Gunny: yes, right now everyone, the GJ too, are best up. That's why we landed in the frozen wasteland. We and them want to rearm and repair. We ain't gonna go nowhere until we are in shape to fight. That's where me and Charly earn our pay.
Lapeirda, talk to them about
1, what will they pay us to help them in their next strike. We are done. We have fulfilled our contract. But they have NOT. I expect they want some payback and will need our help to get it. But no pay, no fight.
And 2, we have too many mechs. Two too many infact. They are down two. As per the discussion above, I suspect they have more spare parts and weapons than us and will exchange them for two of our good, working mechs, because even two Wasps in a fight are better than nothing. We need, um, someone go check, I'm on my phone, but parts for the TB and BJ and a bunch of weapons for their load out.
Charlotte "Charly" Takahashi
Yep, that's right. And Charly's Wasp is actually the least damaged of everything we have. Just a repair to the actuator should see it right.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
Gunny: I can confirm you all are basically in 'downtime' at this point. Repairing, figuring out what to do next, trading for parts, etc.
Noted. Thanks for the clarity.

Lapeirda: Imma quote the post I made where I detailed what we have and what we need here:
1) Generalities
Gunny,
Seeing as how the GJ are a motivated buyer--they are a mech merc company in the middle of a hot contract and are badly in need of replacements of things that are hard to find in the best of times--and as an already successful company--they have a Union--I would like to hear their offer before rejecting it in favor of credits that we would first need to find a supplier for.
One thing I learned while playing the video game--merc companies always have a LOT of spare parts! =] I the same vein, I think they would be generous with their spare parts, as it does no good to have a Union full of parts with no mechs to put them on.
Hence, let us build an expectation based on the assumption that we will find an amenable deal with them. If the parts they offer fall short, we can always back off. They are doubly motivated to get back on their feet as they are major player, and have not upheld their end of the contract.
Hence, are we in agreement about my initial plan? At least in principle?
It looks like the only "part" we really need is a gyro for the T-Bolt. The rest--a rebuilt limb, and armor--I believe are hand-waved as "needed repairs". To have a game go so far as to keep track of individual armor points to be bought and kept track of would quickly devolve into Math: The Game. Let us assume that non-specific item can be repaired merely with elbow grease and dice rolls. FATE especially is about getting back to full health and getting back to the game in that there isn't even a need for the soft, squishy meat to heal. =)
2) Specifics.
So, what we have to trade is: Commando (currently free, without a pilot). If we can fix the T-Bolt then we have a Wasp to trade. If we can fix the BJ then we have...another WASP? (see above for discussions on that topic. i.e. If Lape wanted the BJ, then we'd have a Panther to trade, which would be worth something even if we kept the weapons to put on the BJ.)
So for a Commando and Wasp (45 tons of mechs) we need 1 gyro and weapons enough to fill a T-Bolt. Hopefully more, as I value working mechs more than loose weapons. Many of us have builds we would like to execute if we had weapons/heat sinks enough for it.
If we can trade the second WASP for an engine, a gyro, and weapons for the BJ, that would be an even trade. (Likely, as if we didn't trade the WASP I could take it apart for the gyro and engine, and put the weapons on it. It would be under-gunned, but still tougher than just a Wasp. Hence, if the GJs are flush with parts they'll take that trade.)
3) Going Forward
It's quite possible that we might stay put in orbit with the GJs for a bit while we repair, and then drop again with them. There's still a contract to fulfill so this might not be over.
But on a happier note, the T-Bolt wasn't completely Destroyed. You have a working engine and only a Damaged gyro, but its leg was blown off. Still it can be repaired given some time. The Blackjack does need a new engine and gryo as well as an entire upper torso and arm mount rebuild.
tldr: For two fully functioning and loaded Wasps and a Commando, we need parts and weapons enough to loadout an empty Thunderbolt and a Blackjack.
The parts that we need are a Heavy gyro for the TB, and a Medium Engine and a Medium Gyro for the BJ. (I think. The GM said something like this at some time but I can't find the exact quote right now.)
If you can get MORE weapons than the bare minimum needed, many people would like that because other people want to do specific builds for their mechs.
(We have one more mech than we need, so 3-2 gives us mechs for everyone. We'll figure out who pilots what later.)

