Four small beds of stone are positioned around the circumference of the room, standing only an inch or two above the floor. A few of them hold veiled bodies dressed in robes of white and gold.

Argoni recognizes the trio of undead as Cairn Wights. Their weapons can drain the life from their foes, and they can focus a moan to frighten their foes. Anyone slain by a Cairn Wight returns as a weakened one in less than a minute, and Cairn Wights themselves can lash out as a reaction when they are destroyed. No weakness to vitality or positive energy make them a bit annoying.
No resistances, either. Argoni tosses a bomb that bursts into lightning and throws the White-robed creature off guard. "Hey, watch the hat!" The Captain shouts.
Folmyr swallows his fear and flies into a rage, slicing through the Cairn Wight. Rendered off guard, his strike lands a critical blow. The Wight in White reacts, screaming in fury and swings once more at Folmyr before collapsing.

Cut in? Don't mind if I do.
It seems like they have this wight more or less surrounded.
It should be like shooting kelpies in a barrel...

Klank's sturdy shield has hardness 8 vs 5 so he and the shield should be at -3.
Fort Vs DC18: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Klank ignores the creature's attacks and continues with standard operating Dwarven infantry procedure: raise shield and double hammer smash. "Rest now angry spirits, I'm sure we can get you back to the boneyard."

Fort: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
The creature in Gold is still standing after Aerin's first strike, and is barely able to stand after his critical follow up.
Klank's critical opener takes care of that. The creature wails and swings once more as Klank's hammer finishes it off.
Longsword: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Slashing: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
He raises his shield to absorb some of the impact from Goldie's spiteful slash, and then wonders what to do next.
Endra's opening show grazes the creature but she isn't able to do much else. So Argoni finishes the creature off with a bomb. "Hey! I said watch the hat!" The Captain checks the hat for scratches and burns.

Now that the immediate danger has passed, you notice the writing on the walls is in Azlanti. It’s a rough copy of the writing you saw already.

"A short fight, but a fun one. Let's get back in fighting shape." He seems to be talking to his shield, pulling out some tools and getting to some repairs. Assurance DC19, Expert, should fix that shield up in 1 minute with quick repair.
"So some poor writing skills.. a forgery or maybe just someone more recently with less ability?" He adds in as Argoni starts slicing him up, somehow healing him.

Argoni goes to help Captain Barubary, but realizes the captain is undead. The medicine and salves won't help. "Aye laddie, I carry a vial of oil with me. One swing and the body will fix itself. Don't worry about me! Worry about what's up the stairs."
"Something's lashing out at the livin' in here. They keep ignoring me. Maybe I should go ahead first up the stairs, eh?"

This odd chamber has rough stone walls and single open doorway leading to a staircase to the south. It is brilliantly illuminated in reflected golden light whose source can only be the massive artifact embedded in the northern wall. The artifact resembles a single golden eye with stalks of radiance emitting in all directions from the eye. The entire object is made of gold, but shines as if recently polished.
Around the eye, a broken collection of tools, picks, and shovels lie haphazardly discarded on the floor. Each is in a state of disrepair, as if they were used to try to move or break an unbreakable mass.
You spot a ghoul grumbling as she tries to shove the eye. "Oh, great... What is it now, Baruaby? I'm bus-" She turns around and looks at you. "Great, the stink of the living. You didn't kill them yet?"
The Captain shakes his head. “See, Ghessa, this I’d never have thought—you were such a quiet and simple lass. But now these here Pathfinders will have to try to take you down. How much does Kaltestrua know? Has she already sent the Tyrant information on how to use the Maze?”
In response, Ghessa shoots the pirate a dark look. “Shut up, B. You’ve always talked too much, and now you’re spoiling the story for our guests. But since they know so much now, let’s give them the full picture.” She rips off an unassuming locket, transforming from her dreary ghoul form into a misshapen and horrifying kurobozu.
The Captain grumbles. "The name's Barnaby." He sighs readies his scimitar at you. "Well me guests, looks like I may be walkin' the plank for the last time. No way can I let you live and rat me out before I hit the high seas!"

Stratagem vs Ghessa: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Argoni finally sees the focus of his investigation, and then realizes he has two of them! "Really Captain? I mean, you knew we were closing in on her this whole time. And she can't even get your name right!" He can't get a great shot at Ghessa over the height of the others, so he moves to the side and then hurls a bottled lightning at the Captain. "Hey, you remember this, right?"

Argoni recognizes Ghessa as a kurobozu, an undead creature that can steal the breath from the living, and her very touch is toxic. She has no apparent weaknesses. As she is very unique for a kurobozu, the best Argoni can figure out is she is a talented martial artist. At least in theory as she almost stumbled on the stairs trying to hit them. She's definitely a follower of the Whispering Way.
Argoni also realizes Captain Barnaby isn't a follower, just another pawn who is in too deep.
"Aye, I remember this. I'll be smothered by Besmara's bosom soon..." The vial of lightning explodes in his face.

Piercing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Bite: 1d20 + 9 - 5 ⇒ (16) + 9 - 5 = 20
Piercing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The dog with the Purple collar is much more successful, taking two bites out of Folmyr while he is caught off guard and unprepared.
Bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Bite: 1d20 + 9 - 5 ⇒ (1) + 9 - 5 = 5
The White furred hound is unable to do much against Klank.
It is now that everyone notices the horrible stench coming from the rotting hounds. It's nauseating. Fort Saves for anyone within 10 feet of a Hound.
