'Intriguing. Probably one the signet is authenticated and our patron graciously pays us and then hopefully does his due diligence to make sure his claims are correct" Anton says with a smile on a face that seems to show the right hint of wisdom.

Igneous Slag |

Igneous Slag wrote:"And you believe the signet will prove your heritage? Do you have allies should the King prove reluctant to abdicate based on this evidence?""It's one piece of evidence I need before gathering allies," explains Jerem.
Igneous bobs his head in understanding, "This is quite the monumental task. Certainly such a long journey must start with the first step. I, and it looks like those who have come with us to the room are interested in helping, or at least interested in the gold anyway.
I do believe that Maia made an excellent point downstairs. We six should collectively agree to split this amount if we are all to face such dangers and return this signet as a group. I have been in the surrounding area quite a bit in my time with the League of Lightning Mercenary Company and the graveyard is connected to a hotbed of rumors involving the undead so those dangers may be fatal. We will need to trust each other, to the extent six strangers can trust each other anyhow.
Based on the dangers Lord del Thane, have you access to any weapons that can aid us in fighting the undead or are we simply assuming the risks involved and will have to rely on our own gear to see us through?"

Lizbit Freewind |

"Well nobody needs to worry as long as they're with me or Handsome, as we are experts in matters such as this." Lizbit assures the others. While she is not so sure about the mans talk of overthrowing the current monarchy - indeed she thinks it a rather silly goal - she is otherwise attracted to the proposition. So often were works of art left to the dead and forgotten about.

"I don't," he says matter-of-factly.

Angoldil Luithoriel |

"I think we need a holy person. Is there one amounst us?" All at once she felt the longing for a personal connection to Corellon. "My talents in the Art might be of use, but they don't extend to the realm of the undead."

Anton Black |

"I am a member of a militant order of Priests, the Scarlet Mummers. We protect the devout of Lliira. Though my skills with undead are not as drilled as a true priest, I can do a fair amount of magic given a chance to prepare my miracles." Anton admits pulling out his holy symbol and letting it dangle now that they could see.

Lizbit Freewind |

"I already said I'm an expert in such things as this!" Lizbit reminds Angoldil.

Lizbit Freewind |

"It's his crypt, after all. No one is going to complain if he explores his own property." Some people are just so paranoid!

Anton Black |

" True and like any diligent noble, he probably paid the good church the proper wards versus Grave robbing and Undead. Though if need be I would assume between my training and subsequently the lovely and confident Sunite we should be able to manage with our combined effort the likes of common undead, should they arise!" He said ensing on a pun.

Lizbit Freewind |

"That's exactly what I was thinking, Anton! What was it you said you did for a living?"
I meant to have Lizbit mention something about the lord's family probably having some kind of standard wards against undeath but I forgot, so thanks for bringing that up :P

Maia Blackwing |

"I agree to your deal too," Maia offers, even as the conversation turns back to people's capabilities. Seeing that most of her companions don't mind openly discussing their strengths in front of their employer, she hesitantly adds, "I can sneak by most people... but I don't know how helpful that'll be against ghouls and the like- I hear they can smell living things a hundred yards out. And, I don't know anything about magic wards or whatever but I'm pretty handy with locks... and even some mechanical traps... if there's anything like that down there..."

Anton Black |

" Why my dear I follow the Lady of Joy, I am a Scarlet Mummer. A priest who focuses on protecting and defending the faithful" He says with a flourish.
" Though I am a Juggler, Comedian, Clown and Dancer wherever I can" He says with a smile and wink.
" Ah looks like we have a most dutiful scout. I eill count on you to keep those traps disarmed and eyes peeled for anything," The priest says once again being his smiling self.

Angoldil Luithoriel |

"Good. It will benefit us to have the gods favor" Angoldil wished she had taken a holy symbol with her. Perhaps I will buy one with my share. If I survive that is.

Angoldil Luithoriel |

Once again Angoldil reaches into her pocket. She fiddles with the last silver coin she has. Hoping she will survive this and gain the money to help her regain her memory.

Igneous Slag |

"I suppose the last question is, are we getting some of the gold up front so that we can acquire gear if we believe we need to beforehand, with the balance when we return with the ring?"

Lizbit Freewind |

"And how might we find you when we're done, by the by?"

Igneous Slag |

"And how might we find you when we're done, by the by?"
Igneous grimaces, "Yes, that is indeed an excellent question!"

