand of Bless.

Standard Action
He waves around his wand of Bless, activating it. Including our party and <redacted> in this.

BLESS IS UP!

FYI, Theodore has his buckler and wand out. He currently does not threaten for a flank.

This is the place to discuss levels, character options, or anything else related to metagame or real-life issues (a common use is telling the other players when you won't be "as available").

If you look at the top of this thread, you'll see some tabs. The "Gameplay" tab (when I open it) is where the actual gameplay will happen.

Since many of you are new to PbP, I would suggest reading This Post. It has lots of information about how to format and proper PbP etiquette.

I will try to judge the pacing here by the players. From what I see, it could be 1/day post or more... probably not less. Minimum of 1/day posting is typical common etiquette, or at the very least checking the thread once/day. Of course, we can be more relaxed about that if people are out or on weekends. Let me know (in this discussion thread) if you think my pacing is off. I won't be offended (especially since this is my first PbP game I've GMed) :)

You will (most likely) being using the actual PFS character alias to post. It's a good idea to have a "stat line." You can place this is many of the fields on your character profile (class, gender, etc.) I don't care where, as long as it appears underneath your character name when your character posts. This is important so that I know whether I have hit your character or not when I do attacks. You can even change it up as your AC changes (like mage armor, etc.) Here's an example of one of my stat lines for a character:

Half-Orc Spiritualist (Onmyoji) 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 12 | T 10 | FF 12 | CMD 10 | Fort +6 | Ref +2 | Will +9 | Init +2 | Perception +5 | Sense Motive +5 | Level 1 Spells: 3/3

It's also a good idea to have a copy of your character's stats etc. either in the profile of the character or a link to the sheet in the character's profile. Scanned works for me if you don't have it digitally and don't want to type it up. :)

If you have a companion, feel free to make an alternate alias for them with all their stats too! :)

The last thing to talk about is initiative. Initiative in PbP is... relative. Basically, I will be rolling all initiative at once when combat breaks out and ordering it myself, and then will bold the names that are allowed to post their actions in combat. You don't necessarily have to post in order if your name is bolded. Descriptive actions and flourishing are heavily encouraged, but if you don't have the time to make that type of post, that's OK as well.

Other than that, have fun! The best thing about PbP is the fact that you have time to think about your actions, have in-character dialog, and have character introductions that people can remember. (And the fact that you can always look back at the mission briefing should you forget it)

For people who are stumbling upon this thread...sorry, but players are already determined for this game.

Welcome to MomoCon 2016!

Warhorn and Sign-up Link: Warhorn and sign-up link

MomoCon 2016 will be May 26th to May 29th and takes place at the Georgia World Congress Center. For those familiar with this convention last year, we had started with 7 tables. We ended up cutting down to 5 and ended up running 4 or 5 most slots. Right now, I am anticipating a total of 6 tables this year, although more on the break-out further in the post. This year, we have been told that we will be in a location that is much further away from the video gaming advertisers so it will be a lot more quiet than before. I have come up with a schedule where hopefully everyone has a chance to play for at least half the con.

We will be running the #6-97: Siege of Serpents (Levels 1-11), one of the season 6 interactive specials Saturday during the afternoon slot. Half of the schedule is our regular Standard tables (3 tables per slot), there is some CORE (1 table per slot), and, as many of you know who attended last year, there is an extremely heavy walk-in traffic, so for those I have put tables of PFS Quests (2 tables per slot). This is important so that we can have a separation between those willing to play a scenario for 4-5 hours, and those that only want to be there 0.5-1.5 hours. The special is scheduled to have 5 Standardtables and 1 Core table.

MORE INFORMATION ON PFS QUEST TABLES: I am trying something new this year for the PFS Quest tables. You can sign up as a GM for these tables, but not as a player. These tables will count towards your GM total number of tables ran whether you actually end up GMing something or not for the purposes of getting a badge. (Although, the way MomoCon traffic is, I would count on GMing at least some during your time slot). Our regular players are of course welcome to play at these tables, but again, there will be no way to sign up for them ahead of time and you need to be flexible with the people you will be playing with.

