Is there any traits or feats that allow you to use your Charisma on Spellcrafting checks?

I know some class features like Pagent of the Peacock does it, but I am looking specifically for feats or traits.

Alright I am FINALLY getting to play Starfinders and it is Dark Suns. I am super excited. The problem is I have no idea what I want to play. The party currently is going to have a Mechanic (Drone), a Ghost Operative and a Technomancer.

Right now I am torn between playing a Envoy or a Soldier. The party lacks both a face and a front line combat type. What I am asking is can someone sell me on one of these two classes?

Alright folks I was invited to join a Underdark campaign that is running later today. I have decide to play a character focused on enchantment spells and mind control. The party alignment is neutral leaning towards the dark side...so for once in my life I can play an evil character. Taking that into account what the best Enchantment currently (outside of Kitsune Sorc.)

Hi folks, A friend of mine is looking to play a Paladin in an up coming starfinder campaign i am running. The character is a previous character he played in an old Pathfinder game in a campaign I ran that was lost in time. I know Starfarers has a conversion class. I have heard a lot of bad things about the book but nothing about the Paladin itself. Is the class any good or does it suck too? Has anyone come across any other versions?
Please note I am strictly asking about the Paladin class. This is due to storyline/backstory reasons. The player is willing to switch to other classes if need be but would prefer to play a Paladin. So please don't waste my time and your own telling me about Starfinder core options he can play instead or that I shouldn't allow him to do this.

So I got a response from my GM. He thinks the Occult classes are to powerful. Not sure what to make of that.

Recently I have been trying to join a new pathfinder game online. One common theme I have found for each game, no matter the style, is that the Occult classes are all banned. Can some one explain why this is? Are the classes really all that broken?

Hey Folks,
I recently joined a new roll20 campaign. The GM is running the updated version Curse of the Crimson Throne. After much internal debating I have decide to go with an Aasimar Spirit-Walker Mesmerist. I am playing a deceiver/manipulator, focusing mainly on the roleplaying aspect. I want to be effective in combat but I don't feel like it should be my main focus. The feats I plan on taking are as follows:

1-Decietful
3-Conceal Spell
5-Spell Focus Enchantment
7-Leadership
9-Greater Spell Focus (Ench.)
12-Extend Stare
15-Reflective Gaze
17-Spell Pen

I was wondering if anyone could offer me any advice? How does my feats look? Is there any other feats that counts as Deceitful for the purpose of Prerequisite?

Unfortunately I don't think there are any real spell or power that can grant what you are looking for on a grand scale but I might be mistaken.

I suggest checking book of the damned. Thhere might be something there.

Alright folks so I recently joined a new Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign and I have decide I want to play an enchantment/illusionist/debuff specialist. I am hoping to make this character decent in combat but have a heavier focus on the role playing aspect of the game. Right now I am looking at either playing a Dreamweaver Witch or a Mesmerist. The numbers I rolled for stats are 8, 13, 14, 12, 15, 13.

Honestly however it been so long since I have been on this side of the table I have no clue on what I am doing. Any of you have any words of wisdom? Aka if you where building character that specialized in enchantment spells what would you build?

Alright so this is really starting to get out of hand. I did not ask if the nature of the actions was fall worthy or evil. I did not ask if I should do anything about him. (I have been playing with this group long enough tri know everyone conferblity levels.)

All I asked was if there was a funny or interesting Archtype I could suggest to a sex crazed Pali.

RealAlchemy wrote:
Arshea and Lymnieris are solid choices for a sexually focused deity a paladin can follow, but consent is quite important for both.

That great and all...but the Paladin has a detiey already. ^.^;;

He following the one of the deities from the homebrewed setting I am running the campaign in. Her name is Maara. She is the goddess of heroes, the harvest, liquor and fertility. Think of her as a mix between Dionysus and Demeter....she is also known to be rather promiscuous. The Pali is not going to fall because he is playing Paladin of Maara acutely.

Oh one more think I will put in the opening post. I am not a fan of the Alignement system. I find the idea of good and evil to be completely dependent on an individual person's point as well as the cultural norms of the region. There for I tend not to enforce the system in my game.

Wow this blew up far faster then I expected.

I will respond to the individual post later.. when I am on my computer and not on the phone but to add a little content the only people he groped so far are his fellow teammates, all of whole from backstory requirements are in character childhood friends of his. The entire party grew up togeth....none of them have taken real offense at the characters actions.
.

Alright, so one of my players is playing a Aasmir paladin and is being a bit raunchy about it. He literally is flirting with every sentient with every sentient NPC they meet, turned a fair amount of situation into sex jokes and has repeatedly groped his teammates (when he uses lay on hands).

