Not a good moment. Nasty, nasty surprise we could do nothing about. The problem is that there were many saves and in order to live he had to make most of them. It was a foregone deal he would die.

Mine looks good too. I do have a level 8 wizard I could do bonekeep 3 with. He's even got a number of non-core spells he's picked up including spiked pit, and a staff of fire (which, as we learned, may or may not be a good thing). Unlike Deluge he is not a wimp and can dish out damage.

So Deluge will pay 2560 for removing the negative levels and that leaves 21 PP he has to pay (raise dead for 16 and body recovery for 5)

The cost is

Raise dead: 16 PP or 5,450 gp
Have your body recovered: 5 PP
remove a permanent negative level 4 PP or 1,280 gp
remove a permanent negative level 4 PP or 1,280 gp

Deluge will pay 1,280 gp to dispel a permanent negative level. If the mission pays more than 1000 gp he will also pay for the second negative level in cash too, leaving either 15 or 21 PP as the PP cost.

You can attack while grappled, particularly with UC. the challenge for you with being grappled is two fold. First, the next step is pinning. If it has the ability to pin and succeeds then you are well and truly screwed. Second is that some monsters have special abilities that activate when you are grappled.

If you want to take a guess on energy damage, Deluge has a wand of resist energy you could use. He also has 12 goodberries to top you off when using a wand of CLW instead of wasting charges for 1-2 HP.

Since this place is meant to kill full parties I think it would be nuts to continue with half of one. But Deluge is a disappointing character and I'm OK with losing him. Core druid focusing on spell casting with no animal companion sucks. The spell list is underwhelming. So I will abstain unless we need a tie breaker.

You still have a risk. Your risk is that if nobody makes it out you pay more to have your body retrieved. Either way you die, but it is more expensive one way.

No need to switch places, like Tere said, just wait for Tere to move behind Pau. But on the bright side the construct is wasting an action trying to move forward and thus not getting a full attack.

That's one of the things I really dislike about the system, having to figure out the stacking conflicts is a real pain at higher levels. No such thing as a perfect system though and a small price to pay for someone with a degree in math.

Not really worth it as you have to pass through 4 squares to get to the other side. And typically these things have the ability to stop you cold if you try and pummel you anyway. My advice is to just eat the attack.

I moved you. Gives me something to do. Since you said you wanted to provide a flank I moved you past the construct (wekk, assumed construct) to the other side which will draw an AoO. If that was the wrong move, speak up and I will move you back, or someone will.

I had a protection from energy spell and a resist energy wand. I never thought to cover all four elements. That would be a bit extreme. Those spells are usually fired off after you realize there is a good chance of seeing that damage type. In this case there was absolutely no warning. So it is basically one of those 'oops, you're dead' situations. Like a medusa, or feeblemind, or other spell where if you miss your ST you die. It happens. At least in PFS they put in rules to get raised so it hurts but is not too depressing, and I knew up front there was a good chance of this happening.

Wait, the flaming sphere is not an area affect. It strikes ONE target not the whole area. If that is what caused the neckless to go off then I think we might be saved.

No evasion here and the big guy is not good at dodging. He will use timelost chronicler to get a +1 to the first save, then Kassen’s Blessing to get a reroll.

1) reflex: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13; reroll:reflex: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17
2) reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
3) reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
4) reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

So he makes the first save, second save, and 5th save, for 81 damage total. He dies. Even with some lucky rolls. He never really had a chance.

Deluge hops the DC 18 flaming sphere onto the ogre with the blood stains (red) and remains secluded in his nice safe corner, then puts away his wand of stone call as it won't be ov much use and he has other plans for his hands.

Are the ogres using two handed weapons and are the metal or wood?

If they are two handed I can forget about the warp wood as the weapons would be large and I could only get one of them. Probably go with flaming sphere if that happens.

Someone make a knowledge local on these things so we know what bonekeep has done to a simple ogre.

What weapons are they using and do they have reach? Hiding behind another PC offers cover and prevents an AoO, right? thinking of using warp wood or heat metal depending on the weapon but not so enamored of the idea if he is just going to get swatted if he tries.