Igneous Slag |

"You can find me at my manor house, here," says Jerem, pointing to a certain building on the map that's outside Arrabar.
Ingeous nods, "So now it's just a matter of down payment, from there we can shop if needed and then head out to retrieve your signet ring".

Igneous nods, "I suppose that will do".
He turns to his new companions, "Besides pocketing a few coins friends, I think it might be wise to seek to donate some of these funds to a local church for spiritual protection from the Undead, just in case. Holy Water at the very least".

Angoldil Luithoriel |

"Agreed. But which church? I'm unfamiliar with this cities temples. I will defer to the rest of you in that matter." She loos at the others "Are there any more questions?"

Igneous Slag |

" We're less of a group and more a collection of confederates. I'd say let's make the Eldest among us the leader, i'd wager that's Angoldil".

Maia Blackwing |

"Even confederates seems strong..." Maia quietly mutters with more concern than she meant to voice.
now we're a group, huh? this seems to be moving awful fast... still, I don't want to be the one to jinx this job... he's willing to give us a hundred gold before we even start... that's incredible... we better close this deal... and the elf seems like as good an option as any other...
Straightening herself out a bit, and clearing her throat, she declares as professionally as she can manage, "Yes, Miss Angoldil is our leader. She can take care of whatever paperwork is necessary. And, is there any issues with timing we need to know about or could we take the down payment shopping and then head straight there?"

Angoldil Luithoriel |

"I don't know about being leader. I might be the oldest, but I'm barely an adult, only one hundred and twenty eight. Surly, someone else here has more experience." Angoldil pauses slightly
"I would ask a few other things. Is there anyone who would try to stop us? Can you describe the ring so we know we have the right one? Is there anything you know is present that's not marked on the plans?" She looks over the vellum.
looking up again she continues "To the priests in our company what should we know about the dead?"
Done with her questions she says "I do believe at least one vial of holy water would be prudent. Like Igneous suggested we should get it from the church of Lathandar. Maybe even get permission to return if we need additional services. Then set out before we lose the day. What say you all?"

Jerem responds with, "It's a ring fashioned in the shape of two dragons, encircling the sign of my family crest. It is buried with my grandfather. Just hope tomb robbers didn't break in. As for someone else looking for the ring, that would be my second cousin Engil. He too wants the ring for his own device."
He then thinks and says, "A band of Heucuva are in the area, so be careful of those."

Maia Blackwing |

"I don't know what a heckova is, but holy water sounds like a good idea," Maia offers. "And, maybe an alchemist's fire? I heard a story about a grave r... explorer who got completely eaten by a swarm of beetles and his friends only escaped by blocking a tunnel with fire."
She looks down at her hand for a moment, her fingers twitching in turn, then adds, "Plus, thirty gold is a lot easier to split six ways than fifty."

"I don't know what a heckova is either.
I've a few vials of alchemist fire Maia, but one more can't hurt and your right, making the math easier is always welcome. Great idea".

Lizbit Freewind |

Lizbit takes one of Angoldil's hands with both of hers and gives a firm, warm squeeze. "Don't worry! This is pretty much what a do for a living. I won't let you go astray." She beams and turns to their patron. "Mister del Thane, is there anything else in the crypt we should be on watch for? Records or family trees or..."
I'm cool with buying holy water and moving on or whatevs'. Is there a roll to identify Heucuvas?
Know: Dungeoneering or Religion if it applies (Heucuvas): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Both can apply.
What you know of them is that a Heucuva is an undead who used to be a priest or european monk. They profaned their position at the temple, and they rose as undead. They set up profane mockeries of the chapels they used to attend.

Lizbit Freewind |

"Heucuva are fallen priests that were turned undead. Lizbit says matter-of-factly. "I wonder if being priests means they have magic? I think I'll see if I can find a holy weapon balm to buy. Juuuust in case."

"Mmmm, that would eat up the last of our deposit funds but I suppose we cannot spend the rest if we do not live through the task".

Maia Blackwing |

”How big is the crypt?” Maia asks at the mention of using up the last of their down payment. “We’re not gonna need to buy rations or water skins, are we?”
I don’t even have a bedroll or anything… I don’t mind sleeping on a pile of leaves, or even just softer earth, but on a stone floor, with undead wandering around, does not sound like a good time…

Anton Black |

'True, we should just invest in holy water, maybe a Asperguillum"He says tapping his chin with a ball.
"It sprinkles holy water on things to bless them. It could be good to literally shake a stick at the Undead and watch them recoil."

Igneous grins, "Another great idea, would we have to buy one from a church directly? I don't think we'd find that in the general supply store shelf".
