I will be playing a pregen in this game, so I'm open to suggestions as to which one will best complement the characters everyone is bringing. It looks like we have two front liners and a divine caster, so would an arcane caster make sense?
Yeah, those, or possibly the bard or investigator, help round out our recall knowledges.

plus one to hepcuts words Soguchi is good on knowledges and whispers of weakness will give us something but choice is yours

GM Valen |

I have not played enough PF2 to remember the details, but I think my campaign service coin increases the hero points available to the group in some way.
Correct. When you use the campaign service coin, you gain a bonus Hero Point at the beginning of the adventure. In addition to the normal powers of a Hero Point, you can spend this special Hero Point to allow another player to reroll a check.
GM, how much do you want the profile and header filled out for a pregen?
It is helpful to AC, HP, and saves in the header so that I don't need to click away from the page to adjudicate a bad guy's attacks in combat (or to roll party saves when it makes sense to do so rather than slow down the game). I also ask that you provide certain other requested modifiers on this Slide..
I likely won't look at the profile at all during the game, although if you had a link to the character sheet in the profile or header that might be handy for quick access to stats should either of us need them.

So who should we address and who to make rolls?

![]() |

Although I think speaking to the son might be easier Soguchi's instincts are to speak to the elders first and ask their permission to search for clues that might lead to the recovery of the maid. But then again his instincts are to let the more polite lead the way

![]() |

Yeah, maybe have Seoni with her high diplomacy to get the elders's permission, and then go from there?

tempted to hero point that medicine roll but I dont like hero pointing when I know the dc

I tend to include the DC in instances when I think it will make the game run more quickly and smoothly.
The choice when to use a Hero Point is, of course, yours. However, the player gets to know the result before using a Hero Point for a reroll. Therefore, even if the DC had not been listed, you still would have known that you rolled a 4 and that a 15 was a failure.
I can find no impropriety in using a Hero Point on the Medicine roll under the circumstances.

Are pathfinder hand signals to share insights a thing If so Soguchi will use them otherwise I dont want to be putting Egevni on the spot in front of his parents

I don't know for sure, but some nonverbal communication training makes sense. Regardless, I am fine with the Pathfinders taking Egveni out of earshot of his parents if you wish. The adventure describes the three initially all together at the house, but elsewhere in the adventure it appears the idea is that they would each be questioned alone. If you want, say, take Evgeni into the kitchen he will cooperate.

I am fine with remastered read Aura Soguchi is slowly coming to terms with being remastered oracle and thinks hes been listening to his crazy ancestors for too long!

GM Valen |

rules question (I'm happy to look it up myself if someone tells me what terms to search for or read it if someone gives me a page reference):
Is it possible to use a higher level spell slot to cast a lower level spell?
Yes. "As a spontaneous caster, you can also choose to cast a lower-rank spell using a higher-rank spell slot without heightening it or knowing it at a higher rank. This casts the spell at the rank you know the spell, not the rank of the higher slot. The spell doesn't have any heightened effects, so it's usually not a very efficient use of your magic outside of highly specific circumstances."

Away 16-26. Will try to keep up. If not bot me. She'll K blast enemies and fresh produce to heal.

It is a successful Tumble! And a crit success! Unfortunately, it is immune to precision damage and resist physical damage.
What was the crit success? My attack? If so, shouldn't purple have more damage (even with the resistance to physical damage?) Or is it immune to critical hits as well as precision damage?

Yes, the attack was a crit success. Yes, purple should have more damage. The damage tracker should not be correct.

* the moot discussion since spell attack was a 1
Flaming star (the item from which I am casting produce flame/ignition
according to archives of Nethys only allows base spell attack of +7 spell dc17. The generic spellheart rules says you use your own spellatack
In any event the power is just a second rank cantrip as it is a rank 3 item
There is a reason I just keep it attached to my armour to give +2 fire resist with a rarely useful fire spell

Thanks for running Soguchi is done with rp just wants to go home.
With the ancestor curse now making him clumsy and thus lowering his ac this oracle monk is beginning to feel stuck in no mans land as I was leaning in to the melee/skill spell style but now melee feels dangerous due to the lower ac.

Thanks for running. That last combat was a toughie!

GM, am I understanding things correctly that when playing a higher level pregen, I can get a chronicle to apply to a level 1 character, rather than holding the chronicle until the character gets to level 4? If so, I would like to do that. (the information I provided at the beginning is for a level 1 character)

GM Valen |

Pregen Chronicles assigned to a brand new or 1st-level character can be applied immediately to the character at 1st level or held until the character reaches the pregen's level. Chronicles assigned to a character above level 1 must be held until the character reaches the pregen's level.
Pregen Chronicles applied to 1st-level characters gain the following limitations:
Award Treasure Bundles/gold as if the earning character was 1st level.
Characters do not benefit from any Boons or item unlocks on the Chronicle until they reach the lowest level allowed to play the adventure.

The game has been reported.
Chronicle sheets can be downloaded here.
Please let me know of any revisions/corrections/additions.
Thank you all for playing! This was a colorful group of characters and fun to GM!
I will mark this campaign inactive once I have confirmation from each player or after one week, whichever occurs first.
I look forward to sharing a table with each of you in the future. Happy Gaming!
