However, the knowledge is largely superfluous as the Elf goes down under blows from Truck, Haka and Hope. As the elf's corpse hits the ground, a grotesque pink, worm-like ... thing crawls out of its mouth and dies...

The sun is just starting to set as the Pathfinders coalesce onto a large patch of land behind a squat stone house. Venture-Captain Ciobanu takes in the sights and a deep breath before addressing the group. "For many years, I haven’t been sure I would ever see this place again. It was my home for a very long time, and one I loved dearly. No matter, you have done well getting us here, and now we should sleep. Tomorrow dawns a new day, one where we can start to get to the bottom of what is going on here."

Smoke obscures her view. Even Graeyson seems to be covered in smoke.

From the way the wolves begin yelping, it appears that they didn't do too well in avoiding the flash.

As the sun rises over the camp, the din of Pathfinders getting ready to start another day and the smell of a warm breakfast fills the air. As everyone is starting to eat their breakfast, Eando, Ciobanu, and Fola stand before the group. “As we head out today, we should continue to look for signs of an upcoming assault. With the information you’ve gathered, it’s clear that the one named Nathatel is readying an attack on the town, though we’re still somewhat unsure why.”
As Eando speaks to the group, one of the night scouts approaches Fola, whispering something in her ear. Looking alarmed, she quickly interrupts Eando. “Pathfinders, it’s worse than we feared! Nathatel’s forces are to be attempting to attack from the west. Go, now, stop them before they can breach the town!”
