Now that everybody is investigating, I'll need a will save for Benoit, Compucast and Xin as well

As Neroo pays close attention to what is going on in the room, she realizes the whole chambre is one big illusion, a holographic image projected by...

Neroo:

Three VR units along the south wall crowd this room. To the north, a wall of monitors displays footage of every corner of the arcade. A screen shows thumbnails of the VR games in process. The west wall is a window looking out onto the main arcade floor and the east wall is inset with shelving units stacked with cardboard boxes.

What is that thing? Some grotesque flying saucer with several gaunt child-like figures visors sitting on it.

There are also three patrons in this room are wearing VR equipment attached to their heads and are mounted to the south wall, and they look to be hostile to the Starfinders.

"What's going on???, he says, with a bit of panic in his voice.

Swift action to call Injector Pistol to my hand, move action to draw Arc pistol. Standard action to inject Xin-Da-Rik with a biohack to grant him +1 to AC.

GM, I'm not sure if Xin-Da-Rik still has hit point damage or not. Would Tavan have had a minute or two to Treat Deadly Wounds on Xin-Da-Rik before we investigated this area?

If we have time,

Treat Deadly Wounds:

Heals 25 + patient's level or CR
At DC:25 heal 1 hp per level or CR of patient, + my level (Medical Specialist) + 2 times my Int mod (First Aid Expert Theorem)

Can use twice per day per patient with Med Lab (or Custom Microlab). Takes 1 minute (or a full round action with a medpatch or sprayflesh.)

I'd use this twice if Xin-Da-Rik needed the hp.

@GM, I will wait with my move until the results of what happened to me. By the way, I have such a feat, suddenly now or later it will come in handy:

Steel Nerves:
You gain a +2 bonus to saving throws against fear effects. In addition, when you have the frightened condition, you can choose to fight rather than flee. When you have the panicked condition, you don’t drop what you’re holding.

@Dr. Tavan, thanks! But I only lost 1 hit point in the last battle - all the rest of the damage was in stamina.

I'll allow a minute for treating, but time was too short for a second treat or 10 min rest.

The will save is versus illusion

Xin-Da-Rik does not know what is going on, still seeing the strange grid in the back room.

If Neroo calls out the illusion, everyone gets another save. Those who already failed get a -2 for reasons

Xin-Da-Rik, since our GM said he would allow one application of Treat deadly wounds, you would heal 39 hp. Since Tavan has the medic archetype, any surplus hit point healing will overflow and heal stamina. If you were only down 1 hp, you would heal that 1 hp and then also heal 38 stamina.

Wow guys, are you sure you're not rolling d12s?

Xin-da-rik sees what Neroo is seeing: a floating platform with gaunt, child-like creatures wearing VR devices. The rest of the group sees a kind of shimmering holodeck, that features combinations of four cubes arranged in various comformations, falling from above to crush them.

If you made your save and succeed on DC 29 Computers, Perception, or Sense Motive check:
The patron in the VR headset look to be dominated, and follow the orders or whatever that floating thing is.

As a standard action, you can make a Computers, Engineering, or
Sleight of Hand next to a patron to disable the VR headset

If you've failed a save, you can still act, since you're aware you're in an illusion, you just fail to disbelieve it

The 21 was a failed save (for reference, the DC is 22), though there is some math that may change that. Every save after the first one comes with a -2 penalty (because of monster abilities) and a +4 bonus (because Neroo called out the illusion). I saw you modify your save by +2, which I assumed was +4-2, but if something else was intended, let me know.

Retcon time:
Tavan rolled 19, which with the +4 clears the save threshold.

Tavan has a moment of clarity, and manages to see through the holographic projection. Save from the falling blocks, he can clearly see his opponents now.

In addition, when an enemy takes a guarded step out of a square you threaten, you can make an attack of opportunity against it with a –2 penalty to the attack roll. If the target provoked an attack of opportunity by moving, hitting with your attack of opportunity ends the target’s movement immediately, preventing it from carrying out the rest of its movement.

Got you. By the way, as a player, it was also not clear to me that these "patrons" were not enemies. On art, they look almost like creatures on a platform, and I didn't open the spoiler because there my character has no suitable skills.

Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Will: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 2 = 25

Having overcome the desire to play arcade games with the support of the biohacker, Xin-Da-Rik continues to play his favorite game with freaks on the platform.

Called Longsword (Deadly Aim): 1d20 + 21 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 21 - 4 = 252d10 + 33 ⇒ (2, 8) + 33 = 43 - Slashing vs KAC
Called Longsword (Deadly Aim): 1d20 + 21 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 21 - 4 = 322d10 + 33 ⇒ (10, 6) + 33 = 49 - Slashing vs KAC

PS If the patron's attack was physical melee attack, then he should take damage:
Bone Spines: 4d4 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 2) = 11
Electrostatic Field: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6) = 14
Bleed: 1d3 ⇒ 2

I'm sorry if that wasn't clear to you. It's supposed to be a somewhat confusing encounter (because of the illusions), and it's supposed to be initially unclear if the patrons are 'true' enemies or not. The are attacking you, after all.

Katrina now manages to see through the ridiculous gaming illusions, the hovering platform clearly visible to her.

She still has a standard action to spend

Tavan helps out Xin, and Neroo's blast hits the underside of the Platform, doing little damage.

Benoit catches onto reality, and sees the gorilla for what it is: a figment of his imagination. also has a standard

Xin slashes twice, the first time hitting armor plating, but the second time cleavign straight through the child-like VR-headset wearing figures.

For Tavan: It's a mysticism check to identify this monster...

Second Seekers (Ehu Hadif)

Male NG Damaya Lashunta | Biohacker 13 (medic archetype) |Sta: 115/130 |Hp: 82/82|Rp: 10/12| Biohacks: 5/7 EAC 31 KAC 31 | F +13 | R +11 | W +10 | Init +7 | Perception +22| SM + 22

GM, biohackers get creature identification shenanigans. They can always use Life Science or Physical Science to identify a creature with their custom microlab.

Custom Microlab:
As long as you have your custom microlab, as a move action you can target a creature within your line of sight and within the microlab’s range (60 feet at 1st level) and attempt a special skill check to identify it. If the creature is living, this is a Life Science check. If it is unliving, it’s a Physical Science check. The DC of this check is determined by the creature’s rarity, as presented on the Creature Rarity table on page 133 of the Core Rulebook. You can attempt this check untrained regardless of the DC, and you always treat your die roll result as a 20.

Second Seekers (Luwazi Elsebo)

Now she can see what is going on Katrina tries to identify the monster.

Dr Tavan has a good look, and recognises the creature by its greyish sheen, as an evil outsider.

Ancient Unspeakable Truths on Daemons:

Not a devil (doesn't smell of sulphur) or a demon (doesn't smell of brimstone), but a daemon (yugoloth in the old tongue), the unpredictable, neutral power brokers of the lower planes. (Much like you own DM Kludde! Daemons for the win!).

This particular is an Alorbidaemon, one thatfeeds on the life-force of unsuspecting victims by engaging them in fictional scenarios, gaining energy by feeding to the wild fantasy of the players, while keeping them engaged in an endless loop of games. (I plead the fifth)

Alorbidaemons are a more powerful version of Alucidaemon, 'loths created by the death of victims who neglected themselves while playing video games. Alorbidaemons look like the amalgamation of several Alucidaemons, each one of them seemingly engrossed in a virtual reality game, and together having the power to distort reality itself around it, providing deadly entertainment to unsuspecting victims.

"What the bloody hell is that!"

Benoit comes to his senses and sees the strange creature for what it is. The hand cannon on the weapon mount of his armor swivels into position and then fires on the creature. As a standard action, Tavan will use his boost neurotransmitters ability on Compucast. As a move action he will activate the laser sight on his Arc pistol.

Boost Neurotransmitters:

As a standard action, you can create and deliver a compound that causes a surge of cognitive activity. When injected into a creature, the formula grants the target a +4 enhancement bonus to saving throws against mind‑affecting effects for 1 minute. If the target is already subject to a mind-affecting effect, the target can immediately attempt a new saving throw with a +2 enhancement bonus against the effect. This does not grant a new saving throw if the effect did not originally allow one.