Nothing he done has triggered a fall as far as I am concerned. One of the aspects the deity he follows is in fact "fertility and sex." I am just wondering if there is any archetypes you guys think would accurately represent an "errotic" paladin beside Channel Variants.

Alright folks so with Starfinder coming out and my game being all about magic and technology. I am having a reality shift take place in game (due to the outside forces messing with the the higher arch of the divine) and changing from Pathfinder to Starfinder. While one of my players is rebuilding his character's class the other two have decide to stick with there original classes. That mean's I've got a Dark Sister witch and an alchemist I need to convert. The witch is getting an updated spell list, hex list and a boost to her bab but otherwise staying the same. At least that the plan.
I am not sure how I should update/balance the alchemist and was wondering if any of you had any advice.

Honestly the real flaw in Sniper Rifles is the fact that rarely is the extraordinary range required or even warned. Speaking from experiences most combat situations are going to be in alot more confined areas.

I am not arguing that Sniper Rifles and technomancers are really cool. Or that the idea of shooting some one from 1000ft away with a Explosive blast isn't awesome...i am just saying it is rarely the most feasible combat build.

Alright a real simple (maybe stupid question.) When a PC takes damage that would knock him unconscious does he take the full damage or stop at -1. For example a character is at 5hp. He takes 11 damage. Does that mean he drops to -1 or -6 hp?

Also a character dies if his to drops below the negative of his con score right? Aka if a charactetr has only 10 con if he drops below -10 he is dead..right?

I am going look at the class more in depth later tonight but it is always prudent to get a second opinion.

So one of my players wants to play a Vizier from Dreamscarred Press. I've only taken a quick look at them and am still on the fence. I know Dreams cared typically makes decent stuff but how do you all feel about them? More importantly how do you feel about the Vizier. Tell me is it overpowered, underpowered, balenced, are mechanics good, what?

Thanks for the advice everyone but I think I am going to bit the bullet and avoid/dodge the game. The GM literally just told me a mesmerist is to powerful for the game. To that end I think anything I'd want to play would be 'too powerful'. Apparently he only normally allows core only stuff (core book only) and as much much as I want play the game I dont want to have to restrict myself that much.

Alright recently I have been invited to join a pathfinder game. I am a little hesident about joining but I am itching for some good old pathfinder fun. The game is in need of a healer (which to me translate to a support type character...since healing as a primary focus is sub-optimal at best.) Which is fine I love supports....battle field control and debuffing/buffing is my jam. Right now I am leaning towards a Mesmerist...cause I always wanted to play one but I thought that I'd ask around and see what other players think are good support class. A couple things to take of note.....

-The current party has a Rouge and some sort of caster (Wizard I think)
-Magic items are VERY rare and crafting feats are flat out banned.
-No more then one arcane caster is allowed in the party and the role been already filled. (so bard is out)
-Twenty Five point buy and starting at level 8
-Supposedly rp focused.
-Oh and cant be evil!

Yeah, so I am trying to remember is there any type of spell out there that gives you a free pass on a Concentration check?

Essentially I am trying to figure out how to cast a spell while concentrating on another spell....with out accessing metamagic quicken.

Can you give me these peoples names and addresses so I can hunt them down and debate with anyone stupid enough to think there is a system that prevents power gaming? If it exists someone can find a loophole in it.

There's one...I can't remember the name of it, it's an Indy game, and I think it involved puppet people for the fluff, but the "crunch" was...interesting, and something I'd try If I couldn't find my dice (or was really blitzed and didn't want to do math, or whatever).

First off, there's no classes, attributes, etc. Basically the system was all freeform narrative. The GM takes alternating turns with the players describing actions, wherein anything the players says he does, his character does, but the caveat is that the players cannot declare if it succeds or not, only the GM can, and it's pretty much all on if the GM thinks it'd work or not. He doesn't say "I attack", "You miss", but more a "with a backwards spin I come at him with my blade aimed squarely at his throat", "and, having battled against you before, he knows to duck at the beginning of your spin, backflipping as his foot catches you in the chin, sending you flying towards the pit of spikes." It kinda goes on from there, with the players able to think up any responses they can...

Admittedly, it takes a totally different kind of player to get into that kind of game (I don't think I could do it sober, that's for sure), but methinks it's may be the only one I've heard of you cannot break.

Probably because it's not so much a game as collaborative storytelling.

pretty sure you are talking about the Amber rpg.

PS, as long as you are not actually evil (and you can argue that the animating of undead animals is not evil, undead animals also tend to be stronger anyway then humanoids) if said paladin tries to smack you around, they lose paladin powers.

You raise an undead bear. Paladin screams evil and attacks you. GM turns to paladin and says, "You feel your divine might slip away as you bring the blade down upon your comrade". Paladin loses paladin powers for attacking a teammate who is not evil WITHOUT some kind of compulsion forcing him to. If the attack does kill you, GM could say that the no longer paladin must now go on a redemption quest to redeem himself.

