Several of the Starfinders' array of foes are wounded, but few have been defeated!

Both of Kosigan's attacks hit Blue for half damage. Blue made the Fortitude save against the first bleed effect. (@Kosigan: It looks like adding the bleed effect is a reaction, so it can only trigger once a round?)

J'Shun's first attack hit Red for half damage, but the Cleave attack vs Yellow missed.

Shoulder-to-shoulder with his Summersword brother, Chorizal keeps up the onslaught on the undead morlamaws.

Cleaving so the second doesn't happen if the first doesn't hit. I have Defensive Striker so I don't take an AC penalty when cleaving.


The focus of Loki's anger screams in agony as the laser blast hits him dead center! Chorizal may be tiring--and his undead foes never will!

Loki's attack hits Green, who is now in single digit hp.

Chorizal's attack misses Red. (@Chorizal: Thanks for the note about Defensive Striker--that's a useful ability)

Rattus' slugthrower manages to penetrate the undead morlmaw's leathery hide--but just barely!

@Rattus: Sorry, I know this is probably annoying, but the issue with underwater combat vs the mummies is that after I halve the damage (for underwater combat) and then apply DR, your attack in this case only does 2 damage to Red.


"The Elder Gods will return--when the stars . . . and tides. . . are right!" shouts one of the cultists, swimming away at top speed! But the one cultist left behind continues, out of pure zealotry, to fight!

Green does a double move away, as does Gray (whom I've taken off the map but technically could still be attacked.

Blue does a full attack on Kosigan. Results: Both miss!

Yes, the bleed is a reaction. I rarely hit twice though.

Kosigan has its own problems with the blue foe, so keeps hammering.

Although J'Shun can't connect, a cloud of morlamaw blood hovers over the combatants as Kosigan's storm hammer hits a vital area!

Kosigan's first attack hits Blue for half damage, and it fails the Fortitude save so it now has the Bleed 1d6 condition. As a reaction, it uses Share Pain: Kosigan, you need to pass a DC 16 Will save vs a mind-affecting effect or take 6 damage.

J'Shun's attacks miss.

@J'Shun: Green didn't get close enough to provoke.

GM Dice:

Blue Fort save vs Bleed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12


Although one bleeding zealot remains fighting, the mummified morlamaws suddenly stop and return to their motionless, petrified forms!

The mummies return to their inert state three rounds after the ritual is disrupted by killing Farimther--although you technically got here *before* the ritual started (by only taking one rest), I think the scenario would expect me to maintain the same favorable advantage for you, and it has now been three rounds since Farimther was defeated.

Loki's modified blaster scorches one of the morlamaws so severely he throws his bleeding flippers up in the universal sign of surrender! Meanwhile, Rattus follows J'Shun's command and takes deadly aim at a fleeing cultist!

Loki's attack hits Blue, who is still alive but Morale condition has triggered surrender.

Rattus' attack hits Green--and takes him out! (good persistence, Rattus!)

With Blue surrendered (and bleeding--I'll keep rough track of rounds if you want to save them), Green dead, and Gray fled, we can go off Initiative.

Kosigan is not in a sharing mood. However, once the cultists surrender, it is not willing to kill them, and will try to help if anyone patches them up.

Not killing a surrendered foe was one thing, but trying to patch them up was something that never even occurred to Loki.

However, seeing Kosigan make an attempt, Loki tactfully steps in.

I have a broad understanding of comparative xenobiology. Let me handle it.

Working together, Loki and Kosigan manage to keep the cultist from bleeding to death. With the battle over and now a captive, the morlamaw adopts a far less hostile attitude. "Listen, we didn't really hurt anyone! I didn't really think the ritual would've worked, anyway. It was all Farimther's doing. He said having a Great Old One return to Arniselle would put us on the star-maps, instead of being just another forgotten water world . . ."

Loot:
The mummies don't have anything. Each of the cultists has an underwater advanced semi-auto pistol. Farimther has an underwater elite semi-auto pistol and a credstick with 21500(!) credits.

Well, *I* think a dead boss makes a convenient scapegoat to dump all of the responsibility upon... That said, it isn't a bad idea; you'll just have to convince the authorities of that, too...

He deactivates his borrowed cryopike and then just kind of...floats, feeling the weakness pulse through him.


With the ritual to summon an Old One stopped before it could even begin, the mission is a complete success. The return to Arniselle in the submersible proceeds uneventfully.

Venture-Captain Suulhu-Huur is pleased with the result. “Well, Starfinders, it’s a good thing you were there to stop that ritual from happening. Imagine what could have become of this whole planet. We aren’t out of trouble yet, though. Datch is up to something suspicious with that basalt. What are they using it to hide? I'll make sure samples of the mineral get to Zigvigix for Exo-Guardian researchers to investigate further . . .

Chorizal would make a subtly snarky comment about brewing coffee while underwater but the curse from the undead makes him feel undead, himself so he just gives a thumbs up.