I can provide chronicle sheets for GMs, but the assumption this year is that I won't be providing them unless you ask me. Tier 1 GMs:
Link to Sign-Up Form - Go to "SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER!"
    Fill out all required information.
    Fill out Departments as "Role-Playing."
In the Volunteer History box, put the following: "I am a Pathfinder Society Game Master who is volunteering to GM at least 3 slots at MomoCon 2016."
For "What year did you first start volunteering for MomoCon?" put the first year you started GMing for MomoCon.
    Submit your application
That's it! Don't worry about all the other stuff on the Volunteer website, and let me know if you have any questions. This is mostly so they can know who they are giving a badge to and so they can track their volunteers. (Also, don't worry about the Shiftboard stuff. We are doing our scheduling on Warhorn instead)

So, usually I see Countersong used for things like Harpy song or Allip's babble.

However, it appears to me that it should work on language-dependent spells that aren't instantaneous (IE have a duration):

Paizo PRD wrote:
Countersong (Su): At 1st level, a bard learns to counter magic effects that depend on sound (but not spells that have verbal components.) Each round of the countersong he makes a Perform (keyboard, percussion, wind, string, or sing) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet of the bard (including the bard himself) that is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use the bard's Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform check result proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a non-instantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use the bard's Perform skill check result for the save. Countersong does not work on effects that don't allow saves. Countersong relies on audible components.

So, would Countersong be able to allow additional saves on spells like Suggestion and Geas?

I was curious what peoples' solutions to having swarms at higher levels in CORE campaign are? Just have a caster who can deal with it?

Is there anything martial characters can do besides 1d6 damage per round via acid flasks/alchemist fires?

Spellcasting

A relic hunter casts divine spells drawn from the inquisitor spell list, but her chosen relic schools (see Relics below) limit her to schools she knows, similar in function to an occultist's implements. Any spell or orison gained by the relic hunter has a relic component (see Relics below), and is not considered to be on the relic hunter's spell list until she selects its school though the relics alternate class feature. Once she chooses a school, all spells and orisons of that school are considered to be on the relic hunter's class spell list, allowing her to use spell trigger and spell completion magic items of those spells. A relic hunter's spells per day, daily spell allotment, Difficulty Class, and minimum Wisdom score requirements remain unchanged from the inquisitor's normal spellcasting class feature.

This ability alters the inquisitor's spellcasting.

This phrase is silent about the spells known for an inquisitor. Does it work like an inquisitor (where they get a certain amount of spells known based on the inquisitor spells known chart) or an occultist (where when you get a new relic/implement, you learn a spell of every level you know of that school)?

Common sense would suggest it works like an inquisitor but it is not explicitly mentioned.

Can potions of Occult Adventures classes-only spells be made?

So, a lot of the kineticist blasts are of the physical type. So, does this affect incorporeals? There is this line:

Occult Adventures wrote:
All damage from a kinetic blast is treated as magic for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction.

But that seems to only apply to damage reduction. So:

1. Would an aetherkineticist's telekinetic blast hurt an incorporeal with a non-magical object for half damage? If not, would it deal half damage if a magic object were thrown?

2. Does an aquakineticist's water blast (bludgeoning) deal half damage to incorporeals or no damage?

Trying to figure out if things are straight for my order of Occult Adventures on my subscription. I had a problem with my subscription before: Here is the thread for that.

I have looked for my sidecart of the My Account page (as the FAQ suggests) and I haven't found a window for it at all. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks!

Duelist Precise Strike wrote:

Precise Strike (Ex): A duelist gains the ability to strike precisely with a light or one-handed piercing weapon, adding her duelist level to her damage roll.

When making a precise strike, a duelist cannot attack with a weapon in her other hand or use a shield. A duelist's precise strike only works against living creatures with discernible anatomies. Any creature that is immune to critical hits is also immune to a precise strike, and any item or ability that protects a creature from critical hits also protects a creature from a precise strike.

