[Outpost VIII] GM Chadius 3-03: Echoes of Desperation

Game Master chadius

With the ringing of the cold iron bell, an ominous ripple of shadows and distant, unearthly screams reverberates throughout the jungle. With each strike, the screams grow clearer, and the jungle’s sounds grow fainter. The shadows coalesce like fog along the water, creating a river of darkness.

Finally, they emerge. Small green humanoids, yipping and yapping with sharp teeth and sharper spears. "Begin the feast!" One of them yells. "Who are these? Haha! More food? River Sentinels, you shouldn't have!"

They pounce.

They are startled when Fjorn seems to emerge from a rock. "Look at the belly on that one! Lots of fat- WHOA!"

"Look! It's a bird! Never seen that one before..." The biloko with Red paint is distracted long enough for Meadow to emerge and almost kill her with a single shot. "Ah! Another one! An elf this time!"

It's this moment the bilokos realize they are surrounded.

Basag starts to move as the longspear holders watch him, waiting to drop his guard. But he doesn't and clobbers one of them.

After a moment's thought she retracts her comment. "Erm...actually you're right. I probably would taste terrible. You should run away and get something else to eat."

If Meadow hit green then Silence's support action goes into effect. Green is dazzled and bleeding 1d4. The order of my turn was Meadow's command, Silence's action, Meadow's shots, Meadow's movement. I was trying something new and posted Silence's actions after in order to avoid posting a third time. Sorry if that was confusing. I'll go back to interrupting Meadow's turn for Silence's actions in the future. The dazzled effect would not affect the reactive strike against Silence.

Can Maneki occupy the same space as Silence?

No. Silence's size is medium and even though he is flying he is at ground level in order to provide flanking.

With the biloko distracted by Silence, and Fjorn's bile sickening him, he is unable to guard himself against Fjorn's axe. It's a critical strike, but Fjorn traded power for accuracy.

Maneki is thankful for the assistance as the flames from her hands fly overhead and miss the mark entirely.

Maneki fires an arrow but the Green biloko ducks to the side at the last moment.

He isn't as lucky against Meadow. The first shot digs in, but the second one finds a critical weakpoint and pins him against the treeline. He slumps over, unable to apologize to Silence.

Meadow switches to her rapier and moves to fight the last biloko, braving his longspear as she approaches.

I'm sorry" winking at him.

Basag opens his eyes. The last thing he remembers is his shield smashed to pieces, as well as him being bitten. That's just a few seconds ago. He finds himself next to the alchemist, who instructs him to get up. Looking at his shield, anger swells in him.

"Thanks!" He stands up and nods at Fjorn. He then draws his huge fork and a pan.