Okay by my count you have the following mechs:
Locust - (NPC - Shauna)
Guys, what the f!$* is a Shuana??? GM is counting this against our total mech space.
I'm guessing this is an NPC we picked up along the way but we've picked up so many strays at this point that I'm starting to lose track. ^_^
Charlotte "Charly" Takahashi
Shauna is the Locust pilot that Gunny has a crush on. She ran to get her kids as soon as Diego gave up.
I'm still around, by the way. I just didn't think I needed to be describing Charly cowering in a corner while this gets resolved.
Lapeidra Apolonia
I've been trying. I'm beginning to think DM's got plans for him.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
I'm not sure this will make a difference or not, but it's likely that beating a man to death while he is helpless, and captive, will be viewed as murder. That said, I'm not sure what rules or laws they may have in our current situation.
Lloyd Flint
Yeah, I just didn't want Lloyd to even be in the area for this...
...which leaves me a bit unclear on where he is. I think I said he tagged along to the command meeting to report on the heat signature he picked up?
Deigon Black "Gunny"

That's where I thought he was heading. If not, your welcome to tag along with Gunny as he attempts to rub elbows with the other lance's pilots and crew. Can't hurt to get to know these guys, seeing we are on the same team. A time to parlay, so to speak...)

@Gunny: It dawns on me that another thing we could barter is repair time. The GJs might have more and more serious repairs to make, so we could include some labor from us in repairing their mechs in exchange for their mechs.
@All: Does anyone have repairs that need to be done to their mechs beyond armor? If Charly and I can see the armor damage, I imagine we can knock that out, but we may need to be reminded of anything else.
Deigon Black "Gunny"

This could be away to put something else on the table, if needed. That said, we have a lot of work ahead of us and I suspect we don't have much time.
Something that comes to mind for me is the fact that there are a number of techs that tagged along with us. We could barter their time in exchange for some accommodations. Hell, it might even create some forward work opportunities for them in the future.
Charlotte "Charly" Takahashi
I rolled to fix the actuator on Charly's Wasp, but no word on what that result is. GM, do you just want us to make a bunch of rolls for repairs or do you want to try doing this as one roll to see how long it takes us?
Oh, and from the sounds of it, Ben's old enough to be Charly's dad. Don't think there's any chance of romance there.
DM - Tareth
Sorry for the delay everyone. I managed to locate a yellowjacket nest with the string trimmer today. This was not fun. Fortunately, I am not allergic to bee stings. However, having multiple stings is still a definite discomfort. Then I start a 2-day long work retreat/meeting tomorrow. I likely won't be able to post until Thursday.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
Hope you get better, and the retreat is good. Bee stings suck.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
I suspect that our total salvage will be weighed against the ship's inability to carry it. I could be wrong on this, but our problem wasn't the lack of salvage. It was limited based on how much time we had and the lack of space on the dropship. Because of that, I suspect GM will rule that it was left behind. Note: I would be happy to be completely wrong about this.
Lapeidra Apolonia
Nothing is preventing us from going back for it, unless we think Hutton has since absconded with our loot. We appear to have a base of operations on Stettin.
And on that tangent, Lapeidra thinks we're mercs, but it feels like we're aligned with whatever is happening on Stettin. From a GM perspective, having to "make work" for us seems like torture, but is true to the BT feel. I'm happy to see where things go and trust Tareth's storytelling, but Lapeidra will often act as a merc with a vendetta and be wary of getting too involved in the politics of one side or another. The only work she'll do for charity is killing pirates.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
The Merc perspective is aligned with Gunny as well. At least to the tune of credits and salvage rights. As for going back and the salvage still being there, erm, maybe? (Shrug)
Charlotte "Charly" Takahashi
Well, we are mercs, just ones that hate pirates and bandits. :P
Charly's more soft-hearted, but she falls pretty much along the same lines at Lapeidra. They're mercs with a hatred of pirates.
She's also the least battle-hardened of the troop. Lloyd probably has more combat hours than she has.
Markus "Meatbag" von Steinchen
Markus personally thinks that the line between noble and former bandit lord is pretty drat blurry, he is a bit pissed about Deigon getting killed (he did gave his word, and he cares about his word), but unwilling to raise a fuss out of it, unless such a situation repeats itself.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
Okay could someone please find that entry from our first battle? Just on the off chance we might have it? I'm sure that will provide some context.
I'll see if I can find the time to look through the previous posts. Is there a specific post you're looking for or are you simply wanting an account of what salvage we generated from the first encounter?
Deigon Black "Gunny"
Ok, so the Panther was utterly destroyed. The Griffon we took over and the locust escaped. The Jenner, on the other hand, had some salvage. For me, the rolls were made on page 4 of the discussion thread.
Sure thing. Sorry it took a bit to reply due to work.
Salvage Rolls for Pirate Jenner
Jump Jet -4
Medium Laser +1
Medium Laser -3
SRM4 +2
Medium Laser -1
Medium Laser -2Boy, those were some crappy rolls. But it does look like the SRM4 (Tech +5) is salvageable and one of the Medium Lasers (Tech +6).

Thanks, Gunny.
@GM: Does any of this count as a repair facility for the Commando's other problem? If we have another mech to use as scaffolding, and have all the labor and parts we need, I'm not sure what a "dedicated repair facility" can supply that we can't do right now.
@Lapeirda: Does your mech have internal damage? I can't tell from your header. IF you can please list it I can start to fix it.
Lapeidra Apolonia
Thanks, Gunny.

