Kahwen is just as impressed as the others with the abilities of his companions. But their opponent is proving highly unkillable so it is time for him to contribute.
He darts behind the other Pathfinders then past the creature, slashing as he goes. Using Spring Attack to avoid AoO.

If the target is subject to sneak attack damage I'll also apply the Disoriented Debilitating injury, so it gets -2 to attack rolls for 1 round and a -6 to attack rolls against Kahwen. If it's subject to bleed damage, it's also bleeding 6.

WIL vs DC 28: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 no bonus added from either warrior in my roll... and then it doesn't matter since the creature is now dead.
Galandaro is shaken by the creature until the mighty Omrax destroys it and eventually the fear wears off.
"Well placed blow." the arcane elf says to the paladin and bows his head in respect. He then runs over to Svetlana.
I believe we need a Restoration spell for the negative level. Galandaro cannot cast that spell as an arcanist. I think that is Cleric/Shaman/Warpriest spell list. If we do not have the ability to do so immediately then Galandaro can provide Svetlana with Soul Stimulant which will negate the level loss for 12 hours. might give us an opportunity to have the Hellknight at full power until we rest and memorize restoration. It is an option.
"We should take the armor and weapon with us. If they can be used in our mission then so be it. If not then we can return them to their rightful owner or at least to the rightful clan if the owner is no longer among us."

"Well done, friends. That creature was quite... frightening. Not to mention, very formidable."
After congratulations he notices Svetlana's sunken eyes and palid skin.
"Svetlana, you don't look very well. Can any one help?"
"That there must be the skull of Borsaget" he says as he motions at the skull with the metal plate.
"That one dwarf earlier, Krali, mentioned that addressing the skull firmly and
respectfully might awaken Borsaget and secure her aid. Maybe it can help Svetlana."

The relevant monster ability is energy drain, so in 24 hours Svetlana will need to make a fortitude save (and a rather difficult one). If the save is made, she recovers; if not, the negative level becomes permanent. I expect the scenario will probably be over before 24 hours in game, so there is the issue of penalties for the negative level for the rest of the scenario and also the issue of dealing with this after the scenario is over.

Will: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Kahwen recoils in fear at the savage violence of the undead creature and is plainly relieved as the stalwart Omrax vanquishes it.
He has little that can help Svetlana and is only relieved that more of them did not suffer from its vitality draining touch.
But, one of the objects of their quest is at hand so he respectfully lifts what can only be Borsaget's skull. Holding it in his left hand, he bows low, sweeping his hat off his head and holding it over his heart.
"We bid you greetings and honor, mighty Borsaget. And we humbly entreat you to aid us in our quest to reclaim this place from the wicked forces that have claimed it," he intones.

Helgar nods at Omrax's comments.
"It is a simple prayer to prevent your injuries from becoming permanent. I can deal with it in the morning."
Helgar has the diamond dust on hand but not the Restoration spell prepared. He can take care of your temporary level drain in the early morning before it can become permanent.

If we do not have the ability to do so immediately then Galandaro can provide Svetlana with Soul Stimulant which will negate the level loss for 12 hours.
Sounds like the way forward, thank you!
Svetlana gives a light whoop of joy as Omrax’s decisive blow lands true, and tears the creature from this realm. She’s clearly invigorated by the moment and relishing the violent cleansing, but as the last of the beast crumples, she staggers slightly, catching herself.
"That creature has sapped me somewhat. I'm still fit for battle just not at full efficiency," she admits with a grin that doesn’t quite hide her fatigue "I thank you for the elixir"

![]() |

Svetlana meets Galandaro’s gaze for a long moment before holding forth the silver wayfinder. With a soft click, she opens it to reveal a tiny, hand-painted cameo of a gallant paladin in shining armour bearing the symbol of Iomedae. Beneath the portrait is a single word: Oti.
The Hellknight grins a bittersweet grin at her jest as her hand drifts towards her wayfinder, and the picture of her lost love - the Iomedite paladin that Omrax's puissant skill at arms and chivalrous nature remind her of, Otiohon. "Whatever happened to you? It should have been us battling side by side in places like this." she murmurs softly.
"Thank you for your kindness Omrax, you just remind me of a great man I once knew"

![]() |

Omrax nods in understanding.
”I suspected something along those lines. I am sorry for thy loss.
I have only traveled on a mission once before with another paladin. Lady Hania of the order of Shelyn.
Early in my career I was frequently sent on missions with a priestess of Calistria. Ironically, she took great delight in leading me into awkward or conflicted situations. A true test of my resolve she was. Alas, I have not heard from Lady Luislia in years. “

"I might be mistaken but it appears Kahwen and this new-found skull have some sort of communication goin on. Are you able to communicate with it our feathered friend?" Galandaro observes and reports to the others. "Will it speak to others as well?"

