2 people marked this as a favorite.

I had hoped that some of your entries were just jokes... but now seeing them in iteration 2 I am beginning to wonder.. Do we really need an entry for Kobold Cleaver? RTFM? Wow?

Any term whose definition can be looked up easily on Google (like WoW, Troll, Trolling, Role Playing Game, spreadsheets, PvP, Fanbois, Forums, and on-and-on) really are not necessary in the PFO Glossary.

The Glossary should be reserved for terms that are unique to PFO, and for terms (like Role, Skills, etc.) that have specific meanings in PFO or may differ from generally accepted definitions.

"Stand and Deliver" isn't part of a Monty Python sketch.

I think it's an Adam Ant song.

@Dazyk,

Relax, its a draft. Kobold Cleaver needs to be called 3 times before he appears, we still safe. :)

First I am soliciting feedback on "words & terms" before writing the introduction, descriptions, and editing the list.

I did not state WHO this Glossary is intended for, it might be only for new people, only for hardcore experience people, or something in-between. It not be a either/or determination. That will depended on feedback, how it fits with the rest of the site, and my workload.

It's hard to imagine a circumstance under which a glossary can have too many entries. Maybe if you're planning to read the whole thing, as opposed to looking things up that you don't understand, but even then, it's not like anyone's paying for it by the word.

I, for one, look forward to worshippingreading about our new Kobold Cleaver.

I'm also of the opinion that it's perfectly fine to include common terms in the Glossary even if their definitions can be easily found elsewhere.

Goblin: (disambiguation) ;-P

Specifics that might deserve a separate entry from "Settlement"

Starter Settlement (and/or NPC Settlement)
Player Settlement

@Dazyk, Relax...

I am very relaxed. Thank you.

My suggestions were my feedback, but they were also for your benefit. If you really want to write definitions for all those terms, be my guest.

I don't know why a forum member name would be in the glossary, unless it was attached to some other meaning:

Examples: Nihimonicon or "Pulling a Bluddwolf"

"Pulling a Bluddwolf" was an expression used by either TEO or TSV on their forums, but it has been mentioned here on these forums as well.

If I recall it had something to do with posting in and out of character, but not claiming which, to keep people guessing.

Also, the list above needs "Goblin Balls".

I would certainly like to contribute to the glossary for the definition of Green Hat Tuesday, since that is my creation. I'm not quite certain SAD is mine, but maybe the use of the acronym is.

"loot monkey" is mine as well.

How did we miss including Goblin Balls? Amazing!

Well done, Bluddwolf.

@Bluddwolf,

Goblin balls, indeed. Almost ashamed I forgot it. :)

Feel free to write up descriptions to the terms you like, I will add it to the list on the next update.

I will be working on updating this on my next day off. Does anyone has any more recommendations or word submissions before I start?
