What happened with this, anyway? I remember logging in for my first time in Alpha 6 or 7 and hitting someone twice while I was testing out my keybinds. I was then mercilessly beaten to death by the Thornguards. And again when I rezzed at the shrine. And then again when I rezzed at the shrine. And then again.... ad nauseam... Why did GW change that? EDIT: Not the spawn camp ganking by the TGs bit.. the Attacker flag TG aggro, I mean.

The list updates if a tower you owned at the start of UpTime in a day is subsequently captured by another company. Then, at downtime the next day, that tower is removed from your list and added to the list of the capturing company.
Guurzak wrote: instead of "how much programming time can we waste on improving the throwaway code?" It doesn't even have to show anything more than that (ie. contested by whom, etc.).
I think one solution is to have towers your company/settlement controls change colour on the map when they are in the process of being contested. RP wise, you would have to think that we have scouts/attendants (non-combative) whom we position at the tower who would have magical means of communicating with the leadership when enemies have been sighted. Game wise, it eliminates some of the man-hours, and also lets the people who WANT pvp to know exactly where to go. Also, it creates much more room for strategic warfare. "Two of our towers are being accosted. Is one just a decoy? Do we divide our troops and hope we have enough to beat the attackers down, or do we guess on which tower is the real stage and take the risk of being in the wrong place at the wrong time." - Leaders everywhere.

Hello everyone! I have created a neat little tool to help Crafters and Refiners with their jobs. The tool was built in excel and needs to either be downloaded to a desktop version of excel, or viewed in a browser in Excel Online (recommended). This tool is a really simple filter that allows you to choose a recipe and find out exactly what components you need, how many, how long it will take to craft (base), and some other info. Also, if you found materials and want to know what you can craft with them, use this tool to reverse engineer the recipes you will need (or find out which friend to give the mats to!) Please post here with any feedback or questions. Daz

I expect it to heal a middling amount of damage, cost a whole lot of stamina, and have a fairly limited range. Even under those conditions, it will beat the stuffing out of chasing people around with Minor Cure. I'm really sorry to have to say this again... but I really do have an issue with this line of thinking: If you are a Cleric, and you are finding yourself 'chasing' after your team-mates to heal them, DON'T. This game is different. It is not only the Cleric's job to keep people alive, it is everyone's. Tell your team-mates that they should come to YOU for healing. Make people accountable for their own actions and characters. EDIT: Saw your next post KB, and YES! Thank you =D "Let go of the archaic mmo ways!"

I should explain: When my wife and I get in to heated discussions and voices begin to raise, my oldest son has an adorable habit of breaking the tension by blurting random lines that usually begin with "I like"; his favourite is "I like chicken." This was my attempt to diffuse a tense situation =D Never-the-less, I do really like Clerics =D

Well, the biggest issue with this, at this stage, is just player knowledge and communication. Once people become more accustomed to the fact that AoEs can hurt their friends, and their friends know the same, it should resolve itself. Make sure to develop a solid strike plan! My usual combo is: 1. Lunge - nearest enemy to pull aggro on the whole camp
If you position and time that Whirlwind properly at the beginning, the rest of the battle should be easy-peasy.
I personally haven't cared too much for false edge: yes, it is uninterrupteable, but the distressed is only 25% chance and the damage is terrible. Iron Gate Ward is much better and provides some defensive buffs. I get my Distressed from under strike, which is much better damage per stamina and Distressed is 50%. Just my 2 copper ;) Edit: for those interested, my longsword loadout is Slash, Understrike, Iron Gate Ward, Thousand Cuts, Whirlwind, and Lunge.

I think Nihimon was referring more to the fact that people who aren't familiar with the forums will likely misconstrue 'SAD,' whereas 'S&D' would be much harder to misinterpret.

As it stands now taking any damage stops movement on the spot if the closing doesn't fail for some other more mysterious reason. For now I end up saving time and stamina just sprinting where I want to be. Hmm, but sprinting opens you up to opportunity attacks. I actually found gap-closers indispensable in the "War of the Fashion Show"™ last week. My question was more along the lines of 'what ability, and therefore chain, would you sacrifice in order to slot a gap-closer?' (If you were to slot one)
Well, this was a much bigger project than I had originally anticipated, but I think it was well worth it. Please feel free to view and download the PDF here. (This article is from the PFO wiki, however, most people cannot view it there without significant hardship. That is why I have PDF'd it.) I will also politely request that Nihimon link the file in the Public Shared Folder so that everyone can view/share. Also, please share your comments and feedback here. Happy (Keyword) Match-Making! Main hitch with the whole event: Not being able to heal friends, or even yourself, when you/they/we/us were/are/am flagged as aggressor... :( Other than that (and Dazyk forgetting to only attack Red names and now having a -7500 rep...) I had a great time! I even killed the Cheatle-miester a few times :) Nihimon was right, it never gets old :D

