As Neroo pays close attention to what is going on in the room, she realizes the whole chambre is one big illusion, a holographic image projected by...
Three VR units along the south wall crowd this room. To the north, a wall of monitors displays footage of every corner of the arcade. A screen shows thumbnails of the VR games in process. The west wall is a window looking out onto the main arcade floor and the east wall is inset with shelving units stacked with cardboard boxes.
What is that thing? Some grotesque flying saucer with several gaunt child-like figures visors sitting on it.
There are also three patrons in this room are wearing VR equipment attached to their heads and are mounted to the south wall, and they look to be hostile to the Starfinders.

Swift action to call Injector Pistol to my hand, move action to draw Arc pistol. Standard action to inject Xin-Da-Rik with a biohack to grant him +1 to AC.
GM, I'm not sure if Xin-Da-Rik still has hit point damage or not. Would Tavan have had a minute or two to Treat Deadly Wounds on Xin-Da-Rik before we investigated this area?
If we have time,
Heals 25 + patient's level or CR
At DC:25 heal 1 hp per level or CR of patient, + my level (Medical Specialist) + 2 times my Int mod (First Aid Expert Theorem)
Can use twice per day per patient with Med Lab (or Custom Microlab). Takes 1 minute (or a full round action with a medpatch or sprayflesh.)
I'd use this twice if Xin-Da-Rik needed the hp.
Xin-Da-Rik |
I'll rest. Interrogate him. And I will behead him. Xin-Da-Rik breathes deeply and somehow scary, like a predatory animal. However, he was not destined to rest this time...

@Dr. Tavan, thanks! But I only lost 1 hit point in the last battle - all the rest of the damage was in stamina.

I'll allow a minute for treating, but time was too short for a second treat or 10 min rest.

Xin-Da-Rik does not know what is going on, still seeing the strange grid in the back room.

Xin-Da-Rik, since our GM said he would allow one application of Treat deadly wounds, you would heal 39 hp. Since Tavan has the medic archetype, any surplus hit point healing will overflow and heal stamina. If you were only down 1 hp, you would heal that 1 hp and then also heal 38 stamina.

Can they still attack? I can make a chemical compound that will boost the neurotransmitters in your brain, which will...
Tavan pauses and realizes that he doesn't have time to explain,
...which should help you determine what is real.
Compucast |
Did the 21 make my will save or fail it? Or do I need to make another one?
DM Kludde |
The 21 was a failed save (for reference, the DC is 22), though there is some math that may change that. Every save after the first one comes with a -2 penalty (because of monster abilities) and a +4 bonus (because Neroo called out the illusion). I saw you modify your save by +2, which I assumed was +4-2, but if something else was intended, let me know.
Retcon time:
Tavan rolled 19, which with the +4 clears the save threshold.
Tavan has a moment of clarity, and manages to see through the holographic projection. Save from the falling blocks, he can clearly see his opponents now.

I also want to warn you that I have such a thing. What if someone starts running away?
- Perfect Opportunity (Ex): When you hit a creature with an attack of opportunity, that creature can’t move out of the squares you threaten until the start of its next turn. In addition, when an enemy takes a guarded step out of a square you threaten, you can make an attack of opportunity against it with a –2 penalty to the attack roll. If the target provoked an attack of opportunity by moving, hitting with your attack of opportunity ends the target’s movement immediately, preventing it from carrying out the rest of its movement.

As a move action, Tavan will scan the large creature with his custom microlab, which gives me a recall knowledge check as if I had rolled a 20. If the creature is alive, I would use Life Sciece, giving me a total result of 53 (50 if the creature is not alive and I have to use physical science). I would like to know: What IS it? Does it have any energy immunities or resistances. Does it have a weakness? After that I would like as many special abilities as my check allows please.
My standard action depends on whether Xin-Da-Rik makes his will save or not. If Xin-Da-Rik fails the save, Tavan will use

I like everything as a player! )) I rather wrote it to my comrades.
DM Kludde |
Dr Tavan has a good look, and recognises the creature by its greyish sheen, as an evil outsider.
Not a devil (doesn't smell of sulphur) or a demon (doesn't smell of brimstone), but a daemon (yugoloth in the old tongue), the unpredictable, neutral power brokers of the lower planes. (Much like you own DM Kludde! Daemons for the win!).
This particular is an Alorbidaemon, one thatfeeds on the life-force of unsuspecting victims by engaging them in fictional scenarios, gaining energy by feeding to the wild fantasy of the players, while keeping them engaged in an endless loop of games. (I plead the fifth)
Alorbidaemons are a more powerful version of Alucidaemon, 'loths created by the death of victims who neglected themselves while playing video games. Alorbidaemons look like the amalgamation of several Alucidaemons, each one of them seemingly engrossed in a virtual reality game, and together having the power to distort reality itself around it, providing deadly entertainment to unsuspecting victims.

As a standard action, Tavan will use his boost neurotransmitters ability on Compucast. As a move action he will activate the laser sight on his Arc pistol.
As a standard action, you can create and deliver a compound that causes a surge of cognitive activity. When injected into a creature, the formula grants the target a +4 enhancement bonus to saving throws against mind‑affecting effects for 1 minute. If the target is already subject to a mind-affecting effect, the target can immediately attempt a new saving throw with a +2 enhancement bonus against the effect. This does not grant a new saving throw if the effect did not originally allow one.
