Wondering where to spend that first, free 1,000 xp? The following is an all-around good build that will help you maximize your efficiency for the first few hours in PFO. You can check the list out here in the 'Starting XP' tab. This build requires no Achievements, so you can purchase it within the first few minutes of logging in.
Here are a few notes:
1. Mage or Scholar Armour feat? "I don't want to play a Wizard," you say. Yes, but those Peasant's Clothes you are wearing have the Keyword 'Clothing', which will match with these feats and grant bonuses that will make the first few hours much easier. For 8xp (4.8 minutes to earn), you really cannot go wrong.
1a. With Mage you will gain:
Physical Resistance +5, HP +25, Power +40, Fort Def +1, Reflex Def +2, Will Def +2, as well as a few other perks.
1b. With Scholar you will gain:
Speed +1%, Arcana/ Dungeoneering/ Geography/ History/ Local/ Nature/ Planes/ Survival +4 each, HP +25, Power +40, Fort Def +1, Reflex Def +1, Will Def +3, as well as a few other perks.
2. Heavy Melee Attack Bonus Feat. Again, even if you intend to play a Wizard, this feat will help with that gorgeous club you will be holding for the next few hours. +4 Bonus with Heavy Melee weapons for 36xp (21.6 minutes).
3. You have enough XP for one (1) armour OR weapon proficiency, and one (1) implement proficiency. I recommend getting an implement proficiency because that will also open up the ability to learn a Utility Feat.
4. Why no Attack Feats? Well, because you only have so much xp to spend at first, and you already know all the basic attacks to go with any weapon you find.
Conclusion: Yes, you will be spending xp on feats that you won't be using for very long, and may never use them ever again! If you are only interested in building the perfect PVP warrior in the fastest time possible, these tips are not for you. If, however, you are alright with a character who will be 26.4 minutes behind in training time, try this build!