True...if this was a different GM. I have played with her before, my GM going to auto-label undead as evil. It how she operates.

Eh, at that point I'd recommend just going with a Bone mystery Oracle. They're pretty much everything you could want in a Necromancer, and you can flavor it however you want.

Thought about it but any type of Necro wont work. I know the pally OC, he'll most likely attack anything undead. I have decide to drop the Juju oracle entirely (hence the point of this thread) rather then risk the IC/OC drama that a juju oracle would cause.

P.S. Talked to my friend yesterday. For his skill monkey it looks like he going to settling with a Bard.

So right now I am toying with a archer of some sort....maybe a slayer.

I think people are reading to much into my title facetious. I'm not actually trying to drive my GM crazy or make her angry at me. All I am trying to do is figure out what class I should play.

As for the player i "don't get along with" the person a good individual...I not call use friends but we can defiantly existed in the same room together with out any problems most of the time. The main problem is he a bit quick to anger and tends to take everything that happens in game way to seriously out of game. The problem is I tend to get to much in character and refuse to meta-game most of the time.

Other wise we are perfectly fine. So rather then bring possible drama into the game I am trying to find something else to play.

So recently I've been asked by a friend to help teach him how to play Pathfinder. My response was to set him up with several friends I know who are starting a pathfinder game using modified PFS rules. Main differents is item creation feats are allowed....in limitation.

The thing is my friend wants me to join with him and I am dead out of inspiration. I'd like to play a Juju oracle but it cause to much inter-party conflicts. (one of the few members in the group that I don't get along with in rL is playing a pally.)

Anyways I need some ideas on what to play. The party currently has a Life Oracle (healer), a pally, a monk and a wizard/gunslinger hybrid (not a spellslinger). My friend is probably playing a skill-monkey like a rouge or a investigator.

but I have no idea what to play....any ideas?
The party is starting at level 1 and has a 25 point buy.

p.s. the game mostly centered around the inner sea.

Umm I am pretty sure that you can't drop your first bloodline power, since primal choices does not come into effect till your fourth level.

There is a trait called accelerated drinker designed specifically for that purpose.

Check out the Medium that Paizo is currently play testing in the Occult handbook. It sounds like what you are looking for.

Hi so I've got a couple of questions revolving around the intimidate skill.

First things first, I am trying to remember the name of a feat that gives you a free extra attack when you hit an enemy that is shaken. I think it a monsture feat but I am not sure.

Second question, is there any class/feat/item in the game (beside being a Anti-paladin) that allows you to demoralize undead creatures? (and no a cleric turn undead won't work for this)

Ummm...honestly first I am going to commend your player for actually using leadership how it is supposed to be used, rather then the typical way. (Which is to use leadership to acquire a wizard with all the magic building feats and have them pump out super cheap magic items for the party.)

Now getting on to the real problem at hand. Most GMs typically banned leadership. That being said, you didn't so your going to have to roll with the punches...sort of speak. I wouldn't take/punish your player for being effective, though it might be a bit prudent to pull him aside and ask him to tone it down a little, or share some of the buff spells with other players.

Honestly however I cant give to much advise with out knowing what the players PC class and his cohort class is.

Ummm have you ever seen the Rough and Ready trait? That wolf totally fit the character consept.

Yeah so I am planning on building a Gunslinger for an up coming Pathfinder game. The campaign is set in a undead heavy world and I want to play as a effective sniper.

What are some ways that I can block lifesense while hiding?

p.s. Hide from Undead as is doesn't cut it...so don't bother suggesting it.

ummm not sure maybe the oracle or the warpriest has it.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll most likely go bloodrager. Not sure yet what kind. Leaning towards either Aberrant with the Primal Archetype or a Steelblood Destined rager.

So I recently joined a new PF home-brewed campaign. I am starting off at level 8, the rest of the party is level 8 through 10. Currently they have a duel-wielding Rogue, a blasty sorc, a generic alchemist, an oracle, a mystic theurge and a newly joined Warpriest.

The group is clearly in desperately in need of a front line fighter type. I been looking at both Bloodrager and Brawler as two possibilities...but cant pick which one to play. (They are both good front line tanks and are both very shiny)

Any suggestions, build ideas or advice would be welcome.

Oh btw we are using dice generated ability scores. I rolled a 17,16,16,14,15,15. (in front of the GM and another player)

ummm has it come out early or something?

Wow I can barely read that....

(Not going to make fun of the ops English cause you know "stones and glass house".)

Anyways..first off what the stat system here? Are you rolling or point buying. From you post it sounds like you are point buying but I can't be sure.
Second do you know what the other players are planning on rolling up for their characters?

