You know what I really, really hate? Windows 10's habit of setting folders to read only and then automatically reverting them back to read only every time you change it. I built the damn computer myself, so I'm pretty sure I can decide whether I want certain files modified or not. Especially when it's video game files Windows 10 is doing this to, not just essential OS stuff that can brick the whole computer if broken.

I wonder. Is the system attribute for the folder set or cleared?

The default seems to be to have it read only, so I'd say the attribute is cleared when you uncheck it, but I could be wrong about that, not being a programmer.

Based on the anime.
Nice. Overlooked the anime because it didn't interest me at the time. Now I'll have to look into it. After I get my Debit card issue resolved. As for Smite, any idea which platforms it runs on?

OMG is it going to actually let me post again?!

Smite runs on PC, Mac, Xbone, and PS4.

Rwby just keeps getting better and better, and it started good in my never humble opinion.

Yeah, welcome back. The servers were down pretty much all day. Probably due to severe weather in Washington State. Thanks for the Platform info. I'll probably get the PC game, since I'll need a better one to play Skyrim from the collection.

Yes, the read-only attribute is cleared when you clear the checkbox, so having it reset to read-only may be a security feature. The Link I pm'd you may help. PM me if there is anything else you need to know. Good luck! :)

That issue, or something very similar I have seen in many-many incarnations of Windows :/

Paraphrase of a conversation between me and my manager last Thursday morning:

Manager: I need you to do these training modules as soon as you can. (Hands me list of modules)
grdlm: Sure. I'll get started on them when I'm here Saturday night.
Manager: You know you can do them at home, right? Just use your computer to go to the website.
grdlm: Yep, but training is work. I get paid to work. You're not asking me to work off the clock, are you?
Manager: (long pause)Uhh...no. Just, try to get them done soon.
grdlm: Ok.

I don't mind doing the training modules, even if they are stupidly pointless. But I am going to get paid for doing them.

So I just started watching RWBY...

I am in the second half of the second season.

I am going to sleep for now, as it is 11 am...

I dread the moment when I watch the available episodes and won't be able to watch more...

It was ace.

Then we went to the pub. Then, I went to a Goth club to watch my friend's techno/Black Metal band, but didn't stay past the end of his set.

Which band is this? Winterfylleth? I'm always interested in a bit of black metal :)

The animation evens out at later seasons.

The "good" news is that the first few episodes of Season 3 slack off quite a bit (in my mind).

The bad news is, they then turn it back up to 11 to finish off the season...

I think that the security feature is meant to prevent viruses and other malware from scrambling all your documents. By marking the entire document root folder as read-only, all your work is secure. But then, this is only my theory.

I've just had a thought. Since Rosita's problem isn't unique, I've decided to share this link with everyone.

I think Freehold would get along with my Russian assistant. I had to drive somewhere with her. The temperature was in the teens and as I sat shivering in the passenger seat I asked if I could turn the heat on. She said no it was "too hot". And sure enough she drove the entire way looking completely comfy and relaxed in 17 degree weather and no heat on.

I will get my revenge... I think I mentioned a certain truck with no air or vents. I just have to make up some reason to get her on that truck this summer.

Ergo, Freehold is Russian.

And make sure that the power windows don't work so well. Bring the windows down a little, replace the window fuse with a burned-out one. Tell her that the parts are on order. :)

It's an armored metal box, the windows are not designed to be opened.

Edit: and since it is used to transport money she will of course be required to wear body armor.

Our dog is surprisingly enjoying the snow. However, she hears snow phantoms or something, because she's barking at nothing apparently (or at least nothing I can hear).

It's, like, so cold, here in Florida, you guys! It's, like, 40 degrees! Two whole days ago! Surely Freehold can enjoy this place, now that it has joined the arctic wonderlands of places like New York or wherever it is that the bottom layer er, eighth layer, uh, state that CY is in!

Also, so daggum tired...

EDIT: Ah, coding...

Well, it's nearly 11:30. So I'm heading off to work. Today, while watching my portable AMV collection, I'll design some ships using the SciFi20 design rules. SciFi20 is the campaign neutral version of the old D20 Traveller rules set. Have a good day, everyone. :)

P.S. Maybe also some versions of Powered Armor. :) :) :)