Swashbuckler Precise Strike wrote:
Precise Strike (Ex): At 3rd level, while she has at least 1 panache point, a swashbuckler gains the ability to strike precisely with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon (though not natural weapon attacks), adding her swashbuckler level to the damage dealt. To use this deed, a swashbuckler cannot attack with a weapon in her other hand or use a shield other than a buckler. She can even use this ability with thrown light or one-handed piercing melee weapons, so long as the target is within 30 feet of her. Any creature that is immune to sneak attacks is immune to the additional damage granted by precise strike, and any item or ability that protects a creature from critical hits also protects a creature from the additional damage of a precise strike. This additional damage is precision damage, and isn't multiplied on a critical hit.

So, the verbiage here is very different between the two classes. A few questions:

1. Does this mean the duelist can't use precise strike on undead? (Duelist: "A duelist's precise strike only works against living creatures with discernible anatomies") Is this just a holdover from 3.5?

2. Is the duelist's precise strike damage multiplied on a critical hit? (Swashbuckler: "This additional damage is precision damage, and isn't multiplied on a critical hit.")

3. Can a duelist use precise strike with throwing weapons? (Swashbuckler: "She can even use this ability with thrown light or one-handed piercing melee weapons, so long as the target is within 30 feet of her.")

4. Does a duelist's precise strike work on a creature immune to sneak attack but not critical hits? (Duelist: "Any creature that is immune to critical hits is also immune to a precise strike, and any item or ability that protects a creature from critical hits also protects a creature from a precise strike.") (I can't think of any creatures who fall into this category, though)

I have a feeling a lot of the duelist verbiage is old and carried over from the 3.5 edition.

(Side note: I will be playing a Duelist in PFS)

I started my RPG subscription not too long ago and my first book should be Unchained. I don't see it in my sidecart and I don't have any e-mail about it. Just making sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

Thanks.

Two little questions:

1. Does the feat Aberrant Tumor eventually qualify you for Improved Familiar as a sorcerer or bloodrager?

2. If so, is the Improved Familiar still a Tumor Familiar?

I had a person at a PFS table try to grapple with no hands free. This is what I found in the grapple rules that pertained to it:

Grapple Rules wrote:
Humanoid creatures without two free hands attempting to grapple a foe take a –4 penalty on the combat maneuver roll.

It was argued that it says nothing about needing any hands free, only that the character took -4 for not having two hands free.

Does this seem legit? I don't think it does, but I can't find any text to say otherwise. Any help is appreciated!

Having a local dispute about some rules concerning aid another and was wondering what people's take was on it.

1. Does the person using aid another for attack or defense get a flank bonus or cover penalty to the attack roll to hit AC 10?

2. Is the person aiding an attack affected by concealment (such as from obscuring mist)?

So, at level 9, urban druids gets immunity to charms and compulsions.

Paizo PRD wrote:
Mental Strength (Ex): At 9th level, an urban druid gains immunity to charm and compulsion effects.

Does that mean that they can no longer be affected by beneficial compulsion spells like heroism?

Thanks.

So, I read the "Taking one for the team" section of the guide. It seems the intent of this section is for party balance or expediency, but it also appears that you can use it to introduce someone to the organized play. For example, I have 2 class decks now, so I could make one of them a pregen deck for a game that would allow someone to join in and possibly want to get their own class deck afterwards, and they would be able to use the pregen rewards they get and apply it to a new character when they play an adventure that has an adventure deck number equal or greater than the scenario they played.

Is this against the intent of the rule or is this expected to happen? Or do I have how this works completely wrong to begin with?

So, I had a couple questions about specific things that don't really seem to be completely covered by Beast Shape. To be very clear why, I have a Dark Tapestry oracle who has the Many Forms revelation, and just got the ability to become small and medium magical beasts. So, here it goes.

1. I want to turn into a Galvo. Do I get the electricity damage on their natural attacks or not?
2. I want to turn into a Jackalwere. Can this form cast spells? Seems if it can wield weapons, it can cast spells.

Voonith is a monster that has 10 ft. reach on its bite attack and not its claws. It also has pounce. When charging, it must go to the closest space it can attack from, which means it's always 10 ft. away. Even worse, this brings up metagamey stuff where if it charges diagonally it can pounce, but it can't when doing it laterally.

I'm assuming this is probably not as intended?