Couldnt tell you that...on the account that they (whoever they are) have yet to actually join. Not that it really matters, I know I want to be caster focusing on mind control. The rest is just finding the right class, feat and items to do so.

I am fairly competent with Core pathfinder material but not with 3pp material, so that is what I am asking for. Is there anything in that area that I might have missed.

So I am about to join a Homebrewed urban pathfinder Drow campaign that focus on the goings on of the Underdark city Menzoberranzan. My friend is DMing it and has given use the heads up that this game is going to be a heavy focus on roleplaying and puzzle solving, and less of a focus on combat. I know that there will be four of use in the game but I’ve only talked to one other player. He going to be playing a Drow Investigator.

I for one am was thinking about playing a Drow sorc. specializing in enchantment/mind control spells and using my own homebrewed prc (that the GM already approved). I’ll post the link down below if anyone wants to take a look at it but all you really need to know is that the cap ability allows you effect sentient creatures that are normally immune to mind affecting spells.

However before I make my final choose I’d thought I’d way my options. My GM has recently told me that he is allowing 3pp, as long as it goes along with the theme and he still gets final say. Unfortently I am not 100% familiur with all the 3pp material out there so I’d thought I’d ask you all. Is there any class out there in the pathfinder universe that is better suited at mind control than that of a sorcerer? (beside psions)

(I am also looking a 3pp spells, feats and items if anyone has any suggestions)

Enchantment Spinner (Homebrewed PrC I am useing)
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?336108-PrC-Enchantment-Spinne r-please-PEACH&p=17152044#post17152044

Really? i know that true for a conj focused wizard but for enchanment....
Anyways I still stand by what I said for multiclassing if you
Really want to specialize in enchantment....

Otherwise the cleric trick posted abouve is a good call (if your GM allows it. It is a bit cheesy)

I'd personally advise holding of on the metamagic feats for the next level and grab craft magic items. Right now you don't have access to the high level spell slots you need to use metamagic effectivly.

Persistent spell makes them roll twice for any saving throws and take the lowest. It a really goodfeat.
Other feat I'd look at is:
-Craft Magic Item (cause it just so good)
-Toughness
-Leadership
-Magic Pen + Greater Magic Pen.
-Highten Metamagic

Also what type of game are you in? What is everyone else playing?
Do you have a face characteror are you acting as the equivalent?

If you are the closest thing to the face I suggest taking on of the 'extra trait' feats out there and piucking up Student of Philosophy

....that is if traits are allowed?

Mind if I ask you why you went Wizard for your Enchanter?

Generally Witches and Sorc. are consistered better for that line of casting.

EDIT:
Oh as for multiclassing, my advice...dont do cleric.

Your best option would be to take a one level dip into sorc and pick up a crossblood Undead/Serpentine bloodline. It would work wonders for the number of things you can target.

Hmmm you might have a point there.
I will take that into account. I might replace it with a different bonus or simply drop it all together.

Other then that, any other suggestions?

The purpose of the "nat 20" clause is to remove the mentality "Well I have 1 out of 20 chance of breaking free, I might as well argue everything you command me PC to do is against his/her nature."

There is still risk involved (IE break enchantment, dispel, anti-magic field.)

Way back in D&D 3.5 a persisting class known as Nightmare Spinner was published in one of it "Complete" series book. This class was a focus for an illusion specialist caster. What alot of people missed zat the time (or choose to ignore) was the fact with in the fluff of the class was a line stating that it could be adapted to an Enchantment Spinner and that through this means a enchantment caster could in fact over come mind affecting immunity.

I have always personally been a major fan of the enchantment school, despite is sub-optimal nature. While pathfinder has improved the school in some aspect, it is still often considered the weakest of the schools. I have decided to adapted the Enchantment Spinner to Pathfinder, as a way of improving the schools mobility with out making it to overly powerful. Please note this is only vary loosely based off of the Nightmare spinner and is not an exact adoptions.

Unfortunately Paizo does not allow the amount of formatting I like to use when posting a homebrew. So instead I have posted the actually build and class feature on Giant in the Play Ground and posted a link bellow this. Please review the class and make all the suggestions you can think of either on this thread or the gitp thread.

What type of campaign? Urban setting? Dungeon Crawl? Unusual environment?

What races are allowed? If the unusual ones are permitted it can be fun to build around... an ifrit fire elementalist or a fetchling umbral sorcerer.

In the end only you know what *you* like to play. Buffer? Control? Blaster? Summorner? Enchanter? But a little more info will help us give you even more ideas to have to sort thru.

Everything pathfinder is allowed.

As for the general storyline. I am not exactly sure what going on. It a home-brew campaign. I think the storyline takes them all over. So some urban, some dungeons and some whatever else is going on at the moment.