![]() |

Svetlana laughs jovially at the audacity of the skull "Yes, quite the view indeed" she continues "Borsaget, we seek to free this place from an evil that infests it - what assistance can you give us to drive the stench of corruption from this place?"

![]() |

Kahwen almost drops the skull in surprise when it begins to speak. He is not fond of the undead and wasn't at all sure that the skull would actually awaken.
After fumbling with it for a moment, he secures his grip then adds to the conversation.
A dwarf named, whose grandmother, Urtilgi, was one of the ossuary’s caretakers spoke of the ossuary’s builders, including you. She told us how to find you and ask for your assistance. It seems as though one of the people who constructed the place will know it better than anyone else so we humbly request your guidance in navigating this place and warning us of the traps and dangers you and your fellow builders created for it."

![]() |

"Calm thy nerves Kahwen. With our vast experiences a talking skull is one of the least things that should bother you." Galandaro then turns his attention to the skull. "Noble Svetlana poses some good question. Borsaget do you know any hazards we may face as we continue or the number of enemies we shall face, or their capabilities? Any information you provide us will greatly enhance our ability to protect the local dwarven clan."

GM Redelia |

Borsaget describes the general layout of the rest of the ossuary (map revealed). She also tells you about a bridge that only allows dwarves or those who appear to be dwarves to pass over it, although anyone could teleport or fly across. She can't tell you what enemies you might face, because they were not part of the original plans.
She also describes the runeplates that protected the ossuary, but which appear to have been removed (that explains the four gouges on the wall). She emphasizes that it is very important to restore the runeplates, but that if you find them, they will help protect the bearer of them against some kinds of magic. She seems to be expecting that you will hold onto those runeplates until you remove the evil influence and then restore them.
You may ask any other questions you have, and also each make a perception check.

"It's still unusual," Kahwen mutters in response to Galandaro. It doesn't help that the skull is more saucy wench than matronly grandmother. Though, he's pleased she's not insidious witch. Being a Pathfinder has made Kahwen paranoid, so he's always looking around.

Wedged behind a limestone formation in the middle of the west wall, you see a masterwork backpack. It contains a full waterskin, 5 days of trail rations, and a small silver locket containing the illusory image of a smiling Keleshite woman in her early 20s. Inside is a tiny inscription that reads, “Remember: no night so dark that Sarenrae cannot fill it with light.” The pack also contains one of the missing runeplates.
A knowledge:religion or spellcraft check might reveal more about this runeplate.

![]() |

Galandaro looks over the runeplate... "Well this is a bit odd..." he muses to no one in particular then tilts his head slightly as he ponders what it all means... Spellcraft: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (18) + 25 = 43

![]() |

Kahwen always likes to see bright, shiny things, so the locket immediately catches his attention.
He droops a little bit as he sees the contents and realizes the ramifications.
"This should be returned," he says and tucks it away in one of the oversized pockets of his coat.
Then, he turns his attention to the clever fellows examining the runeplate.

GM Redelia |

The runeplate’s power is greatest when affixed to a Magrimite holy site, at which point it provides a host of magical defenses against supernatural intruders and those who would consume souls. When carried by a nonevil creature, the Chasarad grants that creature a +4 bonus on saving throws against death and paralysis effects. If the creature is also a dwarf or has the Hero of the Five Kings boon, the runeplate also increases their effective Constitution score by 20 for the purpose of determining when she would die due to hit point damage. If the creature’s alignment is lawful neutral, they can also be revived by breath of life so long as it is cast within 3 rounds (rather than just 1 round).

"It seems attracted to you Jaervahn. Most likely something in your past may have left an in-print on your aura that it detects. Maybe you should hold onto it until a better option becomes available." Galandaro says to the group. "Everyone have everything they need?"

![]() |

The moment Jaervahn’s fingers closed around the runeplate, a deep, sonorous pulse thrummed through his bones. It was as if the heartbeat of the mountains themselves joined his own, steady and eternal. Every breath came easier, fuller, and the weariness of countless battles slipped away like snow under spring sun. A quiet certainty settled within — no blade, no curse, no dark thing hungering for his soul could snuff out his flame while the strength of the Five Kings burned in his veins.
"Incredible. I feel... Healthy. More hardy. I shall hold on to this runeplate for the time being. If there are no objections, of course."

Omrax smiles as the runeplate attunes to Jaervahn's personality.
”Aye. I am likewise ready to continue if all thy questions have been answered.“