Your math is wrong. Advanced keywords count as 4 basic; therefore with 4 keywords matching (3x basic, 1x advanced) you would have 21 bonus encumbrance (9 for basics + 12 for advanced).
I had hoped that some of your entries were just jokes... but now seeing them in iteration 2 I am beginning to wonder.. Do we really need an entry for Kobold Cleaver? RTFM? Wow? Any term whose definition can be looked up easily on Google (like WoW, Troll, Trolling, Role Playing Game, spreadsheets, PvP, Fanbois, Forums, and on-and-on) really are not necessary in the PFO Glossary. The Glossary should be reserved for terms that are unique to PFO, and for terms (like Role, Skills, etc.) that have specific meanings in PFO or may differ from generally accepted definitions.
1. There is no hard and fast rule. Think of it like an article though: Too long and meandering and you will lose your audience's attention. Too short or technical and you won't do the subject justice. 2. You can create quotes and references by using certain code. You can Google 'wiki help' to find out more. 3. We could do this, however, the ' talk' pages are probably better suited for this as it keeps all the information in one place.

I want all my pokemon cards back then! And I'm telling your mom about what you did at my house last week! I dunno... interrupts are ok.. but to sacrifice your main gap-closer (lunge) AND your ONLY AoE attack(whirlwind) for it? I'm not sold... yet. ;)

I don't just think you are wrong, I know you are wrong. Sorry.
Andius the Afflicted wrote:
That perhaps is the point: your argument is moot because there is NO way he would have anywhere near the same perspective of the situation as you did. You viewed what happened with TEO as a personal affront, a betrayal of all 'your' hard work. You felt that everyone should listen to you because you knew best and have all this 'experience in the field.' Had the same thing happened to us, Nihimon would not have taken things so personally. He is not the type who thinks he is always right, or that he knows best. He is intelligent and often IS right, but he is not averse to be proven incorrect. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, in the land rush debacle Nihimon gave up on his first choice for a settlement location because our community as a whole decided and voted on something different. Would you have done the same?

I have spoken with, and listened to, Nihimon for many hours in TS, which is definitely a more accurate window in to what a person is like than any millions of words written in a forum can be. Others, I'm sure, can attest to the veracity of my claims. Even those who aren't Phaerians. Regardless, I'm done in here, I think. I was just getting tired of the blatant and relentless 'Nihimon-bashing' that has been happening in the last few months and wanted to say that just because he is the most vocal and active of our community doesn't mean he is alone.

Nope. I read your use of the term correctly. Anyone who feels they have an 'investment' in this game will inevitably come to the conclusion that they have some of entitlement. Bluddwolf wrote:
Exactly. So have we all. The difference is that we SHOULDN'T EXPECT certain things as reward for our time, money, and emotion. That is not how this works and is a direct correlation to that issue of feeling 'owed' because of your 'investment.' GW doesn't 'owe' any of us anything. Do they WANT to reward us and attempt to repay our 'investments' in the game? Yes. But it will be when THEY want and HOW they want. GW has a vision for how this all works. We don't get to say 'I don't think you are right because I made an "investment" in your product.'

Actually, that was me that posted that here from another thread, so don't blame Kadere. The point is that you seem to like to tell people your 'opinion' while telling everyone else that theirs don't matter, or telling them they "can't you see the obvious." Not everything that is 'obvious' and important to you will have the same priority to others. It's just that simple. And approaching it from the "I'm right and you're wrong" stance just doesn't help your cause at all.
I'm not a big fan of 'floaty' names, badges, and other such stuff. For me personally it is immersion breaking. I do think the info is important to us, though. If I specifically target someone I would like to see their name and affiliation, etc. What I would REALLY like to see is Mouseovers for all of these sorts of things: PVE and PC related. Having to switch targets to see if that goblin is a Shaman--or that PC standing in the bushes is Xeen--is pretty tedious. Good idea, Xeen.
The icons indicate groups of buffs/debuffs. Sword is attack related, shield is defense related, cross is resistances, and arrow is movement related. So a debuff that slows you will show up as a chevron underneath the arrow icon, while a buff that increases your speed will show as a chevron on top of the arrow icon. Lastly, the size of the chevron indicates the stack size of the buff/debuff.
The 'Controls' section of the Pathfinder Wiki is now completed. It includes a section on how to customize the Keybinds. Please feel free to point new players (or anyone else with questions) in that direction. Next up: Keywords ;) Special thanks to Nihimon, NytCrawlr, and Valkenr for their help.
What kind of cleric do you want to be? Healer/Buffer second row cleric?
I built a cleric who spec'd Crusader Armour, used Greatsword, and only had Buff/Heal Orisons equipped on my Battle Focus. I liked it. Other Feats: Defensive:
