![]() I think "Paizo community" is a perfect description. Still working on the sheets to make sure I know exactly how they tick (and I'm still in the process of wrapping my head around the 2E kingdom rules, anyway), but I have some ideas already. ![]()

![]() Firstly, wow, these are looking amazing! Frankly I might even just save myself the worry and not do an updated version myself, because these are just awesome. Secondly, and this is by no means a criticism AT ALL, but tomeric, could you please remove my name from your references to the Ultimate Campaign Kingdom Tracking Spreadsheet, as I cannot in good conscience claim any form of ownership for a project that has been the work of several primary authors as well as countless users who have found bugs and suggested revisions. I am immensely proud to be the current caretaker of that sheet, but I absolutely refuse to claim it's "mine". But going back to the real topic, I am blown away by these. I'm going to spend a few days having a play around with them, and if you'd like I can share my thoughts? ![]()

![]() Dex score is given as 26, so... +11/6/1, +8 Dex, +1 WF is +20/15/10. Weapon training and +2 weapon puts it up to +23/18/13. TWF with a light weapon (+2 dagger in off-hand) is -2/-2, so with the three attacks GTWF allows, the full attack combo seems to be: +21/16/11 rapier and +20/15/10 dagger. Unless someone points out a place I'm wrong, of course. ![]()

![]() To try and help out the CS team: after you've left it personalizing for 60 seconds and you click on the link again, what happens? The download process is a bit odd, and doesn't work the way you might think: you have to click the product link 3 times during the process: once to personalise, once to prepare the download, and once to actually download it. ![]()

![]() That's a pretty fair point, given how tightly this product ties into Ultimate Relationships and is almost required to make URel work, plus with this being a plug-in for existing AP characters, it might not fall foul of the cultural sensitivity issues that made LG pull the Far East line (a decision I wholeheartedly support, btw). The most significant problem is that it's probably not a huge seller, so the cost of a cultural sensitivity review might be beyond the value this product has to LG. Given how much I love this product and the value it adds to URel, I will see if I can have words with the relevant parties and come to some sort of conclusion. ![]()

In that case time for a small element of education. The term "cis" is actually a chemistry term meaning "on the same side", in contrast to the term "trans" meaning "on the other side". Since the term transgender is used to reference someone who has "changed sides" (ie transitioned from their assigned-at-birth gender), by common usage someone who is cisgender retains their assigned-at-birth gender. In cases where it's clear that gender is being discussed, it is reasonable to shorten both terms to the prefix only. Therefore the term cis is not an acronym or initialism, but a complete term in its own right and does not require capitalisation. This educational moment brought to you by someone who was once offended by the term cis who then got educated and is now a strong advocate for it. ![]()

![]() I appreciate what has been said, and it shows an awareness that I think many people have feared didn't exist. I am also encouraged by the employee engagement survey and reaching out to a law firm for an external investigation. These are positive steps. The apologies for poor behaviour and corporate decisions are also welcome in my eyes. I am also aware that Paizo cannot discuss internal disciplinary or staffing matters. I would hope that, at least in regards to former employees, Paizo seriously consider making it clear that those ex-staff are able to publicly discuss their employment (and the end thereof) and experience of disciplinary proceedings. This is a start. I consider it a positive one. There is a lot more. ![]()

![]() I have emailed Jeff, Erik and Lisa, and expressed my feelings as respectfully and honestly as I could, and called upon them to voluntarily recognise UPW. I've seen some antagonism and comments that make it clear that some people perceive Management and the Union to be in opposition to one another, and while I am aware that it is possible for that to happen over some issues, the overall impact that a good union and an honest company management can achieve is exceptionally advantageous to everyone involved. That is the position UPW are looking to get to - working with the Execs to make Paizo stronger and better. I cannot applaud the decision to create UPW enough, and I have high hopes for the future. ![]()

![]() I think you're on the right track, RD. Basically, the FAQ text doesn't let you use your normal 10th level spell slot for any spell you could cast without expending a spell slot, and you can't use your normal 10th level spell slot for abilities that give you more spell slots, but the Divine Font ability is outside that - you don't use the normal 10th level spell slot for Divine Font, it has its own spell slots. So if an ability creates spell slots "at your highest spell level" and you can cast 10th level spells, that's fine, they work as expected and create 10th level spell slots. Similarly, 10th level cantrips are fine - you're not using the 10th level spell slot to cast cantrips without expending spell slots, you're using your cantrips for it. ![]()

![]() The deluxe are really collector's items. The major difference is the cover (faux-leather embossed) - all of the contents are identical. As someone who does like collecting RP books, I consider it a worthwhile purchase, but I use my normal edition for day-to-day play. ![]()

![]() It partly depends on what is being meant by a "6-mile hex" or a "20-mile hex" (though my calculations make that second map closer to 15 miles per hex, which is rather amusing since the legend says it's 10). If we assume that both mean "corner to corner", then a 12-mile hex has an area of 93.6 m^2, a 6-mile hex has an area of 23.4 m^2 and a 15-mile hex has an area of 146.1 m^2. The only change you'd actually need to make would be to hex population densities - the UCam rules assume 250 people per 93.6 mile-squared hex, so a 6-miler would have 62.5 people per hex, and a 15-miler would have 390. Everything else can be run as written without any impact on the balance of the subsystem. ![]()

![]() Full disclosure: I've been wanting to move my weekly War for the Crown game over to 2E for a while, now, but I've been a bit reluctant to do so because one of my players is playing a Swashbuckler, and was very firm with me that he couldn't get the "feel" of the character right with a fighter or a rogue in 2E, so he didn't want to convert until we had a suitable class. So when the APG classes were announced, I was excited, and as soon as the playtest dropped, we converted his 1E character over as best we could and launched into a series of test-case combat encounters to see if he could get a proper feel for it. To help out, I converted the rest of the party (cleric, rogue, bard) as well, and ran them as a whole party using the sort of tactics the players had used in the combat encounters of our game. The encounters I ran were against a variety of foes, including undead, goblinoids, giants, and gnolls - I tried to find foes that made thematic sense together, but also different threats and styles of combat. This was conversion of a 7th level party, and the results were positive: There was only one encounter where the party were seriously outmatched, and that included a succubus that the swashbuckler immediately engaged while the rest of the party dealt with her gnoll thralls. The swashbuckler was immediately shut down by the succubus' Embrace and Passionate Kiss abilities and my careful consideration was that the passionate kiss is overpowered. Every single other encounter, whether against foes with ranged attacks, melee attacks, special abilities, whatever, the result was that the swashbuckler danced around the battlefield almost at will, setting up and delivering finishers to deadly effect, and utterly blitzing in teamwork with the rogue. This is not to say that there weren't challenges: in one battle, I rolled something like 4 natural 20s over the course of three rounds, and none of the PCs rolled above a 10 on the dice (we play using Roll20 and I had rolls set publicly, there was no fudging or cheating on this at all). The fact that the swashbuckler went haring off on his own created a few problems, not least that it meant the cleric had a hard time getting close enough to heal him (and he really needed it on occasion). My conclusion from this set of test encounters is that the swashbuckler fits into the roll of melee specialist extremely well. The cycle of ability use to sustain panache works very well, and means that the bonus damage from precise strike isn't overboard, though we did feel that finishing follow-through could be a feature of panache rather than a feat and not unduly unbalance things. Since I started writing this, my players have told me that they're happy to convert to 2E, so we'll see some real play in the not-too-distant future. ![]()

Sorry, squire, but I have to back Rysky up on this: by your own admission, you came to this thread, didn’t find what you wanted in the first place you looked, didn’t bother checking if anyone was doing collation, and then stated essentially “because I didn’t look at everything, here’s something I’ve noticed that might already have been noticed but I can’t be bothered to check if it’s been mentioned already”. That feels very dismissive of the work everyone else has put into the thread. While you might not have intended it that way, your post wasn’t friendly or constructive, but feels lazy and dismissive. ![]()

![]() Can you find a rules citation for a two-handed battleaxe, a light heavy pick, and a two-handed warhammer that's not as the result of using a weapon sized for a larger or smaller creature? As far as I can tell, a battleaxe is a battleaxe, a heavy pick is a heavy pick, and a warhammer is a warhammer. The text for heavy picks indicates that they are a "variant of the light pick" with a bigger handle for one- or two-handed use, not that they are a larger version of the light pick. ![]()

![]() Wooot! There's an added thing I want to say about this, which is that I want everyone to know that I'm committed to completing the Ultimate Campaign Kingdom Tracking Spreadsheet for Ultimate Rulership, Ultimate War, and Ultimate Battle. I will also ensure that I update the sheet to include Ultimate Armies as quickly as I can once those rules are available. AND I will be adding Faction tracking for Ultimate Factions to the spreadsheet as well. AND I will be adding multiple stronghold pages to the spreadsheet for Ultimate Strongholds. Unlike Jason, I can't really commit to a timescale for completion of this because I actually don't yet know how complex some of that's going to be, but there will be an Ultimate Kingdoms version of the tracking spreadsheet for everyone's use. ![]()
