Can I just take a moment to say how excited I am to see Pathfinder Player Companion: Martial Arts Handbook finally hit bookshelves and digital downloads from paizo.com as a PDF? I am quite excited! This is the book that I've been waiting years to see and it's finally here!

Martial Arts Handbook provides new options for all characters that focus on martial forms of combat. While your first thought might be the likes of monks and brawlers, most any kind of character that uses strength, agility, or guile on the battlefield will find useful options in this book. The book features a number of options inspired both by real world fighting styles and previously established lore in Golarion. This includes the likes of the battle dancer, inspired by capoeira, and the Chu Ye enforcer, vigilantes that wearer dreaded oni masks to oppress the humans of Chu Ye.

In addition to providing martial options for several classes, including some unlikely classes like the medium of the master, we also expand on existing techniques already available to character. This means there are several new style feats, weapon tricks, and feats to grant you more options with your combat maneuvers. There are new techniques in this book, too! One of my favorites are the new combination techniques that grant you bonuses for successfully attacking the same target during a round. Throw in some signature moves and new equipment and this book becomes something you don't want to miss!

If you've been looking for a chance to improve your character's fighting style or just want a new way to hit a baddie, make sure to pick up Martial Arts Handbook!

Oh this should be perfect for the Rawk Hawk in my S&S game.

As excited as I am for all this, it's a shame it's all going to be irrelevant once PF2 drops.

Yeah whatever I'm still playing 1E.

Only if you won't ever play PF1E again... Which would be strange, right?

I myself am curious to see the Golarion inspired martial arts and if there's anything new for rangers.

Assuming people are going to make the change. I'm passing on 4th edition 2.0 and sticking with my Pathfinder.

Did you play 4th Edition? PF2 is way better than 4th edition and it's only in Beta right now.

This was so much fun to work on; thanks for the opportunity, Luis!

I'm still really excited about it, and plan to run a martial arts PBP once everyone's got their hands on the book.

Gentle reminder that this isn't the place to talk about editions of Pathfinder or other games. Let's focus on the product at hand.

As someone who loves unarmed fighting in my RPGs and has two high-level (17+) PFS seekers who are mostly monks, I am hella excited about the book. At the same time, I wonder how many times I'm going to thing along the lines of "if only this was available when my character was active.." while reading the book.
Time to roll up a new monk in some AP or module I guess.

The fact that there is a Luchador means that we may finally realize my dream of a World Wrestling Faction in PFS. Can someone please stat Vince McMahon as a gnome?

Ronda Rousey-Half Elven?
Charlotte Flair the Fighter?
Randy Orton RKOing a Dragon outta nowhere?
Becky Lynch straight Fire Magus?
Hulk Half-Orcen?

You could already do lucha fairly well with an avenger vigilante. But I'm still interested to see what else they did with the lucha theme.

That Luchador picture is next to the description of the Lifting Hand archetype for the Monk and Unchained Monk classes. This archetype makes no mention of a mask but does offer bonus feats that let the Monk pull off some powerful wrestling maneuvers.

Sovereign Court

Is this an Arcadian Couatl style Luchadore?!?! Vrock on!

You can still wear a mask if you want to -- you just get no mechanical benefits for doing so.

The wrestling-style grapple feats might work out well for El Diablo.

I really want to see if I can convince a GM to let me combine Fiend Keeper and Medium of the Master so I can play a character suffering under the cruel tutelage of a disembodied fiendish Pai Mei, and is regularly possessed by ol' white eyebrows.

I figure technically they don't stack because they both modify spirit but I figure the way in which they modify it *should* work together. Medium of the Master says you can only channel one spirit, and Fiend Keeper indicates the spirit you channel is evil (and that being able to channel all six spirits just represent different aspects of the personality.)

You wouldn't perhaps have read Master of Devils by Dave Gross would you?

Liberty's Edge

This book is full of goodness and I really do not understand how we could game without it. I wish it would have been available years earlier
