Stepped outside this morning and it's already 62˚F. If it were September or even October I'd think, "Oh, boy! Gonna be a hot one today!"

It's December, so my only thought is, "WTH?"

What the hell indeed!

I'm sick. Which of your aliases has a legitimate cure? I know for sure it ain't 4 Out Of 10 Doctors.

Find someone you don't like and cough in their face.

That should make you feel better.

The groundhogs are lying little f+*~ers.

I will bathe the tundra with their blood.

If I had any free time, and the tundra wasn't buried under four feet of snow, and it seems like a lot of work.

A foot of snow my ass!

And so it begins.

Snow! Lots and lots of snow!!

Of course this being Madison, there will be school tomorrow.

Give me snow or give me warmth.

I even have the harness ready for the sled.

I was promised snow for today.

They even put the beet brine on the roads, anticipating snow.

So, where's the goddamn f!@#ing snow!!!

That blast of Canadian air sure makes it feel chilly.

Whatever it takes to get acclimated.

So, you knew he wasn't moving up by me... :-(

Oh sure, just rub it in!

Mwahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Welcome to my world!

Out of curiosity, how much is considered "a dumping" there.

Enjoy it while it lasts!

And especially, stay safe!

I used to live in Seattle, I know how incompetent the drivers can be. :-)

Because it's rained all day, instead of everything being covered in a half inch of ice, everything is now covered in a half inch of slush.

Which cannot be slid on. >:-(

Very disappointed the east coast got slammed with snow, and didn't involve us in any way. >:-(

keeps sharpening snowballs in anticipation of the impending polar vortex.

We'll see about that...

Edit: note to self: friction does not sharper a snowball make.

It's twenty degrees right now, that's the warmest it will get today.

Another 4-6 inches (of snow) is expected Saturday night into Sunday.

Weight of winter layers is now up to 24 pounds, I added another wool lined hoodie, scarf, and gloves.

Cold? What's cold?

Give me a spear and I'll look exactly like the Horizon Walker from the Advanced Player's Guide. :-)

My favorite part of the first snowfall is seeing what people use for improvised windshield ice scrappers (that's also a good way to spot newbies)

Saw a guy using a pooper scooper today. It wasn't going well.

By the way, the best improvised windshield ice scrapper are CD cases.

I'd say we got a good 4 inches (of snow), very wet and packable.

Because Pea Bear is twelve and getting into Scream Queens we now have an assortment of snow person heads populating our yard.

November 19th, the day winter arrived.

Not complaining, It's been way earlier.

Off to get f&%%ing stocking caps, because it's f#~*ing cold out.

And then there's me in early March after getting shafted by that f*&$ing a*#~@&$ Groundhog.

Looks at 7 day forecast, glares in general direction of Freehold, glares back at forecast.

Edit: Begins crying over poorly planned wardrobe choices.

No, that must be the freezing rain that's coming down here, so much freezing rain. I don't cry, I get even....

Could you try to redirect this to Orthos or Tacticslion and Thegreenbucketgamer, we no longer have need for it, and I'd hate for them to... miss out.

Ha!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Sorry, it'll be so cold out east, I never wanted it to get that cold.

I suspect Freehold was fiddling with the controls.

... wait who had the winter thingy, pretty sure my thing was a summer collider..

And yes, I'm promptly sending it Freehold's way afterwards (sorry CH!).

You should be sorry.

Don't blame me, I'm not in charge of the jet stream.

Blame Canada.

glares at the bay area

26 is our high today, after that, it starts to get cold, with no end in sight.

That f%@+ing Groundhog had better be right, I used to live on a farm, I'm not afraid of getting my hands bloody dirty.

I would never actually harm a groundhog, Caddyshack is one of my favorite movies.

Now, it starts snowing.

Lame.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Lamest Death Blizzard ever!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Stupid death blizzard hype!

Time is short, only a month and a half of winter left, and hardly a decent snowfall yet. :-(

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Great!

Now we're down to 2-4 inches (of snow)

That's no good at all.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Reign of Winter has some pretty far reaching consequences if the player characters fail.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I want a blizzard now.

Mwahahahahaha!!!

Hope you weren't planning on a white Christmas Freehold!

Seems my Summer Collider works better than I thought it would.

Mwahahahahaha!!!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Oh no, I would say I didn't let it go.

Let's just say don't give quicklings dual initiative, and entrails can spell so many words, when dragged through the snow. :-)

We never got there, I killed the whole party, partially due to general low morale (the last two winters here have been brutal) and partially because my daughter would play the frozen soundtrack at key moments.

It had to be done, for that reason alone.

Too late! Plans have been made! Contracts sealed! I should get my revenge in 120-180 days, boy you guys are gonna regret f!%@ing wi.... Oh, goddamn it!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

57 here, windy, has been raining for two days, should stop later, just in time for the annual bottoming out of temperatures, followed by a nice brisk inch of snow for the weekend.

I miss summer already.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It's that stupid in between time of the transition to winter that I hate so much!

Hard to get going this week.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Don't get me started on straight roads, I know your pain, and will again soon, just hopefully not too soon.

I should go check the weather forecasts...

It's been in the mid-70's with an occasional lapse into the 80's for about 3 months now.

I'm 5th-gen Bay Area, so weather monotony is in my blood, but seriously?!?! 3 months without any significant changes???

Do SOMETHING weird, please Mr. Sky!

EDIT: Some people have conquerors, dictators, or other infamous people in their past. Me? I get John LeConte, first president of U.C. Berkeley but otherwise the less famous of the two brothers. (I always forget whether John or Joseph was my great-great-grandfather, so I look up which one has the shorter Wikipedia entry, and that one's mine...)

Looks at the forecast for today, and the snow flurries blowing outside his window, then realizes it's been weeks since he last felt the kiss of mid seventies to eighty degree temperatures

Vengeance will be mine!

begins sharpening icicles and trying to craft militarized snowmen out of what few flakes have already fallen

It is f~~#ing cold this morning, with a round of snow all but certain.

It's a good thing it's Halloween vacation, otherwise it might upset me more :-)
