Thank you. I'll bring it back in three hours
She hops into a a luxurious vehicle which drives off.

Do you plan to wait three hours or go report to Ethel?
| Pon. |
"I'll stay and wait. I have a hunch that they are going to alter the information and then return it so that we hand Ethel the altered information. It does not take 3 hours to copy information on a datapad. If we can get evidence that High Marshall Taviss is attempting to fabricate historical information, that would be very useful to Ethel. I also have a recording of that duo with the halfling admitting to working for Chancellor Serevig." Pon gives a devious smile, "That is why I bought 3 datapads. The people here are playing games. But they are so bad at it. This is just fun."

Domakale blinks and will agree to separate the party. She doesn't think that the giants will attack the Society directly, so perhaps Twich and she should go and deliver the unaltered data to Ethel.

Blinky is happy to support whichever way the decisions go.

So you split the party. Pon gets his datapad back, and needs to make a computers check. Still after reuniting with the party and comparing that datapad to the original, you can easily determine that plenty of changes have been made to the data; notably, all information that could paint cloud giants or the Cloud Imperium in a poor light has been altered. The cloud giant researchers were all changed to stone or storm giants, the fatal experiments are now noted as causing illness, all subjects are noted as volunteers, and the research facility is now a maintenance facility that worked openly to improve the storm engines at the behest of a storm giant official. You additionally notice that the numerical data gathered by the scientists now is dangerously high and likely would’ve caused major power blowouts and outages—events which could be argued as being a cause for the catastrophic failure of Talgradur’s aerial engines, which caused the fall of Talgradur.
Elthel commends you for your hard work and dedication and promises to further lobby on behalf of the Starfinder Society. Furthermore, she asks you to return in the future, as she suspects she has some “independent work” that she believes they’d be suited for.
Elthel appears grim yet resolute, saying that she had feared something foul was occurring in Talgradur. She asks you to keep this information quiet for a week while she ensures the data is duplicated and properly stored to prevent foul play.
When she hears about the duplication of the data Elthel lets out a dry cackle, remarking, Impressive! I wasn’t aware you Starfinders were so canny. I should be able to take them down a peg with this. Perhaps they’ll have second thoughts before trying to oppose me in the future.

Domakale will agree to holding off the story for a week, in return for an exclusive interview.
| Pon. |
Pon smirks, "If you do chat with them about their duplicity, please inform them that it was not our original intent to foil their efforts. They just made it very easy to accomplish as we went about our assigned mission. "

Ethel chuckles at Pon's reply.
We're at wrap up stage so you may as well roll day jobs etc.

Profession Archaeologist 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24
Blinky summarises his notes of his experience in the land of the giants, but noting how much he CAN'T talk about, it offers very few credits as a reward...

Profession Journalist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
It turns out the market for articles for Giant politics back on Castrovel is thin.

Back at the Lorespire Complex, First Seeker Ehu Hadif thanks you for your efforts and asks about your exploration. Ehu is proud of your discoveries, noting that “even the darkest parts of history must be brought to light.” Naiaj, on the other hand, is worried, sarcastically retorting, “Yeah, I’m sure that digging up the dirty secrets of a planet’s government won’t cause us any problems.”
Ehu suggests that you get some rest, as he senses big changes are on the horizon.
You complete both your Primary and Secondary Objectives as well as earning an additional reputation point with the Second Seeker(EH) faction.
Will report and issue Chronicles in the next day or so.