Sorry, I think so but don't know for sure. I really still don't understand how damage and consequences work.

No problem Jack.
In my opinion, if we were in space or flying around, I think moving the Mechs in and out of Mech-bays might be a little cramped. I think it might still be possible with good piloting skill. That said, I believe we are currently on the ground. I would think moving a Mech out of a Mech-bay and then moving another one into the bay, should be reasonable. My two cents worth of an opinion anyway.

How many rolls do I need to make for the armor repairs? I know Jack did I bit, but I don't know how much we're still down.

@Charly: Looking at Lapeidra's spoiler for her mech, all six armor boxes are crossed out, thus needing repair.
Basic field repairs, reload and maintenance while in the middle of a mission can be
completed by anyone with access to proper tools, supplies, and time. Armor
replacement and ammunition reloads can be completed at the rate of clearing one
armor stress box per hour or a full mech reload in one hour. These times can be
reduced by a successful Tech Overcome vs +2 with each success shift reducing the
time by 15 minutes to a minimum of one quarter hour.
Yes, Jack is absolutely going to compare your repair time with how he did on the Griffin. =]

Peeking at the GM rolls, I think we did well to get 4 credits, whatever that equals; it seems like a windfall given our lack of rep. I have no idea if my Rapport roll had any impact, and that's probably fine in the system we're playing, although I think it should function like Diplomacy or Intimidate in PF, and I would have expected an opposed roll from Vikhaus. FATE is all about opposed rolls, right? Maybe it's me but the rules are slippery.
Atlas2112

Thoughts:
1) Lapeirda, yes, I agree, 4 credits seems good. Given that they don't even want us to shoot anything, that's seems good pay to just go take a look.
1.1. Does Lapeidra have a problem with just looking and NOT shooting at things? I assume yes, especially since there is now a cloud over if they are pirates or what.
2) @GM: They already said you can keep whatever salvage you find, so no need for the salvage roll.
2.1. Have we been paid for the last job, that was just finished? Or do we need to get back to the Jumpship for that?
3)
And 2, we have too many mechs. Two too many infact. They are down two. As per the discussion above, I suspect they have more spare parts and weapons than us and will exchange them for two of our good, working mechs, because even two Wasps in a fight are better than nothing. We need, um, someone go check, I'm on my phone, but parts for the TB and BJ and a bunch of weapons for their load out.
Could someone please ask the Jannisaries if the have a spare Heavy Gyro and Heavy Leg Actuator? In three hours I might be able to get the T-Bolt up and running, but we need the aforementioned spare parts. If you wanna wait and do the major bartering after peace again reigns, that's fine, but I fear we'll just be right back here with too many mechs and too few parts. The RP we've been doing is great, but I fear what would happen if I start talking to people myself. (For starts, if I need to leave the repair area and go to the GJ's to ask for the parts, that's less time I have to repair things.)
Jumping ahead to repairing the T-Bolt: Yes, you need a Heavy type Gyro, and you need a Heavy Leg Actuator (because that got completely blown away between all the Internal Damage hits.). Then of course you need new weapon systems as the rolls for salvage on that front were pretty bad.
The Blackjack requires a medium engine, medium gyro, and then a full set of weapons.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
@Atlas: I did a bit of beating around the bush with one of their sergeants about trading. I got the district feeling it was a subject he didn't feel comfortable dealing with. That said, I never pursued it up the chain. If I had to guess, a large-scale trade like that is likely going to come from their brass. I would recommend a good social skill roll to accompany the request. I suspect the GM strongly takes into consideration the roll when developing a reply even if there isn't a counter roll. That said, our new leader Markus is probably the best suited to make the request in our behalf.

N-no. No that's... that's not what they say at all. More like 'see something, quietly report it back to HQ.'
Also, you. You're who Gunny is talking about. When you say how pleased we are in accepting the contract, could you please ask if they have a heavy gyro and actuator?
Lapeidra Apolonia
No can do. Vikas only speaks to Markus now.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
Not sure if the T-bolt is the best option for a stealth recon mission.
DM - Tareth
Jack: With Vikhaus signing off on the initial contract completion, you've been paid. And yes, I realized after the fact that no roll was necessary for salvage.
Are there any more repairs being done or other conversations prior to the next mission? If not, then I'll bump things along over the weekend.
Someone needs to have the special scanner installed on their mech if you want to go for any of the bonus credits. To successfully scan requires a Sensors roll vs +3 and you must be within 4 zones of the mech/building/vehicle being scanned.
Deigon Black "Gunny"
I should be good to go. In regard to stress, how do we normally deal with that? Does it automatically renew at the end of the scene? Or are we required to do something specific to deal with it?
